Functional constipation（FC）is a common functional digestive system disease in children，accounting for more than 90% of children's constipation.In addition to the labor of defecation，FC can also occure a series of functional indigestion symptoms such as abdominal pain，abdominal distension，acid retrope，anorexia and can even cause secondary pathological changes in the whole body and intestines.Because of the complex pathogenesis and difficult management of FC,early diagnosis,differential diagnosis,simple and efficient auxiliary examination and safe and effective treatment scheme of FC in children are the focus of current research.This review summarized the research progress in the diagnosis and treatment of FC in children,in order to provide the diagnosis and treatment ideas for pediatricians.
