1.A new paradigm of agents with the integration of embodied intelligence and industrialized manufacturing of hospital ward spaces

Addressing the core issues of conventional ward models with"building+informatization module",which included system isolation,severely medical and nursing burdens,and poorly patients'experience,this research focused on how to construct autonomous ward space system based on industrialized manufacturing,embodied Artificial Intelligence(AI),and a Cloud-Edge-End architecture through technological integration and paradigm innovation.Combined with advancements of industry 4.0 and AI technique,it firstly proposed an evolutionary path with six-stages from Engineering → Assembly → Industrialization →Productization → Equipped → Embodied Intelligent Entity.It clearly defined the"Ward Space Intelligent Entity"as a standardized medical equipment entity that integrated industrialized manufacturing,integrated architectural space,and embodied intelligence.The study constructed a"Cloud-Edge-End"collaborative architecture that used edge computing as its core,which can explain its offline autonomous characteristics.It explored implementation pathways including"Platform+Module"manufacturing,menu-style customization,on-site assembly,and digital operation and maintenance.The research also analyzed challenges such as interdisciplinary integration and standards/regulations,and proposed solution approach.This study expanded the architectural-scale application of embodied intelligence theory,which provided actionable technical plans and building references for building smart hospital,the industrialized transformation of intelligent medical spaces,and the upgrading of the industry of medical equipment.
2.Arterial resection in pancreatic cancer surgery: a single-center review on 135 procedures

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of pancreatic cancer surgery with arterial resection.Methods:The clinicopathological and follow-up data of 135 patients undergoing pancreatectomies with arterial resection in Pancreas Center, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from Sep 2013 to Dec 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.Results:There were 77 males and 58 females, with age [ M( IQR)] of 63 (14) years old. Among the 135 patients, 122 (90.4%) were distal pancreatectomies, 8 (5.9%) were pancreaticoduodenectomies, 4 (3.0%) were total pancreatectomies and 1 (0.7%) was resection for local recurrence after distal pancreatectomy. There were 120 (88.9%) celiac axis resections, 11 (8.1%) hepatic artery resections, 1 (0.7%) superior mesenteric artery resection and 3 (2.2%) other artery resections. Simultaneous portal vein-superior mesenteric vein or organ resection accounted for 26.7% (36/135) and 29.6% (40/135),respectively. The median blood loss was 300 (300) ml and the median operation time was 275 (105) minutes. The 90-day mortality rate was 7.4% (10/135). The overall morbidity rate was 70.4% (95/135) while the major morbidity rate was 18.5% (25/135). Postoperative hemorrhage occurred in 8.9% (12/135), clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula in 57.0% (77/135), bile leak in 0.74% (1/135), delayed gastric emptying in 9.6% (13/135), liver failure in 3.7% (5/135) and transient liver enzyme elevation in 44.4% (60/135). All of the 135 cases were confirmed as pancreatic cancer histologically, including 54.6% (71/130) moderately differentiated, 45.4% (59/130) poorly differentiated and no for well differentiated. The median tumor size was 4.5 (2.3) cm. The median number of harvested lymph nodes was 14 (13) and the percentage of N0, N1 and N2 according to AJCC 8th staging system was 27.1% (36/133), 52.6% (70/133) and 20.3% (27/133), respectively. The R 0 resection was achieved in 40 of 123 cases (32.5%), whose margins of specimens were assessed circumferentially based on the 1mm rule. The median overall survival time (MST) after surgery was 22.5 months, and the median progress-free survival time was 16.1 months. The overall survival rate at 1-, 2- and 5-year was 71.5%, 45.1% and 11.3%, respectively. The MST of patients who received no adjuvant therapy, chemotherapy after surgery was 8.4 months, 25.3 months, respectively. Conclusions:Pancreatectomy with arterial resection is generally safe and feasible. Survival outcome improves significantly when combined with adjuvant chemotherapy.
3.Application of blended teaching methodology of "teaching-selection-investigation-analysis-presentation- discussion" in Medical Immunology

Objective:To explore the application effects of the blended teaching methodology of "teaching-selection-investigation-analysis-presentation-discussion" in Medical Immunology. Methods:Eight-year program clinical medical students who were enrolled at Peking Union Medical College in 2016, 2017, and 2018 were selected as the research subjects. An anonymous questionnaire survey was used to analyze students' multidimensional evaluations of the new teaching methodology. The percentage of frontier hotspot topics in the "Immunology Forum" was used to analyze the students' mastery of cutting-edge knowledge in immunology. The number of "Immunology Forum" related "College Students Innovative Training Plan Program" from 2020 to 2023 was used to analyze the effectiveness of this new teaching method in cultivating students' scientific research and innovation abilities. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 25.0 software, and the normality of all continuous variables was assessed using the Shapiro-Wilk test.Results:The questionnaire survey showed 100.00% satisfaction with the course and 95.90% recognition of the new teaching method. More than 90% of students agreed that the new teaching method improved their learning ability, research ability, innovation ability, internal drive, and academic communication ability. The average proportion of hotspot topics in the "Immunology Forum" was 90.37%±7.12%, which was significantly higher than the proportion of non-hotspot topics (5.67%±3.12%). 8.Developmental toxicity of Fuganlin oral liquid in SD rats of different ages

OBJECTIVE To investigate the potential developmental toxicity and delayed toxicity of Fuganline oral liquid(FGLOL)after long-term administration in juvenile SD rats via a three-stage juve-nile animal study(JAS).METHODS Stage 1:according to the proposed clinical dose for infants within one year of age,FGLOL 3.88,11.64,38.75 g·kg-1 was orally administered to rats of postnatal day 4(PND4)rats for 18 days,and the drug was stopped for 3 weeks.Stage 2:according to the proposed clinical dose for children ages 1 to 6,FGLOL 3.88,11.64,38.75 g·kg-1 was orally administered to PND15 rats for 31 d,and the drug was discontinued for 3 weeks.Stage 3:according to the proposed clinical dose for children aged 7 to 12,FGLOL 29.06,58.13,116.25 g·kg-1 was orally administered to PND40 rats for 66 d,and the drug was stopped for 4 weeks.The effects of FGLOL on health status,food intake,body mass,growth and development,nerve reflex development,learning and memory ability,physical development(body length),bone development(bone mineral density),hematology and coagulation(white blood cells,red blood cells and platelet count),blood biochemistry(glutamate dehydrogenase,urea nitrogen and triglycerides)and histopathology were investigated in young rats.RESULTS In the three-stage JAS test,long-term administration of FGLOL did not cause rat death,and no toxicological effects were observed on body mass,growth and development,nerve reflex development,physical development,bone development,hematology and coagulation,blood biochemistry and histopathology of juvenile rats compared with the vehicle control group.CONCLUSION The no observed adverse effect level(NOAEL)of FGLOL is 38.75 g·kg-1 for the JAS test corresponding to humans between 1 and 6 years old,while the NOAEL of FGLOL is 116.25 g·kg-1 for the JAS test and repeated drug toxicity test corresponding to humans aged 7 to 12.
9.Developmental toxicity of Qinxiang Qingjie oral solution for 4-day-old young rats

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of Qinxiang Qingjie oral liquid(QXQJ)on growth and development after repeated administration of 18 d to postnatal day 4(PND4)rats.METHODS The number and sex of PND2 pups were adjusted using the cross-breeding method.These pups were ran-domly divided into the normal control,QXQJ 3.45,10.35 and 28.05 g·kg-1 groups.PND4,juvenile rats were ig given QXQJ every day,while the normal control group was given pure water,once a day,for 18 d,before observation of 3 weeks was resumed.During the experiment,the general condition,body mass,growth and development,physique,bone,hematology and coagulation of the rats in each group were detected.RESULTS 18 d after continuous administration of QXQJ,there was no obvious effect on the food intake,growth and development,nerve reflex,spontaneous behavior,hematology,coagula-tion,blood biochemistry,immunity,growth hormone,histopathology and other examination indexes of juve-nile rats.From PND5,juvenile rats in the QXQJ 10.35 and 28.05 g·kg-1groups developed yellow-brown soft or loose stools and abdominal distention,but the symptoms generally recovered at PND22.The body mass,top-rump length,tail length and limb length of the juvenile rats in the 28.05 g·kg-1 group were signifi-cantly lower at PND7(P<0.05),but recovered one week after drug withdrawal.The bone mineral specific gravity and bone mineral density of the 28.05 g·kg-1 group were significantly lower than those of the normal control group at PND22(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference at PND42.CONCLU-SION QXQJ can cause such indigestion symptoms as yellow brown soft stool or loose stool and abdominal enlargement in unweaned juvenile rats,thus affecting the physical development indicators of rats,but the symptoms can recover after withdrawal of medication or withdrawal from milk.The no observed adverse effect level(NOAEL)of QXQJ administered to 4-day-old rats for 18 d is 3.45 g·kg-1.
10.Survey on vision-related quality of life for visual impairment students in special school

Objective To investigate visual impairment students' quality of life and its influencing factors in Braille learning class at Quanzhou Special School. Methods November, 2020, 52 students (aged seven to 26) with the best corrected distance visual acuity of the better eye above 0.02 were investigated with near visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and Chinese-version Low Vision Quality of Life Questionnaire (CLVQOL). The subjects were divided into second grade blindness group, first grade low vision group and second grade low vision group according to the best corrected distance visual acuity of the better eye. Results There were significant differences in distance visual acuity (Z = 45.671, P < 0.001), near visual acuity (Z = 24.972, P < 0.001), and contrast sensitivity (CS) ( Z = 13.285, P = 0.001) among three groups. There was a correlation between near visual acuity and distance visual acuity (r = 0.74, P < 0.001), CS to distance visual acuity (r = -0.58, P < 0.001) and near visual acuity (r = -0.57, P < 0.001), score of CLVQOL and CS (r = 0.44, P < 0.001). There were significant differences in the total score (Z = 10.145, P = 0.006), distance visual acuity subscale (Z = 13.586, P = 0.001), psychological adjustment subscale (Z = 7.824, P = 0.020), reading and fine work subscale (Z = 7.923, P = 0.019) of CLVQOL among the three groups. Conclusion Quality of life is different with the visual impairment for students in special school, especially the distance visual acuity, psychological adjustment and fine reading. CS correlates to the quality of life of visually impaired students, which needs to be a part of evaluation of visual function.
