Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of 0.02%atropine eye drops for the treatment of nearwork-induced transient myopia(NITM)in adolescents. Methods A total of 131 adolescents with NITM were randomly divided into experimental(receiving 0.02%atropine eye drops)and control(receiving placebo)groups.Changes in the initial NITM values before medication and at 14 and 30 days after medication were observed.Alterations in intraocular pressure and accommodation amplitude were monitored, and the occurrence of complications, such as photophobia and near vision impairment, were recorded. Results The baseline NITM did not differ significantly between the two groups. On day 14 and day 30,the NITM values in the experimental group were significantly reduced compared to the baseline, with differences of 0.31 D±0.20 D and 0.30 D±0.16 D,which were significantly greater than those in the control group(0.21 D±0.98 D and 0.20 D±0.18 D,P<0.001).The efficacy rate of NITM treatment in the experimental group was 84.4%,which was sig-nificantly higher than that in the control group(29.9%).After 30 days of treatment,no severe systemic or ocular adverse reactions were observed in the experimental group.Mild photophobia was the main adverse reaction. Conclusion 0.02%atropine eye drops can effec-tively reduce the initial NITM value in adolescents within a month of its use, with no severe complications and good tolerance.A clinical trial of atropine eye drops at different concentrations to reduce NITM over a longer period is warranted.

AIM To compare the chemical constituents in traditional decoction and formula granule decoction of classical famous prescription Wendan Decoction.METHODS The HPLC fingerprints were established, after which the contents of adenosine,synephrine,liquiritin,naringin,hesperidin,6-gingerol and adenosine cyclophosphate were determined, cluster analysis, principal component analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis were adopted in the investigation of component differences, and the equivalent of formula granules was adjusted.RESULTS The similarities of HPLC fingerprints for 10 batches of traditional decoctions were higher than those of HPLC fingerprints for 9 batches of formula granule decoctions(P<0.01).Adenosine,synephrine,liquiritin,hesperidin and cyclic adenosine monophosphate demonstrated higher contents in traditional decoctions than those in formula granule decoctions(P<0.05),6-gingerol displayed lower content than that in the latter produced by manufacturers A,C(P<0.05),which was higher than that in the latter produced by manufacturer B(P<0.01).Various batches of traditional decoctions and formula granule decoctions could be obviously distinguished, adenosine, synephrine and hesperidin exhibited great influences on the classification of principal component analysis, and the quality of formula granule decoctions produced by manufacturer C was closer to that of traditional decoctions. After equivalent correction, the contents of various constituents in formula granule decoctions produced by manufacturers A,C showed no significant differences as compared with those in traditional decoction(P>0.05).CONCLUSION The formula granules of Wendan Decoction from different manufacturers exist quality differences,so the preparation process and extraction process of this preparation should be optimized to improve quality, and equivalent ratio should be adjusted according to actual requirements to ensure its scientific and rational clinical application.

Aim To investigate the role of triggering receptor expressed on myeloidcells 2(TREM2)in syn-aptic plasticity induced by cocaine addiction. Methods C57BL/6J mice and Trem2 knockout mice were uti-lized in this study to evaluate the alterations in postsyn-aptic density protein 95(PSD-95)and synapsin 1(SYN1)within the cortex and hippocampus of co-caine-addicted mice by using immunological tech-niques.Results HE staining and Nissl staining showed increased neuronal damage in the hippocampus and cortex of mice after cocaine addiction. The results of immunohistochemistry and fluorescence of PSD-95 and SYN1 were consistent with the expression trend of Western blot.In the wild type mouse model, the ex-pression level of PSD-95 in the hippocampus and cortex was lower than that in the saline group, and the ex-pression of SYN1 was higher than that in the saline group. In the knockout mouse model, the expression levels of PSD-95 and SYN1 in the hippocampus and cortex were significantly higher than those in the saline group after cocaine addiction. The expression levels of PSD-95 and SYN1 in the hippocampus and cortex of cocaine knockout mice were higher than those of co-caine wild type mice. Conclusion Cocaine addiction can change the synaptic plasticity, and TREM2 plays a regulatory role in the synaptic plasticity of hippocampus and cortex in mice with cocaine injury.TREM2 is ex-pected to be a new target for studying the mechanism of cocaine addiction.

To guide clinical blood transfusion practices for pediatric patients, the National Health Commission has issued the health standard "Guideline for pediatric transfusion" (WS/T 795-2022). Critically ill children often present with anemia and have a higher demand for transfusions compared to other pediatric patients. This guideline provides guidance and recommendations for blood transfusions in cases of general critical illness, septic shock, acute brain injury, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, non-life-threatening bleeding, and hemorrhagic shock. This article interprets the background and evidence of the blood transfusion provisions for critically ill and severely bleeding children in the "Guideline for pediatric transfusion", aiming to enhance understanding and implementation of this aspect of the guidelines. To guide clinical blood transfusion practices in pediatric patients, the National Health Commission has issued the health standard "Guideline for pediatric transfusion" (WS/T 795-2022). Children undergoing cardiac surgery are at high risk of bleeding, and the causes of perioperative anemia and coagulation disorders in neonates and children are complex and varied, often necessitating the transfusion of allogeneic blood components. This guideline provides direction and recommendations for specific measures in blood management for children undergoing cardiac surgery before, during, and after surgery. This article interprets the background and evidence for the formulation of the blood transfusion provisions for children undergoing cardiac surgery, hoping to facilitate the understanding and implementation of this guideline.
