Lipid metabolism reprogramming is a metabolic hallmark of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) initiation and progression. It encompasses aberrant activation of de novo lipogenesis (DNL), remodeling of the membrane phospholipid polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA)/monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) ratio, upregulation of the mevalonate (MVA) pathway, and compensatory activation of subcellular antioxidant networks. Together with liver-specific dysregulation of iron homeostasis, these alterations shape a dual metabolic landscape in which ferroptosis susceptibility and resistance coexist, thereby driving malignant progression and therapeutic tolerance. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the core pathogenesis of HCC is conceptualized as the interplay of dampness, heat, stasis, toxin, and deficiency, which is intrinsically consistent at the biological level with the aforementioned lipid accumulation, redox imbalance, and disordered iron metabolism. According to the three therapeutic principles of clearing heat, detoxifying, and resolving dampness, activating blood to dispel stasis and counteract toxins, and reinforcing healthy Qi to consolidate the root, this review systematically delineates the molecular mechanisms by which the active components of traditional Chinese medicine modulate the lipid-ferroptosis network. Active components including berberine, tanshinone ⅡA, and ginsenosides cooperatively induce ferroptosis in HCC by disrupting the cystine/glutamate antiporter-glutathione-glutathione peroxidase 4 (System Xc-/GSH/GPX4) antioxidant axis, upregulating long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 4 (ACSL4) to promote PUFA-containing membrane lipid peroxidation, perturbing nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (NRF2/KEAP1) and protein kinase R-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase/activating transcription factor 4 (PERK/ATF4) signaling pathways, and disrupting ferritin homeostasis. On this basis, the review evaluates the translational prospects of these components in reversing tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) resistance, sensitizing immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy, and enabling nanocarrier-mediated delivery, with the aim of providing a pharmacological basis for the development of TCM candidate agents targeting the lipid-ferroptosis axis and for the optimization of therapeutic strategies integrating Chinese and Western medicine.

Foodborne disease is one of the most important public health issues worldwide. China faces various and unprecedented challenges in all aspects of the food chain. Data from laboratory-based foodborne disease surveillance systems from 2013 to 2016, as well as different regions and ages, can be found along with differences in the patterns of pathogens detected with diverse characteristics. Vibrio parahaemolyticus has been the leading cause of infectious diarrhea in China, especially among adults in coastal regions. Salmonella has been a serious and widely distributed pathogen responsible for substantial socioeconomic burden. Shigella was mostly identified in Northwest China and the inland province (Henan) with less-developed regions among children under 5 years. Data from foodborne disease outbreak reporting system from 2011 to 2016 showed that poisonous animals and plant factors responsible for most deaths were poisonous mushrooms (54.7%) in remote districts in southwest regions. The biological hazard that caused most cases reported (42.3%) was attributed to V. parahaemolyticus, the leading cause of foodborne outbreaks. In this review, we summarize the recent monitoring approach to foodborne diseases in China and compare the results with those in developed countries.

Objective To establish a method of inducing dendritic cells(DC)from rat bone marrow cells in vitro, and identify the phenotype and function characteristics. Methods The rat bone malToW cells were collected and cultured in vitro under the condition of recombinant rat GM-CSF(rrGM-CSF)and recombinant rat IL-4(rrIL-4).After 2 weeks, the morphological character of DCs was observed under light microscope and scanning electron microscope.Expression of MHC-Ⅱ,CD80 and CD86 were detected by flow cytometry. The ability to stimulate allogenic T cells of the cultured DCs was detected by mixed lymphocyte reaction. Results DCs showed typical morphology with elongated dendritic processes under inversion microscope and scanning electron microscope.DCs at day 6 revealed immature phenotype, including MHC-Ⅱ(29.03 ±4.39)%,CD80(21.98±7.08)%and CD86(25.94±6.80)%.DCs at day 12 showed higher expression of MHC-Ⅱ(74.05±5.97)%,CD80(79.85±6.53)%and CD86(81.00±7.47)%,and stimulatory capacity of allogenic T cells, compared with that in DCs at day 6.Conclusion Matured DCs could be generated from rat bone marrow cells and attendance with rrGM-CSF and rrIL-4,which present the feasibility for further research on its application to allograft immunorejection.

Aim To investigate the effect of matrine on cytoskeletonof K562 cells. Methods Micropipette aspiration technique was adoptedto investigate the viscoelasticity of K562 cells, while the different ex-pression of cytoskeletal protein gene was analyzed by DNA microar-ray. Results In matrine-treated K562 cells, the viscoelastic propertiesKI, K2 and were decreased significantly from 726 ± 215 to 432 ±67,433 ±119 to 242±31, 72±38 to 50±15 respectively, and the geneexpression of prefoldin and ezrin was much stronger than that of controlcells. Conclusion The strueture and function can be changed in ma-trine-treated K562 cells.
