BackgroundIt has been shown that academic procrastination, cognitive emotion regulation strategies, anxiety and mobile phone dependence are closely related, but the detailed mechanism by which academic procrastination contributes to mobile phone dependence remains largely unclear and mediation analysis is currently lacking. ObjectiveTo explore the mediation role of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and anxiety in the relationship between academic procrastination and mobile phone dependence among college students, so as to provide references for the prevention and intervention of college students' mobile phone dependence. MethodsIn March 2023, 474 students from Xinjiang Normal University were selected by random sampling technique, and Mobile Phone Addiction Index (MPAI), Procrastination Assessment Scale-Students (PASS), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Chinese version (CERQ-C) were used to conduct the survey. Pearson correlation analysis was adopted to examine the correlation among all variables, and Process 3.5 macro program was utilized to determine the mediation effect of cognitive emotion regulation strategies and anxiety on the relationship between academic procrastination and mobile phone dependence among college students. Results①PASS scores were positively correlated with the scores on CERQ-C negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy, BAI and MPAI (r=0.374, 0.229, 0.661, P<0.01), CERQ-C negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy scores were positively correlated with BAI and MPAI scores (r=0.372, 0.498, P<0.01), and BAI scores were positively correlated with MPAI scores (r=0.340, P<0.01). ② Both negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy and anxiety exerted an mediation effect on the relationship between academic procrastination and mobile phone dependence among college students, with an effect value of 0.094 (95% CI: 0.056~0.137) and 0.013 (95% CI: 0.001~0.029), and a chained mediation effect of negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy and anxiety on the relationship between academic procrastination and mobile phone dependence among college students was also documented, with an effect value of 0.015 (95% CI: 0.006~0.026). ConclusionAcademic procrastination is proved to be effective in predicting college students' mobile phone dependence both directly and indirectly through either separate or chained mediation of negative cognitive emotion regulation strategy and anxiety. ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Ruyi Zhenbaowan(RYZBW)in the treatment of initial and early knee osteoarthritis (KOA) through a prospective multicenter,randomized,double-blind,and placebo-parallel controlled trial. MethodFrom October 13th, 2021 to December 25th, 2021, 240 KOA subjects meeting the acceptance criteria were enrolled in 15 sub-centers including Wangjing Hospital, Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and they were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 120 cases in each group. The intervention measures for the observation group were RYZBW + health education, and the intervention measures for the control group were RYZBW placebo + health education. The intervention period in both groups was four weeks, and they were followed up for four weeks after the intervention. The primary outcome measure was the total score of Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index score (WOMAC score), and the secondary outcome measures were the response rate of visual scale (VAS) pain score, WOMAC sub item scores (joint pain, joint stiffness, and joint function), quality of life (SF-12) score, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score. Result(1) Efficacy evaluation. The marginal model results showed that the observation group was better than the control group in improving the WOMAC total score and WOMAC pain score in the treatment of KOA with RYZBW, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in improving VAS score response rate, WOMAC function score, WOMAC stiffness score, SF12-PCS (quality of life-physical health) score, SF12-MCS (quality of life-mental health) score, and TCM syndrome score. (2) Subgroup analysis. ① In terms of VAS score response rate, the response rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group for subjects with baseline VAS score of (4, 5], and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). ② In terms of TCM syndrome score, for subjects aged [56, 60] and [61, 65], the decrease in total TCM syndrome score in the observation group was better than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). ConclusionTibetan medicine RYZBW has good clinical efficacy in improving WOMAC total score, VAS score response rate, WOMAC pain score, WOMAC function score, and TCM syndrome score for patients with initial and early KOA, which can fill the lack of Tibetan medicine RYZBW in the treatment of KOA and make a demonstration study for the inheritance and development of ethnic medicine.

Osteoporosis can be induced by various factors including prolonged glucocorticoid usage, diminished estrogen levels, secondary hyperparathyroidism, and alterations in the microenvironment of bone tissue. The bone metabolism imbalance(osteogenic-lipogenic imbalance) plays a crucial role in the development of osteoporosis. This imbalance is primarily driven by an increase in the differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells into adipocytes and a decrease in their differentiation into osteoblasts, thus forming the core of the osteogenic-lipogenic imbalance observed in osteoporosis. The bone morphogenesis protein(BMP) plays a crucial role in the regulation of the osteogenic-lipid balance in osteoporosis. This regulatory function is accomplished through both the Smad-dependent and Smad-independent pathways. This review centers on the Smad-dependent and Smad-independent pathways facilitated by BMP, offering a comprehensive overview of the potential mechanisms through which BMP-2, 4, 6, 7, and 9 contribute to the regulation of osteogenesis and lipid metabolism in osteoporosis via these pathways. In order to present novel insights for the identification of efficacious targets for clinical anti-osteoporosis medications.

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic performance of radiomics model based on contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in predicting pathological complete response(pCR) after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(nCRT) in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer(LARC).Methods:One hundred and six patients with LARC who underwent total mesorectal excision after nCRT between April 2018 and April 2023 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were retrospectively included, the patients were randomly divided into a training set of 63(14 pCR patients) and a validation set of 43(12 pCR patients) in a 6∶4 ratios. Radiomics features were extracted from the tumors′ region of interest of CEUS images based on PyRadiomics. Intra-class correlation coefficient(ICC), Mann-Whitney U test, and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO) algorithms were used to reduce features dimension. Finally, 7 radiomics features relevanted to pCR were selected to construct an ultrasomics model using elastic network regression, based on the R language. A combined model was constructed by jointing clinical feature. The performance of the models was assessed with the area under the ROC curve(AUC). Results:The AUC of the ultrasomics model and the combined model was 0.695(95% CI=0.532-0.859) and 0.726(95% CI=0.584-0.868) respectively in the training set. The AUC of the ultrasomics model and the combined model was 0.763(95% CI=0.625-0.902) and 0.790(95% CI=0.653-0.928) respectively in the validation set. Both univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses showed that CA199( P<0.05) and ultrasomics score( P<0.001) could be an independent predictor of pCR after nCRT in patients with LARC. Conclusions:The CEUS-based radiomics scores has certain predictive value for whether LARC patients achieve pCR after nCRT, and may provide a non-invasive imaging biomarker for predicting LARC patients achieve pCR after nCRT.

Objective:To assess the effectiveness and safety of beat chemotherapy in treating non-small cell lung cancer, and to investigate its anti-tumor molecular mechanism. Methods:In this study, we developed a subcutaneous tumor model of lung cancer in mice. The mice were subsequently divided into two groups: the beat chemotherapy group and the placebo group(negative control group).Throughout the treatment period, we monitored the changes in body weight and tumor size of the mice.At the conclusion of the treatment, we collected blood samples from the mice to conduct blood routine and biochemical examinations.Furthermore, we obtained tumor tissues from the mice to perform immunohistochemical staining and sequencing of the transcriptome. Results:The study found that beat chemotherapy could effectively delay the growth of lung cancer. The tumor tissues in the beat chemotherapy group were significantly smaller compared to the placebo group. The results of routine blood and blood biochemistry tests showed that the levels of red blood cells(RBCs), white blood cells(WBCs), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and blood creatinine(Scr)were similar between the placebo group and the beat chemotherapy group. The values for RBCs, WBCs, ALT, AST and Scr in the placebo group were(6.97 ± 0.41)× 10 12/L, (13.26 ± 0.29)× 10 9/L, (33.33 ± 2.51)U/L, (235.33 ± 57.62)U/L and(20.67 ± 2.08)μmol/L, respectively. The corresponding values in the beat chemotherapy group were(6.87 ± 0.66)× 10 12/L, (12.59 ± 2.27)× 10 9/L, (38.67 ± 3.79)U/L, (225.33 ± 6.81)U/L and(20.33 ± 3.79)μmol/L.Statistical analysis showed no significant differences between the two groups( t=0.509, 0.209, 2.032, 0.299, 0.134, P=0.638, 0.845, 0.112, 0.780, 0.900).Furthermore, there were no signs of inflammatory infiltration or pathological changes in the liver, kidney, spleen, and lung tissues of the mice.Transcriptome analysis identified 68 differentially expressed genes, which were mainly associated with signal transduction and immunity.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analysis revealed the involvement of several signaling pathways, including the transforming growth factor β(TGF-β)signaling pathway, the interleukin-17(IL-17)signaling pathway, and the tumor necrosis factor(TNF)signaling pathway. Conclusions:The use of chemotherapy has been proven to be safe and effective in treating non-small cell lung cancer. It primarily functions by regulating tumor growth through various signaling pathways, including the TGF-β signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway, and TNF.

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of breast squamous cell carcinoma and to analyze the relationship between its immune microenvironment tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and prognosis.Methods:Forty-four cases of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast diagnosed and treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University, Xi′an, China from January 2006 to July 2022 were selected. Their clinicopathological characteristics were analyzed. The cell composition of TILs was evaluated using immunohistochemistry (Mainly markers of B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes and plasma cells). The relationship between TILs and prognosis was also analyzed. Results:The 44 patients of breast squamous cell carcinoma were all female and all were invasive carcinoma. Eight cases (8/44, 18.2%) were squamous cell carcinoma, while 36 cases (36/44, 81.8%) were mixed squamous cell carcinoma. The mixed components included non-specific carcinoma and spindle cell metaplastic carcinoma (17 cases each). One case contained ductal carcinoma in situ of the breast and 1 case contained tubular carcinoma. The proportion of squamous cell carcinoma was 10% to 90%. The cases with pure squamous cell carcinoma often had a large cystic cavity, which was lined by atypical squamous epithelium, while infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma nests were seen in the breast tissue around the cystic cavity. Immunohistochemical staining showed that p63 and CK5/6 were expressed in the squamous cell carcinoma component, but ER, PR and HER2 were not, except for one case of HER2 1+. The positive rates of TRPS1 and PDL-1 were 76% and less than 1%, respectively. Fifteen cases were in the high TILs group (TILs≥30%) and 29 cases were in the low TILs group (TILs<30%). Twenty-three patients were followed up for 5 to 118 months. Among them, 12 died within 3 years and 9 were alive at the end of the follow up. There was no significant difference in TNM stage, TILs and prognosis between simple squamous cell carcinoma and mixed squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusions:Breast squamous cell carcinoma can be divided into simple squamous cell carcinoma and mixed squamous cell carcinoma. There are differences in gross findings and histology between the simple and mixed squamous cell carcinoma of the breast. Sufficient samples should be taken to avoid missing the diagnosis of a minor squamous component. The prognosis of patients with high TILs is significantly better than that of patients with low TILs. The expression rate of TRPS1 in primary squamous cell carcinoma of breast is high and helpful to the differential diagnosis from metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.

Objective:To investigate the status of vertebral compression fracture (VCF) in elderly patients with osteoporosis and analyze its influencing factors. Methods:A total of 222 elderly patients with osteoporosis admitted to Department of Spinal Surgery in Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University from March 2019 to March 2023 were selected as the research objects by the convenient sampling method, and clinical data of the patients were collected. Patients were divided into VCF group ( n=98) and non-VCF group ( n=124) based on whether or not VCF occurred. Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of VCF in elderly patients with osteoporosis. Results:The incidence of VCF in 222 elderly patients with osteoporosis was 44.1% (98/222). The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that a history of falls ( OR=2.968, 95% CI: 1.154-7.736, P=0.024), no history of osteoporosis drug treatment ( OR=4.707, 95% CI: 1.525-14.531, P=0.007), body mass index>24.0 kg/m 2 ( OR=4.586, 95% CI: 2.071-10.158, P<0.001), lower bone density T values ( OR=3.221, 95% CI: 2.194-4.731, P<0.001) and low albumin ( OR=0.828, 95% CI: 0.752-0.913, P<0.001) were risk factors for VCF in elderly patients with osteoporosis. Conclusions:The incidence of vertebral compression fracture is high in elderly patients with osteoporosis, among which a history of falls, no history of osteoporosis drug treatment, body mass index greater than 24 kg/m 2, lower bone density T-values and low albumin are the main influencing factors that affect the occurrence of vertebral compression fracture in elderly patients with osteoporosis. Clinical medical staff should pay attention to these risk factors, identify the risk of fractures in elderly patients early and take targeted intervention measures.
