Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 2023;36(2):95-100
Autologous ozonized blood transfusion(AOBT) is a therapy of re-transfusion of 100-200 mL of autologous blood after shaking and agitation with appropriate amount of oxygen-ozone in vitro. The oxidation of blood through the strong oxidation of ozone can enhance the non-specific immune response of the body, regulate the internal environment and promote health. This therapy has been increasingly applied in clinical practice, while no unified standard for the operation process in terms of ozone concentration, treatment frequency and treatment course had been established. This operation process of AOBT is primarily explored in order to standardize the operation process and ensure its safety and efficacy.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2019;32(7):780-784
Circular RNA is a special kind of endogenous non-coding RNA which is widely existing in eukaryotic cells. More studies confirmed that most circRNAs were produced in the process of RNA shearing and played a vital role in the occurrence and development of many diseases. Though there was not much research on circRNAs related to orthopaedic diseases in recent years, study found that circRNAs played a great significant role in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, target therapy of degenerative diseases(osteoarthritis, lumbar degenerative disease), metabolic diseases(osteoporosis) and motor system tumor(osteosarcoma). This study summarizes the research progress of circRNAs in orthopaedic diseases.

Objective To investigate the value of shear wave elastography (SWE) indirect evaluation on parotid function in Sjogren syndrome (SS) patients. Methods According to parotid function evaluated with scintigraphy,100 SS patients were divided into normal group, mild group, moderate group or severe group.SWE was performed in all the patients, and Young's modulus of parotid gland was obtained. The difference of Young's modulus among the four groups were compared, and the correlation between Young's modulus and paratid gland function were analyzed.ROC curve was used to evaluate the efficacy of Young's modulus in diagnosis of severe parotid function damage. Results The difference of Young's modulus among four groups was statistically significant (F=78.60,P<0.001).Young's modulus increased with the damage severity of parotid function (rs =0.83,P<0.001).Taking 38.38 kPa as threshold, the area under ROC curve of Young's modulus was 0.93 (P<0.001) in diagnosis of severe parotid function damage and the sensitivity and specificity was 89.3% and 84.7%,respectively.Conclusion SWE can indirect evaluate parotid function in SS patients, and is valuable in diagnosis and long-term follow-up of SS.

Objective To asses the value of shear wave elastorgraphy(SWE)in the diagnosis of salivary gland manifestation in sjogren syndrome. Methods Seventy-nine patients with suspected diagnosis of Sjogren syn-drome and thirty healthy volunteers were enrolled. aned divided to the SS group,non-SS group and healthy group accoroding to the 2002 American-European Consensus Group. The bilateral parotid and submandibular gland of all patients were examined with shear wave Elastography, then the mean Young's modulus(YM)of bilateral gland were obtained. The differences of Emean between all groups were compared. Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was drawn to evaluate the best cut-off value in diagnosis of Sjogren syndrome. Results The differ-ences of YM between the two sides of parotid gland and submaxillary gland were not statistically significant(P >0.05).On ROC curve, the areas under the curve(AUC),threshold, sensitivity, specificity of the mean YM value in Parotid and Submaxillary gland were 0.921 and 0.916(P<0.05),18.30 and 16.57(kPa),71.7%and 86.8%, 94.4% and 78.5%,respectively. Conclusion The mean YM value of Parotid and Submaxillary gland of Sjogren syndrome can quantitatively assess the gland's elasticity.SWE can provide clincal evidence for diagnosis of sjogren syndrome.

Objective Ultraviolet radiation can induce the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in pterygium epithelial cells. To investigate the effects of curcumin on the expression of MMP 2 and MMP 9 in human pterygium fibroblasts (HPFs) on UVA-irradiation and its possible mechanism. Methods After optimizing the dose of UVA irradiation and the concentration of curcumin, HPFs in the second generation were divided into control group (no exposure to UVA, no medication), UVA group (exposure to UVA), and UVA + curcumin group (exposure to UVA + curcumin). MMP-2 and MMP-9 levels were tested by zymography. The mRNA expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 was detected by RT-PCR. The NF-κB-DNA binding activity was detected by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA).Results Compared with the control group, the secretion of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the UVA group was increased significantly (P<0.05), which could be suppressed by curcumin (P<0.05). The MMP-9 mRNA levels were also significantly increased in UVA group \[(100±0)% vs (247.0±10.8)%, P<0.05\], and could be inhibited by curcumin \[(88.7±5.1)% vs (247.0±10.8)%, P<0.05\]. The NF-κB-DNA binding was remarkably increased in UVA group (P<0.05), and significantly decreased after treatment with curcumin (P<0.05).Conclusion Curcumin can inhibit the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in UVA-irradiated HPFs, and the mechanism involved in this protective effect might be its inhibitory effect on NF-κB activation.

Objective To explore the value of salivary glands ultrasonography in diagnosis of Sj(o)gren's syndrome (SS).Methods Ninety-two patients with symptoms of xerophthalmia or xerostomia were enrolled, and 42 of them were divided to the SS group and the others to non-SS group. The bilateral parotid and submandibular gland of all patients were examined with ultrasonography, then the ultrasonographic features of bilateral salivary glands were obtained. The imaging features of salivary glands were evaluated by a semi-quantitative scoring system. The differences of ultrasonography scores between SS group and non-SS group were compared. The value of semi-quantitative scoring system in diagnosis of SS was analyzed. Results Salivary gland ultrasonic manifestations of 38 patients (38/50,76.00%) in non-SS group were normal, whose ultrasonographic scores were 0.Whereas the ultrasound of 32 patients (32/42,76.19%) were abnormalities in SS group, whose ultrasonographic scores were ≥1.Ultrasonographic scores in SS group were higher than that of non-SS group (P<0.001).The area under the ROC curve of ultrasound score in diagnosis of SS was 0.805 (P<0.001,95% confidence interval was [0.711,0.899]).When the cutoff value of the scores was 2,the sensitivity and specificity were 59.5 %,and 92.0%.Conclusion The ultrasonographic scoring of salivary glands can provide a semi-quantitative index for inhomogeneity of the salivary glands, which has significant value in the diagnosis of SS.

National Journal of Andrology 2017;23(9):838-841
The transcription factor SOX10, as a major actor in the development of the neural crest, plays a key role in the maintenance of progenitor cell multipotency, lineage specification, and cell differentiation. Abnormalities of neural crest development in humans lead to a number of genetic diseases known as neurocristopathies or neural crest disorders. The mutation of SOX10 can cause Kallmann syndrome (KS), which is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous condition and defined by the association between anosmia and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism due to incomplete migration of neuroendocrine gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) cells along the olfactory, vomeronasal, and terminal nerves. Since then, there have been a number of related reports that mutation of SOX10 will lead to KS with deafness. This review focuses on the SOX10 gene and the advances in the diagnosis and genetic studies of KS with deafness caused by the mutatuin of SOX10.
