Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of lung cancer death in Gansu Province, and to provide a theoretical basis for formulating the prevention and control measures of lung cancer. Methods The lung cancer death data from national monitoring sites in Gansu Province from 2014 to 2023 were selected. Excel2013 and SPSS17.0 were used to calculate lung cancer mortality, standardized mortality, potential years of life lost (PYLL), potential years of life lost rate, standardized potential years of life lost rate, and average years of life lost (AYLL). The annual percent change (APC) of the crude lung cancer mortality rate and standardized mortality rate was calculated using Joinpiont 4.8.0.1 software. The mortality difference decomposition method was used to analyze demographic and non-demographic factors. Results From 2014 to 2023, the crude mortality rate of lung cancer among the residents of the monitoring sites in Gansu Province showed an increasing trend. The mortality rate of males was higher than that of females. The mortality rate in urban areas was higher than that in rural areas. The population structure was the main factor leading to the increase of lung cancer mortality rate in urban areas, while other non-demographic factors were the main factors leading to the increase of lung cancer mortality rate in rural areas. The crude lung cancer mortality rate was low at the age of < 30, and then the mortality rate increased with age. Lung cancer PYLL was higher in males than in females, and AYLL was higher in females than in males. Conclusion The mortality rate of lung cancer in the monitoring sites in Gansu Province is on the rise. The urban areas and male population are the key areas and groups for intervention. It is suggested to further strengthen the early screening and intervention of lung cancer to reduce the mortality rate of lung cancer.

Metabonomics and proteomics were employed to investigate the mechanism of Yuzhi Zhixue Granules in treating polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance(PCOS-IR). The disease model was established by feeding a high-fat diet and gavage of letrozole solution and it was then treated with different doses of Yuzhi Zhixue Granules. The therapeutic effect of Yuzhi Zhixue Granules was evaluated based on the body mass, homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index, serum levels of adipokines, and histopathological changes of rats. Metabolomics and proteomics were employed to find the action pathways of Yuzhi Zhixue Granules. The results showed that Yuzhi Zhixue Granules reduced the body mass, improved the insulin sensitivity and aromatase activity, improved the levels of leptin, adiponectin and other adipokines, and alleviated insulin resistance, histopathological changes, and metabolic disorders in PCOS-IR rats. Metabolomics results revealed 14 metabolites with altered levels in the ovarian tissue, which were closely related to glutathione metabolism and pyruvate metabolism. Proteomics results showed that the therapeutic effect of Yuzhi Zhixue Granules was mainly related to the adipokine, adenosine 5'-monophosphate(AMP)-activated protein kinase(AMPK), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt), forkhead box protein O(FoxO), and mechanistic target of rapamycin(mTOR) signaling pathways. Western blot results showed that compared with the model group, Yuzhi Zhixue Granules treatment decreased the p-AMPK/AMPK and p-FoxO1/FoxO1 levels, increased the p-mTOR/mTOR level, and up-regulated the expression level of recombinant glucose transporter 4(GLUT4). Yuzhi Zhixue Granules can balance amino acid metabolism and pyruvate metabolism by regulating the AMPK/mTOR/FoxO/GLUT pathway to maintain the homeostasis of the ovarian environment and alleviate insulin resistance, thus treating PCOS-IR.

BACKGROUND:
Modern acupuncture anesthesia is a combination of Chinese and Western medicine that integrates the theories of acupuncture with anesthesia. However, some clinical studies of acupuncture anesthesia lack specific descriptions of randomization, allocation concealment, and blinding processes, with subsequent systematic reviews indicating a risk of bias.
OBJECTIVE:
Clinical trial registration is essential for the enhancement of the quality of clinical trials. This study aims to summarize the status of clinical trial registrations for acupuncture anesthesia listed on the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP).
SEARCH STRATEGY:
We searched the ICTRP for clinical trials related to acupuncture anesthesia registered between January 1, 2001 and May 31, 2023. Additionally, related publications were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and Wanfang Data. Registrations and publications were analyzed for consistency in trial design characteristics.
INCLUSION CRITERIA:
Clinical trials that utilized one of several acupuncture-related therapies in combination with pharmacological anesthesia during the perioperative period were eligible for this review.
DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS:
Data extracted from articles included type of surgical procedure, perioperative symptoms, study methodology, type of intervention, trial recruitment information, and publication information related to clinical enrollment.
RESULTS:
A total of 166 trials related to acupuncture anesthesia from 21 countries were included in the analysis. The commonly reported symptoms in the included studies were postoperative nausea and vomiting (19.9%) and postoperative pain (13.3%). The concordance between the publications and the trial protocols in the clinical registry records was poor, with only 31.7% of the studies being fully compatible. Inconsistency rates were high for sample size (39.0%, 16/41), blinding (36.6%, 15/41), and secondary outcome indicators (24.4%, 10/41).
CONCLUSION
The volume of acupuncture anesthesia clinical trials registered in international trial registries over the last 20 years is low, with insufficient disclosure of results. Postoperative nausea and vomiting as well as postoperative pain, are the most investigated for acupuncture intervention. Objective:
To analyze the influencing factors for hospitalization costs among stroke patients with different subtypes, so as to provide the reference for reducing the economic burden of patients.
Methods:
Data of patients with hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke who were discharged from hospitals in Nanshan District, Shenzhen City from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2021 were collected through Hospital Information System. Hospitalization costs were analyzed between hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients, and factors affecting hospitalization costs among stroke patients with different subtypes were identified using a structural equation model.
Results:
A total of 10 298 patients with stroke were recruited, including 2 820 patients with hemorrhagic stroke (27.38%) and 7 478 patients with ischemic stroke (72.62%). The patients with hemorrhagic stroke had a median duration of hospital stay of 19.00 (interquartile range, 18.00) d, and a median hospitalization cost of 26 759.48 (interquartile range, 51 000.87) Yuan. The patients with ischemic stroke had a median duration of hospital stay of 12.00 (interquartile range, 10.00) d, and a median hospitalization cost of 12 199.87 (interquartile range, 13 290.20) Yuan. Structural equation model analysis showed that department of hospitalization, discharge status, ways of leaving hospital, surgery and hypertension had direct effects on hospitalization costs and indirect effects on hospitalization costs through duration of hospital stay among hemorrhagic stroke patients, and duration of hospital stay had the highest total effect (0.684), followed by surgery (0.632). Employment status, admission route, department of hospitalization, ways of leaving hospital, payment mode, surgery and dyslipidemia had direct effects on hospitalization costs and indirect effects on hospitalization costs through duration of hospital stay among ischemic stroke patients, and duration of hospital stay (0.746), surgery (0.424) and department of hospitalization (0.151) ranked the top three in total effects.
Conclusion

Objective:To explore the mediating effect of medication self-efficacy between perceived social support and compliance behavior in young patients with newly treated pulmonary tuberculosis under the Southern Xinjiang Model. Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Kashgar Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Institute Hospital and Tuberculosis Specialist Hospital of Hetian from January 2022 to April 2023. A total of 302 young patients with initial treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis in were selected as the research objects by convenience sampling method. The General Information Questionnaire, the Tuberculosis Compliance Behavior Rating Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale and Self-efficacy for Appropriate Medication Use scale were used to investigate, and the correlation analysis and mediating effect analysis were carried out. Results:The total scores of compliance behavior, self-efficacy and perceived social support were (119.09 ± 13.49), (23.48 ± 6.25) and (55.67 ± 11.33) respectively. All dimensions of medication self-efficacy and perceived social support were positively correlated with compliance behavior ( r values were 0.555 - 0.943, all P<0.01), and medication self-efficacy was positively correlated with perceived social support ( r = 0.981, P<0.01). Medication self-efficacy played a partial mediating effect between perceived social support and compliance behavior, accounting for 74.46% of the total effect. Conclusions:The medication self-efficacy of young patients with newly treated pulmonary tuberculosis is the mediating variable between perceived social support and compliance behavior. Medical staff should focus on and carefully evaluate the medication self-efficacy and perceived social support of patients, so as to give supportive intervention in time, so as to change or even reverse the non-compliance behavior and improve the compliance level of patients.

Non-syndromic oral cleft (NSOC), a common birth defect, remains to be a critical public health problem in China. In the context of adjustment of childbearing policy for two times in China and the increase of pregnancy at older childbearing age, NSOC risk prediction will provide evidence for high-risk population identification and prenatal counseling. Genome-wide association study and second generation sequencing have identified multiple loci associated with NSOC, facilitating the development of genetic risk prediction of NSOC. Despite the marked progress, risk prediction models of NSOC still faces multiple challenges. This paper summarizes the recent progress in research of NSOC risk prediction models based on the results of extensive literature retrieval to provide some insights for the model development regarding research design, variable selection, model-build strategy and evaluation methods.
