Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2025;33(4):313-319
Objective:
To evaluate and compare the accuracy of responses to pediatric preventive dentistry-related questions between the domestic large language model, ChatGLM-6B, and the international large language model, ChatGPT-3.5, in order to provide insights for further research and development of domestic language models in the field of oral medicine.
Methods:
A total of 100 common pediatric preventive dentistry questions of varying difficulty levels [basic (n = 35), intermediate (n = 35), and advanced (n = 30) ] were provided by pediatric preventive dentistry experts. Two doctors independently registered these questions with ChatGPT-3.5 and ChatGLM-6B and collected the answers. A cohort of 16 dentists assessed responses generated by ChatGLM-6B and ChatGPT-3.5 using a predefined 3-point Likert scale. The average score of the ratings from 16 doctors was taken as the answer score. If the answer score was higher than 2.8, it was accepted as a accurate answer; if the score was lower than 1.4, it was accepted as an inaccurate answer; if the score was between 1.4 and 2.8, it was accepted as a partially accurate answer. Comparative analysis was conducted on the accuracy rates and evaluation outcomes between the two groups. Consistency analysis of the ratings was conducted
Results:
The answer accuracy rates of ChatGPT-3.5 and ChatGLM-6B for 100 pediatric preventive dentistry questions were comparable: ChatGPT-3.5 demonstrated 68% accurate, 30% partially accurate, and 2% inaccurate responses, while ChatGLM-6B showed 67% accurate, 31% partially accurate, and 2% inaccurate responses, with no statistically significant differences (P>0.05). Both models exhibited equivalent accuracy across questions of varying difficulty levels (basic, intermediate, advanced), showing no statistical differences (P>0.05). The overall average scores for ChatGPT3.5 and ChatGLM-6B in answering all questions were both 2.65, with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). For questions of different difficulty levels, ChatGPT3.5 had an average score of 2.66 for basic questions while ChatGLM-6B had an average score of 2.70. For intermediate questions, ChatGPT3.5 had an average score of 2.63 and ChatGLM-6B had an average score of 2.64. For advanced questions, ChatGPT3.5 had an average score of 2.68, and ChatGLM-6B had an average score of 2.61. No statistically significant differences were observed across any difficulty category (P>0.05). The consistency of the experts’ grading ranged from fair to moderate.
Conclusion
This study demonstrates the potential of both ChatGLM-6B and ChatGPT-3.5 in answering pediatric preventive dentistry questions. ChatGLM-6B performed similarly to ChatGPT-3.5 in this field, but the accuracy rates of both models fell short of expectations and are not suitable for clinical use. Future efforts should focus on improving the accuracy and consistency of large language models in providing medical information, as well as developing specialized medical models for the field of oral medicine.

Objective To explore relationship between glucose metabolism and neonatal weight in high-risk gestational diabetes melli-tus(GDM).Method A retrospective study was conducted on 779 pregnant women who underwent prenatal examinations at Tongzhou Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital in Beijing from March to June 2022.The data on pre-pregnancy weight,mid-and late-preg-nancy glycated albumin(GA)and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),pre-delivery weight, gestational weight gain, and neonatal birth weight were collected.A GDM risk assessment model was established using multivariate logistic regression to classify pregnant women into high-risk and low-risk groups for GDM,followed by separate management strategies.Regression discontinuity(RD)analysis was applied to evaluate the relationship between gestational glucose metabolism status and neonatal birth weight. Results Among the 779 pregnant women, the overall incidence of macrosomia was 7.32%.The high-risk GDM group exhibited significantly higher pre-pregnan-cy weight,late-pregnancy HbA1c,and GA levels compared to the low-risk group(all P<0.001).Neonatal birth weight in the high-risk group was significantly higher than that in the low-risk group(P<0.05),with a significantly increased macrosomia incidence(13.55%vs 5.77%,P<0.05).RD analysis revealed a jump reduction of 199.59 g(P=0.029)in neonatal birth weight at the risk score thresh-old.Conclusion Lifestyle glucose metabolism management in high-risk GDM pregnant women may effectively reduce neonatal birth weight, mitigated the trend of excessive gestational weight gain, and improved late-pregnancy HbA1c and GA levels, providing evi-dence-based support for maternal and child health services.

Objective:To explore the trajectories of breastfeeding social support and postpartum depression from childbirth through 6 months postpartum in postpartum women. Methods:A longitudinal survey method was adopted. Using convenience sampling method, postpartum women who were hospitalized and delivered in the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China from June to July 2023 were selected. The Hughes Breastfeeding Support Scale (HBSS) and Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) were used to collect data at three times including departure (T1), 42 days postpartum (T2), and 6 months postpartum (T3). Repeated analysis of variance was used to explore the trajectories of breastfeeding social support and postpartum depression at different times, and LSD test was used for pairwise comparison. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the HBSS and EPDS.Results:Finally, 435 postpartum women completed the survey. There were 171 cases aged 20-29 years old, 237 cases aged 30-39 years old, and 27 cases aged ≥ 40 years old.The rate of exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months after delivery was 41.1%(179/435). The total score of HBSS in parturients was at a high level at T1, with a score of (84.08 ± 14.14) points, but at T2 and T3, it was at a moderate level with scores of (77.45 ± 15.29), (78.42 ± 15.97) points, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant at different time points ( F=36.59, P<0.01). The total score of EPDS in parturients at T1, T2, and T3, were (8.53 ± 4.81), (8.29 ± 5.52), (7.71 ± 5.02) points, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant at different time points ( F=6.44, P<0.01). The scores of HBSS were negatively correlated with the scores of EPDS at three times ( r=-0.345, -0.458, -0.578, all P<0.01). Conclusions:The level of breastfeeding social support and postpartum depression showed a dynamic change trend, and these two variables were negatively related. Nursing staff should strengthen the construction of social support network for breastfeeding, and implement personalized intervention measures according to the psychological characteristics of postpartum women in different stages to improve the current situation of breastfeeding.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2024;14(4):578-584
A two-photon near infrared(NIR)fluorescence turn-on sensor with high selectivity and sensitivity for Zn2+detection has been developed. This sensor exhibits a large Stokes'shift(-300 nm)and can be excited from 900 to 1000 nm,with an emission wavelength of-785 nm,making it ideal for imaging in biological tissues. The sensor's high selectivity for Zn2+over other structurally similar cations, such as Cd2+,makes it a promising tool for monitoring zinc ion levels in biological systems.Given the high concentration of zinc in thrombi, this sensor could provide a useful tool for in vivo thrombus imaging.
