Objective To explore and analyze adverse drug events(ADE)signals of azithromycin, identify common adverse events and suspected adverse reactions that occur easily in the real clinical application of azithromycin. Methods The adverse drug event reports related to azithromycin recorded in the US FDA Adverse Event Reporting System database from October 1,2003,to October 1,2023,were mined using the OpenVigil 2.1 drug surveillance platform.Signal detection and analysis were carried out using the reporting odds ratio(ROR)and Bayesian confidence propagation neural network method(BCPNN).Results A total of 5498 ADE signals were identified, with a total of 112485 reports.Eventually,31,041 azithromycin-associated adverse event reports were extracted, involving 898 positive signals,27 system organ classes, mainly concentrated in respiratory system diseases, infections, gastrointestinal system diseases, and others.Additionally, some adverse reactions possibly caused by azithromycin were discovered, such as asthma, wheezing, and potential reactions like incomplete abortion. Conclusion When using azithromycin, besides paying attention to the adverse reactions listed in the drug instructions,we should also pay attention to some adverse reactions that have not been timely recorded or updated,in order to prevent the medication safety risks caused by outdated instructions, provide reasonable medication advice, and ensure the medication safety of patients.
3.Research progress and future prospect on the pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 2024;45(2):167-177
Acute pancreatitis (AP) is one of the common acute abdominal diseases of the digestive system, and its incidence is increasing year by year in China, Europe, and the United States. Although its etiology is diverse, it follows certain pathophysiological processes and the key regulatory molecules are similar. Over the past few years, on the one hand, progress in the research was made on pancreatic acinar and ductal epithelial cells including calcium signaling pathways, impaired autophagy flux, dysfunction of mitochondria and other organelles, and endoplasmic reticulum stress imbalance. On the other hand, important progress was made in early recruitment and excessive activation of immune cells and their roles in regulating pancreatic necrosis and pancreatitis-associated multiple organ failure. All of the above-mentioned research progress has greatly enhanced our understanding of the pathogenesis and intervention strategies of AP. This article will focus on the basic research progress in the pathogenesis of AP in recent years in order to provide clinical guidance for the early treatment of AP.

Objective:To explore the positive rates of 2019-nCoV nucleic acid at different time of courses of COVID-19.Methods:Patients with confirmed COVID-19 were enrolled in this study. Nasal and throat swabs were collected from different courses of disease. Real-time RT-PCR was used to detect 2019-nCoV nucleic acid. Results:From January 23 to February 20, 2020, a total of 120 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Xi’an, and 85 cases(70.83%) were positive in first detection. The COVID-19 cases included consistently nucleic acid positive and intermittently nucleic acid positive patients. 2019-nCoV nucleic acid could be detected in incubation period, and the longest observed duration of nucleic acid positive in this study was 26 days. The positive rate of 2019-nCoV nucleic acid was up to 84.21% on the 6th day, and the positive rate decreased as time passed during the course of COVID-19. Three patients (2.86%) were tested positive for 2019-nCoV nucleic acid again in nasal and throat swabs after discharge. Conclusions:The positive rate of 2019-nCoV nucleic acid was higher in the early stage of disease. 2019-nCoV nucleic acid can be detected in incubation period, and virus shedding may last for a long period.

Objective:
In order to master the epidemic trend of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and evaluate the effect of prevention and control, we evaluate the epidemic dynamics of COVID-19 in mainland China, Hubei province, Wuhan city and other provinces outside Hubei from January 16 to February 14, 2020.
Methods:
We collected the daily number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases by nucleic acid detection reported by the National Health Commission from January 16, 2020 to February 14, 2020. The analysis includes the epidemic curve of the new confirmed cases, multiple of the new confirmed cases for period-over-period, multiple of the new confirmed cases for fixed-base, and the period-over-period growth rate of the new confirmed cases.
Results:
From January 16 to February 14, 2020, the cumulative number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in mainland China was 50 031, including 37 930 in Hubei province, 22 883 in Wuhan city and 12 101 in other provinces outside Hubei. The peak of the number of new confirmed cases in other provinces outside Hubei was from January 31 to February 4, 2020, and the peak of new confirmed cases in Wuhan city and Hubei province was from February 5 to February 9, 2020. The number of new confirmed cases in other provinces outside Hubei showed a significant decline (23% compared with the peak) from February 5 to February 9, 2020, while the number of new confirmed cases in Wuhan city (30% compared with the peak) and Hubei Province (37% compared with the peak) decreased significantly from February 10 to February 14, 2020.
Conclusion
The epidemic prevention and control measures taken by the state and governments at all levels have shown very significant effects, effectively curbing the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic in China.
