Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and mortality worldwide. Research into its mechanisms and the development of therapeutic strategies heavily rely on animal models that accurately replicate the pathological features of human disease. An ideal animal model for stroke should not only reproduce the neurological deficits and pathological changes observed in clinical patients but also demonstrate good reproducibility and translational value. This review focuses on the preparation and evaluation methods of ischemic stroke animal models. Firstly, it elaborates on the selection criteria, advantages, and disadvantages of experimental animals, including rodents (rats, mice) and non-rodents (non-human primates, miniature pigs, rabbits, zebrafish). Secondly, it provides a detailed overview of the modeling principles, key procedures, and application scopes for ischemic stroke models and hemorrhagic stroke models. Furthermore, the review summarizes advances in the applications of emerging technologies—including gene editing [e.g., clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9) gene editing], multimodal imaging (e.g., two-photon microscopy, photoacoustic imaging), artificial intelligence, optogenetics, 3D bioprinting, organoid models, and multi-omics–in model optimization, precise assessment, and mechanistic investigation. Finally, based on a systematic analysis of relevant domestic and international literature from 2019 to 2024, this review discusses model selection strategies based on research objectives, a multidimensional evaluation system encompassing behavioral, imaging, and molecular pathological assessments, and envisions future directions involving technological integration to achieve model precision and individualization. This article aims to provide a comprehensive methodological reference to help researchers select appropriate animal models of stroke according to specific scientific questions.

In this paper， by referring to ancient and modern literature， the textual research of Inulae Flos has been conducted to clarify the name， origin， production area， quality evaluation， harvesting， processing and others， so as to provide reference and basis for the development and utilization of famous classical formulas containing this herb. After textual research， it could be verified that the medicinal use of Inulae Flos was first recorded in Shennong Bencaojing of the Han dynasty. In successive dynasties， Xuanfuhua has been taken as the official name， and it also has other alternative names such as Jinfeicao， Daogeng and Jinqianhua. The period before the Song and Yuan dynasties， the main origin of Inulae Flos was the Asteraceae plant Inula japonica， and from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the present， I. japonica and I. britannica are the primary source. In addition to the dominant basal species， there are also regional species such as I. linariifolia， I. helianthus-aquatili， and I. hupehensis. The earliest recorded production areas in ancient times were Henan， Hubei and other places， and the literature records that it has been distributed throughout the country since modern times. The medicinal part is its flower， the harvesting and processing method recorded in the past dynasties is mainly harvested in the fifth and ninth lunar months， and dried in the sun， and the modern harvesting is mostly harvested in summer and autumn when the flowers bloom， in order to remove impurities， dry in the shade or dry in the sun. In addition， the roots， whole herbs and aerial parts are used as medicinal materials. In ancient times， there were no records about the quality of Inulae Flos， and in modern times， it is generally believed that the quality of complete flower structure， small receptacles， large blooms， yellow petals， long filaments， many fluffs， no fragments， and no branches is better. Ancient processing methods primarily involved cleaning， steaming， and sun-drying， supplemented by techniques such as boiling， roasting， burning， simmering， stir-frying， and honey-processing. Modern processing focuses mainly on cleaning the stems and leaves before use. Regarding the medicinal properties， ancient texts describe it as salty and sweet in taste， slightly warm in nature， and mildly toxic. Modern studies characterize it as bitter， pungent， and salty in taste， with a slightly warm nature. Its therapeutic effects remain consistent across eras， including descending Qi， resolving phlegm， promoting diuresis， and stopping vomiting. Based on the research results， it is recommended that when developing famous classical formulas containing Inulae Flos， either I. japonica or I. britannica should be used as the medicinal source. Processing methods should follow formula requirements， where no processing instructions are specified， the raw products may be used after cleaning.

Objective To analyze the risk factors for postoperative intra-abdominal infection in gastric cancer pa-tients,as well as construct and validate a nomogram prediction model.Methods 588 gastric cancer surgery pa-tients who admitted to the Department of General Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from April 2021 to March 2024 were selected as the study subjects.Clinical data of patients were collected and ran-domly divided into the training set and the validation set according to the ratio of 3∶1.Clinical data between two groups of patients were compared.Patients were divided into the infection group and non-infection group according to whether they had intra-abdominal infection after surgery.Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted,and a nomogram prediction model was constructed and validated based on the results of multivariate analysis.Results Among the 588 patients,52(8.84％)had postoperative intra-abdominal infection.A total of 65 strains of patho-gens were detected from 52 peritoneal fluid specimens,out of which 47(72.31％)were Gram-negative bacteria,15(23.07％)were Gram-positive bacteria,and 3(4.62％)were fungi.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the degree of eradication(microscopic residue),combined organ resection,hypertension,history of ab-dominal surgery,and duration of surgery were all independent risk factors for postoperative intra-abdominal infec-tion in gastric cancer patients(all P＜0.05).Based on multivariate analysis results,a nomogram prediction model for postoperative intra-abdominal infection in gastric cancer patients was constructed.The receiver operating charac-teristic(ROC)curve result showed that the areas under the ROC curve(AUCs)of the training set and validation set were 0.764(95％CI:0.677-0.852)and 0.712(95％CI:0.565-0.860,respectively,indicating that the model had good discriminability for postoperative intra-abdominal infection in gastric cancer patients.Hosmer-Lemeshow test showed a x2 value of 8.491 and a P value of 0.387,suggesting goodness fit of the model.The decision curve analysis(DCA)result showed that within the risk threshold ranges of the training set(0.05-0.4)and validation set(0.1-1.0,positive benefits may be obtained by using the model to intervene in patients with high risk of post-operative intra-abdominal infection.Clinical impact curve(CIC)analysis result showed that within the risk thresh-old ranges of the training set(0-0.4)and validation set(0-0.5),the number of infected cases predicted by the model was higher than the actual number,indicating good clinical practicality of the model.Conclusion Construc-tion of a nomogram prediction model based on independent risk factors for postoperative intra-abdominal infection in gastric cancer can provide a quantitative and intuitive reference for the early clinical assessment of postoperative in-tra-abdominal infection in gastric cancer.

Objective To explore the distribution law of TCM syndromes in children with severe mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(SMPP)based on factor analysis and clustering analysis;To provide references for accurately identifying this disease.Methods General data,symptoms,signs and tongue and pulse were retrospectively collected from 408 children with SMPP who were hospitalized in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Beijing Children's Hospital,Capital Medical University between September 2019 and November 2023.The relevant clinical information was extracted and entered into the Excel 2019 database,and SPSS 27.0 was used to perform factor analysis.The sample of 408 cases was subjected to K-means clustering analysis,and finally,the distribution of TCM syndromes was derived.Results Factor analysis screened five common factors with eigenvalue>1,and its cumulative contribution rate was 63.063%;clustering analysis co-classified four types of syndromes,among which phlegm-heat-closure lung syndrome,toxic-heat-closure lung syndrome,lung-spleen-qi deficiency syndrome and healthy qi deficiency and pathogens attachment syndrome accounted for 39.22%,32.35%,15.20%and 12.75%,respectively.Conclusion Pediatric SMPP is characterized by toxic heat,qi deficiency,phlegm-heat,damp-heat and yin deficiency,and the disease is located in lungs,spleen and heart;TCM syndromes are characterized by phlegm-heat-closure lung,toxic-heat-closure lung,healthy qi deficiency and pathogens attachment and lung-spleen-qi deficiency,with phlegm-heat-closure lung syndrome and toxic-heat-closure lung syndrome being the most common syndromes.

Objective:Based on a single-center retrospective study,to explore the efficacy of intervertebral fusion through different approaches combined with pedicle screw internal fixation in the treatment of single-segment low-grade lumbar spondylolisthesis.Methods:This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 87 patients with single-segment low-grade lumbar spondylolisthesis who were treated in our hospital from January 2021 to August 2022,the cases were divided into Group A(41 cases)and Group B(46 cases)according to the differences in surgical methods.Group A received treatment with posterior lumbar interbody fusion(PLIF)combined with pedicle screw internal fixation,while Group B received treatment with percutaneous endoscopic posterior lumbar interbody fusion(PE-PLIF)combined with pedicle screw internal fixation.Both groups were followed up for two years.The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores of the waist and legs,perioperative indicators,recovery of lumbar function[Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score,Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)score],and serum inflammatory mediators levels[interleukin-1α(IL-1α),transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1),interleukin-6(IL-6)],the rate of lumbar interbody fusion,the rate of lumbar spondylolisthesis and the incidence of postoperative complications of the two groups were compared.Results:The operation time and the number of intraoperative X-ray fluoroscopy sessions in group B were both more than those in group A,while the hospital stay,the intraoperative blood loss and total incision length in Group B were all shorter than those in group A(P＜0.05).The VAS scores of the waist and legs in both groups decreased at 3 d after operation and the last follow-up(P＜0.05),and the VAS scores of the waist and legs in group B were lower than those in group A(P＜0.05).The ODI scores of both groups decreased at 3 d after operation and the last follow-up,and the ODI scores of group B were lower than those in group A;The JOA score increased,and the JOA scores of group B were all higher than those in group A(P＜0.05).Serum IL-1α,TGF-β1 and IL-6 levels in both groups decreased at 3 d and 7 d after operation,and serum IL-1α,TGF-β1 and IL-6 levels in group B were all lower than those in group A(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications,the rate of lumbar interbody fusion,and the rate of lumbar spondylolisthesis between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Compared with PLIF,PE-PLIF combined with pedicle screw internal fixation in the treatment of single-segment low-grade lumbar.spondylolisthesis,can better relieve the degree of pain of the waist and legs,improve lumbar dysfunction,regulate serum inflammatory mediators levels more effectively,and has higher safety and significant therapeutic efficacy.

Objective:To systematically evaluate and integrate the exercise experience of overweight or obese pregnant women during pregnancy, in order to provide basis for the formulation of standardized exercise programs for this population.Methods:We searched databases including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CINAHL, Embase, Ovid, PsycINFO, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, VIP, Wanfang and China National Knowledge Infrastructure, from their inception to August 16, 2023, to collect qualitative studies on the exercise experience of overweight or obese pregnant women during pregnancy. The quality of included studies was evaluated according to Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative studies in Australia. The results were integrated by integrating methods.Results:A total of 11 studies were included. Sixty-one complete findings were grouped according to similarities to form 9 new categories. These categories resulted in 3 synthesized findings. Pregnant women with overweight or obesity were affected by promoting and hindering factors; careful balance of exercise risk and benefit for overweight or obese pregnant women during pregnancy; expectations and needs of overweight or obese pregnant women for exercise during pregnancy.Conclusions:Overweight or obese pregnant women highly rated the benefits and importance of exercise, but their participation and adherence to exercise is challenging. Medical staff should pay attention to the exercise experience of overweight or obese pregnant women during pregnancy, understand the driving factors and obstacles of exercise for overweight or obese pregnant women, in order to provide standardized and personalized exercise guidance programs for overweight or obese pregnant women.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical characteristics and genetic etiology of a child with Oral-facial-digital syndrome type Ⅰ(OFDSⅠ). METHODS: A child with OFDSⅠ who received treatment at the Women and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Ningbo University in March 2023 was selected as the study subject. A retrospective research method was used to collect the clinical data of the child. Peripheral venous blood samples were collected from the child, her parents and sister. Genomic DNA was extracted, and whole exome sequencing (WES) was performed. Candidate variants were validated using Sanger sequencing for familial verification. According to the Standards and Guidelines for the Interpretation of Sequence Variants developed by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) (hereinafter referred to as the "ACMG Guidelines"), the pathogenicity of the candidate variant was rated. This study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Ningbo University Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital (Ethic No.: EC 2024-063). RESULTS: The child was a prematurely born female with deformities of the oral cavity, fingers, and toes. She was admitted to the Neonatal Department of the Hospital where she was born due to shortness of breath 15 minutes after birth. The WES results indicated that the child has harbored a heterozygous c.710dup (p.Y238Vfs*2) frameshifting variant of the OFD1 gene. Sanger sequencing confirmed that neither of the child's parents nor her sister had carried the same variant. According to the ACMG guidelines, the variant was rated as pathogenic (PVS1+PS4_Moderate+PM2-Supporting+PM6_Supporting+PP4). CONCLUSION Children with OFDSⅠ have clinical features such as oral, finger, and toe deformities. The c.710dup (p.Y238Vfs*2) variant of the OFD1 gene probably underlay the OFDSⅠ in this child. Above result has enriched the mutational spectrum of the OFD1 gene.

Objective To clarify the evidence of the frequency and risk factors for falls in knee osteoarthritis(KOA)of adults by meta-analysis.Methods Computerized searches of the CNKI,VIP,Wanfang data,CBM,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science were conducted for literature on risk factors for falls in adults with KOA from the inception of the databases to August 2024.After literature screening,data extraction,and quality evaluation,RevMan 5.4 software was used for Meta-analysis.Results A total of 26 articles were involved.Meta-analysis result showed that the rate of falls was 29.0％.Factors associated with increased risk of falls included being female(OR=1.35),decreased lower limb muscle strength(OR=1.72),decreased knee flexion muscle strength(OR=7.05),decreased static posture stability(OR=1.28),opioid use(OR=1.79),antidepressant use(OR=1.69),frequent stair climbing(OR=7.58),combined neurological disease(OR=1.77),history of falls(OR=3.29)and fear of falling(OR=2.54).Conclusion The rate of falls of patients with KOA is high.The adults with KOA who are women,have lower muscle strength of lower limbs and knee flexion muscle strength,poorer static posture stability,use opioids,antidepressant,frequent stair climbing,combined neurological disorders,previous falls in the past year and fear of falls are at higher risk of falls.Healthcare professionals should dynamically assess and detect the risk of falls in the patients with KOA and adopt targeted,individualized interventions to prevent falls.
