Objective To investigate clinical therapeutic value of combined posterior nasal nerve and anterior ethmoidal nerve ablation in patients with nasal septal deviation and moderate to severe persistent allergic rhinitis.Methods A total of 47 patients diagnosed with nasal septal deviation and moderate to severe persistent allergic rhinitis from April to December 2024 were divided into two groups.The control group(n=22)underwent septoplasty and bilateral inferior turbinate out-fracture,with postoperative symptom control managed by budesonide nasal spray.The experimental group(n=25)received the same septoplasty and turbinate surgery,supplemented by bilateral posterior nasal nerve and anterior ethmoidal nerve ablation.Symptom improvement was compared between groups by using the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire(RQLQ)scores preoperatively and3 months postoperatively.Results The operation time of the control group was(36.3±5.9)min,significantly shorter than that of the experimental group[(59.4±6.6)min,t=12.496,P=0.000].Both groups of patients showed significant improvement in VAS and PQLQ scores for nasal symptoms such as nasal congestion,runny nose,sneezing,and itching at 3 months after surgery compared to preoperative levels(all P=0.000).The mean VAS score of the four symptoms in the control group was(4.6±0.9)points at3 months after surgery,which was significantly lower than that before surgery[(6.3±1.1)points,t=9.796,P=0.000].The mean VAS score of the four symptoms in the experimental group was1.0(0.3-4.3)points at3 months after surgery,which was significantly lower than that before surgery[7.0(4.5-9.0)points,Z=-4.376,P=0.000].The improvement rate of the VAS score in the experimental group was(82.4±14.2)%,significantly higher than that in the control group[(26.9±11.7)%,t=14.510,P=0.000].At3 months after surgery,the RQLQ score of the control group[(2.3±0.8)points]was significantly lower than that before surgery[(3.3±0.8)points,t=10.055,P=0.000].The RQLQ score of the experimental group after surgery was 1.4(0.8-3.5)points,which was significantly lower than the preoperative score[3.6(1.5-6.1)points,Z=-4.373,P=0.000].The improvement rate of RQLQ score in the experimental group was(53.0±14.6)%,significantly higher than that in the control group[(30.2±13.4)%,t=5.555,P=0.000].Conclusion Postnasal nerve and anterior ethmoidal nerve ablation combined with nasal septal deviation correction can significantly improve nasal symptoms and quality of life in patients with nasal septal deviation complicated with moderate to severe allergic rhinitis compared with simple nasal septal deviation correction,but the operation time is prolonged.

Objective This study aimed at evaluating the safety and feasibility of transumbilical single site laparoscopic appendectomy (SSLA) by systematic review and Meta analysis of literature comparing with conventional tree-port laparoscopic appendectomy (CLA).Methods The articles published from January 2000 to December 2012 were searched from electronic databases of PubMed,Embase,and the Cochrane Library.The literature with comparative studies of SSLA with CLA for adult patients was selected.And,the systematic review and Meta analysis carried out using Stata software.Results Eleven articles with 998 cases receiving operation during March 2008 to October 2011 were enrolled into study.There were 435 cases with SSLA and 563 cases with CLA.Compared the cases with SSLA and cases with CLA,there was no difference significantly in operative time (z =1.48,P =0.140),pain score in the 24 hours after surgery (z =0.83,P =0.409),diet start(z =0.38,P =0.707),postoperative complications (z =0.46,P =0.647),hospital stay (z =0.36,P =0.722).Conclusions SSLA are not different in operative time,postoperative pain,diet start,postoperative complications,hospital time comparing with that in CLA.

The etiology of familial gastric cancer (FGC) are E-cadherin (CDH1) mutations,helicobacter pylori infection,etc.The median age of patients with FGC is 50-65 years old.The male-female sex ratio is 2 ∶ 1.The most of tumors of FGC locate in distal stomach and present diffuse type in histological classification.It is reported that the people who has a family history of gastric cancer especially for those parents has an increased risk of gastric cancer.It is difficult to find FGC in early stage by current technology.The preventive methods include eradication of helicobacter pylori and prophylactic total gastrectomy,etc.

A case of large artificial teeth in hypopharynx and upper esophagus was reported. Physical signs of laryngeal obstruction were detected. CT showed foreign body in right pyriform sinus. Acute tracheotomy was performed before removal of the large foreign body with the help of esophagoscope and mouth-gag.

Objective To evaluate the effect of the gastric signet ring cell cancer(SIG)on the T,N,M stages. Methods Three hundred and fifty-one patients undergoing D2 or greater gastrectomy for gastric cancer were ana lyzed retrospectively.The T,N,M stages of 59 patients with SIG and 161 patients with tubular adenocarcmonla (TUB)were compared using univariate and multivariate analysis.Results The chi-square test showed that there were not significant differences in T,N,M stages between TUB and SIG.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that SIG Was not a independent factor influencing the T,N.M stage.Conclusion Gastric cancer with SIG has not higher T,N,M stages than that with TUB.

Objective: To investigate the effect of polypeptide extract from scorpion venom (PESV) on the matrix metalloproteinase2（MMP2）and matrix metalloproteinase9（MMP9）expression in leukemia-NOD/SCID mice, and the intervention mechanism of PESV in the multiplication and infiltration of leukemic cells thereof. Methods: In order to establish the animal model of outer marrow infiltration of human leukemia，bone marrow mononuclear cells of leukemia patients, irradiated 270 cGy on body by ~(137)Cs, were injected into NOD/SCID mice. The mice were randomly divided into five groups. The groups I, II and III were treated with different concentrations of PESV. Group Ⅳ was the model group injected by the normal saline solution. GroupⅤ was taken as control. The peripheral white blood cell count and blood smear were observed in groups. All of the mice were killed after four-week observation and MMP2 and MMP9 expressions were examined using Real timePCRmethod. Results: The expression levels of MMP2 and MMP9 were significantly lower in group I, group II and group III than that of the model group(P < 0.05). The expression levels of MMP2 and MMP9 were related to the concentration of PESV. Moreover, the peripheral white blood cell count and blood smear were more normal in mice treated with PESV than those of mice of model group. Conclusion: PESV inhibited the overexpression of MMP2 and MMP9 in leukemia-NOD/SCID mice, which significantly inhibited the multiplication and infiltration of leukemic cells.
