Objective::To build a reference fetal growth chart for the Chinese population based on fetal ultrasound measurements.Methods::This was a multicenter, population-based retrospective cohort study. Longitudinal ultrasound measurement data were collected from 24 hospitals in 18 provinces of China from 1 st September through 31 st October of 2019. The estimated fetal weight (EFW) was calculated based on head circumference, abdominal circumference, and femur length using Hadlock formula 3. Fetal growth curves were estimated using a two-level linear regression model with cubic splines. All participants were divided into two groups: the northern group ( n = 5829) and the southern group ( n = 3246) based on the geographical division of China and male fetus group ( n = 4775) and female fetus group ( n = 4300) based on fetal gender. The EFW was compared by fetal gender and geographical group. All statistical models were adjusted for maternal sociodemographic characteristics. Results::A total of 9075 participants with 31,700 ultrasound measurement records were included in this study. Male fetuses demonstrated significantly larger EFW compared to female ones starting at 16 weeks of gestation and extending to delivery (global test P < 0.01). The overall geographic difference in EFW was significant (global test P = 0.03), and week-specific comparisons showed that the northern group had a greater EFW starting at 15 weeks of gestation and extending to 29 weeks of gestation, although this difference did not extend to the time of delivery. The Z-score of EFW confirmed that our Chinese fetal growth charts differed from previously published standards. Conclusion::This study provides EFW and ultrasound biometric reference measurements for Chinese fetuses and reveals differences from other fetal growth charts. The chart is worth promoting in more regions of China but should be tested prudently before use.

Objective:To summarize the patient profiles and therapeutic efficacies of ABO-incompatible living-related kidney transplantations at 19 domestic transplant centers and provide rationales for clinical application of ABOi-KT.Methods:Clinical cases of ABO-incompatible/compatible kidney transplantation (ABOi-KT/ABOc-KT) from December 2006 to December 2009 were collected. Then, statistical analyses were conducted from the aspects of tissue matching, perioperative managements, complications and survival rates of renal allograft or recipients. Results:Clinical data of 342 ABOi-KT and 779 ABOc-KT indicated that (1) no inter-group differences existed in age, body mass index (BMI), donor-recipient relationship or waiting time of pre-operative dialysis; (2) ABO blood type: blood type O recipients had the longest waiting list and transplantations from blood type A to blood type O accounted for the largest proportion; (3) HLA matching: no statistical significance existed in mismatch rate or positive rate of PRA I/II between two types of surgery; (4) CD20 should be properly used on the basis of different phrases; (5) hemorrhage was a common complication during an early postoperative period and microthrombosis appeared later; (6) no difference existed in postoperative incidence of complications or survival rate of renal allograft and recipients at 1/3/5/10 years between ABOi-KT and ABOc-KT. The acute rejection rate and serum creatinine levels of ABOi-KT recipients were comparable to those of ABOc-KT recipients within 1 year.Conclusions:ABOi-KT is both safe and effective so that it may be applied at all transplant centers as needed.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of gut microbiota in patients with schizophrenia. Methods The composition of the fecal microbiota in 16 schizophrenia patients and 20 healthy controls was analyzed by 16S rRNA sequencing. Results At the phylum level, TM7 was increased in the patients (P<0.05). At the class level, the abundance of Peptostreptococcaceae, Lactobacillaceae and Actinomycetaceae in the patients increased (P<0.05), whereas the abundance of Tissierellaceae decreased relative to health controls (P<0.05). At the genus level, Actinomyces, Scardovia, Atopobium, Moryella, G07 and Lactobacillus were increased in the patients relative to healthy controls (P<0.05). Prediction of functional properties of bacterial flora showed that the metabolic pathways of fatty acids and pyruvate were different between the patients and healthy controls (P<0.05). Conclusion The present study reveals an alteration in the characteristics of gut microbiota in schizophrenia patients which may be an auxiliary diagnosis marker for clinical diagnosis of schizophrenia.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the value of en-bloc mesogastric excision (EME) in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer.
METHODSA retrospective analysis on clinical data of 98 gastric cancer patients who underwent total gastrectomy in China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University from January 2013 to December 2015 was carried out, including EME group of 48 cases (according to the mesangial space) and D2 radical group of 50 cases(D2 lymphadenectomy according to the vascular markers). Operations were performed by the same single surgeon team. Surgical indexes and recent efficacy indexes were compared between two groups.
RESULTSGeneral informations pertaining to two groups were comparable (P>0.05). All the operations were performed successfully. Compared with D2 radical group, EME group had a shorter operative time [(155.3±13.6) vs. (171.2±14.9) minutes, P=0.012] and less intraoperative blood loss [(95.1±19.5) vs.(122.6±28.0) milliliters, P=0.011]. There were no significant differences in the number of harvested lymph node (30.8±3.9 vs. 31.5±4.7, P=0.675), time to postoperative bowel function return [(3.2±1.2) vs.(3.9±1.4) days, P=0.179], postoperative hospital stay [(10.9±2.7) vs.(11.3±3.2) days, P=0.788], and the incidence of postoperative complication [8.3% vs. 10.0%, P=0.775]. During the follow-up of 1 year, all the patients had no long-term complications, no tumor recurrence or death.
CONCLUSIONSFor advanced gastric cancer, EME result in the same clinical efficacy compared with standard D2 resection. At the same time, EME can shorten the operative time and reduce the intraoperative blood loss, which is a new technology and worthy promoting.
