Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV)usually evades the inhibitory effect of the innate immunity factor type Ⅰ interferon(Ⅰ-IFN)when it infects human cells and tissues. The virus then causes a series of serious symptoms, such as spasticity, neurodegenerative lesions, neuroinflammation, and even death.Generally,JEV escapes innate immunity by inhibiting IFN-α/β production and the interferon Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription signaling pathway.Because of this special immune escape mechanism, various mouse infection models have been constructed for the study of the pathogenesis of and therapeutic regimens for JEV infections. In this review, based on an exposition of the IFN immune escape mechanism of JEV,we systematically introduce the concept of JEV-infected mouse models and analyze the characteristics of these models and the degree to which they simulate human symptoms. The intention is to develop various new JEV-infected mouse models based on potential new research targets and provide novel ideas for animal models for JEV research.
2.Early identification of neurosyphilis with the main manifestation of mild cognitive impairment
Journal of Apoplexy and Nervous Diseases 2025;42(11):1038-1040
Neurosyphilis (NS) is a group of diseases with a series of nervous system symptoms when Treponema pallidum infects the central nervous system, with an unknown pathogenesis and significant heterogeneity in clinical manifestations. It is called the “universal imitator”, leading to a high misdiagnosis rate in clinical practice. Cognitive impairment is one of the most common clinical manifestations of NS, but delayed diagnosis may cause irreversible neuronal damage. Therefore, early identification of NS with the main manifestation of mild cognitive impairment is of great importance for achieving a good prognosis of patients. This article reports a case of NS with the main manifestation of mild cognitive impairment and reviews its clinical features, in order to improve the understanding of this disease among clinicians.

The 2022 Fudan university doctorate academic public health forum hosted by the graduate school of Fudan university, the graduate work department of the party committee of Fudan university, and the school of public health of Fudan university was successfully held on December 10, 2022 in the school of public health of Fudan university. In the early stage, a total of 53 manuscripts from nationwide universities and research institutes were received, and 10 were selected as excellent papers to participate in the forum report. More than 100 teachers and students attended the forum. Focusing on the theme of " Adhering to the original ambition of scientific research to serve the country and practicing the mission of public health youth", the major contents of the forums included excellent paper reports in the morning and round-table discussion in the afternoon. Experts and students conducted discussions and communications on prevention, control and management of public health emergencies. It is of great benefit for students to uphold the original intention, practice the mission and further improve public health research.
