Objective To analyze the characteristics of viral hepatitis mortality and life loss among residents in Pudong New Area from 2003 to 2023, and to provide a basis for related prevention and control work. Methods Viral hepatitis mortality data were obtained from the Pudong New Area mortality monitoring system. The crude mortality rate (CMR), standardized mortality rate (SMR), potential years of life lost (PYLL), average years of life lost (AYLL), and standardized potential years of life lost (SPYLL) were calculated to analyze viral hepatitis deaths. The average annual change (AAPC) and annual percentage change (APC) of the mortality rate were calculated by Joinpoint regression analysis to analyze the trend of mortality. Results The CMR and SMR of viral hepatitis among residents in Pudong New Area from 2003 to 2023 were 3.89/100000 and 1.98/100000, respectively. Both CMR and SMR of viral hepatitis showed a decreasing trend over time (CMR:APC=-5.476, t=-13.581, P<0.001; SMR:APC=- 7.624, t= -21.253, P<0.001). The CMR for males was 4.75/100000 and the SMR for males was 2.65/100000; the CMR for females was 3.04/100000 and the SMR for females was 1.32/100000, with a higher mortality rate for males than for females(ZCME=12.094,P<0.001; ZSMR=-14.718,P<0.001). Deaths were concentrated in the age groups of 45-64 years old and 65 years old and above, accounting for 91.62% of the total deaths. The PYLL of deaths due to viral hepatitis among residents in Pudong New Area from 2003 to 2023 was 26912 person-years, with a PYLLR of 0.45% and an AYLL of 8.88 years per person. Conclusion The mortality rate of viral hepatitis among the residents of Pudong New Area in 2003-2023 shows a decreasing trend over time. The mortality rate of males is higher than that of females, and the deaths of middle-aged and elderly people account for a large proportion of the total deaths. Chronic hepatitis B is the main cause of death.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(3):365-368
Objective:
To revise and validate the reliability and validity of Chinese version of the Benevolent Childhood Experiences (BCEs) Scale among college students, so as to provide a scientific and reliable assessment tool for related research.
Methods:
From April to June 2025, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 1 677 freshmen from a university in Xuzhou City as participants. The survey was conducted by using the revised Benevolent Childhood Experiences (BCEs) Scale, Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) and Brief Suicidal Behavior Scale. Reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Spearman correlation analysis, and hierarchical linear regression analysis were employed to evaluate the scale s reliability, validity, and relationships among variables.
Results:
The mean scores of the 10 items on the BCEs Scale ranged from 3.97 to 4.46, with standard deviations ranging from 0.88 to 1.07. The Cronbach α coefficient was 0.96. Exploratory factor analysis extracted a single factor, explaining 71.21% of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated good model fit ( χ 2/df =4.81, goodness of fit index=0.99, comparative fit index=0.99, normed fit index=0.99, root mean square error of approximation=0.05, standardized root mean square residual=0.01). BCEs total scores were negatively correlated with CTQ total scores and all its dimensions among college students ( r =-0.53 to -0.13, all P < 0.01). Hierarchical regression analysis showed that BCEs moderated the effect of CTQ on suicidal behavior, with a statistically significant interaction ( β=-0.11, t=-4.01, P <0.01).
Conclusion
The Chinese revised version of the BCEs Scale demonstrates good reliability and validity, and it is suitable for assessing BCEs among Chinese college students.

Digital Chinese Medicine 2026;9(2):278-289
Objective:
This study proposes a clustering framework for Chinese materia medica (CMM) based on a large language model (LLM), aiming to explore potential compatibility patterns among CMMs from the semantic perspective of CMM property theory.
Methods:
First, a CMM property knowledge base was constructed based on Chinese Materia Medica, including 567 commonly used CMMs characterized by four properties, five flavors, and meridian tropism. Then, 49 CMMs derived from 10 prescriptions for Zangdu (脏毒, pathogenic toxins) recorded in Waike Zhengzong (《外科正宗》, Orthodox Manual of External Medicine) and Yangke Xinde Ji (《疡科心得集》, Collected Insights on Ulcer Medicine) were selected as the experimental dataset. Five semantic representation methods—One-Hot, Word2Vec, Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence General Embedding (BGE), and Qwen—were applied to encode CMM property information into vector representations. Subsequently, t-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (t-SNE) was used for nonlinear dimensionality reduction on high-dimensional semantic vectors, followed by k-means clustering (k = 7). Clustering performance was evaluated using the Silhouette Score (SS), Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI), and Calinski-Harabasz Index (CHI).
Results:
The Qwen-based clustering method, CMM-EmbedCluster, achieved the highest SS (0.607 4) and CHI (158.057 2), as well as the lowest DBI (0.499 5), indicating improved cluster separation and compactness compared with other methods. Visualization of CMM clustering results showed that the clusters were well separated in the low-dimensional space, with strong inter-cluster discrimination and high intra-cluster functional consistency. Further interpretability analysis of CMM clustering results revealed stable structural differences among clusters in terms of four properties, five flavors, and meridian tropism, forming functional partitions consistent with CMM property theory.
Conclusion
CMM-EmbedCluster utilizes an LLM to achieve semantic-level representation and clustering of CMMs within the framework of CMM property theory, providing support for exploring potential compatibility patterns among CMMs from the perspective of CMM property semantics.

Objective:To investigate the reliability and accuracy of a semi-quantitative evaluation method for assessing the severity of pharyngeal delay by fiberoptic laryngoscopy.Method:Fifty-seven fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing(FEES)videos and the corresponding 57 video fluoroscopic swallowing study(VFSS)videos were reviewed and analyzed independently by two investi-gators.The semiquantitative evaluation method of pharyngeal delay in the expert consensus on assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders in China(2017 version)was used to rate fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing videos. The pharyngeal delay time(PDT)was calculated by the corresponding video fluoroscop-ic swallowing study videos. The intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC)was used as an indicator to verify the consistency of the retention position of the bolus on set of swallowing in VFSS and FEES.The Kruskal-Wal-lis H test was used to compare the difference in PDT between the different classes.Spearman's rank correla-tion analysis was used to test the correlation between the retention position of bolus on set of swallowing and aspiration under VFSS and FEES.The correlation was statistically significant at P<0.05.Result:The consistency index ICC for determining retention position of bolus on set of swallowing in VFSS and FEES was 0.707(P<0.001)indicating moderate agreement. Therefore, the PDT measured by VFSS corre-sponding to different grades of pharyngeal delay in FEES could be compared between groups. The results showed that:between normal and mild groups(P=0.003),between normal and moderate groups(P<0.0001),and between the normal and severe groups(P<0.0001).However,there were no significant differences be-tween the mild and moderate groups(P=1.000),the mild and severe groups(P=0.141),and the moderate and severe groups(P=1.000).The correlation between retention position of bolus on set of swallowing and as-piration was not significant(P=0.642 under VFSS and P=0.920 under FEES).Conclusion:The semi-quantitative evaluation scale of pharyngeal delay under FEES has limited ability to re-flect the severity of swallowing delay, and the degree of differentiation between grades is low, only distin-guishing the normal group from the abnormal group. Thus,it is recommended that this evaluation scale be ad-justed to three levels:normal level:the head of the bolus reaches the root of the tongue and swallowing is initiated;abnormal level:the bolus reaches a site below the tongue base and lingers for a certain period of time before swallowing is initiated. No swallowing level:the bolus lingered anywhere below the tongue base and no swallowing initiation was observed.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the correlation between phase angle and sarcopenia and its diagnostic indexes.METHODS:The PubMed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang Data,VIP and SinoMed databases were electronically searched to collect studies on the correlation between phase angle and sarcopenia and its diagnostic indexes from database inception to May 8,2024. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of the included studies. Meta-analysis was then performed using RevMan 5.3 and Stata 14.0 software. RESULTS:A total of 50 eligible articles were included. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the non-sarcopenic population, the phase angle was significantly reduced in sarcopenic patients[standardized mean difference (SMD)=-0.99,95% confidence interval (CI) (-1.09,-0.90),P<0.00001]. The results of subgroup analysis indicated that the difference of phase angle was more significant in patients with severe sarcopenia and Asian sarcopenia. Moreover, reduction in the phase angle was more obvious in patients with malignant tumors and respiratory diseases with sarcopenia. And skeletal muscle mass index (Pearson's r=0.565,P<0.00001),grip strength (Pearson's r=0.446,P<0.00001),and gait speed (Pearson's r=0.405,P<0.00001) all showed a moderate positive correlation with phase angle. However, appendicular skeletal muscle mass index showed a very weak positive correlation with phase angle (Pearson's r=0.139,P=0.02). CONCLUSION:Phase angle has a significant difference between sarcopenia and non-sarcopenia population, and it is correlated with the diagnostic indexes of sarcopenia to different extents. It suggests that phase angle has some clinical values in the objective diagnosis of sarcopenia. However, the results may be influenced by some factors such as sarcopenia severity and detection instruments of phase angle. Due to the limited quality and quantity of the included studies, more high-quality studies are needed to verify the above conclusion.
