This article systematically analyzes the historical evolution of the name, medicinal parts, origin, harvesting, processing and other aspects of Houttuyniae Herba(HH) by referring to the medical books, prescription books and other documents of the past dynasties, combined with the research materials related to modern and contemporary times, in order to provide a basis for the development of famous classical formulas containing this herb. In ancient literature, HH was often referred to as "Ji" and "Jicai", the name of "Ji" was first recorded in Mingyi Bielu during the Han and Wei dynasties, and the name of Yuxingcao was first seen in Lyuchanyan Bencao during the southern Song dynasty and has continued to this day. The origin of HH used throughout history is consistent, all of which are the whole herb or aboveground parts of Houttuynia cordata in Saururaceae family. HH recorded throughout history has a wide range of production areas, mostly self-produced self-marketing. In ancient times, fresh HH was often used as medicine by pounding its juice without involving any processing steps. Both fresh and dried products can be used as medicine, the fresh products uses the whole plant, while the dried products uses the aboveground parts, which are cleaned, selected and processed before use. Fresh products are harvested regardless of season, while dried products are harvested in both summer and autumn, with summer as the best. In ancient times, there were no specific requirements for the quality of HH, while in modern times, "intact stems and leaves with a strong fishy smell" are preferred. In addition, the medicinal properties of HH have undergone significant changes from ancient to modern times. In the early period, it was believed that its medicinal property was slightly warm, until the 1977 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia officially changed it to slightly cold. Both ancient and modern literature states that HH can be used for the treatment of carbuncle and malignant sores, Lyuchanyan Bencao for the first time introduced HH fresh juice can relieve summer heat, since Diannan Bencao recorded that it can be used for lung carbuncle, and gradually developed into the first choice for the treatment of lung carbuncle. Based on the research results, it is suggested that fresh herb or dried aboveground parts of H. cordata are used as medicine when developing famous classical formulas.

OBJECTIVES:
To study the molecular mechanisms of LDH-loaded si-NEAT1 for regulating paclitaxel resistance and tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) polarization in breast cancer.
METHODS:
qRT-PCR and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of lncRNA NEAT1, miR-133b, and PD-L1 in breast cancer SKBR3 cells and paclitaxel-resistant SKBR3 cells (SKBR3-PR). The effects of transfection with si-NEAT1 and miR-133b mimics on MRP, MCRP and PD-L1 expressions and cell proliferation, migration and apoptosis were investigated using qRT-PCR, Western blotting, scratch and Transwell assays, and flow cytometry. Rescue experiments were conducted using si-NEAT1 and miR-133b inhibitor. Human THP-1 macrophages were cultured in the presence of conditioned media (CM) derived from SKBR3 and SKBR3-PR cells with or with si-NEAT1 transfection for comparison of IL-4-induced macrophage polarization by detecting the surface markers. LDH@si-NEAT1 nanocarriers were constructed, and their effects on MRP, MCRP and PD-L1 expressions and cell behaviors of the tumor cells were examined. THP-1 cells were treated with the CM from LDH@si-NEAT1-treated tumor cells, and the changes in their polarization were assessed.
RESULTS:
SKBR3-PR cells showered significantly upregulated NEAT1 and PD-L1 expressions and lowered miR-133b expression as compared with their parental cells. Transfection with si-NEAT1 and miR-133b mimics inhibited viability, promoted apoptosis and enhanced MRP and BCRP expressions in SKBR3-PR cells. NEAT1 knockdown obvious upregulated miR-133b and downregulated PD-L1, MRP and BCRP expressions. The CM from SKBR3-PR cells obviously promoted M2 polarization of THP-1 macrophages, which was significantly inhibited by CM from si-NEAT1-transfected cells. Treatment with LDH@si-NEAT1 effectively inhibited migration and invasion, promoted apoptosis, and reduced MRP, BCRP and PD-L1 expressions in the tumor cells. The CM from LDH@si-NEAT1-treated SKBR3-PR cells significantly downregulated Arg-1, CD163, IL-10, and PD-L1 and upregulated miR-133b expression in THP-1 macrophages.
CONCLUSIONS
LDH@si-NEAT1 reduces paclitaxel resistance of breast cancer cells and inhibits TAM polarization by targeting the miR-133b/PD-L1 axis.

Nasal drug delivery efficiency is highly dependent on the position in which the drug is deposited in the nasal cavity. However, no reliable method is currently available to assess its impact on delivery performance. In this study, a biomimetic nasal model based on three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and three-dimensional printing (3DP) technology was developed for visualizing the deposition of drug powders in the nasal cavity. The results showed significant differences in cavity area and volume and powder distribution in the anterior part of the biomimetic nasal model of Chinese males and females. The nasal cavity model was modified with dimethicone and validated to be suitable for the deposition test. The experimental device produced the most satisfactory results with five spray times. Furthermore, particle sizes and spray angles were found to significantly affect the experimental device's performance and alter drug distribution, respectively. Additionally, mometasone furoate (MF) nasal spray (NS) distribution patterns were investigated in a goat nasal cavity model and three male goat noses, confirming the in vitro and in vivo correlation. In conclusion, the developed human nasal structure biomimetic device has the potential to be a valuable tool for assessing nasal drug delivery system deposition and distribution.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the regulatory effects of miR-30e-5p on biological behaviors of colorectal cancer cells and the role of PTEN/CXCL12 axis in mediating these effects.
METHODS:
Bioinformatic analysis was performed to explore the differential expression of miR-30e-5p between colorectal cancer tissues and normal tissues. RT-qPCR was used to detect the differential expression of miR-30e-5p in intestinal epithelial cells and colorectal cancer cells. Bioinformatics and dual luciferase assay were used to predict and validate the targeting relationship between miR-30e-5p and PTEN. Human and murine colorectal cancer cell lines were transfected with miR-30e-5p mimics, miR-30e-5p inhibitor, miR-30e-5p mimics+LV-PTEN, or miR-30e-5p inhibitor + si-PTEN. The changes in biological behaviors of the cells were detected using plate clone formation assay, CCK-8 assay, flow cytometry, scratch healing and Transwell assays. PTEN and CXCL12 expressions in the cancer cells were detected by Western blotting. The effects of miR-30e-5p inhibitor on colorectal carcinogenesis and development were observed in nude mice.
RESULTS:
Bioinformatic analysis showed that miR-30e-5p expression was significantly elevated in colorectal cancer tissues compared with the adjacent tissue (P < 0.01). Higher miR-30e-5p expression was detected in colorectal cancer cell lines than in intestinal epithelial cells (P < 0.01). Dual luciferase assay confirmed the targeting relationship between miR-30e-5p and PTEN (P < 0.05). Transfection with miR-30e-5p mimics significantly enhanced proliferation and metastasis and inhibited apoptosis of the colorectal cancer cells (P < 0.05), and co-transfection with LV-PTEN obviously reversed these changes (P < 0.05). MiR-30e-5p mimics significantly inhibited PTEN expression and enhanced CXCL12 expression in the cancer cells (P < 0.01), and miR-30e-5p inhibitor produced the opposite effect. Transfection with miR-30e-5p inhibitor caused cell cycle arrest in the cancer cells, which was reversed by co-transfection with si-PTEN (P < 0.05). In the in vivo experiments, the colorectal cancer cells transfected with miR-30e-5p inhibitor showed significantly lowered tumorigenesis.
CONCLUSION
Overexpression of miR-30e-5p promotes the malignant behaviors of colorectal cancer cells by downregulating PTEN to activate the CXCL12 axis.

Objective:To investigate the feasibility and safety of suprapubic bladder puncture and gland fixation in transurethral enucleation of the prostate. Methods:The clinical data of 15 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January 2020 to June 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The age was (70.27±5.35) years old, preoperative serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level was (3.03±1.37) ng/ml, preoperative total prostate weight was 80.3(70.49, 96.78)g, preoperative postvoid residual urine volume(PVR)was 80 (55, 108)ml, and the maximum urine flow rate (Q max) was (6.13±2.25) ml/s. The international prostate symptom score(IPSS) was 25(22, 27), quality of life (QOL)score was 5(5, 6), international erectile function index-5 (IIEF-5) score was (15.38±5.10). All 15 patients underwent conventional transurethral plasma enucleation of prostate by using the three-lobe method, and the enucleated gland was pushed into the bladder completely. Then a laparoscopic pneumoperitoneum needle was used to perform suprappubic cystipuncture, and ureteral grasping forceps were inserted through the outer sheath. The forceps were used to fix the enencied gland. A rapid harvesting electric resection was performed in the broad space of the bladder, and the Ellick was rinsed to remove the tissue fragments. Surgical indicators and complications were recorded. The improvement of subjective score (IPSS, QOL, IIEF-5) and objective index (Q max, PVR) was compared between preoperative and postoperative. Results:All the 15 operations were completed successfully and there were no complications such as blood transfusion, capsule perforation, transurethral resection syndrome, bladder injury, bladder puncture site laceration and bleeding. The weight of resected prostate tissue was 44(40, 60)g, with blood loss (79.20±18.93)ml.The time of enucleation operation was (54.13±10.88)min, with harvest cutting time (14.67±2.50)min, evisceration efficiency (0.89±0.08)g/min, harvesting efficiency (3.26±0.36)g/min, bladder irrigation time (2.47±0.52) d. The time of indwelling catheter was (3.73±0.80)d.The postoperative hospital stay was (4.40±0.91) d. Temporary urinary incontinence occurred in 1 case after operation. All patients were followed up for 6 months after operation. The IPSS score was 3(2, 3), QOL score was 0(0, 1), IIEF-5 score was (20.12±2.30), Q maxwas (21.80±2.14) ml/s and PVR was 10(5, 15)ml, which were all significantly different compared with those before surgery ( P<0.05). The symptoms of the patients were significantly improved. Conclusions:Transurethral plasma enucleation of prostate combined with suprapubic bladder puncture and fixed gland is effective in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The subjective symptoms and objective examination of patients have been significantly improved, and no adverse operation-related complications have occurred. It is a suitable method for enucleation of prostate in units which are not equipped with transurethral tissue planer.

Medical microbiology is one of the compulsory courses of basic medical sciences, which lays an important theoretical foundation for the follow-up study of infectious diseases, contagions, tumors, and so on. The course of medical microbiology in our college adhered to the concept of student-centered, diversified teaching, scientific evaluation, and continuous improvement. Teaching design was a cross-link of general theories, specific chapters, clinical cases, theory and practice, and the ideological and political education throughout the curriculum. Lectures adopted the mode of offline teaching (such as flipped classroom, case analysis, and comprehensive experimental design), online assistance (such as classroom test, stage test, extracurricular homework, and questionnaire survey), and combined process evaluation. This teaching mode also reflected the deep integration of information technology and classroom teaching. With the development and construction in these years, medical microbiology has completed the renewal of curriculum resources, the construction of online question bank, the construction and design of ideological and political case bank, and process evaluation (10 points of usual score + 10 points of case study + 10 points of experimental performance + 100 points of final examination multiplied by 70%). There was no significant difference in the results of qustionnaire survey in terms of the improvement of independent learning ability, curriculum evaluation system and satisfaction feedback. Students in Batch 2019 were most satisfied with the teaching of keeping pace with the times and the guidance of positive outlook on life and values.
