With the increase of the incidence rate of infertility, assisted reproductive technology (ART) has gradually become the main or even the only treatment for infertile people. A large amount of evidence showed that perinatal outcomes of ART offspring are different from those of naturally conceived offspring, such as the increased risk of low birth weight and long-term metabolic abnormalities. However, beside of ART, infertility and the fetus factor also play a role in the poor pregnancy outcome. Since birth weight plays an important role in the long-term health of newborns, this article reviewed the factors and related mechanisms that may affect the birth weight of offspring conceived by ART, so as to contribute improving the pregnancy outcome.

Human microbiome is comprised of symbiotic microorganisms in the human body, whose dynamic balance is closely related to human health, and is recognized as important "organs" that can regulate immunity, metabolism and other aspects in human body, and is associated with functions of many organs including lung, intestine, vagina and brain, becoming a potential target for the treatment of cancer, coronary heart disease, neurological diseases and other difficult diseases. In recent years, with the rapid development of microbiome sequencing and analysis technology, it has become an international focus and forefront to discover the relationship between human microorganisms and many diseases, as well as target for new treatment methods. Thus, we organized this special issue and publish reviews on study methodology, human disease and microbiome as well as therapeutic strategies, and provide important information to advance microbiome research in China.

Objective:To measure the salary satisfaction level of medical staff in county-level public hospitals and provide reference for the design of policy reforms. Method:Eight county-level public hospitals were investigated. All analyses were performed using SPSS 19. 0 via statistical description and binary logistic regression. Results: The total salary satisfaction of the medical staff was 48 . 8%, and the average score was 54 . 05 ± 18 . 04 . The welfare satis-faction is the lowest (38. 8%), and the average score is 7. 98 ± 3. 51. Logistic regression analysis shows that the ac-ademic degree, department category, working hours per week, acceptance of bribes, and officially budgeted posts are the main factors affecting overall compensation satisfaction. Conclusion:The overall salary satisfaction level of medi-cal staff in county-level public hospitals is very low, and the welfare satisfaction is the lowest. Establishing the rea-sonable level of compensation, the rise of compensation, and the welfare mechanism are feasible choices to improve salary satisfaction.
