[Objective] To analyze the distribution of Rh blood group phenotype in some ethnic groups in China, so as to provide references for accurate blood transfusion. [Methods] The data of CNKI, Wanfang data and VIP were retrieved using "Rh blood group" and "nationality", and the search of PubMed database was conducted with the keywords "Rh blood group", "nationalities", "ethnic groups" and "China", with retrieval time until September 19, 2024 Data were extracted from eligible studies and the literature quality was evaluated using the criteria for cross-sectional studies in STROBE statement. Meta analysis was performed using Stata 11.0 software. [Results] A total of 350 relevant literature were retrieved, of which 26 were included. The total sample size for Rh phenotype distribution detection were 31 432, and the total population for RhD negative screening was 47 227, covering 26 ethnic groups. Meta-analysis revealed that the Rh blood groups phenotype distribution in certain ethnic populations in China was mainly CCDee 46.7% (95%CI=46.2%-47.2%), CcDEe 30.1% (95%CI=29.5%-30.6%), and CcDee 9.0% (95%CI=8.7%-9.3%). Analysis of the RhD-negative phenotype indicated an negative rate of RhD of 0.3% (95%CI=0.2%-0.3%), with the main phenotype distributions of ccdee at 0.2% (95%CI=0.1%-0.2%) and ccdEe at 0.2% (95%CI=0.0%-0.4%). The meta-analysis results of the distribution of common phenotypes among different ethnic groups showed that the CCDee phenotype was mainly distributed as Hani>Dong>Buyi>Miao>Tujia>Hui>Zang>Kazakh>Mongol>Uygur; the CcDEe phenotype: Zang>Mongol>Hui; the CcDee phenotype: Uygur>Kazakh>Mongol>Zang>Hui>Dong>Miao>Tujia>Buyi; the ccDEE phenotype: Zang>Hui=Mongol. The results of this study are similar to those of Qingdao population in China, but differ from studies conducted in North India, German individuals of European ancestry and Saudi Arabian populations. [Conclusion] The distribution of Rh blood group phenotypes in some ethnic groups in China shows no significant difference compared to the Han population, but there are differences when compared to populations in other countries and regions.

Objective:To determine the clinical application value of transcranial sonography (TCS) in the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children.Methods:A total of 50 children aged 6-12 years diagnosed with ADHD (ADHD group) and 45 age-matched healthy children (control group) who presented to Suzhou Municipal Hospital and Children′s Hospital of Soochow University from August 2021 to August 2022 were prospectively enrolled for TCS examination. ADHD was diagnosed in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-Ⅴ) criteria established by the American Psychiatric Association.Based on clinical symptom characteristics, ADHD was further classified into 3 subtypes, including 14 cases of predominantly inattentive, 3 cases of predominantly hyperactive/impulsive, and 33 cases of combined presentation. The substantia nigra(SN) hyperechoic area and the ratio of SN hyperechoic area to midbrain area (S/M) were measured and compared between the two groups. The examination of the correlation was performed between SN hyperechoic area, S/M ratio, and DSM-Ⅴ scores within the ADHD group.Results:Semi-quantitative analysis: the proportion of the SN grade Ⅲ or more in ADHD group was significantly higher than that in control group [96.00%(48/50) vs 13.3%(6/45), P<0.05]. Quantitative analysis: the area of SN hyperechogenicity and the ratio of S/M were significantly larger in ADHD group than in control group [0.32(0.22, 0.38)cm 2 vs 0.00(0.00, 0.00)cm 2, 7.08(5.11, 8.75)% vs 0.00(0.00, 0.00)%, all P<0.05]. Correlation analysis: The SN hyperechoic area and S/M ratio showed no significant correlations with DSM-Ⅴ scores in the ADHD group ( r=0.144, 0.142, all P>0.05). Conclusions:TCS can detect the SN echo enhancement of ADHD children, and the proportion of SN echo enhancement, SN hyperechoic area and S/M ratio are significantly higher than those of normal children, but the SN hyperecho area and S/M ratio are not significantly correlated with DSM-Ⅴ scores.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of Xihuangwan extract on mitochondrial energy metabolism in ovarian cancer SKOV3 and HEY cells and to explore the underlying mechanism. MethodSKOV3 and HEY cells were cultured in vitro and treated with different concentrations （0， 5， 10， 15， 20 g·L^-1） of Xihuangwan extract. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium （MTT） was used to examine the viability of SKOV3 and HEY cells treated with Xihuangwan extract. The adenosine-triphosphate （ATP） levels in SKOV3 and HEY cells were measured by kit. Flow cytometry was employed to measure the content of reactive oxygen species （ROS） in cells. Western blot was employed to determine the protein levels of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ co-activator 1α （PGC1α）， transcription factor A， mitochondrial （TFAM）， translocase of outer mitochondrial membrane 20 （TOMM20）， and aplasia Ras homologue member Ⅰ （ARHⅠ） in SKOV3 and HEY cells. Mito-Tracker Green staining was used to observe the morphological changes of mitochondria in SKOV3 and HEY cells. ResultCompared with blank group， Xihuangwan extract treatment for 24， 48 h inhibited the viability of SKOV3 and HEY cells in a concentration-dependent manner （P<0.05， P<0.01）. Compared with blank group， Xihuangwan extract （10， 15， 20 g·L^-1） groups presented lowered ATP levels （P<0.05， P<0.01）， and the 20 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract group had lower ATP level than the 10 and 15 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract groups （P<0.05）. Compared with blank group， Xihuangwan extract increased the content of ROS in SKOV3 and HEY cells in a concentration-dependent manner （P<0.05， P<0.01）， and the 20 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract group had higher ROS content than the 10 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract group （P<0.05）. Compared with blank group， Xihuangwan extract up-regulated the expression level of ARHⅠ protein in SKOV3 and HEY cells in a concentration-dependent manner （P<0.01）， and the expression levels of ARHⅠ protein was higher in the 20 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract group than in the 10 and 15 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract groups （P<0.05）. Compared with the blank group， Xihuangwan extract down-regulated the protein levels of PGC1α， TFAM， and TOMM20 in SKOV3 and HEY cells in a concentration-dependent manner （P<0.05， P<0.01）， and the protein levels of TFAM and TOMM20 in the HEY cells treated with 20 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract were lower than those in the HEY cells treated with 10， 15 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract （P<0.05）. Compared with the blank group， 20 g·L^-1 Xihuangwan extract decreased the Mito-Tracker fluorescence intensity of SKOV3 and HEY cells （P<0.05）. ConclusionXihuangwan can compromise the mitochondrial function of ovarian cancer SKOV3 and HEY cells and reduce cell energy metabolism to inhibit the proliferation of SKOV3 and HEY cells by up-regulating ARHⅠ and inhibiting PGC1α/TFAM signaling axis.

ObjectiveOvarian cancer is the third most common gynecologic cancer worldwide， with the second highest mortality rate among gynecologic cancers， and age-standardized rates are gradually increasing in many low- and middle-income countries. At present， its etiology and pathogenesis are not clear. There are no obvious symptoms in the early stage， and when the symptoms become obvious， it often indicates the advanced stage. The 5-year survival rate of the advanced stage is only 17%， which poses a great threat to women's health. Therefore， an in-depth study of the etiology and pathogenesis of ovarian cancer is very important to the exploration of prevention and treatment methods for ovarian cancer. Based on the clinical characteristics of ovarian cancer in traditional Chinese and Western medicine， and combined with the existing evaluation methods of animal models， this study evaluated the animal model of ovarian cancer， and provided analysis and suggestions. MethodThis study searched China National Knowledge Infrastructure （CNKI）， Wanfang data， VIP information database， and PubMed database using the keywords "ovarian cancer" and "animal model"， excluded the articles that did not meet the criteria， and then classified the remaining studies. Combined with the clinical diagnostic criteria of Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation， the related indicators of ovarian cancer animal models were assigned and the degree of agreement was evaluated. ResultThe use of the transplanted animal model exhibited the highest frequency， followed by that of the induced model. The degree of agreement of traditional Chinese medicine for each model was lower than that of Western medicine. The induced ovarian cancer model had a high degree of clinical agreement and was similar to human ovarian cancer in terms of tumor growth pattern， disease progression and complications， which is an ideal animal model of ovarian cancer. Although this animal model can simulate the etiology and pathogenesis of ovarian cancer to a certain extent and reflect some indicators of traditional Chinese and Western medicine， it lacks differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes. ConclusionOn the basis of the original model， the animal model of ovarian cancer was added with Qi deficiency syndrome， blood deficiency syndrome， Qi stagnation syndrome， blood stasis syndrome， heat-toxin syndrome， and Yang deficiency syndrome to establish an animal model combining traditional Chinese medicine disease and syndrome of ovarian cancer， which could better simulate the clinical actual situation of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and lay a solid foundation for the study of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine for the treatment of ovarian cancer.

Background::T-cell-mediated immunity is crucial for the effective clearance of viral infection, but the T-cell-mediated immune responses that are induced by booster doses of inactivated severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH) remain unclear.Methods::Forty-five PLWH who had received antiretroviral therapy (ART) for more than two years and 29 healthy controls (HCs) at Beijing Youan Hospital were enrolled to assess the dynamic changes in T-cell responses between the day before the third vaccine dose (week 0) and 4 or 12 weeks (week 4 or week 12) after receiving the third dose of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. Flow cytometry, enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISpot), and multiplex cytokines profiling were used to assess T-cell responses at the three timepoints in this study.Results::The results of the ELISpot and activation-induced marker (AIM) assays showed that SARS-CoV-2-specific T-cell responses were increased in both PLWH and HCs after the third dose of the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, and a similar magnitude of immune response was induced against the Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant compared to the wild-type strain. In detail, spike-specific T-cell responses (measured by the ELISpot assay for interferon γ [IFN-γ] release) in both PLWH and HCs significantly increased in week 4, and the spike-specific T-cell responses in HCs were significantly stronger than those in PLWH 4 weeks after the third vaccination. In the AIM assay, spike-specific CD4 + T-cell responses peaked in both PLWH and HCs in week 12. Additionally, significantly higher spike-specific CD8 + T-cell responses were induced in PLWH than in HCs in week 12. In PLWH, the release of the cytokines interleukin-2 (IL-2), tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and IL-22 by peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) that were stimulated with spike peptides increased in week 12. In addition, the levels of IL-4 and IL-5 were higher in PLWH than in HCs in week 12. Interestingly, the magnitude of SARS-CoV-2-specific T-cell responses in PLWH was negatively associated with the extent of CD8 + T-cell activation and exhaustion. In addition, positive correlations were observed between the magnitude of spike-specific T-cell responses (determined by measuring IFN-γ release by ELISpot) and the amounts of IL-4, IL-5, IL-2 and IL-17F. Conclusions::Our findings suggested that SARS-CoV-2-specific T-cell responses could be enhanced by the booster dose of inactivated COVID-19 vaccines and further illustrate the importance of additional vaccination for PLWH.

Objective:To determine the median effective dose (ED 50) of remimazolam for preoperative sedation in pediatric patients of different ages. Methods:This was a prospective study. American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status classification I or Ⅱ pediatric patients, aged 1-6 yr, scheduled for elective surgery in our hospital from July to December 2023, in whom the preoperative anxiety was still not relieved after non-drug intervention (preoperative separation anxiety score [PSAS]≥3), were selected. According to the age, the children were divided into 1-<2 yr group, 2-<3 yr group, 3-<4 yr group, 4-<5 yr group and 5-6 yr group. A child's PSAS score = 1 at the time of separation from parents was classified as satisfactory sedation, and a PSAS score ≥ 2 was classified as unsatisfactory sedation. The initial dose of remimazolam in each group was 0.3 mg/kg, dose ratio 1.15. If the child was satisfactorily sedated, the next patient received a lower dose of remimazolam, or conversely if the child was not satisfactorily sedated, a higher dose was given in the next patient. The test was ended when 7 alternating waveforms appeared. The Dixon-Massey method was used to calculate the ED 50 and 95% confidence interval. Results:In 1-<2 yr group, 2-<3 yr group, 3-<4 yr group, 4-<5 yr group and 5-6 yr group, a total of 120 children were included in this study, with 26, 23, 21, 27 and 23 cases, respectively, and the ED 50 (95% confidence interval) of remimazolam for preoperative sedation was 0.152 (0.126-0.178), 0.159 (0.135-0.183), 0.171 (0.147-0.196), 0.150 (0.126-0.174), and 0.146 (0.121-0.170) mg/kg, respectively. There was no significant difference between the groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The ED 50 of remimazolam for preoperative sedation is 0.152, 0.159, 0.171, 0.150 and 0.146 mg/kg for every 1 yr in children aged 1-6 yr, and the age factor does not affect the preoperative sedative effect of remimazolam in children of this age group.

【Objective】 To explore the research status, hot spots and trends of platelet rich plasma (PRP). 【Methods】 With "platelet rich plasma (PRP)" and its Chinese equivalent as the subject words, the PRP related articles during January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2022 from PubMed and CNKI database were retrieved. The bibliometric analysis was performed by Bicomb 2.0 software to extract the annual number of literature publications, authors, journals and high-frequency theme words/sub theme words. The gCLUTO software was used to evaluate and visualize the results, and strategic diagram was drawn according to the results of biclustering. 【Results】 A total of 9 066 PRP related articles were retrieved (7 027 from PubMed, 2 039 from CNKI), and the number of publications showed an increasing trend year by year. Papers have been published in 1 527 journals in PubMed, among which the journal with the highest number of publications was Arthroscopy: Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery (175 articles), followed by American Journal of Sports Medicine (171 articles ) and Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (121 articles) . PRP-related studies were published in 541 journals in CNKI, with the top 3 journals as Chinese Tissue Engineering Research (113 articles), Chinese Aesthetic Medicine (64 articles) and Chinese Journal of Blood Transfasion (45 articles) . In Pubmed, Anitua Eduardo (84 articles), Filardo Giuseppe (53 articles) and Cole Brian J (44 articles) were the top three productive authors on PRP; Cheng Biao from the General Hospital of Southern Theater Command of Chinese PLA was the most productive Chinese author (25 articles) . Shan Guiqiu from the General Hospital of the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army published the most articles(29 articles) in CNKI. American journals published the most articles (2 745 articles ), accounting for 39.06% of the total articles, followed by British and Swiss journals, with 1 499 articles and 550 articles, respectively. A total of 42 high-frequency subject words/sub-subject words were selected from PubMed, and were classified into 6 roups, while 30 high-frequency subject words were selected from CNKI and grouped into 5 categories. The strategic coordinates show that the treatment of rotator cuff and tendon injury with PRP in PubMed, the study of PRP and tissue engineering materials in CNKI are the core themes of current PRP research. 【Conclusion】 The strategic coordinate map and bibliometrics can reveal the current research status of PRP and predict future research hotspots, but current research cores of PubMed and CNKI are not consistent, and further research is still needed.

BACKGROUND: T-cell immunoreceptor with immunoglobulin and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibition motif domains (TIGIT), an inhibitory receptor expressed on T cells, plays a dysfunctional role in antiviral infection and antitumor activity. However, it is unknown whether TIGIT expression on T cells influences the immunological effects of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) inactivated vaccines. METHODS: Forty-five people living with HIV (PLWH) on antiretroviral therapy (ART) for more than two years and 31 healthy controls (HCs), all received a third dose of a SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine, were enrolled in this study. The amounts, activation, proportion of cell subsets, and magnitude of the SARS-CoV-2-specific immune response of TIGIT + CD4 + and TIGIT + CD8 + T cells were investigated before the third dose but 6 months after the second vaccine dose (0W), 4 weeks (4W) and 12 weeks (12W) after the third dose. RESULTS: Compared to that in HCs, the frequency of TIGIT + CD8 + T cells in the peripheral blood of PLWH increased at 12W after the third dose of the inactivated vaccine, and the immune activation of TIGIT + CD8 + T cells also increased. A decrease in the ratio of both T naïve (T N ) and central memory (T CM ) cells among TIGIT + CD8 + T cells and an increase in the ratio of the effector memory (T EM ) subpopulation were observed at 12W in PLWH. Interestingly, particularly at 12W, a higher proportion of TIGIT + CD8 + T cells expressing CD137 and CD69 simultaneously was observed in HCs than in PLWH based on the activation-induced marker assay. Compared with 0W, SARS-CoV-2-specific TIGIT + CD8 + T-cell responses in PLWH were not enhanced at 12W but were enhanced in HCs. Additionally, at all time points, the SARS-CoV-2-specific responses of TIGIT + CD8 + T cells in PLWH were significantly weaker than those of TIGIT - CD8 + T cells. However, in HCs, the difference in the SARS-CoV-2-specific responses induced between TIGIT + CD8 + T cells and TIGIT - CD8 + T cells was insignificant at 4W and 12W, except at 0W. CONCLUSIONS TIGIT expression on CD8 + T cells may hinder the T-cell immune response to a booster dose of an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, suggesting weakened resistance to SARS-CoV-2 infection, especially in PLWH. Furthermore, TIGIT may be used as a potential target to increase the production of SARS-CoV-2-specific CD8 + T cells, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of vaccination.

Background In recent years, ozone (O₃) has gradually become a key air pollutant affecting public health. Studies have been conducted to evaluate O₃ pollution-associated disease burden for general population, but there is a lack of research on O₃ pollution-associated disease burden of gestational complications. Objective To assess the disease burden of O₃ pollution on pregnancy complications in the Yangtze River Delta region and the changes in the disease burden resulting from the improvement of O₃ pollution levels. Methods Through Chinese databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang, as well as English databases including PubMed and Web of Science, a systematic search was conducted to retrieve epidemiological studies investigating the association between O₃ exposure and pregnancy complications from January 1, 2010 to February 28, 2023. Using predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, retrieved studies were screened and assessed for heterogeneity using the Higgins I² statistic. The exposure increment was standardized to 10 µg·m⁻³, and a meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the exposure-response relationship. Spatial analysis and environmental health risk assessment were then employed, using O₃ monitoring data at national air monitoring stations, population data, and related disease burden parameters in the Yangtze River Delta region, to evaluate changes in the disease burden of pregnancy complications associated with improvements in O₃ pollution levels. Results The meta-analysis revealed a significant association between maternal O₃ exposure and increased risks of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), particularly in early pregnancy, and the related odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were 1.028 (1.002, 1.055) and 1.031 (1.023, 1.040), respectively. The cities with higher attribution fractions (AF) of GDM and HDP related to O₃ exposure in 2017 and 2020 in the Yangtze River Delta region were Xuzhou, Huaibei, Suzhou (Anhui Province), Changzhou, and Wuxi, with most cities showing a significant decrease in AF in 2020. Except for Hefei, the cases of GDM and HDP attributable to O₃ exposure in the remaining cities of the Yangtze River Delta region decreased by 16.31% to 57.41% in 2020 compared to 2017. In addition, except for Hefei, Suqian, Anqing, and Wuxi, the direct medical costs attributed to O₃ exposure in the remaining cities decreased by 1.12% to 45.36% in 2020 compared to 2017. Conclusion Exposure to O₃ during pregnancy is associated with increased risks of GDM and HDP. There are differences in the disease burden of GDM and HDP related to O₃ pollution among cities in the Yangtze River Delta region in 2017 and 2020. In 2020, compared to 2017, the disease burden in most cities is decreased.
