Objective To study the variations in lower limb muscle strength and gait after long-distance load marching in soldiers and to investigate the effects of muscle fatigue of the lower limbs on the walking and running gait. Methods Fifteen male soldiers completed a 15 km march with a 17.5 kg load carriage. The isometric muscle strength of the hip, knee, and ankle joints under flexion and extension were tested. The walking and running gait parameters were collected with a Vicon motion capture system and AMTI force platform. Results After load marching, the peak moment of the hip decreased significantly(P<0.05),the mean power of the right knee decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the relative peak moment and mean power of the ankle plantar flexion decreased significantly(P<0.05).During walking, the left hip flexion, knee flexion and extension, ankle dorsiflexion, and inversion angles(P<0.05)decreased significantly in conjunction with a significant increase in the knee inversion angle(P<0.05).Additionally,the moments of left hip flexion, knee flexion, ankle plantar flexion, and bilateral knee inversion(P<0.05)decreased significantly, coupled with a significant increase in the moments of right hip extension and vertical ground reaction forces(P<0.05).During running, the step frequency decreased significantly(P<0.01),and the left step width increased(P<0.05).Both left and right ankle dorsiflexion angles decreased significantly(P<0.05),whereas the knee adduction angle increased significantly(P<0.05).Additionally,the moment of bilateral hip flexion, left knee flexion, right ankle dorsiflexion, and knee adduction decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the ground reaction force on the right side increased significantly(P<0.05).Conclusions The lower limb muscle strength decreased after long-distance marching. This was particularly so in the hip joint. The hip drive mechanism was used in the walking gait after marching. However, knee hyperextension and valgus occurred owing to the decreased muscle strength. The ankle joint was used more frequently during running. This increased the risk of ankle injury. It is necessary to strengthen the hip and hamstring muscle groups to optimize the gait, increase the load capacity, and prevent injury.

Objective To evaluate the influence of different load carriages during military walking on the gait of lower limbs. Methods In a randomized cross-over design, 15 healthy young males were asked to perform self-paced walking with a normal uniform under a load carriage of 0 kg, 7.5 kg, 27 kg, and 50 kg for four times. The kinematics parameters of the pelvis, knee, and ankle were evaluated by the Vicon motion capture system and AMTI force plates. Results With increasing load carriage, the stride frequency relatively improved, whereas the stride reduced and the speed was maintained on the whole. The peak left/right hip flexion and extension angle and peak knee adduction angle were obviously affected by the load carriage, whereas the movement magnitudes could be maintained. The peak varus angle of the left ankle and peak valgus angle of the right ankle were also affected. The peak force and moment of the left/right knee and ankle increased. Conclusions With increasing load carriage, overall, the movement magnitudes of lower limb joints were maintained under the given loads, whereas the lower limb loads were increased, which could increase the potential risk of lower limb injuries.

The clinical data of 30 patients with vesical calculus of 1.5 cm to 4 cm in diameter, who underwent combination of transurethral pneumatic and ultrasonic cystolithotripsy, were retrospectively analyzed.During the procedure the resectoscopic sheath was inserted into bladder through urethra, then the nephroscope was placed through the sheath. When the stone was located, the ultrasonic and pneumatic devices were used for lithotripsy and the fragments were cleared out.The procedures lasted from 10 to 25 min,all operations were successful.Transurethral resection of prostates (TURP) was performed simultaneously in 28 patients. No serious bleeding, bladder injury or transurethral resection syndrome occurred. One patient with simultaneous TURP developed bladder neck contracture one month after surgery and was later cured by endoresection. No residual chip or stone recurrence was detected. This procedure appears to be safe and highly efficient with low rate of urethrostenosis and is suitable for simotaneous prostate surgery.

Objective: To observe the role of Qudu medicinal granules (祛毒冲剂) on enterogenous endotoxemia . Methods: Sixty-one cases with enterogenous endotoxemia were randomly divided into two groups:Qudu medicinal granule group (n=30) that was treated with Qudu medicinal granules combined with western medicine, and smecta group which was treated with smecta and western medicine (n=31). Changes of symptoms and signs were observed before treatment and 1, 3, 7 days after treatment. Blood samples were collected in the morning to measure the white blood cell (WBC), plasma lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) levels. Results: Recovery speed of WBC count in Qudu medicinal granule group was faster than that of the smecta group, there was significant difference on the third day after treatment (P
