There is a complex biological mechanism in the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(PKB/Akt)/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)signaling pathway, which plays a key role in the development and development of lymphoma. In this review, the relevant literature of PI3K inhibitor research in the past five years summarized and analyzed, and found that the research and development, application, efficacy, and adverse reactions of PI3K inhibitors are the current research hotspots, and the positive results of PI3K inhibitors in clinical trials and basic research have strongly demonstrated the potential of PI3K inhibitors in personalized treatment of lymphoma. In order to maximize the clinical benefits,a variety of strategies need to be explored, including novel drugs with better selectivity and safety, and related combination therapies.

Objective:To investigate the dynamic changes of serum long non-coding ribonucleic acid antisense non-coding RNA in the INK4 locus (LncRNA ANRIL), long non-coding ribonucleic acid maternally expressed gene 3 (LncRNA MEG3) and inflammatory factors [interferon-γ (IFN-γ), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-18 (IL-18) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β)] in patients with acute ischemic stroke and their correlation with neurological impairment. Methods:This prospective study included fifty-two patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted to the Central Hospital of Dalian University of Technology were included, and the neurological impairments of the patients were scored using the National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) on the first day of the onset of the disease, and serum LncRNA ANRIL, LncRNA MEG3 and inflammatory factors (IFN-γ, IL-6, IL-18 and IL-1β) were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) at the first, second and seventh day of the onset of the disease. The correlation between serum LncRNA ANRIL, LncRNA MEG3 and inflammatory factor levels and neurological impairment at each time point was analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results:Among 52 patients, mild group had 22 cases (NIHSS score <5 scores), and moderate-to-severe group had 30 cases (NIHSS score ≥5 scores). In acute ischemic stroke patients with moderate-to-severe group, the expression level of LncRNA MEG3 was higher than in the mild group, but the intergroup difference did not reach statistical significance ( P>0.05). LncRNA ANRIL, LncRNA MEG3, IFN-γ, IL-18 and IL-1β peaked at the same time point in acute ischemic stroke patients, all within second day of the onset of the disease. Spearman correlation analysis showed that the serum LncRNA MEG3 level on the first day of the onset of the disease was significantly positively correlated with NIHSS score ( P = 0.006), and serum LncRNA ANRIL level on seventh day was significantly positively correlated with NIHSS score ( P = 0.049). Conclusions:Serum LncRNA ANRIL, LncRNA MEG3 and inflammatory factors (IL-18, IL-1β and IFN-γ) are highly expressed in patients with acute ischemic stroke, peaking on the second day of onset. LncRNA MEG3 levels on the first day of onset and LncRNA ANRIL levels on the seventh day of onset are helpful in determining the degree of neurological impairment in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

To investigate the prevalence of influenza D virus(IDV)in cattle and swine populations in Jilin Province,China,277 nasopharyngeal swabs were collected from livestock exhibiting influ-enza-like symptoms for IDV detection.Virus isolation was performed using swine testicular(ST)cells for PCR-positive samples, followed by comprehensive analyses including whole-genome se-quencing,phylogenetic analysis, electron microscopic observation of viral morphology, and glycosy-lation site prediction. Two IDV strains were successfully isolated from bovine samples, designated as D/bovine/China/JL22/2024(JL22)and D/bovine/China/JL34/2024(JL34).These strains were demonstrated to have specific hemagglutination activity against turkey red blood cells, while no he-magglutination to chicken, rabbit,or guinea pig erythrocytes.Virus-inoculated ST cells exhibited distinct cytopathic effects(CPE)within 48 h,with a hemagglutination titer of 4 log2 in the culture supernatant.Phylogenetic analysis of the hemagglutinin-esterase-fusion(HEF)gene indicated that these strains were most closely related to the Japanese isolate D/Yamagata2019,belonging to the YAMA2019 lineage.Genomic sequence analysis showed the absence of genetic reassortment in these isolates. In this study, two IDV strains were successfully isolated and characterized, which provides preliminary insights into their genomic sequences and biological properties. The findings confirm the presence of IDV in bovine populations in Jilin Province and provide the fundamental data for future epidemiological surveillance and control strategies of IDV.

Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder characterized by abnormal synchronous neuronal discharges in the brain, often accompanied by various complications. The pathogenesis of epilepsy has not yet been fully elucidated. Optogenetics, a cutting-edge technique that integrates optics and genetics, enables precise modulation of specific neurons by regulating light-sensitive proteins. Utilizing optogenetic technology has facilitated the dissection of neural circuits involved in epileptic seizures within brain regions such as the hippocampus, thalamus, hypothalamus. It has also helped identify potential therapeutic targets for epilepsy-related complications, including cognitive impairment, sudden unexpected death in epilepsy and mood disorders. However, in the process of advancing from basic research to clinical treatment, its translational path is profoundly influenced by factors such as stimulation modes (the choice between open-loop and closed-loop systems), key parameters (light frequency), and intervention strategies (unilateral or bilateral target selection). The individualized customization of these factors represents the future direction for overcoming current translational bottlenecks and achieving precise treatment.

Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)constitutes the largest portion of lung cancer overall, with high incidence and mortality rates.Apoptosis,is a hot focus in the clinical treatment of NSCLC,its main pathways include the extrinsic death receptor pathway, intrinsic mitochondrial apoptosis pathway and endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway, collectively regulating the cellular apoptosis process.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has significant efficacy in the treatment and prognosis of NSCLC,with advantages such as boosting the body's resistance and less adverse drug reactions.Studies have shown that various individual Chinese herbal medicines and compound formulas can treat NSCLC through the apoptosis pathway, alleviating the adverse drug reaction of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.Based on this, this article summarizes recent domestic and international literature, focusing on apoptosis,to summarize the research progress of TCM in treating NSCLC by regulating apoptosis, aiming to provide reference for clinical treatment for NSCLC.

Journal of Environmental and Occupational Medicine 2025;42(6):756-761
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) are common organic compounds in indoor and outdoor air, and enter the human body primarily through the respiratory tract and directly damage the respiratory system. Previous studies have suggested that exposure to VOCs/SVOCs may associate with the prevalence, incidence, and progression of asthma, but the extent of the associations is still vague. Furthermore, biomarkers for efficient and simple asthma diagnosis, typing, and attack prediction remain unclear at this stage. From the perspective of the collection and detection methods of VOCs/SVOCs, this paper summarized the epidemiological associations and underlying biological mechanisms between VOCs/SVOCs exposure and the prevalence, incidence, and progression of asthma in children/adults. It also demonstrated the application of VOCs/SVOCs in recent years in assisting asthma diagnosis, such as distinguishing asthma patients from the healthy population, differentiating different asthma phenotypes, and predicting asthma acute exacerbations, aiming to provide a scientific basis for improving current asthma management.
