Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of cognitive behavioral therapy （CBT） in the treatment of functional seizures （FS）. Methods Databases including PubMed （MEDLINE）， EMBASE， and the Cochrane Library were searched for randomized controlled trials （RCTs） on CBT in the treatment of FS published from January 2001 to October 2024. Jadad score was used to assess the quality of studies， and stata16 software was used to perform the meta-analysis. Results Four RCTs involving 463 patients were included in this meta-analysis. The analysis showed that CBT could reduce the frequency of FS by ≥50% （OR=0.57， 95%CI 0.36~0.78， P<0.001）， achieve complete remission of seizures （OR=1.83， 95% CI 1.09~3.05， P=0.021）， improve the degree of satisfaction among patients （MD=1.12， 95%CI -2.28~0.04， P=0.050）， and enhance the quality of life and work （OR=0.50， 95%CI 0.47~0.52， P<0.001）. Conclusions While CBT can help achieve full remission in FS， more research is needed to confirm its effectiveness in reducing episodes by over 50% and improving patients’ quality of life， family functioning， social adaptability， and psychological well-being.

Objective To evaluate the role of school tuberculosis demonstration screening in the preven-tion and control of tuberculosis(TB)epidemic situation.Methods First,the investigators were trained by the school TB screening techniques,the standardized quality control system that can be promoted at the primary level was established.Then,the TB demonstration screening was carried out in 18 schools in 16 districts and counties of Chongqing City by adopting the cross-sectional survey from September to November 2022,and the screening subjects were 25 968 students in the grade one of junior school,grade one,grade two and grade three of high school,and the training results and screening results were analyzed.Results A total of 530 medical and health professionals participated in the technical training of TB screening in schools,and 391 persons com-pleted the theoretical assessment,operation of tuberculin skin test(TST)and the result interpretation assess-ment,with a pass rate of 61.89％(242/391)and a basic pass rate of 12.02％(47/391).Among the 25 968 students,the strongly positive rate of TST was 13.92％,and the positive rate of Mycobacterium tuberculosis recombinant protein skin test(TBST)was 5.55％.The strongly positive rate of TST had statistically signifi-cant difference among different grades(P＜0.05).The positive rate of TBST in the grade two of high school was higher than that in the grade one,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Through screening,12 students were found to have active tuberculosis,the discovery rate was 46.21/100 000,and the proportion of grade two of high school was maximal(75.00％),but there was no statistical difference in the discovery rate of active TB among the grade one of junior school,grade one and two of high school(P＞0.05).Conclusion The school tuberculosis demonstration screening accurately assesses the students'latent tuberculosis infection burden.

BACKGROUND:Calcium phosphate(CaP)coatings are widely used to improve the integration of titanium implants into bone but these coatings are associated with risks of infection.It is thus desirable to confer antibacterial properties to CaP coatings. OBJECTIVE:To prepare CaP-MgO composite coatings by impregnating magnesium oxide(MgO)sol into CaP coatings and assess the in vitro antibacterial activities and cytocompatibility. METHODS:An electrolyte was determined by titration and used for CaP coating electrodeposition on titanium(referred to as Ti-CaP).MgO was impregnated into the coating by immersing in an MgO sol with different mass fractions(15%,30%,50%)and subsequently calcined to form MgO-CaP composite coatings,which were recorded as Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg,respectively.Microstructure,tensile properties,critical load,and Mg2+ release of coatings in vitro were characterized.Antibacterial activity was assayed using spread plate method by culturing S.aureus on the pure titanium sheet surface and Ti-CaP,Ti-Cap-15mg,Ti-Cap-30mg and Ti-Cap-50mg surfaces for 24 and 48 hours.Mouse osteoblast suspension was inoculated on pure titanium sheets and Ti-CaP,Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg coated titanium sheets,respectively.Cell proliferation was detected by CCK-8 assay,and cell survival rate was calculated.The morphology of composite coating soaked in DMEM was also observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Homogeneous,microporous CaP coatings consisting of octacaclium phosphate crystal flakes were prepared on titanium by electrodeposition.After sol impregnation-calcination,MgO aggregates were filled into the inter-flake voids.The extent of MgO filling and Mg concentration in the coating increased with the number of sol impregnation procedures.When immersed in phosphate buffered saline,all composite coatings actively released Mg2+ within 1 day;subsequently,the Mg2+ release slowed down on day 3.A small amount of Mg2+ release was still detected on day 7.The yield strength,tensile strength and fracture growth rate of Ti-CaP-30Mg coated titanium were not significantly different from those of pure titanium(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the critical load of Ti-CaP,Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg groups(P>0.05).(2)Except that pure titanium sheet and Ti-CaP had no antibacterial properties,the other samples had good antibacterial properties,and the antibacterial rate increased with the increase of MgO content in the coating.(3)After 1 and 3 days of co-culture,the cell survival rate of Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg groups was lower than that of pure titanium group and Ti-CaP group(P<0.05).After 5 and 7 days of culture,there was no significant difference in cell survival rate among five groups(P>0.05).The content of MgO in the coating decreased gradually with the time of immersion in the medium.(4)The MgO sol impregnation added antibacterial properties to the CaP coatings while retained their biocompatibility.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effects of needle-pricking therapy, a newly medical and minimally invasive technique, for functional retrograde ejaculation and to explore its mechanism. Methods Thirty-six patients with functional retrograde ejaculation were randomly divided into an observation group(19 cases) and a control group(17 cases) In the observation group,needle-pricking therapy was used at Guanyuan(CV 4) and bilateral sacral plexus nerve,lumbar 1 nerve and greater occipital nerve stimulating points,once a week. In the control group, midodrine tablets were prescribed orally,three times a day. All the treatment was given for 9 weeks. The clinical effects of the two groups were observed, and the levels of luteinizing hormone(LH), testosterone(Tes) and estra4 diol(E2) were compared between the two groups.

RESULTSThe total effective rate of the observation group was, 89. 47%(17/19), which was better than 47.06% (8/17) of the control group(P<0. 05). The LH and Tes were obviously increased and E2 was decreased compared with those before treatment in the observation group(all P< 0. 01). Tes was raised(P<0. 05) and E2 was apparently declined in the control group(P<0. 01). After treatment, the differences of serum LH and Tes were statistically significant between the two groups(both P<0. 01).

CONCLUSIONNeedle-pricking therapy has advantages for functional retrograde ejaculation probably in that stimulating lumbosacral nerves can strengthen the function of pelvic floor muscles and urethral expansion muscle and regulate sexual gland axis.

AIMTo explore the changes of mRNA and protein expressions of heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) in rat ischemic myocardium at different intervals ischemia.

METHODS60 SD male rats weighing 250-350 g, were randomly divided into one sham-operated group and five study groups (group A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, the left coronary artery of rats has been ligated for 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 6 h, 12 h respectively). Myocardil samples from infarct zone, ischemic and non-ischemic zone, were obtained for histology examination, and the mRNA for H-FABP in ischemic myocardial tissue were determined by RT-PCR. Serum free fatty acid(FFA) was determined by colorimetric method.

RESULTSCompared to sham hearts, H-FABP mRNA expression were significantly decreased in ischemia zone of AMI rat hearts (P < 0.05), especially in rats underwent 4 h ischemia and 6 h ischemia (P < 0.01). Serum FFA were significantly increased in AMI rats relative to sham rats (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSignificant down-regulated heart-type fatty acid binding protein after myocardial ischemia might play an important role in myocardial injury and energy metabolism disorder.
