Objective:
To investigate the effects of 24 hour movement behaviors on the self confidence level of junior high school students, providing empirical evidence for optimizing physical activity intervention strategies and enhancing adolescents mental health.
Methods:
In December 2024, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 350 students from 3 junior high schools in Wuhan City. The ActiGraph wGT3X-BT accelerometer was employed to monitor participants 24 hour movement behaviors, and the Children and Adolescents Self confidence Questionnaire was used to assess their self confidence levels. Compositional isotemporal substitution models were applied to analyze the substitution effects among different movement behaviors and their impact on the self confidence level of junior high school students.
Results:
Among the 24 hour movement behaviors of junior high school students, the compositional means and proportions of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA), light physical activity (LPA), sedentary behavior (SB), and sleep (SP) were 33.91 min (2.35%), 151.64 min (10.53%), 761.12 min (52.86%), and 493.33 min (34.26%), respectively. There were no statistically significant differences were found across grade, parental education level, or family economic status ( t/F =0.62,1.50,-1.22, all P >0.05). Significant differences in self confidence levels were observed between male and female junior high students ( t=3.36, P <0.05). Regarding 24 hour movement behaviors, MVPA, LPA, SB and SP exhibited statistically significant differences across gender, grade, and parental education ( Z/H =-6.76-6.15, all P < 0.05 ). Results of component linear regression analysis indicated that the proportion of MVPA time positively predicted junior high school students self confidence levels ( β =4.38), while the proportion of SP time negatively predicted self confidence levels ( β = -11.20 ) (both P <0.05). Isotemporal substitution analysis revealed that replacing 15 minutes of SB and SP with MVPA increased total self confidence scores by 1.53 and 1.97 units, respectively, while the opposite substitution decreased scores by 2.48 and 2.91 units (all P <0.05). Dose response analysis revealed an asymmetric pattern in the isochronous substitution effects between MVPA and SB/SP.
Conclusions
The overall distribution of 24 hour movement behaviors significantly impacts self confidence level of junior high school students. Insufficient MVPA may constrain the positive development of self confidence.

Objective To study the seasonal distribution characteristics of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in PM2.5 in Lianyungang City, and analyze the sources of PAHs pollution, and to evaluate the health risks of PAHs in different seasons. Methods PM2.5 samples were collected regularly from January 2019 to December 2023, and 16 types of PAHs were determined by HPLC. Kruskal-Wallis H test was used to compare the concentrations of PM2.5 and PAHs in different years and seasons. The source of PAHs was analyzed by characteristic ratio and principal component analysis (PCA). Health risks were assessed using the BaP equivalent method and the incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) model. Results The annual exceedance rates of PM2.5 and BaP in Lianyungang showed a decreasing trend from 2019 to 2023. PM2.5, total PAHs and PAHs monomers (except Ace, Flu and Acy) all showed significant seasonal differences, with the highest concentration in winter (P<0.001). The average proportion of 4-ring PAHs was the highest and the average proportion of 2-ring PAHs was the lowest. The proportion of 5-6 ring PAHs was relatively high in winter and spring. PM2.5and PAHs were negatively correlated with temperature, relative humidity and precipitation, and were positively correlated with atmospheric pressure. PM2.5 was negatively correlated with wind speed, while some PAHs monomers were positively correlated with wind speed. The characteristic ratio and PCA results showed that the main sources of PAHs in Lianyungang City were mixed sources of road dust and vehicle emissions, oil pollution sources and biomass combustion sources. The results of ILCR showed that the highest risk was found in adults, with males slightly higher than females. In Lianyungang, the maximum value of ILCR in winter was more than 10-6 in people over 9 years old. Conclusion The main sources of PAHs in PM2.5 in Lianyungang City are mixed sources of road dust and vehicle emissions, oil pollution sources, and biomass combustion sources. Under the current exposure level of PAHs in PM2.5, residents have a certain potential carcinogenic risk.

Chinese Journal of Neuroanatomy 2025;41(5):635-642
Objective:To analyze the differentially expressed genes and related functional pathways of mouse sciatic nerves of Schwann cells(SCs)in early in vitro Wallerian degeneration(WD).Methods:The sciatic nerves of adult male C57BL/6J mice were Wallerian degeneration in vitro, and total RNA was extracted and transcriptome sequencing was performed at 3 h and 6 h after degeneration, respectively. The differentially expressed genes(DEGs),gene ontology(GO)and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment were analyzed by bioinformatics. Results:Compared with the Control group,3961 and 5538 DEGs were screened in the WD 3 h group(WD3h)and the 6 h group(WD6h)of in vitro, respectively. The most significantly up-regulated genes mainly included molecules related to inflammation and immunity and neurotrophic factors.GO analysis showed that DEGs in both groups were enriched in positive transcriptional regulation and metabolic processes.KEGG pathway enrichment analysis revealed that DEGs were mainly concentrated in TNF signaling pathway,MAPK signaling pathway and ribosome production. Conclusion:At the early stage of WD,SCs up-regulates the genes related to inflammation and immunity to promote the progression of WD and secrete neurotrophic factors to support the survival of neurons, accompanied by the activation of TNF signaling path-way and MAPK signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the effect of proanthocyanidins(PC)on the neurite outgrowth of rat dorsal root ganglion(DRG)neurons. Methods In vitro, primary rat DRG neurons were cultured wtih a series of concenteation of PC to assess the effect of PC on the number and length of neurites as well as the morphology of growth cone.In vivo, the expression of growth associated protein 43(GAP43)in the early stage of injury was detected using the sciatic nerve crush model. Finally, the impact of PC on nerve growth factor(NGF)expression in DRG neurons was evaluated in vitro using immunofluorescence and ELISA.Results PC significantly increased the number and length of neurites and the number of pseudopodium in growth cones of DRG neurons.PC also promoted the expres-sion of GAP43 in the early stage of sciatic nerve injury in rats and enhanced the expression of NGF in DRG neurons. Conclusion PC may promote the neurite outgrowth by increasing the expression of NGF in DRG neurons.
