Objective: To investigate the prevalence and associated factors of depressive symptoms among junior and senior high school students in Beijing from 2019 to 2023, in order to provide a scientific basis for interventions targeting high risk groups. Methods: From 2019 to 2023, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 88 927 junior and senior high school students from 16 districts in Beijing. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CES-D) was conducted to assess depressive symptoms. The Chi square test was used to compare the detection rates of depressive symptoms among different student groups, and the trend Chi square test was employed for trend analysis of detection rates across the years. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was applied to examine the association between the detection of depressive symptoms and related factors among junior and senior high school students. Results: From 2019 to 2023, the prevalence rates of depressive symptoms among junior and senior high school students in Beijing were 20.45%, 18.19%, 16.64%, 17.89% and 18.17%, respectively, with an overall downward trend ( χ 2 trend =27.51, P <0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that after adjusting for gender, monitoring year, educational stage,family structure,boarding status and has taken a medical leave of absence in the past year unhealthy dietary behaviors ( OR=1.80, 95%CI =1.73-1.87), physical inactivity ( OR=1.24, 95%CI =1.19-1.29), try smoking ( OR=1.46, 95%CI =1.35-1.58), try alcohol( OR=1.96, 95%CI =1.88-2.05), Internet addiction ( OR=3.88, 95%CI =3.57-4.22), and adverse ear related behavior ( OR=1.82, 95%CI =1.71-1.93) were all associated with an increased risk of depressive symptoms among junior and senior high school students (all P <0.05). Conclusions The prevalence depression symptoms among middle school students in Beijing showed a fluctuating downward trend from 2019 to 2023. Targeted interventions should be adopted to reduce the occurrence of depression symptoms among junior and senior high school students.

Objective: To understand the trends of classroom lighting and illumination of primary and secondary schools in Beijing from 2016 to 2023, so as to provide a scientific basis for targeted improvement measures. Methods: A sampling survey was conducted on the lighting and illumination indicators of 8 390 classrooms in primary and secondary schools in Beijing from 2016 to 2023. The survey included classroom daylight factor, window to floor area ratio, average illuminance and illuminance uniformity on the desks, average illuminance and illuminance uniformity on blackboards, as well as classroom lighting and blackboard illumination sources. Intergroup comparisons were performed using the Kruskal-Wallis H test and the Chi square test, and Spearman correlation analysis was used to examine the trend of classroom lighting and illumination changes. Results: Except the window to floor area ratio, the measured values and compliance rates of all lighting and illumination indicators showed an overall upward trend from 2016 to 2023 (daylight factor r = 0.27, χ 2 trend =206.80, average illuminance on the desk surface r =0.30, χ 2 trend =87.97, illuminance uniformity on the desk surface r =0.14, χ 2 trend =73.59, average illuminance on the blackboard r =0.33, χ 2 trend =477.43, illuminance uniformity on the blackboard r = 0.09, χ 2 trend =50.76) (all P ＜0.01). The lighting and illumination indicators of classrooms (included classroom daylight factor, average illuminance and illuminance uniformity on the desks, average illuminance and illuminance uniformity on blackboards) in urban schools, primary schools, and secondary schools from 2016 to 2023 showed an upward trend (urban r =0.23-0.40, χ 2 trend =88.66-392.18; primary school r =0.12-0.36, χ 2 trend =39.50-281.44; secondary schools r =0.06-0.31, χ 2 trend =11.79-213.73) (all P ＜ 0.01 ). The illuminance uniformity on the blackboard in suburban schools showed a downward trend ( r = -0.09, χ 2 trend =31.53, both P ＜0.01). The illuminance uniformity on the desk surface in suburban schools showed no significant change ( r =0.03, χ 2 trend =1.23, both P ＞0.05). The other indicators showed an upward trend (daylight factor r =0.28, χ 2 trend =40.69, average illuminance on the desk surface r =0.24, χ 2 trend =16.35, average illuminance on the blackboard r =0.25, χ 2 trend =118.05, all P ＜0.01). The trends of classroom and blackboard illumination sources were that fluorescent lamps decreased year by year and LED lamps increased by year (classroom illumination sources χ 2 trend =1 059.82, blackboard illumination sources χ 2 trend =1 070.25, both P ＜0.01). Conclusions The classroom lighting and illumination in primary and secondary schools in Beijing has shown an overall improving trend from 2016 to 2023. However, problems remain, such as limited improvement of illuminance uniformity indicators, late start and poor effect of reconstruction in suburban schools. Further improvements are still needed.

By a review of ancient medical books， this paper summarizes the composition， original plants， processing， dosage， decocting methods， indications and other key information of Fangji Fulingtang， aiming to provide a literature basis for the research， development， and clinical application of preparations based on this formula. Synonyms of Fangji Fulingtang exist in ancient medical books， while the formula composition in the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber is more widespread and far-reaching. In this formula， Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix， Astragali Radix， Cinnamomi Ramulus， Poria， and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma are the dried root of Stephania tetrandra， the dried root of Astragalus embranaceus var. mongholicus， the dried shoot of Cinnamomum cassia， the dried sclerotium of Poria cocos， and the dried root and rhizome of Glycyrrhiza uralensis， respectively. Fangji Fulingtang is mainly produced into powder， with the dosage and decocting method used in the past dynasties basically following the original formula. Each bag is composed of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix 13.80 g， Astragali Radix 13.80 g， Cinnamomi Ramulus 13.80 g， Poria 27.60 g， and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma 9.20 g. AIM:This study aims to investigate the regulatory effects of caffeic acid phenethyl ester(CAPE)on metabotropic glutamate receptor 5(mGluR5)and tyrosine kinase Fyn,and to explore its role in alleviating neuroinflam-mation and pathological features of Alzheimer disease(AD).METHODS:In vitro,the murine neuroblastoma N2a cell line was treated with amyloid β-protein 42 oligomers(Aβ42Os;10 nmol/L to 10 μmol/L)for 24 h.Cell viability was as-sessed by MTT assay.Western blot analyzed mGluR5 expression and Fyn phosphorylation(Tyr416).Pharmacological modulators(CHPG/MPEP)were used to evaluate mGluR5-mediated inflammatory cytokine regulation(qPCR)and Fyn ac-tivation.In vivo,wild-type(WT)and 5×FAD mice(WT,WT+CAPE,5×FAD and 5×FAD+CAPE)were analyzed for AD-related proteins,neuroinflammation(ELISA),glial activation(GFAP/Iba-1 immunofluorescence),and β-amyloid deposi-tion(thioflavin S).RESULTS:(1)Treatment with 1 μmol/L Aβ42Os increased mGluR5 expression(P<0.01)and Fyn phosphorylation(P<0.01)without affecting N2a cell viability.Intracerebral Aβ42Os injection similarly up-regulated hip-pocampal mGluR5 and Fyn(P<0.01).(2)MPEP reduced mGluR5 expression(P<0.01)and Fyn phosphorylation(P<0.01),while suppressing tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)mRNA levels(P<0.01).(3)CAPE decreased mGluR5-Fyn activation in N2a cells,neurons,and 5×FAD mice(P<0.01).(4)CAPE-treated 5×FAD mice exhibited reduced neuroinflammation markers(GFAP,Iba-1,TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6),Aβ plaques,and p-APP levels(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Treatment with CAPE inhibits Aβ42Os-induced mGluR5-Fyn signaling activation,thereby attenuating neuroinflammation and the pathology associated with AD.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the clinical distribution characteristics and drug resistance of Enterobacter cloa-cae in Gansu Province from 2019 to 2023,providing reference for the prevention and control of E.cloacae infec-tions in this region.METHODS Data on the distribution and drug resistance of E.cloacae from hospitals in mem-ber units of the Gansu Antimicrobial Surveillance Network between 2019 and 2023 were collected.In vitro drug susceptibility testing was performed by the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion(K-B)method,minimum inhibitory con-centration method,and fully automated instrumentation,followed by analysis of the susceptibility results.RESULTS From 2019 to 2023,a total of 402 490 bacterial strains were isolated and cultured in Gansu Province,including 17 417 strains of E.cloacae,with a detection rate of 4.33％.The bacteria were primarily iso-lated from sputum specimens(62.81％),followed by urine(7.37％)and wound pus specimens(6.07％).The de-partmental distribution was dominated by internal medicine(44.96％)and surgery(28.50％).The highest detec-tion rate was observed in the adult group(15-65 years,45.79％).E.cloacae exhibited varying degrees of resist-ance to over 20 antibacterial drugs,but the overall drug resistance rate showed a declining trend(P＜0.05).The highest drug resistance rate was observed for cefazolin(96.40％-98.38％),while the lowest was for tigecycline(0.44％—2.92％).Carbapenem-resistant E.cloacae demonstrated an increasing trend in drug resistance rates,with imipenem resistance ranging from 2.79％to 3.71％(P=0.044)and meropenem resistance ranging from 1.29％to 3.41％(P＜0.05).CONCLUSIONS The isolation rate of E.cloacae in Gansu Province remains stable,with a declining trend in drug resistance to multiple antibacterial drugs.However,the increasing drug resistance to carbapenems warrants attention.

Hepatitis virus is the main pathogen causing liver inflammation and damage. Early detection is crucial for the effective treatment of hepatitis. The detection technology of hepatitis virus has gone through multiple stages, including immunological detection technology and nucleic acid detection technology. The emergence of emerging molecular detection technologies makes its detection more sensitive and convenient, including nanotechnology, Raman spectroscopy technology, microfluidic technology and biosensor technology. The development of these technologies has promoted the early diagnosis of hepatitis, but their clinic applications are still facing challenges. In the future, the development of hepatitis virus detection technology is expected to transform in the form of multidimensional and interdisciplinary innovation process, with its core objectives being the realization of more precise, convenient, and accessible detection methods, thereby comprehensively advancing the progress of hepatitis prevention and control efforts.

The liver performs multiple life-sustaining functions. Hepatic diseases, including hepatitis, cirrhosis, and hepatoma, pose significant health and economic burdens globally. Along with the advances in nanotechnology, mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) exhibiting diversiform size and shape, distinct morphological properties, and favorable physico-chemical features have become an ideal choice for drug delivery systems and inspire alternative thinking for the management of hepatic diseases. Initially, we introduce the physiological structure of the liver and highlight its intrinsic cell types and correlative functions. Next, we detail the synthesis methods and physicochemical properties of MSNs and their capacity for controlled drug loading and release. Particularly, we discuss the interactions between liver and MSNs with respect to the passive targeting mechanisms of MSNs within the liver by adjusting their particle size, pore diameter, surface charge, hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity, and surface functionalization. Subsequently, we emphasize the role of MSNs in regulating liver pathophysiology, exploring their value in addressing liver pathological states, such as tumors and inflammation, combined with multi-functional designs and intelligent modes to enhance drug targeting and minimize side effects. Lastly, we put forward the problems, challenges, opportunities, as well as clinical translational issues faced by MSNs in the management of liver diseases.

To investigate the protective effects and underlying mechanisms of Qin-Zhu-Liang-Xue decoction (QZLX) in atopic dermatitis (AD) and glucocorticoid resistance, we conducted a single-blinded, randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this concoction. Network pharmacology analysis was performed and validated through clinical studies. The efficacy, safety, and mechanism of action of QZLX and glucocorticoid receptor (GR) α recombinant protein were assessed in AD mice induced by 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB). Correlation analysis was performed to determine the clinical relevance of GRα. The trial demonstrated that patients who received QZLX showed considerable improvements in their Scoring Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) scores compared with those who received mizolastine at week 4. Network pharmacological analysis identified GRα as a key target for QZLX in AD treatment. QZLX administration increased the serum GRα expression in AD patients, alleviated AD symptoms in mice, decreased inflammatory cytokine expression, and increased GRα expression without affecting liver or kidney function. In addition, GRα recombinant protein improved AD-like skin lesions in DNFB-induced mice. A negative correlation was observed between GRα expression and clinical parameters, including SCORAD, DLQI, and serum IgE levels. QZLX alleviates AD symptoms through the upregulation of GRα and thus presents a novel therapeutic strategy for the prevention of glucocorticoid resistance in AD management.
