Basilar artery pseudoaneurysm (BAPA) is an extremely rare yet life-threatening intracranial vascular lesion, characterized by insidious clinical onset and a remarkably high mortality risk upon rupture. In this case report, we describe a patient who was admitted to our department with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Emergency digital subtraction angiography performed on admission revealed no vascular anomalies. One month after SAH onset, a comprehensive multimodal imaging evaluation ultimately confirmed the diagnosis of BAPA. Given the technical challenges in conventional management for this specific case, Traxcess-14 microguidewire-assisted endovascular electrocoagulation was performed as a last-resort therapy. Finally, follow-up imaging at 6 months demonstrated complete resolution of BAPA. Thus, we propose that Traxcess-14 microguidewire-assisted endovascular electrocoagulation may serve as a potential salvage treatment for highly selective BAPA cases in which conventional therapeutic approaches are unfeasible or have failed.

Objective To investigate the role of lncRNA PTENP1 in regulating TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Methods Eca109 and TE-1 cells were treated with TGF-β1, and the expression of PTENP1 was detected by qRT-PCR before and after treatment. PTENP1-overexpressing stably transfected cell lines were constructed in Eca109 and TE-1 cells. The effects of overexpression of PTENP1 on TGF-β1-induced migration, proliferation and EMT-related proteins expression in Eca109 and TE-1 cells were detected by Transwell assay, CCK-8 test and Western blot, respectively. Results The expression of PTENP1 was significantly decreased in Eca109 and TE-1 cells treated with TGF-β1 (P < 0.05). Overexpression of PTENP1 significantly prevented cell migration, decreased the cell vitality, upregulated the E-cadherin expression, and downregulated the expression of N-cadherin and vimentin in Eca109 and TE-1 cells (P < 0.05). Furthermore, PTENP1 overexpression attenuated TGF-β-induced migration of Eca109 and TE-1 cells. PTENP1 overexpression partially reversed TGF-β-induced EMT (P < 0.05). Conclusion PTENP1 plays an important role in TGF-β-induced EMT in ESCC cells.

Objective:To explore the effects of mechanical factors on the morphology of the growth plate and proximal femur development, in order to provide a mechanical basis for the mechanism of Cam lesions in femoral acetabular impingement (FAI).Methods:Using CT scan data of hip joint from adolescents, we constructed three-dimensional finite element models of normal and extended proximal femoral epiphyseal growth plates. Dynamic mechanics and position data from daily activities (walk, stand on one and two feet, go upstairs and downstairs, sit and stand up, squat and stand up) and basketball layup drills were collected from five healthy volunteers using the Vicon system. The mean values of femoral head mechanical loads and positions at peak values, movement onset, and termination were selected for finite element analysis to observe the distribution of equivalent stress, normal stress, and shear stress on the two growth plate models under different activity modes.Results:Successful construction of three-dimensional finite element models for normal and extended proximal femoral epiphyseal growth plates was achieved. Mechanical load values and spatial positions of the femoral head during daily activities and layup movements were obtained. In daily activities, peak equivalent stress values for normal and extended growth plates ranged from 1.6 to 11.0 MPa; compressive stress ranged from 1.7 to 12.0 MPa; tensile stress ranged from 0.5 to 10.0 MPa; and shear force ranged from 0.4 to 7.1 MPa. The compressive stress during walking, standing on one or both feet, going up and down stairs, sitting and standing, and squatting was concentrated in the central and lateral areas; tensile stress was concentrated in the central and medial areas; shear force was concentrated in the medial area and the anterior and posterior edges of the growth plate. During a layup, the compressive stress in the center, outer upper side, and medial edge of the growth plate of the normal model was notably concentrated, with peaks fluctuating between 5.5-19.0 MPa, 5.7-11.0 MPa, and 5.4-7.3 MPa respectively; tensile stress and shear force were concentrated at the inner and outer edges as well as in the central area, with peaks fluctuating between 3.0-24.0 MPa and 3.0-26.0 MPa respectively, these values were significantly different from those observed during daily activities. For the elongated growth plate, compressive stress was concentrated at the central and lateral edges with peaks fluctuating between 17.0-41.0 MPa and 17.0-38.0 MPa respectively; simulated shear stress and tensile stress showed significant concentration at peaks fluctuating between 4.9-34.0 MPa, also significantly different from those observed during daily activities.Conclusion:The difference in mechanical distribution between daily activities, basketball layup training, as well as between normal and extended growth plates may be the mechanical initiating factor in the development of extended growth plates and the formation of Cam lesions, it may be the mechanical initiating factor for the development of extended growth plates and the collision of Cam lesions in FAI.

Objective This study examined the prevalence of underweight and its related risk factors of community-dwelling patients with schizophrenia. Methods Five hundred and three community-dwelling patients with schizophrenia and 323 healthy controls were recruited in a cross-sectional study. Body mass index less than 18.5 was defined as underweight. Their demographic and clinical data including anthropometric data, plasma glucose and lipid parameters were collected. The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) was used to assess patients' psychopathology. Results The prevalence of underweight was 9.9% (50/503) in schizophrenia patients versus 1.5% (5/323) in the control group ( P<0.01). Further logistic regression analysis showed that male ( OR=2.43, 95%CI:1.74~3.39), smoking behavior (OR=1.50, 95%CI: 1.21~1.86), hospitalization times (OR=1.18, 95% CI: 1.06~1.31), PANSS negative score (OR=1.09, 95% CI: 1.04~1.14) were significant predictors for underweight (all P<0.05). Conclusion The prevalence of underweight is higher in Chinese patients with schizophrenia than in the general population. Some demographic and clinical variables are risk factors for underweight in schizophrenia.

Objective To compare cognitive function and alexithymia between the schizophrenic patients treated with chlorpromazine and those treated with clozapine. Methods The patients with schizophrenia in stable condition that received maintenance treatment either with chlorpromazine or clozapine and normal control subjects were recruited (n=24 per group). Neuropsychological tests, including Digit Vigilance Test, Controlled Oral Word Association Test, Trail Making Test-A&B (TMT-A&B), Animal Naming Test, Stroop Color-Word Test, Block Design and Spatial Span Test were used to assess the participant’s cognitive function. The twenty-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) were used to evaluate the participant’s alexithymia. Results The significant differences were found between the patients and the controls in all items of cognitive function and all factor scores of TAS-20 (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in all items of cognitive function and all factor scores of TAS-20 between chlorpromazine group and clozapine group (P>0.05). Multivari? ate linear regression analysis showed that in the clozapine group, attention function associated with the total score of TAS (β=-0.20, P<0.05), executive function associated with TAS factor 1 (β=-0.26, P=0.03), spatial function associated with TAS factor 2 (β=-0.24, P<0.01). In the chlorpromazine group, attention function associated with TAS factor 2 (β=-1.24, P<0.01), executive function associated with TAS factor 2 (β=-0.33, P=0.02). Conclusions Patients with schizophrenia in maintenance period have widely cognitive impairment and alexithymia, both of which are related to each other.

There is currently no reference for intake of lysine for Chinese people; therefore, the present study was conducted to determine the lysine requirement of Chinese young male adults on a habitual Chinese mixed diet based on the modified indicator amino acid oxidation method. Seven young men with a mean age of 23.7 +/- 2.2 years that were healthy based on questionnaire, physical examinations and screening tests were evaluated. Subjects were evaluated over five consecutive 7 day periods, during which time they were administered decreasing amounts of lysine via the diet (65, 55, 45, 35, 25 mg.kg-1.d-1). Subjects were allowed to adapt from day 1 to 6 and the isotopes were measured on day 7 in each period. The subjects' body weights, body compositions and plasma proteins were also examined during the study. Amino acid kinetics were measured based on the indicator amino acid oxidation technique using the 13CO2 release rate and phenylalanine oxidation rate to estimate lysine requirements. Body weights, body compositions, and plasma proteins of subjects did not change significantly relative to those at baseline. The mean and the upper 95% CI of lysine requirements of Chinese habitual diets were determined to be 58.41 and 70.09 mg.kg-1.d-1, respectively, based on the 13CO2 release rate and 54.28 and 65.14 mg.kg-1.d-1, respectively, based on the phenylalanine oxidation rate.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of humanistic nursing among maternal. Methods 240 maternal from the department of obstetric during November 2012 November 2013 were randomly divided into two groups.Data of 120 maternal undergoing humanized nursing, were compared to a control group of 120 patients who underwent routine nursing care.Results The first stages of laboring in the two groups were (6.1 ±1.2),(8.9 ±0.9).The second stage of laboring in the two groups were(0.9 ±0.6),(1.5 ±0.3), and the differences were statistically significant (t=5.86,7.08, respectively;P<0.01).The mastering rate on nursing knowledge ,breast-feeding and self-care were 98.3%,93.3% and 85.8% in the experimental group, higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (χ2 =4.669, 7.467, 4.471, respectively;P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the experimental group and the control group was 99.2%, 85.8%, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2 =6.15,P<0.05) .Conclusions It is worth to apply for the humanized nursing can make the labor shorter, and improve the mastering rate on nursing knowledge and nursing satisfaction.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of a quantitative detection of K-ras mutation in samples from endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA)of pancreatic cancer.Methods Samples taken by EUS-FNA from 53 pancreatic occupying lesions were collected, and the copies of wild-type and mutated K-ras gene was measured by PNA-clamping real-time quantitative PCR. The results were analyzed with refer to cytological findings to evaluate its clinical values. Results According to cytological finding, a total of 37 cases were diagnosed as pancreatic cancer, and 16 were non-malignant lesions. Kras mutation was detected in 83.8% of cancer cases, and 18. 8% of non-cancer cases, which was significantly different ( P ＜0. 05 ). Sensitivities of cytology and K-ras examination were 59. 5% and 83.8%, respectively, while that of combination of cytology and K-ras examination was 89. 2%. Conclusion Quantitative analysis of the mutant K-ras gene in samples taken by EUS-FNA is a useful tool for diagnosing the pancreatic carcinoma.

Objective To detect the microRNAs in fecal with patients of pancreatic cancer, and evaluate its diagnostic value. Methods Stool samples were collected from three group persons including 29 pancreatic cancer, 22 chronic pancreatitis and 13 normal controls. The total fecal microRNAs were extracted.The quantity of miR-16, miR-21, miR-155, miR-181a, miR-181b, miR-196a, and miR-210 were detected by using real-time PCR, and miR-16 was used as reference gene. ROC AUC was used to evaluate the diagnostic value for pancreatic cancer. Results MicroRNAs were efficiently obtained from stools, and independent experiments showed high reproducibility for microRNAs extraction and detection. The expression of miR-181b,miR-196a, miR-210 in fecal was 2.22 ±0.64,2.78 ±0.14, 5.55 ±0.38 in pancreatic cancer; 1.42 ±0.39,3.88 ± 0.85,5.39 ± 0.69 in chronic pancreatitis; 0.32 ± 0.40, 1.14 ± 0.98,4.23 ± 0. 99 in normal controls;the three microRNA expressions in pancreatic cancer were group and CP group significantly higher than those in normal controls ( P ＜ 0.05 ). But there was no significant difference between pancreatic cancer group and chronic pancreatitis group. AUC of pancreatic cancer / normal controls miR 18lb was 0.745(95% CI 0. 597-0.894), the sentivity, specificity for pancreatic cancer was 84.6% and 51.7%. AUC of miR-210 was 0. 772(95% CI0.629-0.914), the sentivity, specificity for pancreatic cancer was 84.6% and 65.5%, and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜0.05). miR-196a was no significant for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, but the expression of miR-196a was correlated with the tumor size (r = 0.516, P = 0.041 ).Conclusions The extraction and detection of the fecal microRNAs were non-invasive and reproducible. The expression of miR-181b and miR-210 was increased in stool of patients with pancreatic cancer, and may be potential biomarker for pancreatic cancer.

Objective To quantitatively analyze the K-ras gene mutation at codon 12 in pancreatic cancer tissues and the relationship between K-ras gene mutation and clinicopathological parameters. Methods Quantitative detection of K-ras gene at codon 12 in 93 pairs of pancreatic cancer and adjacent tissues were performed by using PNA-mediated PCR clamping with two different fluorescence labeled probes. The quantity of mutation was expressed by percentage of mutation. The percentage of K-ras gene mutation = the copy of K-ras mutation/(copy of wild type K-ras + copy of K-ras mutation) × 100%. Results The percentage of mutation of K-ras gene at codon 12 in pancreatic cancer and adjacent tissues were 83.9% and 65.6%, and the difference was statistically significant(P ＜ 0. 05); and the quantity of mutation were (13.385 ± 1. 745) % and (2. 246 ±0. 728) %, and the difference was also statistically significant(P ＜ 0. 05). The quantity of mutation of K-ras gene at codon 12 was not associated with clinicopathological parameters. Conclusions The percentage of K-ras gene mutation, as well as the quantity of K-ras gene mutation was different in pancreatic carcinoma and adjacent tissues.
