Objective To establish an efficient,sensitive,and accurate ion chromatography method for the simultaneous determination of three impurity ions—bromide(Br-),nitrite(NO2-),and oxalate(C2 O42-)—in oral rehydration salts powder(Ⅲ).These impurity ions may pose potential toxic side effects on children's health;therefore,ensuring their content within safe limits is crucial for safeguarding pediatric medication safety.Methods A Metrosep A Supp 5 column(250 mm×4.0 mm,5 μm),packed with quaternary ammonium-bonded polyvinyl alcohol was used.The eluent consisted of carbonate buffer:Mobile phase A was a mixture of 3.2 mmol·L-1 sodium carbonate and 1.0 mmol·L-1 sodium bicarbonate(50∶50,V∶V),and mobile phase B was a mixture of 32 mmol·L-1 sodium carbonate and 10 mmol·L-1 sodium bicarbonate(50∶50,V∶V),with gradient elution.The column temperature was set at 35℃,and the flow rate was 0.7 mL·min-1.Limits for the three impurity ions were set according to the International Council for Harmonisation guidelines(ICH M7(R1)and ICH Q3B),and the method was validated by testing six actual samples.Results Within the concentration range of 0.02-0.50 μg·mL-1,the linear correlation coefficients(R2)for the three impurity ions were all greater than 0.999.The detection limits ranged from 1.2 to 3.4 ng·mL-1,and the spiked recovery rates were between 92.0%and 102.0%.Results from the six actual samples demonstrated that the method effectively controlled the content of impurity ions.Conclusion This study successfully established a gradient elution ion chromatography method for the simultaneous determination of three impurity ions in Oral rehydration salts powder(Ⅲ).The method is highly sensitive,specific,and accurate.

Gingival recessions (GRs) result in root hypersensitivity, root surface caries, and esthetic problems. Various root coverage surgeries are being developed for periodontal plastic therapy. The tunnel technique (TUN) is one of the most widely applied surgeries due to its features of being minimally invasive, practical, excellent outcomes and long-term stability; however, there are still some limitations of this technique. The history and evolution from the envelope flap to TUN, including its efficiency when compared with coronally advanced flaps with a connective tissue graft (CTG), are reviewed in this paper. The limitations of TUN are discussed in consideration of our clinical experience; for example, there is high technique sensitivity when TUN is applied in GR>5 mm because of the great difficulty in covering the grafts. The advantages of surgical access, including vertical incisions in the vestibule, “W” type and pinhole access, are discussed for different situations. Mattress sutures and sling sutures in a single tooth or multiple teeth are applied in TUN. The different types of grafts, such as CTG, platelet-rich plasma, articular dermal matrix and xenogeneic collagen matrix, are described. Mechanical, chemical and biological conditioning of the root surface are recommended during surgery. Protecting the surgical area and taking antibiotics postoperatively are also very important. Finally, the modifications when TUN is applied with other kinds of techniques are discussed, including lateral closed TUN, laterally positioned flaps, double papilla flaps and frenuloplasty. Minimally invasive, esthetic, long-term stability and simplified techniques are the development trends of TUN in the future.

Objective:To analyze the phenotypes and genetic etiology of microcephaly- seizures-development delay (MCSZ) syndrome.Methods:The patient was diagnosed with MCSZ syndrome in June 2018 at Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital. She was the couple's first child, and the mother conceived a second child in 2020. The clinical data of the proband were retrospectively analyzed, and the bioinformatics analysis and whole-exome sequencing (WES) were performed on the proband and her parents to identify the pathogenic variants, which were further validated using Sanger sequencing. The prenatal genetic diagnosis of the second fetus was performed following the molecular diagnosis of the proband was confirmed. The clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of MCSZ syndrome were summarized by reviewing related literature.Results:(1) Case report: The patient, an eight-month-old girl, was admitted to our hospital due to microcephaly and repeated seizures. Another clinical characteristic was mental retardation. Auditory evoked potential detected moderate impairment of the left auditory nerve pathway. WES showed a compound heterozygous variation in the PNKP gene of the proband. Moreover, the pathogenic variation, c.199-10_203delinsTCTGAGGGGT, was inherited from the father, and the likely pathogenic variation, c.1505C>T(p.P502>L), was inherited from the mother, which was both de novo mutations. The compound heterozygous variation in the PNKP gene was considered genetic etiology based on the genetic testing and clinical features. Prenatal diagnosis showed that the second fetus did not inherit the PNKP gene variants from the parents and the couples chose to continue the pregnancy. A girl was born, and her psychomotor development and occipitofrontal size circumference were normal at 13 months old. (2) Literature review: 39 MCSZ syndrome cases were retrieved, including the present case and 38 cases from 12 relevant literature. The clinical characteristics were microcephaly (91.7%, 33/36), seizures (88.2%, 30/34), development delay (96.4%, 27/28), hyperactivity (25.6%, 9/39), gastroesophageal reflux (10.3%, 4/39), and hearing loss (7.7%, 3/39). Most patients' first onset of epilepsy was in infancy (96.3%, 26/27). Cranial MRI examination showed brain dysplasia in 31 cases (91.2%, 31/34). Conclusions:When the fetal head circumference is smaller than normal and is progressively reduced combined with postnatal microcephaly, epilepsy, developmental retardation, hyperactivity disorder, gastroesophageal reflux, and hearing loss, MCSZ syndrome should be considered. The prognosis varies widely, and genetic testing facilitates the early diagnosis and genetic counseling of MCSZ syndrome.

Two pedigrees are reported here including two siblings and a boy who were diagnosed with Aicardi-Goutières syndrome type 3 (AGS3) caused by compound heterozygous variation of RNASEH2C gene. Prenatal gene diagnosis was performed when their mothers were pregnant again. All three cases presented with epilepsy, microcephaly, muscular hypertonia and severe language, motor and mental retardation. In pedigree 1, genetic analysis showed compound heterozygous variants of c.194G>A (p.Gly65Asp) and c.434G>T (p.Arg145Leu) in the RNASEH2C gene of proband 1 and her younger brother, which were inherited from their mother and father respectively. While in pedigree 2, c.194G>A(p.Gly65Asp) and c.227C>T(p.Pro76Leu) compound heterozygous variants in the RNASEH2C gene were found in proband 2, which were inherited from his father and mother, respectively. Diagnosis of AGS3 was confirmed in these three cases based on their medical history and the testing results. The mothers from the two families underwent prenatal diagnosis in their subsequent pregnancy, and the variation only inherited from the mothers was detected, suggesting that the two fetuses are carriers. Both families chose to continue the pregnancy and delivered at full-term. No growth or development abnormalities were reported in the children during a one-year follow-up.

Objective:To investigate the analgesic effect of neurotropin (NTP) on bone cancer pain (BCP) and its preliminary mechanisms in rats.Methods:(1) According to the random number table method, 72 Sprague-Dawley (SD) female rats were randomly and equally divided into 6 groups: normal control group, sham-operated group, BCP model group, BCP+low-dose NTP group, BCP+medium-dose NTP group, and BCP+high-dose NTP group ( n=12). The SHZ-88 breast cancer cells were inoculated into the tibias of rats in the latter 4 groups to establish BCP models. After 15-21 d of modeling, the rats of the latter 3 groups were intraperitoneally administered with 1.2, 2.4 and 3.6 unit NTP, respectively, once per d for 7 consecutive d. The mechanical withdrawal threshold (MWT) changes were measured in each group before BCP and 5, 7, 10, 14, 17, and 21 d after BCP. The number of 5-hydroxytryptamine 7 (5-HT7) positive cells and 5-HT7 protein expression in the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (vlPAG) were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting, respectively. (2) Twenty-four rats 21 d after BCP modeling were randomly divided into BCP group, BCP+high-dose NTP group (BCP rats with intraperitoneal injection of 3.6 unit NTP), BCP+NTP+SB-269970 group (BCP rats with pretreatment of specific 5-HT7 receptor antagonist SB-269970 in the vlPAG for 30 min, and then, with intraperitoneal injection of 3.6 unit NTP, n=8). The MWT changes were measured in each group before NTP and 15, 30, 45, 60 min after NTP. Results:(1) Seventeen and 21 d after modeling, the MWT values of the modeled hind limb of rats in BCP+low-dose NTP group, BCP+medium-dose NTP group, and BCP+high-dose NTP group were significantly higher than those in BCP group; those in the BCP+high-dose NTP group were significantly higher than those in BCP+low-dose NTP group and BCP+medium-dose NTP group; those in BCP+medium-dose NTP group were statistically higher than those in the BCP+low-dose NTP group ( P<0.05). Twenty-one d after modeling, the number of 5-HT7 receptor positive cells and protein expression in the vlPAG of rats in the BCP+low-dose NTP group, BCP+medium-dose NTP group, and BCP+high-dose NTP group were significantly larger/higher than those in BCP group; those in the BCP+high-dose NTP group were significantly larger/higher than those in BCP+low-dose NTP group and BCP+medium-dose NTP group; those in BCP+medium-dose NTP group were statistically larger/higher than those in the BCP+low-dose NTP group ( P<0.05). (2) At 15, 30, 45 and 60 min after injection of NTP, the MWT values of the modeled hind limb of rats in the BCP+high-dose NTP group and BCP+NTP+SB-269970 group increased gradually, enjoying statistical significance as compared with those in the BCP group at the same time point ( P<0.05); however, the MWT values of the BCP+NTP+SB-269970 group were significantly lower as compared with those in the BCP+high-dose NTP group at the same time point ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The activation of 5-HT7 receptor in the vlPAG is involved in the analgesic effect of NTP on BCP in rats.

Objective: To effectively reduce the concentration of poisons in cleanroom, protect the health of workers, realize the optimization and automatic control of the new return air device. And the influence of initial concentration, air volume, temperature and relative humidity of formaldehyde on the purification effect of the new return air device was explored. Methods: The purification effect of the new return air device installed with the activated carbon and the photocatalyst purification net or ordinary activated carbon purification network was tested in a 60 m³ simulated cleanroom. The concentration of formaldehyde was determined by solution absorption-phenol reagent spectrophotometry. Based on the single factor experiment to determine the combination of two purification nets. The effects of air volume, initial formaldehyde concentration, temperature and relative humidity on the purification effect of the new return air device were investigated by orthogonal test. Then, the performance parameters of the return air device to purify formaldehyde were determined. Results: The formaldehyde purification efficiency of the two types of purification nets in the new return air device was higher than that of the ordinary activated carbon purification network (P<0.05) . The combination of activated carbon and photocatalyst purification net has no effect on the formaldehyde purification efficiency of the return air device (P>0.05) . According to the direct analysis and variance analysis, air volume was the most sensitive factor (F value is 18.894, P<0.05) , followed by initial concentration (F value is 16.128, P<0.05) , while temperature and relative humidity have little effect (F value is 0.041 and 0.599, respectively, P>0.05) . LSD analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the purification efficiency of formaldehyde between 475 m³/h and 626 m³/h (P>0.05) . From the perspective of formaldehyde purification efficiency and energy saving, when the air volume is set to 475 m³/h, the new return air device has higher purification efficiency for high concentration of formaldehyde. Conclusion The new return air device consisting of activated carbon and photocatalyst purification net can play a good purification role in cleanroom with different temperatures and different humidity. Its formaldehyde purification efficiency is affected by air volume and initial concentration.

Objective: To study the effect of activated carbon on the purification of formaldehyde in the clean workshop return air purification device and its influencing factors. Methods: From May to June 2018, choosed 4 different commercial activated carbons (bamboo charcoal, 1-3 mm, 3-5 mm; coconut shell charcoal, 6-12 mesh, 8-16 mesh) to make 5 types of activated carbon purification net. In the simulated clean plant laboratory, the detection of occupational disease hazards was used to test the purification effect of different types of activated carbon purification nets on formaldehyde. Results: The purification effect of different types of activated carbon increased with the prolongation of purification time, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) . Compared with other types of activated carbon, coconut shell charcoal (8-16 mesh, double layer) had the best purification effect, 15 min and 30 min purification efficiency was 58.72% and 85.20% respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) . The purification effect of double-layer coconut shell charcoal was better than single layer (P<0.05) . The purification effect of double-layer coconut shell charcoal (8-16 mesh) was better than double-layer coconut shell charcoal (6-12 mesh) , the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) . Coconut shell charcoal (8-16 mesh, double layer) had better purification effect than bamboo charcoal (P<0.05) . Conclusion Different specific surface area, particle size, and thickness of activated carbon have a certain effect on the purification effect of formaldehyde, and its selection has a certain significance in improving the occupational health protection level in the clean plant, solving the safe use of return air and reducing energy consumption.

Objective To investigate the expression of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain protein 2 (NOD2)in serum of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC),and to analyse the roles of NOD2 in HCC development and its clinical diagnostic value.Methods This study including 66 patients with HCC in the hospi-tal from March 1,2013 to December 31,2014 and 61 healthy controls.Serum NOD2 levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Analysis of significance was performed with rank sum test using SPSS statistical 16.0 software.Results Serum levels of NOD2 in HCC patients were 171 pg/ml,significantly higher than that of healthy controls(95 pg/ml,Z =-5.00,P =0.00),and the serum NOD2 levels were correla-ted with clinical stage of HCC (H=56.26,P =0.00).Compared with the serum NOD2 levels in stageⅠ,Ⅱpatients (106 pg/ml)and healthy controls (95 pg/ml),the serum NOD2 level in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ (220 pg/ml) were significantly increased (χ2 =31.24,P =0.00;χ2 =47.23,P =0.00),but the expression of NOD2 in stageⅠandⅡwere nearly equal to that of the healthy controls (χ2 =0.36,P =0.83).The ROC analysis revealed that the best diagnostic cutoff-point of serum NOD2 levels for predicting the Ⅲ and Ⅳ stages of HCC was 148.78 pg/ml,meanwhile corresponding sensitivity was 89.1% and specificity was 77.0%.Additionally,corre-lation analysis demonstrated that there was no significant correlation between NOD2 and alpha-fetal protein (r =0.44,P =0.14).Survival curves obtained that the survival time of HCC patients with NOD2 serum concentrations≥ 200 pg/ml was significantly less than that <200 pg/ml (χ2 =15.32,P <0.05).Conclusion NOD2 is highly expressed in the serum of HCC patients,especially in advanced patients,which is possibly involved in the development of HCC and has the potential to become an effective marker used for HCC diagnosis.
