This study aims to review the current status and development trends of digital TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) specimen museums, providing a theoretical basis for their future construction. By systematically organizing literature and materials, practical experiences in platform architecture design, content planning, and technical implementation were summarized. The research results show that digital technology has significant application value in the TCM field. Currently, some Food and Drug Control Institutes have formed diverse construction achievements by integrating regional characteristics with technological innovation. However, current TCM specimen museums generally still face many challenges, such as insufficient digitalization. In conclusion, the digitalization of TCM specimen museums has become an inevitable trend in the industry. Targeted measures are urgently needed to solve existing problems and promote the sustainable development of digital TCM specimen museums. It is suggested to strengthen the standardization of data collection and storage, deepen the integration of technologies such as 3D, AR, and AI into the construction of specimen museums, and at the same time promote the spatial design combining regional culture with TCM. This will help create "one museum with one feature for one region" digital TCM specimen museums, further promoting their sustainable development and facilitating the digital inheritance of TCM.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), previously known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, is the fastest-growing cause of chronic liver disease worldwide, affecting approximately 30% of the global population.Imaging is vital for detecting, quantifying, and monitoring hepatic steatosis—the defining abnormality of MASLD—and subsequent fibrosis—the key determinant of liver-related outcomes. This review summarizes the principles, clinical usage, efficacy, and advancements in various imaging modalities for the noninvasive assessment of hepatic steatosis and fibrosis, with an emphasis on ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Additionally, this review explores the evolving landscape of MASLD diagnostic approaches, including machine-learning techniques, opportunistic screening, standardized imaging guidelines, and therapies, emphasizing the pivotal role that radiologists can play in shaping these developments.

Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology 2026;19(1):45-54
Objectives:
. The prognostic value of the pretreatment albumin-to-alkaline phosphatase ratio (AAPR) in head and neck cancer (HNC) remains uncertain. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the predictive role of AAPR for survival outcomes in patients with HNC.
Methods:
. A comprehensive search of the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Embase databases was conducted to identify relevant studies published up to July 30, 2024. We included studies on AAPR and survival outcomes in HNC patients.
Results:
. Eight studies comprising 1,737 HNC patients were analyzed using random-effects models. Lower AAPR values were significantly correlated with worse overall survival (hazard ratio [HR], 2.08), progression-free survival (HR, 2.00), and disease-free survival (HR, 2.18). Sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness of these results, with no significant publication bias detected.
Conclusion
. Our findings suggest that pretreatment AAPR could serve as a valuable and cost-effective prognostic indicator in HNC, potentially aiding clinicians in risk stratification and treatment decision-making. However, additional validation studies are warranted to confirm its clinical applicability.

With the accelerating trend of population aging, the number of elderly patients with lung cancer continues to rise, and the disease burden is becoming increasingly heavy. The clinical management of these patients faces severe challenges due to their decreased physiological reserve, complex comorbidities, and significant individual heterogeneity. Consequently, under traditional diagnosis and treatment models, doctors often struggle to identify the individualized risks of elderly patients in a timely and comprehensive manner, which can easily lead to decision biases such as undertreatment or overtreatment. In view of this, this study advocates for the establishment of an umbrella decision-making model specifically tailored for elderly lung cancer patients. Grounded in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) platform, this model deeply integrates oncological indicators with the comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) system. By holistically considering multidimensional variables including tumor burden, organ function, frailty index, cognitive status, and social support, the model establishes an operational mechanism characterized by "single entry, precise stratification, and targeted selection". Accordingly, patients can be scientifically triaged into distinct intervention tiers, such as active surveillance, minimally invasive surgery, drug therapy, radiotherapy, and best supportive care, thereby achieving real-time alignment between treatment intensity and patient fitness. This article elaborates on the construction logic and key operational procedures of this novel decision-making framework, aiming to guide clinical practice beyond the limitations of a tumor-centric perspective toward a holistic, dynamic, whole-course management strategy. This transition seeks to ensure optimal quality of life and clinical net benefit for elderly patients alongside survival prolongation.

Breviscapine (Bre), the effective flavonoid fraction extracted from Erigeron breviscapus , contains more than 90% scutellarin. It exerts pharmacological effects including cardiovascular protection, neuroprotection, anti-tumor activity and immunomodulation. Nevertheless, Bre has several drawbacks such as low solubility, low permeability, poor stability and short half-life, which greatly restrict its clinical application. Novel drug delivery systems (NDDS) are carriers that integrate multi-dimensional technologies including solubilization, penetration enhancement, sustained/controlled release and targeted delivery to achieve efficient drug delivery. This paper systematically summarizes the research progress of Bre-NDDS, which mainly covers oral preparations (sustained/controlled-release drug delivery systems, immediate-release drug delivery systems), injectable preparations (liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, lipid emulsions, polymeric nanoparticles, polymeric micelles), mucosal delivery systems (nasal mucosal drug delivery systems, buccal mucosal drug delivery systems, pulmonary mucosal drug delivery systems) and transdermal delivery systems. The preparation routes as well as in vitro and in vivo performances of various Bre-NDDS are analyzed. The design principles for NDDS based on pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics are put forward, which can provide scientific evidence for the research, development and industrialization of high-efficiency and safe new Bre preparations.

Objective:To investigate the expression pattern of pan-TRK protein in colorectal cancers with NTRK gene fusion and mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) and to analyze its molecular pathological characteristics. Methods:A total of 117 dMMR colorectal cancers diagnosed in the Department of Pathology of Henan Provincial People′s Hospital, Zhengzhou, China from 2020 to 2023 were collected. Immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and DNA/RNA-based next-generation sequencing (NGS) were used to detect pan-TRK protein expression and fusion partner genes in tumors, and to further explore the correlation between pan-TRK staining patterns and partner genes. Results:IHC and FISH were performed successfully in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues from 117 dMMR colorectal cancer patients. There were 15 (15/117, 12.8%) cases with positive pan-TRK, including 6 cases with strong staining in tumor cell membrane and cytoplasm, 2 cases with weakly granular staining in tumor cytoplasm, 2 cases with moderate dot-like staining in near 5% tumor cell nuclei, 1 case with moderately to strongly granular staining in the cytoplasm and membrane of tumor cells, 1 case with moderately to weakly granular staining in about 60% of the tumor cells, 1 case with strongly staining in about 1% of the tumor cells, 1 case with moderately to strongly staining in about 3% of the tumor cells and 1 case with diffuse, moderate para-nuclear dot-like and weakly perinuclear granular staining. NTRK1 gene disruption was detected in 6 cases (6/117, 5.1%) and consistent with diffusely strong expression of pan-TRK. Based on DNA/RNA NGS, it was further confirmed that the 6 cases with NTRK1 gene disruption all carried TPM3-NTRK1 fusion gene, and all had high microsatellite instability and high tumor mutation burden. No KRAS, NRAS, BRAF V600E or TP53 gene mutations were detected. Four patients carried frame shift mutations in RNF43. Other molecular changes included 3 cases with ROS1 gene mutation, 2 cases with BRAC, ALK, and EGFR gene mutations, 2 cases with ATM gene mutation, and 2 cases with KIT gene mutation. These were missense/frame shift mutations that were associated with no clinical significance. The nine pan-TRK-positive cases without NTRK gene fusion detected with DNA-based NGS were further confirmed with RNA-based NGS, and no NTRK gene fusion was found. The sensitivity and specificity of NTRK gene fusion detected using IHC were 100.0% and 92.5%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of diffusely strong membranous/cytoplasmic staining were both 100.0%.Conclusions:Pan-TRK protein has various expression patterns in dMMR colorectal cancer. Its diffusely strong expression is highly suggestive of NTRK1 gene fusion. TPM3-NTRK1 gene fusion is a common form of NTRK gene fusion in dMMR colorectal cancer.

Objective:To explore the effectiveness and application value of focused ultrasound ablation surgery (FUAS) combined with hysteroscopic surgery in treating solitary type Ⅱ submucosal uterine fibroids with maximum diameter >5 cm.Methods:Clinical data of 35 patients with a single type Ⅱ submucosal uterine fibroid with maximum diameter greater than 5 cm who underwent FUAS combined with hysteroscopic surgery at Qingdao Women and Children′s Hospital from June 2020 to December 2023 were collected. The clinical characteristics, treatments and treatment outcomes were retrospectively analyzed.Results:(1) Clinical characteristics: the mean age of the 35 patients was (36.7±6.6) years, with a median maximum diameter of fibroids of 56 mm (range: 51-80 mm). All patients presented with symptoms of menorrhagia, median menstrual bleeding score was 5 points (ranged from 3 to 5 points), and 34 cases (97.1%, 34/35) had concomitant anemia, the mean hemoglobin was (83.1±13.8) g/L of 35 patients. (2) Treatments: all 35 patients underwent FUAS treatment initially, with a lesion ablation rate ranging from 69.7% to 97.9% (median:90.7%), and no complications occurred. After FUAS treatment, the volume of fibroids decreased in all patients, with a volume reduction rate ranging from 30.57% to 87.22% (median:76.03%). Hysteroscopic surgery was performed 3-14 months (median: 5 months) after FUAS to remove the necrotic fibroid tissue, achieving a 100.0% (35/35) fibroid resection rate. Only 1 patient developed complications of hyperhyderation syndrome during hysteroscopic surgery, and no complications occurred in the remaining patients. (3) Evaluation of efficacy: after FUAS pretreatment, the maximum diameter of fibroids in the 35 patients decreased significantly ( Z=-5.171, P<0.001), as did the volume of fibroids ( Z=-5.159, P<0.001). The hemoglobin level increased significantly compared to the level before FUAS in all cases ( t=-8.657, P<0.001), and median menstrual bleeding score decreased to 2 points (range: 1-3 points), significantly lower than original level ( Z=-5.292, P<0.001). At the 3-month follow-up after hysteroscopic surgery, all patients were free of anemia symptoms, with menstrual bleeding scores totally decreased to 1 point, significantly lower than that before hysteroscopic surgery ( Z=-4.786, P<0.001); hemoglobin level [(118.7±5.6) g/L] significantly increased compared to that before hysteroscopic surgery ( t=-9.258, P<0.001). All patients underwent gynecological transvaginal ultrasound re-examination, which did not reveal any residual fibroids. Conclusion:FUAS combined with hysteroscopic surgery is effective in treating solitary type Ⅱ submucosal uterine fibroids with maximum diameter >5 cm, providing a new treatment option for patients.

Objective:To establish an evaluation model for the radon reduction effect of activated carbon adsorption in localized underground spaces, to guide the rational application of the activated carbon adsorption method for radon reduction in localized underground spaces. Methods:For both intermittent and continuous adsorption-based radon reduction method in localized underground spaces, a theoretical model was constructed for evaluating the of radon reduction effec. By means of this modle, the influence factors on the radon reduction effect were analyzed such as radon concentration, space volume, and air exchange rate with the external environment. Experimental validation of the theoretical model was conducted under typical conditions. Results:The radon exhalation rate from concrete surface in localized underground spaces was inversely linear relationship with the indoor radon concentration. However, the slope of this relationship was very small: when the radon concentration decreased from 2 018 Bq/m 3 to 0, the exhalation rate only increased slightly from 4.20 to 4.46 Bq·m -2·h -1, indicating a minimal change. At the same air exchange rate and in the same space volume, the initial radon concentration had little impact on the adsorption-based radon reduction effect, thus suggesting that the radon generation rate from the enclosure surface could be negligible in the evaluation. In contrast, the adsorption flow rate of a radon reduction device and the air exchange rate between the localized spaces and surrounding environment had significant fluence on radon reduction effect. In the same sealed space and at the same adsorption flow rate, the difference in effect between intermittent and continuous adsorption method was of insignificance. However, in localized spaces with connectivity to surrounding environment, the continuous adsorption significantly outperforms intermittent adsorption, achieving faster radon reduction and better suitability for larger spaces. Simulated experiments validated that the theoretical model for evaluating adsorption-based radon reduction effect was reliable. Conclusions:The research findings provide theoretical guidance on selecting appropriate adsorption-based radon reduction devices for localized underground spaces of different volumes and varing connectivity conditions, in order to reduce the radon concentration within localized spaces to expected levels.
