Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and risk factors of an outbreak of influenza A H1N1 in a specialized psychiatric hospital in Shantou City,Guangdong Province, provide scientific basis for the pre-vention and control of respiratory infectious diseases in psychiatric health institutions. Methods Data of infection cases in this hospital in May 1-27,2024 were collected with on-site epidemiological investigation method, and were analyzed with descriptive epidemiological methods. The specimens of the cases were performed nucleic acid testing by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)method.Results A total of 43 influenza-like cases in this outbreak have been reported, with an incidence of 16.67%,including 42 hospitalized patients and 1 healthcare worker.Among the 42 hospitalized patients, there were 41 males, with an incidence of 35.04%and 1 female with an incidence of 2.22%,there was a statistically significant difference in incidence between hospitalized patients of different genders(x2=18.23,P<0.001).The epidemic curve shows that after the first case appeared on May 8,2024,the number of cases increased significantly from May 13,and reached its peak on May 17(n=17).31 pa-tients' throat swab specimens were collected, out of which 29(93.55%)were positive for influenza A H1N1 virus nucleic acid and 2(6.45%)were negative. Conclusion This epidemic is an outbreak of influenza A H1N1 in a psy-chiatric health institution, the epidemic curve shows a point source human-to-human transmission mode.Failure to effectively identify and isolate cases in the early stage can lead to the spread of the epidemic across floors and wards. It is necessary to regularly organize hospitalized patients and healthcare workers to receive influenza vaccines,strict-ly implement the health monitoring system, strengthen the control of external personnel, and enhance the early de-tection and emergency response capabilities for infectious disease outbreaks.

Pituitary tumors are usually benign but can occasionally exhibit hormonal and proliferative behaviors. Dysregulation of the G1/S restriction point largely contributes to the over-proliferation of pituitary tumor cells. F-box protein S-phase kinase-interacting protein-2 (SKP2) reportedly targets and inhibits the expression of p27(Kip1), a well-known negative regulator of G1 cell cycle progression. In this study, SKP2 expression was found to be upregulated while p27(Kip1) expression was determined to be downregulated in rat and human pituitary tumor cells. Furthermore, SKP2 knockdown induced upregulation of p27(Kip1) and cell growth inhibition in rat and human pituitary tumor cells, while SKP2overexpression elicited opposite effects on p27(Kip1) expression and cell growth. The expression of microRNA-186 (miR-186) was reported to be reduced in pituitary tumors. Online tools predicted SKP2 to be a direct downstream target of miR-186, which was further confirmed by luciferase reporter gene assays. Moreover, miR-186 could modulate the cell proliferation and p27(Kip1)-mediated cell cycle alternation of rat and human pituitary tumor cells through SKP2. As further confirmation of these findings, miR-186 and p27(Kip1) expression were downregulated, while SKP2 expression was upregulated in human pituitary tumor tissue samples; thus, SKP2 expression negatively correlated with miR-186 and p27(Kip1) expression. In contrast, miR-186 expression positively associated with p27(Kip1) expression. Taken together, we discovered a novel mechanism by which miR-186/SKP2 axis modulates pituitary tumor cell proliferation through p27(Kip1)-mediated cell cycle alternation.

Objective:
To investigate the association between blood lipid and calcaneus bone mineral density (BMD) in children and adolescents aged 6-16 years in Beijing.
Methods:
Children and adolescents were selected in 30 schools (8 primary schools, 21 middle schools and one 12-year education school) from Dongcheng, Tongzhou, Fangshan and Miyun districts of Beijing by using a stratified cluster sampling method from November 2017 to January 2018. A total of 14 303 students in grade 1 to 4 of primary school, grade 1 of junior and senior middle school were enrolled after excluding subjects who were not able to participate into this study due to trauma or other uncomfortable physical conditions or with missing key values or with diabetes and kidney diseases. Questionnaire survey, blood lipid and calcaneus BMD were conducted. Multivariate linear regression was applied to quantify the association between calcaneal BMD as a dependent variable and blood lipid level as an independent variable after adjusting for the potential confounding factors. Furthermore, quantile regression was used to analyze the association between blood lipid level and different percentiles (

Objective To investigate the association between blood lipid and calcaneus bone mineral density (BMD) in children and adolescents aged 6-16 years in Beijing. Methods Children and adolescents were selected in 30 schools (8 primary schools, 21 middle schools and one 12?year education school) from Dongcheng, Tongzhou, Fangshan and Miyun districts of Beijing by using a stratified cluster sampling method from November 2017 to January 2018. Furthermore, quantile regression was used to analyze the association between blood lipid level and different percentiles (P25, P50 and P75) of ultrasonic velocity values of bone mineral density, and parallel test was conducted for regression coefficients of different percentiles. Results A total of 14 303 participants aged (11.4 ± 3.3) years (49.9% boys) were involved in the analysis. The mean age of 14 303 participants was (11.0±3.3) years. 7 142 boys accounted for 49.9%. The mean±SD of calcaneal BMD, total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein?cholesterol (LDL?C), and high density lipoprotein?cholesterol (HDL?C) were (1 540.9±33.8) m/s, (3.90±0.76), (2.18±0.62), and (1.40±0.32) mmol/L, respectively. The P50 (P25, P75) of triglyceride (TG) was 0.69 (0.49-0.94) mmol/L. After the adjustment of age, height, smoking, drinking, vitamin D and calcium supplementation, dairy intake, physical activity, FMI, and MMI, a significantly inverse association (P<0.05) between TG level and calcaneus BMD was observed in both genders, which the regression coefficients (95%CI ) in boys and girls were -0.064 (-0.085,-0.044) and-0.073 (-0.094,-0.053), respectively. Conclusion The level of BMD was associated with TG in boys and girls. Therefore, it is important to prevent children from hypertriglyceridemia for the bone health promotion.
