Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics and survival prognosis of patients with AIDS-related malignant tumor. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the data of 354 patients with AIDS-related malignant tumor. Univariate analysis was conducted by Log rank test and multivariate analysis was conducted by Cox proportional risk regression model. Results The average age of the patients was 54.10±12.96 years old. The ratio of male to female patients was 2.1:1. The number of patients with AIDS complicated with lymphoma was the most, accounting for 28.25%. The 1-, 3- and 5-year survival rates were 78.48%, 62.13% and 55.31%, respectively. Univariate analysis showed that there were statistical differences in prognosis of patients with different types of malignant tumor, age, gender, medical insurance type, number of admissions after diagnosis of AIDS, average length of stay, radiotherapy or not, leaving hospital according to medical advice. Multivariate analysis showed that gender, number of admissions after diagnosis of AIDS, average length of stay, proportion of out-of-pocket and leaving hospital according to medical advice were independent risk factors affecting the survival and prognosis of patients. Conclusion AIDS is easily complicated with lymphoma, lung cancer and cervical cancer. The patients received insufficient anti-tumor courses in hospital.

Objective:To investigate the risk factors of acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with severe drug eruption. Methods:Clinical data including basic information (gender, age, body mass index), type of severe drug eruption, allergenic drugs, co-existing diseases, first laboratory findings after admission, renal function during hospitalization, etc. in patients with severe drug eruption admitted to Department of Dermatology, Guangdong Provincial People′s Hospital from January 2014 to December 2020 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Patients were divided into AKI group and non-AKI group and the clinical data were compared between the 2 groups. The risk factors of AKI in patients with severe drug eruption were analyzed by a binary logistic regression model and the odds ratio ( OR) and its 95% confidence interval ( CI) were calculated. Results:A total of 91 patients were enrolled in the study, including 50 males and 41 females, aged 54 (40, 65) years with a range of 9-85 years. The drugs that induced severe drug eruptions were allopurinol in 48 patients, antiepileptic drugs in 23 patients, antibacterial drugs in 6 patients, and other drugs in 14 patients. There were 21 patients (AKI incidence: 23.1%) in the AKI group and 70 patients in the non-AKI group. The proportion of patients sensitized to antiepileptic drugs, baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate, levels of serum albumin and hemoglobin in the AKI group were lower than those in the non-AKI group [0 (0/21) vs. 32.9% (23/70), (70±12) ml/(min·1.73 m 2) vs. (103±6) ml/(min·1.73 m 2), 26(23, 30) g/L vs. 36(34, 38) g/L, (116±17) g/L vs. (129±15) g/L], the proportions of patients sensitized to allopurinol, with diabetes mellitus, and with chronic kidney diseases, baseline serum urea nitrogen level, serum creatinine level, and proportion of urinary albumin positive patients were all higher than those in the non-AKI group [81.0%(17/21) vs. 44.3%(31/70), 28.6%(6/21) vs. 7.1%(5/70), 28.6%(6/21) vs. 5.7%(4/70), 7.2 (4.6, 12.2) mmol/L vs. 5.0 (3.8, 6.4) mmol/L, 103 (63, 134) μmol/L vs. 67 (56, 79) μmol/L, 47.6%(10/21) vs. 17.1%(12/70)], and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that allopurinol sensitization ( OR=6.588, 95 %CI: 1.006-43.123, P=0.049) was the independent risk factor for AKI in patients with severe drug eruption and serum albumin ( OR=0.595, 95 %CI: 0.471-0.752, P<0.001) was a protective factor. Conclusions:Allopurinol sensitization was the independent risk factor for AKI in patients with severe drug eruption. Patients with low serum albumin were more likely to develop AKI.

Objective:
To study the dosage regimen of oral M-receptor blocker following transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for severe benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) with predominant urine storage period symptoms (USPSs) and its clinical effect.
METHODS:
Severe BPH patients with predominant USPSs received oral tolterodine (2 mg q12d or 4 mg qd) 6 hours after TURP for 4 weeks. The medication continued for another 2 weeks in case of recurrence of USPSs or until the 12th week in case of repeated recurrence. Before and at 1, 4, 8 and 12 weeks after TURP, we analyzed the International Prostate Symptoms Score (IPSS), quality of life (QoL) score, maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), and postvoid residual volume (PVR) of the patients.
RESULTS:
Complete clinical data were collected from 106 cases, of which 33 achieved successful drug withdrawal with no aggravation of USPSs at 4 weeks after TURP, 51 at 6-8 weeks, 13 at 10-12 weeks, and 9 needed medication after 12 weeks. Before and at 1, 4, 8 and 12 weeks after TURP, the total IPSSs were 25.33 ± 3.45, 19.33 ± 3.62, 11.56 ± 2.45, 8.38 ± 2.0 and 7.74 ± 1.87, those in the urine storage period were 11.97 ± 1.53, 10.76 ± 1.82, 6.16 ± 1.22, 4.08 ± 1.19 and 3.91 ± 1.15, those at urine voiding were 9.80 ± 1.60, 5.59 ± 1.45, 3.40 ± 0.92, 2.85 ± 0.71, and 2.61 ± 0.67, and the QoL scores were 4.70 ± 0.78, 3.92 ± 0.75, 2.55 ± 0.74, 1.83 ± 0.72 and 1.66 ± 0.75, respectively, with statistically significant differences between the baseline and the scores at 1 and 4 weeks (P <0.01) but not at 8 or 12 weeks (P >0.05). Qmax and PVR were improved progressively and significantly at 1 and 4 weeks (P <0.01) but not at 8 or 12 weeks (P >0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
Four to eight weeks of oral administration of M-receptor blocker may be an effective dosage regimen for severe BPH with predominant USPSs after TURP.
