The elimination of biofilms is a crucial step in controlling hospital-acquired infections.Once biofilms colonize luminal instruments,it is difficult to remove them using traditional disinfection methods.Conventional disinfection approaches now face a series of challenges,including microbial resistance,corrosiveness,cytotoxicity,residual disinfection byproducts,and environmental pollution.Therefore,developing novel disinfection technologies specifically targeting biofilm removal is vitally important.New disinfection technologies,such as slightly acidic electrolyzed water,plasma technology,surface modification techniques,nanomaterial-based disinfection,bacteriophage disinfection,and enzymatic disinfection,are constantly emerging.These technologies exhibit excellent performance against biofilms by leveraging the synergistic effects of multiple mechanisms,including the reactive oxygen species(ROS)burst,photocatalytic oxidation,physical disruption,and biological targeting.This review summarizes the characteristics,underlying mechanisms,and potential application scenarios of these novel disinfection technologies,with a particular focus on their effects against biofilms formed by common pathogenic bacteria on surfaces in hospital settings.It aims to provide a reference basis for the practical application and translation of these disinfection technologies and the development of new disinfection strategies.

The Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) phage, as one of the principal pathogenic bacteria of dental caries, is a main cause of the formation and development of dental caries due to its overproliferation in dental plaque biofilms. Bacterial viruses, also known as bacteriophages, have the capability of specifically infecting bacteria and effectively degrading bacterial biofilms. S. mutans phages, therefore, may prevent and control caries. Therapy based on phages has been applied in many fields, but the application of S. mutans phages in caries remains exploratory. This article will review the research progress of S. mutans phages in clinical caries prevention, aiming to provide a new idea for the clinical prevention of caries. The results of the literature review show that the living bacteriophage system has the advantages of high specificity, high affinity and good safety. However, due to its unstable structure, it can be processed into a more stable formulation by freeze-drying, spray drying, adding stability enhancers, or incorporating bacteriophages into ointments, biodegradable polymer matrices or particles to a certain extent to improve stability. The lysozyme produced by phages can digest the bacterial cell wall and release the assembled phage particles, which effectively cleave biofilms. In addition, the antigen binding fragment library for cariogenic pathogens was screened by phage display technology, and the purpose of caries prevention and treatment was achieved by passive immunization of antigen binding fragments. However, the host range of bacteriophages is narrow, so this kind of problem can be overcome by phage combined with traditional therapy or other drug use or cocktail therapy with multiple phages in clinical caries prevention and control.

Objective:To explore the application of acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ (APACHE Ⅱ) score in the timing and nursing of noninvasive ventilation for patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD).Methods:106 AECOPD patients admitted to Haikou People's Hospital from January 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the study objects. According to the method of random number table, the patients were divided into observation group and control group, with 53 patients in each group. The control group selected the timing of noninvasive ventilation treatment according to the standards of Mechanical ventilation (second edition), weaned according to Clinical practice of mechanical ventilation, and received routine nursing in intensive care unit (ICU), including creating comfortable indoor environment, reasonable diet, condition monitoring, psychological nursing and complications nursing. On the basis of the control group, the patients in the observation group were given noninvasive ventilation when APACHE Ⅱ score was more than 10, and were weaned when APACHE Ⅱ score was less than or equal to 10. According to APACHE Ⅱ score < 10, 10-14, 15-19 and ≥ 20, the patients were given level-3 care, level-2 care, level-1 care and intensive care. The pulmonary function before and 3 days after the noninvasive ventilation treatment was monitored, and the duration of mechanical ventilation, the length of ICU stay, endotracheal intubation rate, incidence of complication [ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP)] and ICU mortality were recorded. The self-designed questionnaire of nursing satisfaction was used to evaluate the patients' nursing satisfaction. Results:There was no significant difference in general data such as gender or age between the two groups. After 3 days of noninvasive ventilation, the forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC) and FEV1/FVC ratio of the two groups were increased significantly as compared with those before treatment, especially in the observation group, with statistical significances as compared with the control group [FEV1 (L): 3.02±0.22 vs. 2.54±0.19, FVC (L): 3.01±0.32 vs. 2.13±0.28, FEV1/FVC ratio: 0.89±0.08 vs. 0.79±0.08, all P < 0.05]. Compared with the control group, the duration of mechanical ventilation and length of ICU stay in the observation group were significantly shortened [duration of mechanical ventilation (days): 4.32±0.73 vs. 8.42±1.94, length of ICU stay (hours): 32.23±10.22 vs. 38.52±9.85, both P < 0.01]. The intubation rate, incidence of VAP and ICU mortality in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group [intubation rate: 1.9% (1/53) vs. 13.2% (7/53), incidence of VAP: 1.9% (1/53) vs. 15.1% (8/53), ICU mortality: 1.9% (1/53) vs. 13.2% (7/53), all P < 0.05]. The nursing satisfaction of patients in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group [96.2% (51/53) vs. 75.5% (40/53), P < 0.01]. Conclusions:APACHE Ⅱ score can be used to guide the choice of noninvasive ventilation treatment opportunity and nursing intervention measures for AECOPD patients. It can significantly improve the pulmonary function of patients, improve the treatment effect, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve the satisfaction of patients with nursing, which is effective in clinical application.

Objective: To analyze the survival time of people living with HIV/AIDS and related influencing factors in Sichuan province during 1991-2017. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze the data of 143 988 HIV/AIDS cases. The data were collected from Chinese HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Information Management System. Life table method was used to calculate the survival proportion of the cases, and Cox proportion hazard regression model was used to identify the factors related with survival time. Results: Among 143 988 HIV/AIDS cases a total of 30 420 cases died of AIDS related diseases (21.1%) and the average survival time was 11.51 years (95%CI: 11.39-11.64). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the influencing factors for the survival of HIV/AIDS cases were gender (male vs. female, HR=1.35, 95%CI: 1.32-1.40), education level (primary school or below vs. junior middle school: HR=1.15, 95%CI: 1.12-1.18), ethnic group (Han vs. other ethnic groups, HR=1.46, 95%CI: 1.41-1.52), occupation (farmer vs. other occupations: HR=1.26, 95%CI: 1.22-1.29), age (≥55 years old vs. 15-24 years old: HR=3.18, 95%CI: 3.02- 3.36), disease phase (AIDS vs. HIV infection: HR=1.44, 95%CI: 1.39-1.48), antiretroviral therapy (ART) (receiving ART vs. receiving no ART: HR=0.20, 95%CI: 0.19-0.20), and CD₄⁺T cell counts at diagnosis (>500 cells/μl vs.<200 cells/μl: HR=0.42, 95%CI: 0.40-0.45). Conclusions The average survival time of HIV/AIDS cases was 11.51 years in Sichuan during 1991- 2017. The risk factors for the survival of the cases were male, education level of primary school or below, Han ethnic group, farmer, old age at diagnosis, disease phase, The protective factors for the survival of HIV/AIDS cases were receiving ART and higher CD₄⁺ T cell counts at diagnosis.
