Objective To investigate the current distribution of radiotherapy resources in Gansu Province, evaluate the equity of resource allocation, and provide a scientific basis for optimizing regional resource allocation. Methods A questionnaire survey was carried out to assess radiotherapy resources in medical institutions across Gansu Province, China. The equity of radiotherapy resource distribution and associated disparities were assessed using the Gini coefficient, Lorenz curve, and Theil index. Results A total of 23 medical institutions in Gansu Province provided radiotherapy services, comprising 39 radiotherapy devices and 438 professionals, of whom medical physicists accounted for 16.9%. The radiotherapy frequency was 0.47 cases per thousand population. The Gini coefficients for radiotherapy resource distribution ranged from 0.38 to 0.56 by population and from 0.52 to 0.70 by geography. The Theil index for radiotherapy resources ranged from 1.36 to 3.67. Conclusion Radiotherapy resources in Gansu Province were insufficient, and the capacity of radiotherapy service was suboptimal. The equity of radiotherapy resource allocation by geography was worse than that by population. Therefore, it is imperative to address the shortage of radiotherapy resources, strengthen the professional workforce, enhance the capacity radiotherapy service and resource utilization, optimize resource allocation, and promote regional equity in radiotherapy provision in Gansu Province.

Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2026;34(7):657-667
Objective:
To investigate the effect of specific deletion of SET-domain-containing 2 (Setd2) in dental germ mesenchymal cells on early tooth development and provide a research basis for exploring the etiology of dental developmental disorders.
Methods:
This study was approved by the Animal Care and Ethical Committee of Wuhan University. Wnt1Cre mice with a C57BL/6J background were crossed with Setd2flox/flox mice to generate the Setd2 knockout experimental group (Wnt1Cre; Setd2flox/flox) and the control group (Setd2flox/flox). Tail tissues of mouse embryos were collected at embryonic day (E) 13.5, E15.5, and E18.5 for polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based genotyping, and embryonic heads were collected for paraffin sectioning to observe the development of the first mandibular molar germs. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining was performed to verify the specific knockout of Setd2 in dental germ mesenchymal cells; hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining and subrenal culture were used to evaluate the effect of Setd2 knockout in dental germ mesenchymal cells on tooth development; Ki67 staining and a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay were employed to evaluate the effects of specific Setd2 knockout on the proliferation and apoptosis of dental germ mesenchymal cells; immunofluorescence (IF) staining was conducted to observe the impact of Setd2 knockout on the trimethylation of lysine 36 on histone 3 (H3K36me3).
Results:
PCR-based genotyping showed that the experimental group presented a single band (266 bp) for the Setd2flox/flox homozygote and a characteristic band for Wnt1Cre, while the control group only showed a single band (266 bp) for the Setd2flox/flox homozygote. IHC staining confirmed the successful knockout of Setd2 in dental germ mesenchymal cells of the experimental group; HE staining and subrenal culture demonstrated that specific knockout of Setd2 in the experimental group led to reduced size of tooth germs and increased condensation of mesenchymal cells at E15.5 and E18.5 (E15.5, P < 0.05; E18.5, P < 0.01); Ki67 staining showed no statistically significant effect on the proportion of division of dental germ mesenchymal cells between the experimental and control groups at E13.5 and E15.5 (E13.5, P = 0.694; E15.5, P = 0.503); the TUNEL assay demonstrated increased apoptosis of dental germ mesenchymal cells in the experimental group at both E13.5 and E15.5 (P < 0.001); IF staining revealed the absence of H3K36me3 modification in the dental germ mesenchymal cells of the experimental group across E13.5, E15.5, and E18.5 (P < 0.000 1).
Conclusion
Specific knockout of Setd2 in dental germ mesenchymal cells leads to increased cell apoptosis by impairing H3K36me3 modification, resulting in early developmental defects in mouse teeth characterized by reduced tooth germ volume.

BACKGROUND:Anthocyanin is one of the most important active components in Lycium ruthenicum Murr, which has antioxidant and immunomodulatory effects.CD146+human adipose-derived pericytes/perivascular cells(CD146+hAD-PCs)are the progenitors of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, which can promote the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells in vitro. The support effect of anthocyanin in combination with CD146+hAD-PCs on umbilical cord blood hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells remains to be studied. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the supporting effect of anthocyanins in Lycium ruthenicum Murr(ALRM)combined with CD146+hAD-PCs on umbilical cord blood CD34+hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells(UCB CD34+HSPCs)in vitro. METHODS:The CCK-8 assay was used to detect the effect of different concentrations(0,200,400,600,800,1 000 mg/L)of ALRM on the proliferation of CD146+hAD-PCs.Flow cytometry was used to detect the effect of ALRM on the cell cycle of CD146+hAD-PCs.The co-culture experiments were divided into blank group,ALRM group,CD146+hAD-PCs group, and ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group to analyze the in vitro supporting effect of ALRM combined with CD146+hAD-PCs on UCB CD34+HSPCs.The number of expanded cells and the number of colony-forming units were compared at 1,2,and 4 weeks of co-culture.The immunophenotype of cells was detected by flow cytometry. The level of cytokines was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The cell viability of CD146+hAD-PCs was highest at an ALRM concentration of 200 mg/L,the proportion of G0/G1 phase cells decreased and the proportion of S and G2/M phase cells increased in CD146+hAD-PCs(P<0.01).(2)The change in number of UCB CD34+HSPCs cells in the ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was higher than that in the ALRM group at 1,2,and 4 weeks of co-culture(all P<0.05),and higher than that in CD146+hAD-PCs group at 2 and 4 weeks of co-culture(all P<0.05).The number of cells in the ALRM group and blank group decreased gradually with the extension of co-culture time.(3)Colony forming capacity and immunophenotype analysis:The number of colony-forming units in the ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was higher than that in the CD146+hAD-PCs group and ALRM group at 1 and 2 weeks of co-culture(P<0.05).The proportion of CD45+and CD34+CD33-cells in the ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was higher than that in the CD146+hAD-PCs group at 1 and 2 weeks of co-culture(all P<0.01).(4)Changes in cytokines:Interleukin-2 level in the ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was higher than that in the ALRM and CD146+hAD-PCs groups(P<0.05).The interleukin-3 content of the ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was higher than that of the CD146+hAD-PCs group at 2 and 4 weeks(P<0.05).The expression level of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor in the ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was higher than that in the CD146+hAD-PCs group at 1 week, and higher than that in the ALRM group and CD146+hAD-PCs group at 2 weeks(P<0.01).Interferon-γ content in the ALRM group and ALRM+CD146+hAD-PCs group was lower than that in the CD146+hAD-PCs group at 1,2,and 4 weeks of co-culture(P<0.01).(5)Due to the absence of stromal cells in the blank group,UCB CD34+HSPCs could not be counted after 1 week of co-culture and were not subjected to immunophenotyping, colony analysis,or cytokine assays.(6)In summary,ALRM can promote the expansion of UCB CD34+HSPCs in vitro by promoting CD146+hAD-PCs proliferation and cell cycle transformation, which is of great value in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Objective:To assess iodine nutritional status and the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in Kunming, Yunnan Province, along with correlation and risk factors between thyroid dysfunction and urinary iodine levels. Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2014 to July 2016 using a multi-stage, stratified cluster sampling method. A total of 2 650 residents of Kunming, Yunnan Province, who met the inclusion criteria were selected. Data on participants′ demographics, physical measurements, and laboratory tests were collected through questionnaire and clinical assessments which led to 1 463 subjects in the final analysis considering missing data. Statistical analysis were performed using SPSS 26.0, while R Studio was used to model the nonlinear relationship between urinary iodine levels and the risk of thyroid dysfunction.Results:(1) Among 2 650 subjects, 755(28.5%) were diagnosed with thyroid dysfunction, with incidence rates of clinical hyperthyroidism(0.83%), subclinical hyperthyroidism(0.38%), clinical hypothyroidism(1.36%), subclinical hypothyroidism(17.66%), and isolated thyroid antibody positive(13.85%). The median urinary iodine concentration was 177.49(123.59, 251.85) μg/L, indicating adequate iodine nutritional. (2)Among the 1 463 subjects analyzed, significant differences in urinary iodine were found between healthy individual group and abnormal TSH group or abnormal TSH group and thyroid antibody positive group( H=-83.437, P=0.003; H=107.489, P=0.003). Logistic regression revealed that rural residents had a lower risk of thyroid dysfunction than urban residents( OR=0.429, 95% CI 0.256-0.717, P=0.001). Risk of thyroid disease increased with age, and TSH, thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb), thyroglobulin antibody(TgAb), and urinary iodine levels were identified as significant risk factors, with a U-shaped relationship between urinary iodine levels and thyroid dysfunction. Conclusions:The prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in Kunming is comparable to the national average. The relationship between urinary iodine concentration and thyroid dysfunction follows a U-shaped curve. Factors including region, age, TSH, TPOAb, TgAb, and urinary iodine concentration are associated with thyroid dysfunction.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2025;41(3):231-239
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of local injection of triamcinolone acetonide acetate combined with ultra-pulsed CO 2 fractional laser in the treatment of hypertrophic scars in children. Methods:A randomized controlled study method was used. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the subjects were selected from children with hypertrophic scars admitted to the Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University from January 2022 to September 2023, and were divided into control group and experimental group using random number table method. The control group was treated with ultra-pulsed CO 2 fractional laser. The experimental group was injected with triamcinolone acetonide acetate injection at multiple points into the scar (the ratio of triamcinolone acetonide acetate injection to 2% lidocoin hydrochloride injection was 1∶1), with a distance between the points as 1 cm, and the injection dose was about 0.1 to 0.2 ml/cm 2 according to the degree of scar protrusion. The maximum dose each time was ≤40 mg. CO 2 fractional laser treatment was performed after 10 minutes of cold compress with ice bag. Scars in both groups were treated 3 times, with an interval of 2 to 3 months. Before the treatment and 6 months after the last treatment, the Vancouver scar scale (VSS) was performed on both groups of scars score, the total score was 0 - 15. The higher the score, the more serious the scar hyperplasia was. Six months after the last treatment, the scar treatment effects of the two groups were comprehensively evaluated and divided into 3 levels: markedly effective, effective and ineffective. The total effective rate =(markedly effective + effective) number of cases/total number of cases ×100%. Patient satisfaction was investigated 6 months after the last treatment and divided into 5 levels: very satisfied, satisfied, average, dissatisfied, and very dissatisfied. Satisfaction rate =(very satisfied + satisfied) number of cases/total number of cases ×100%. The occurrence of adverse reactions was recorded throughout the treatment process. Analysis was performed using SPSS 19.0 software. Measurement data were expressed as Mean±SD, inter-group comparisons were performed using independent samples t-test, intra-group comparisons were performed using paired t-test, counting data were expressed as examples and percentages, and comparisons between the two groups were performed using χ2 test. P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant. Results:A total of 82 children with hypertrophic scars were included, 33 males and 49 females, aged 1 to 15 years old, with an area of 5 to 45 cm 2. The pathogenic factors were trauma, burns, and surgery. The course of disease was 2 to 30 months. Among them, 41 patients in the control group, 16 males and 25 females; the age was (5.8±1.6) years; 41 patients in the experimental group, 17 males and 24 females, the age was (5.6±1.5) years. There were no significant differences in age, gender, scar area, pathogenic factors and course of disease between the two groups ( P>0.05). There was no significant difference in VSS scores between the experimental group and the control group before the treatment [(9.42±1.35) points vs. (9.06±1.57) points, P>0.05]. Six months after the last treatment, there was a significant difference in VSS scores between the experimental group and the control group [(4.12±0.56) points vs. (5.50±0.75) points, P<0.01]. The VSS scores of children in both groups were significantly lower than those before the treatment ( P<0.01). Six months after the last treatment, the comprehensive evaluation result showed that the total effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group [92.7%(38/41) vs. 75.6%(31/41), P<0.05]. Six months after the last treatment, the patient satisfaction survey showed that the satisfaction rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group [87.8%(36/41) vs. 58.5%(24/41), P<0.01]. The main adverse reactions during treatment included edema erythema, skin ruptures, skin atrophy, and vigorous hair growth. There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the experimental group and the control group [12.2%(5/41) vs. 7.3%(3/41), P>0.05]. Conclusion:Local injection of triamcinolone acetonide acetate combined with ultra-pulsed CO 2 fractional laser is more effective in treating children’s hypertrophic scars. It can significantly improve the appearance of scars, reduce clinical symptoms, with fewer adverse reactions, and high patient satisfaction.
