Objective: To explore the effects of personality and sleep quality with psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents, so as to provide a reference basis for precise interventions of junior and senior high school students mental health. Methods: In October 2023, a convenience sampling method was used to select 9 034 students aged 12-17 from Shiyan City as the study subjects. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) were used to collect information on sleep quality and psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Between group comparison was conducted by using t-test and Chi-square test. Generalized linear models were employed to analyze the interaction and joint effects of personality and sleep quality on psychological distress. Results: The generalized linear model analysis showed that the interaction between personality and sleep quality on psychological distress was statistically significant of junior and senior high school students(effect size=0.80, P <0.01). The general linear model analysis indicated that, after adjusting for variables such as age, gender, screen time, and daily sitting time with the extroverted and good sleep quality group as the reference, the introverted and poor sleep quality group had the largest mean difference in psychological distress scores (difference=0.51, P <0.05). When stratified by sleep quality, psychological distress scores were higher in the introverted and neutral personality groups with both poor and good sleep quality compared to the extroverted group (poor sleep quality: introverted difference=3.71, neutral difference=1.14; good sleep quality: introverted difference=2.23, neutral difference=0.57, all P < 0.05). When stratified by personality, psychological distress scores were higher in the poor sleep quality groups for introverted, neutral, and extroverted individuals compared to their good sleep quality counterparts (differences=8.66, 7.83, 7.34, all P < 0.05 ). Conclusions Personality and sleep quality have interactive and joint effects on psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Personalized psychological interventions should be developed based on personality and sleep quality.

Objective: To evaluate oral health status and knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) among third grade primary school students after the implementation of the Comprehensive Intervention Project for Childhood Oral Diseases in Guizhou Province, so as to provide evidence for program optimization. Methods: Using a multistage cluster sampling method, oral examinations and questionnaire surveys were conducted among third grade primary school students in schools covered by the Comprehensive Intervention Project for Childhood Oral Diseases in Guizhou Province (intervention group, n =1 030) and schools not covered by the program (control group， n =1 130) in November 2023. A follow up survey was conducted one year after the project s implementation (December 2024) to evaluate the differences in oral health status and KAP between the two groups. The t-test and χ 2 test were used to compare means and rates, respectively. Results: One year after implementation, the permanent caries prevalence, caries filling ratio, mean dmft/DMFT, and mean simplified debris index in the intervention group were 33.3%, 22.3 %, 3.44±3.10, 0.77±0.56, which were all better than those in the control group (39.8%, 17.3%, 3.89±2.85, and 0.87± 0.63 ) ( χ 2/ t =9.87, 8.78, -2.59, -3.91,all P <0.05). After intervention, the levels of oral health knowledge, attitude and behaviors in the intervention group were better than those in the control group ( Z =7.69, 2.35, 2.10, all P <0.05). Except for the item "fluoride has no protective effect on teeth", the correct response rates of other oral health knowledge items in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group ( χ 2=3.92-163.94, all P <0.05). The reported rates of tooth brushing related behaviors and sugary beverage consumption were higher in the intervention group than in the control group ( χ 2=4.02-11.42，all P <0.05). Conclusions The Comprehensive Intervention Project for Childhood Oral Diseases improves children s oral health status, oral health knowledge, and some oral health behaviors, but has limited effects on some behaviors and oral health attitudes. Future efforts should focus on the factors influencing the transformation of children s oral health attitudes and behaviors, along with strengthening long term follow up evaluations.

Objective This study examined changes in serum growth hormone(GH)and insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)levels,as well as insulin resistance,in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)across different stages of diabetic kidney disease(DKD).It explored the relationship between these factors and the occurrence and progression of DKD,with the aim of identifying new targets for the prevention and treatment of DKD.Methods In this cross-sectional study,T2DM patients aged 18-80 years were selected from the Department of Endocrinology,The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University,from November 30,2019 to March 30,2021.Their serum GH and IGF-1 levels were tested.Results The serum GH level increased gradually in the groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The level of serum IGF-1 decreased first and then increased among the groups,but with no significant difference(P＞0.05).HOMA-IR showed no significant correlation among the groups(P＞0.05),but HOMA-β gradually decreased among the groups,with statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the increase of serum GH level was closely related to the progression of T2DM to early DKD,and that the increase of serum IGF-1 level might be related to the deterioration of renal function in patients with T2DM at DKD stage.HOMA-IR and HOMA-β were not found to have correlation with the occurrence or development of DKD in T2DM patients.Conclusion In patients with T2DM,elevated serum GH level is closely associated with the occurrence and progression of early DKD.The increase of serum GH level may promote the occurrence of early DKD in T2DM,and the increase of serum IGF-1 level may be related to the deterioration of renal function in clinical DKD stage.In this study,we did not find correlation of HOMA-IR and HOMA-β with the occurrence or development of DKD in T2DM patients.

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension(CTEPH)is a severe form of pulmonary hypertension(PH),and is classified as the fourth major category of pulmonary arterial hypertension.CTEPH is primarily caused by chronic thrombosis,leading to the obstruction of blood flow in the pulmonary arteries and result ing in a sustained increase in pulmonary artery pressure.The unclear pathogenesis of CTEPH,however,means that its early diagnosis is challenging,treatment options are limited,and prognosis assessment is often inaccurate.In-depth research into these mechanisms will thus improve our understanding of the pathophysiological processes of CTEPH,and also provide a theoretical basis for developing new therapeutic strategies.This review focuses on the current method of establishing CTEPH rat models and their advantages and disadvantages,offering researchers a reference for selecting and constructing CTEPH rat models.

BACKGROUND:The definitive cause of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is not yet known.The search for a clinical approach to address adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is imminent.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of Schroth therapy combined with core strength training on mild adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and to provide more bases for the clinical treatment of mild adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.METHODS:110 patients with mild adolescent idiopathic scoliosis attending the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Department of Spine Surgery of Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from July 2022 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into the trial group and the control group according to the wishes of the patients and their parents,with 55 cases in each group.The control group was observed and followed up,and the trial group underwent Schroth therapy combined with core strength training for 45 minutes a day for 24 weeks.The differences in imaging parameters,body surface indexes,three-dimensional ultrasound imaging angle,and quality of life were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)At 24 weeks after treatment,major curve Cobb,apical vertebral translation,and cervical lordosis were significantly improved in the trial group(P＜0.05),while there was no significant difference in the control group(P＞0.05).Major curve Cobb and apical vertebral translation in the trial group were significantly better than those in the control group(P＜0.05).(2)At 24 weeks after treatment,angle of trunk rotation in the trial group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P＜0.05),while there was no significant difference between before and after treatment in the control group(P＞0.05),and angle of trunk rotation in the trial group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).(3)At 24 weeks after treatment,the center of laminae angle of three-dimensional ultrasound imaging was significantly reduced in the trial group(P＜0.05),while there was no significant difference in the control group before and after treatment(P＞0.05).The center of laminae angle of three-dimensional ultrasound imaging was smaller in the trial group than that in the control group(P＜0.05).(4)At 24 weeks after treatment,in terms of the quality of life,pain dimension score in the trial group was significantly increased(P＜0.05).Both trial and control groups showed significantly higher scores in the self-image dimension compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05).Both groups had significantly lower scores in the mental health dimension compared with that before treatment(P＜0.05).In the dimensions of pain,self-image,mental health,and satisfaction,the trial group was significantly higher than the control group(P＜0.05).(5)It is indicated that Schroth therapy combined with core strength training can improve the major curve Cobb,apical vertebral translation,and cervical lordosis angle,reduce the angle of trunk rotation,decrease the center of laminae angle of three-dimensional ultrasound imaging,and improve the quality of life,and it is effective in the treatment of mild adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Objective:To discuss the differential expression of microRNA(miR)-125a-5p in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)of the patients with mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB)infection and its effect on macrophage polarization,and to clarify its clinical significance.Methods:A total of 40 patients with active tuberculosis(ATB)(ATB group),35 patients with latent tuberculosis infection(LTBI)(LTBI group),and 40 healthy physical examinees(control group)clinically diagnosed from July 2022 to June 2023 were selected.The fasting blood samples of the subjects in three groups were collected next morning after 12 h of fasting,and then serum was separated.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)method was used to detect the levels of inflammatory factors in the serum of the subjects in various groups.Simultaneously,the PBMCs were extracted from the subjects in various groups;flow cytometry was used to detect the expression levels of CD80 and CD206 proteins in the PBMCs of the subjects in various groups;real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)method was used to detect the expression levels of microRNA(miR)-125a-5p and interleukin-6(IL-6)mRNA in PBMCs of the subjects in various groups.Results:There were no statistically significant differences in the general information of the subjects among three groups(P>0.05).Compared with control group,the erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),percentages of monocytes(MONO),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels,and interleukin-10(IL-10)levels in serum of the patients in ATB group and LTBI group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the percentages of lymphocytes(LY)were significantly decreased(P<0.05);compared with ATB group,the ESR and level of IL-10 in serum of the patients in LTBI group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the percentage of LY was significantly increased(P<0.05);there were statistically significant differences in the counts of white blood cell(WBC)of the subjects among various groups(P>0.05).The flow cytometry results showed that compared with control group,the expression levels of CD80 and CD206 proteins in PBMCs of the patients in ATB group and LTBI group were significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with ATB group,the expression level of CD206 protein in the PBMCs of the patients in LTBI group was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the expression level of CD80 protein was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The RT-qPCR results showed that compared with control group,the expression levels of miR-125a-5p and IL-6 mRNA in the PBMCs of the patients in ATB group and LTBI group were significantly increased(P<0.05);compared with ATB group,the expression levels of miR-125a-5p and IL-6 mRNA in PBMCs of the patients in LTBI group were significantly increased(P<0.05).The correlation analysis results showed that the miR-125a-5p expression level was positively correlated with the TNF-α level and IL-6 mRNA expression level(r=0.406,P<0.05;r=0.351,P<0.05),and negatively correlated with the IL-10 level(r=-0.368,P<0.05).The area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)value of miR-125a-5p expression level for diagnosing LTBI patients was 0.89(P<0.01),with a sensitivity of 0.85 and a specificity of 0.88.Conclusion:The expression level of miR-125a-5p in PBMCs of the patients in LTBI group is significantly increased,and it can affect the macrophage polarization to M1,promote the inflammatory response process of macrophages and participate in the occurrence and development of pulmonary tuberculosis.

AIM: To investigate the decentration of the treatment zone(TZ)and the early impact on corneal higher-order aberrations(HOAs)induced by orthokeratology(OK)lenses fitted with digital corneal topography.METHODS: A retrospective longitudinal clinical study was conducted on 28 patients(28 right eyes)who were digitally fitted with OK lenses at the Laser Vision Center of Xi'an No.1 Hospital since 2023. Longitudinal measurements were taken at baseline, 1 wk, 1 and 3 mo post-treatment to assess changes in TZ diameter, decentration magnitude and direction. Furthermore, changes in corneal HOAs were observed, and correlations of decentration with each HOAs were also analyzed.RESULTS: The mean age of patients was 10.29±2.00 years, with 15 males and 13 females, and the average baseline spherical equivalent was -2.92±0.94 D. The average TZ diameters at 1 wk, 1, and 3 mo were 3.64±0.58, 3.83±0.57, and 3.69±0.55 mm, respectively, with no statistically significant differences between 1 wk and 3 mo. Horizontal decentration values were -0.43±0.28, -0.38±0.33, and -0.31±0.37 mm after wearing lenses for 1 wk, 1 and 3 mo, respectively, while vertical decentration values were -0.33±0.20, -0.33±0.23, and -0.36±0.23 mm across the same time points. The TZ consistently decentered inferotemporally, and changes in both horizontal and vertical decentration over time were not statistically significant(Fhorizontal=1.416, Phorizontal=0.252; Fvertical=0.126, Pvertical=0.882). Significant increases in total corneal HOAs, coma, and spherical aberration were observed at 5 mm optical zone post-wear(F=45.695, 33.401, and 45.091, all P<0.001). Vertical decentration at 1 wk and 1 mo was negatively correlated with total HOAs and coma(all P<0.05), while horizontal decentration at 3 mo showed a weak negative correlation with spherical aberration(P=0.037).CONCLUSION: Digitally-fitted OK lenses achieved stable TZ diameter by 1 wk post-wear, with minor inferotemporal decentration. Early post-wear corneal total HOAs, coma and sphercal aberration increased significantly, and vertical downward decentration was associated with elevated total HOAs and coma. However, correlations between decentration and HOAs weakened by 3 mo.

This case study summarizes the nursing experience of a patient with right forearm damage who underwent total shape combined replantation reconstruction after heterotopic limb salvage.Key nursing points included:preoperative assessment of the patient's injury and emergency treatment,formulation of a personalized surgical plan in collaboration with multiple departments,and complete preoperative preparation.Postoperatively,implement phased individualized nursing care postoperatively,strengthen monitoring and prevention of vascular emergencies,control and treat wound infections,implement multidimensional pain management strategies,provide comprehensive psychological care,and conduct stepwise functional rehabilitation training.After 2 stages of surgery and 112 days of treatment and nursing care,the patient's right forearm showed good functional recovery,and the patient was discharged successfully.
