ObjectiveTo explore the role of neuroimaging features monitored by functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) in postoperative delirium (POD) in elderly patients undergoing joint replacement during perioperative period, and to provide a basis for early clinical prediction. MethodsA total of 105 elderly patients who underwent joint replacement under general anesthesia were included. The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scale was used to evaluate the patient's cognition one day before the operation. Before the start of the surgery, fNIRS was used to monitor the changes of cerebral blood oxygen saturation when the patient performed the task state. The 3-minute delirium diagnostic scale (3D-CAM scale) was used to evaluate the occurrence of POD at 24, 48 and 72 h after operation. Brain network analysis was performed and Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between fNIRS monitoring data and POD in elderly patients undergoing joint replacement surgery during preoperative task state. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) was constructed to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy, and the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test was used to test the goodness of fit of the model. ResultsAmong 105 patients, 100 cases were effectively analyzed, of which 20 cases (20%) had POD. Brain network analysis showed that the r value of functional connectivity correlation coefficient in POD group (0.069±0.118) was lower than that in non-POD group (0.073±0.084). The low channel connectivity of right primary somatosensory cortex-right primary motor cortex (RS1-RM1) and left anterior pole-right Broca's triangle (LFP-RBA44) was an important factor affecting the occurrence of POD (P < 0.05). Based on this result, the area under the ROC curve was 0.797 and 0.784, respectively. The results of Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test showed that the model fitted well (all P>0.5). ConclusionThe neuroimaging features extracted from the cerebral oxygen saturation data monitored by fNIRS are significantly correlated with the risk of POD in elderly patients undergoing joint replacement during perioperative period. Among them, the low connectivity of preoperative RS1-RM1 and LFP-RBA44 brain network channels is an important influencing factor of POD occurrence. Predicting the occurrence of POD based on fNIRS is conducive to the early intervention and risk reduction of perioperative complications, improving medical quality and promoting precision medical practice.

Objective In this study, the gas exchange performance and impact patterns of microalgae culture based on hollow fiber membrane technology were investigated for the culture of space microalgae. Methods The effects of parameters and conditions such as gas flow rate, membrane area and liquid flow rate on the CO2 fixation efficiency and fixation rate of hollow fiber membrane modules were studied, and the gas exchange performance of different parameters were compared by fitting formula. Results The gas flow rate and membrane area have a significant effect on the gas exchange performance of the module. With the increase of gas flow rate, the fixation rate of CO2 increases at first and then stabilizes, and the fixation efficiency of CO2 shows a continuous downward trend;with the increase of membrane area, the fixation rate and fixation efficiency of CO2 increase significantly, while the liquid flow rate has no significant effect on the gas exchange performance of the module. The highest CO2 fixation rate was 168.24 mg/(L·h)when the membrane area was 0.3m2 and the gas flow rate was 2.0 L/min.Conclusion The use of hollow fiber membrane technology can solve the problem of two-phase flow management in the gas exchange between algae culture and atmosphere, which has a better effect on gas exchange, and can provide reference for the design of gas exchange module of space microalgae photobioreactor.

Objective In order to use plants to absorb high concentration carbon dioxide in closed space, the gas exchange capacity and regulation measures of six horticultural plants were explored. Methods The gas exchange characteristics of Bamboo Palm,Chrysanthemum,Peace Lily,Anthurium,Aloe vera, and Nephrolepis exaltata were studied under three light gradients[170 μmol/(m2·s),270 μmol/(m2·s),370 μmol/(m2·s)]and four carbon dioxide concentration gradients(500 ppm,1 000 ppm,1 500 ppm,2 000 ppm)using a closed low-pressure device. Results The results indicate significant differences in the average photosynthetic rates among the six plants, with the ranking order as Chrysanthemum>Peace Lily>Bamboo Palm>Aloe vera>Anthurium>Nephrolepis exaltata. In contrast, the transpiration rate and respiration rate of Chrysanthemum,Peace Lily and Bamoo Palm were higher, aloe vera absorbed carbon dioxide under dark conditions.Under a light intensity of 370 μmol/(m2·s),the photosynthetic rate of Bamboo Palm was most enhanced,2.57 times that under the condition of 170 μmol/(m2·s),whereas high light intensity suppressed the photosynthetic rate of Nephrolepis exaltata, which was about 3%lower than that under low light intensity.Under a carbon dioxide concentration of 2 000 ppm,the photosynthetic rates of Chrysanthemum,Peace Lily, and Bamboo Palm was more than 9.13 μmol CO2/(m2·s),approximately three times the average rate under low carbon dioxide concentration. Conclusion Among the six horticultural plants,Chrysanthemum,Bamboo Palm, and Peace Lily exhibit superior gas exchange capabilities, and increasing the light intensity and carbon dioxide concentration in the cultivation environment significantly enhances the photosynthetic rate of these three plants.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(4):413-418
Objective:
To investigate the trends in mortality and life lost due to cancer among residents in Ouhai District, Wenzhou City from 2013 to 2020, so as to provide the evidence for formulating the cancer control strategy.
Methods:
The mortality data of cancer patients in Ouhai District from 2013 to 2020 were collected through Zhejiang Provincial Information Management System for Surveillance of Chronic Diseases. The crude mortality, standardized mortality, years of potential life lost ( YPLL ), years of potential life lost rate ( YPLLR ), standardized years of potential life lost ( SYPLL ), standardized years of potential life lost rate ( SYPLLR ), average years of life lost ( AYLL ) and annual percent change ( APC ) were estimated to analyze the trends in mortality and life lost due to cancer.
Results:
Totally 5 435 deaths occurred due to cancer in Ouhai District from 2013 to 2020, and the crude and standardized mortality rates were 154.10/105 and 119.41/105, respectively. The crude mortality of cancer was higher in men than in women ( 196.26/105 and 111.09/105; χ2=415.623, P<0.001 ). The standardized mortality of cancer among whole populations, the crude mortality in men and the standardized mortality in men showed a tendency towards a reduction ( P<0.05 ), with APC of -3.25%, -2.18% and -4.78%, respectively. The crude mortality of cancer showed an upward trend with age ( χ2trend=9 260.583, P<0.001 ). Lung cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer and esophagus cancer were the five leading causes of cancer-related mortality, which accounted for 66.68% of all cancer mortality. Liver cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer and brain cancer were the five leading causes of life lost, with YPLL of 11 191.50, 8 231.00, 6 000.00, 3 892.00 and 2 693.50 person-years, respectively. Leukemia was the primary cause of AYLL ( 25.17 years per person ).
Conclusions
Both the standardized mortality and the life lost due to cancer showed a tendency towards a reduction in Ouhai District from 2013 to 2020, and men and the elderly were high-risk populations. Lung cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, leukemia, brain cancer, and female breast cancer should be listed among cancers in Ouhai District prioritized for control
