BACKGROUND:
The available evidence regarding the benefits of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) on patients receiving dialysis with coronary artery disease (CAD) is limited and inconsistent. This study aimed to evaluate the association between PCI and clinical outcomes as compared with medical therapy alone in patients undergoing dialysis with CAD in China.
METHODS:
This multicenter, retrospective study was conducted in 30 tertiary medical centers across 12 provinces in China from January 2015 to June 2021 to include patients on dialysis with CAD. The primary outcome was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), defined as a composite of cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, and non-fatal stroke. Secondary outcomes included all-cause death, the individual components of MACE, and Bleeding Academic Research Consortium criteria types 2, 3, or 5 bleeding. Multivariable Cox proportional hazard models were used to assess the association between PCI and outcomes. Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) and propensity score matching (PSM) were performed to account for potential between-group differences.
RESULTS:
Of the 1146 patients on dialysis with significant CAD, 821 (71.6%) underwent PCI. After a median follow-up of 23.0 months, PCI was associated with a 43.0% significantly lower risk for MACE (33.9% [ n = 278] vs . 43.7% [ n = 142]; adjusted hazards ratio 0.57, 95% confidence interval 0.45-0.71), along with a slightly increased risk for bleeding outcomes that did not reach statistical significance (11.1% vs . 8.3%; adjusted hazards ratio 1.31, 95% confidence interval, 0.82-2.11). Furthermore, PCI was associated with a significant reduction in all-cause and cardiovascular mortalities. Subgroup analysis did not modify the association of PCI with patient outcomes. These primary findings were consistent across IPTW, PSM, and competing risk analyses.
CONCLUSION
This study indicated that PCI in patients on dialysis with CAD was significantly associated with lower MACE and mortality when comparing with those with medical therapy alone, albeit with a slightly increased risk for bleeding events that did not reach statistical significance.

Objective To assess the effect of safflowerGualou-Gancao decoction combined with pulsed radio frequency for the patients with herpes zoster. Methods A total of 60 patients with herpes zoster were randomly divided into 2 groups, 30 in each. Both groups were treated with safflowerGualou-Gancao decoction, and the treatment group added Pulsed radio frequency at 3rd day. Both groups were treated 13 days. the VAS scale was used to evaluate the outcome of pain. Results The recovery rate of the treatment group was 83.3%(25/30), and the control group was 43.3%(13/30). The difference between two groups was sifnificant (χ2=8.648,P=0.003). The VAS scores at 9th day (4.4 ± 0.2vs .6.4 ± 0.1,t=48.990) 13th day (1.9 ± 0.2vs. 3.6 ± 0.1,t=41.641) in the treatment group were significantly lower than the control group (P<0.01),Conclusions The safflowerGualou-Gancao decoction combined with Pulsed radio frequency could relieve the pain and improve the clinical effect on the patients with herpes zoster.

To compare the principles and system frameworks on PET and MRI systems. The functional characteristics and present adoptive structural models of PET/MRI as molecular imaging equipment is introduced in particular. To compare several update techniques of attenuation correction for PET image with MRI parameters and to expatiate their deficiencies. The advantages on PET/MRI clinical applications and the future development of PET/MRI are introduced briefly.

Porcine endogenous retroviruses (PERV) can infect human cell in vitro, which raised widely concerns re-garding the transmission of PERV to xenograft recipients. It's essential to establish a method for detection of PERV.3 pairs of primers were synthesized according to the sequence of gag, pol and env gene of PERV. Polymerase chainreaction (PCR) and reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) assays were performed for detection of PERV provirusDNA and PERV specific mRNA. The results showed that provirus DNA and mRNA of PERV existed and expressedin all 4 tested cell lines. The sizes of amplified fragments are identical with the predicted. These methods may be suit-able for monitoring PERV in other cells or tissue.
