Objective:To develop a treatment-related quality of life scale for Chinese patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and to test its reliability and validity. Methods:The initial scale was constructed through a literature search, Delphi expert correspondence, and cognitive testing. This study conducted a preliminary survey of 379 patients with MM and a formal survey of 865 patients from the hematology departments of 155 hospitals nationwide from February 2024 to March 2024. The final scale was obtained after conducting item analysis and reliability and validity tests on the initial scale. Results:The constructed scale contains 36 items covering six domains: physiological, psychological, social, treatment side effects, general health, and others. In the preliminary survey, the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of each item ranged from 0.597 to 0.939, and the test-retest reliability was 0.747 ( P<0.001). Exploratory factor analysis extracted eight common factors with a cumulative variance contribution of 60.058%. In the formal survey, the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of each item ranged from 0.484 to 0.930, and the test-retest reliability was 0.835 ( P<0.001). Confirmatory factor analysis revealed a comparative fit index of 0.750, a root-mean-square error of approximation of 0.090, and a root-mean-square residual of 0.067. Conclusion:The treatment-related quality of life scale for Chinese patients with MM designed in this study exhibited good reliability and validity, reflecting the impact of treatment on the quality of life of patients. This scale can provide a reference to clinicians for assessing the disease status of patients.

Objective:To explore the safety and effectiveness of medium-frequency electrotherapy for increasing the volume of the latissimus dorsi muscle. Methods:Fifteen adult New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into three groups, namely group A, group B, and group C, with 5 rabbits in each group. This was a self-control study, with the right latissimus dorsi muscle as the experimental group and the left latissimus dorsi muscle as the control group. The three groups corresponded to three different current intensity levels: 7.062 mA for group A (6th gear), 10.593 mA for group B (9th gear), and 14.124 mA for group C (12th gear). After the 12th, 24th, and 36th sessions of the experiment, ultrasonography was used to collect the thickness of the latissimus dorsi muscle. After the 36th electrostimulation, the latissimus dorsi muscle samples were collected to measure their in vivo muscle thickness and wet weight and were then sent for HE and MASSON staining. Results:After the 12th, 24th, and 36th electrostimulation sessions, ultrasonographic sampling in groups A and B showed an increase in the thickness of the right latissimus dorsi muscle compared to the left; for example, the thickness on the right of group B increased by 37.8%. The wet weight data collected after the 36th electrostimulation in groups A and B showed an increase in the right latissimus dorsi muscle compared to the left; for example, the wet weight on the right of group B increased by 5.04%.Conclusions:Different electrostimulation modes of medium-frequency therapy technology can induce muscle fiber thickening or atrophy. In this experiment, the 9th gear (10.593 mA) of medium-frequency therapy technology may be a suitable choice for inducing muscle fiber thickening, and the 12th gear (14.124 mA) may be a suitable choice for inducing skeletal muscle thinning.

Objective:To study the method of intravascular angiography in vivo, analyze the clinical significance, and supply the basis of diagnosis and treatment of related orthopaedic diseases. Methods:The development was realized by improving the developer to increase the local concentration. Based on the study of Lijianmin-Chengkun Complexes and using the theory of magnetic microspheres, Fe 3O 4 magnetic microspheres with amino (negatively charged) shell are used to adsorb the aggregated ionic developer meglumine diatrizoate (positively charged diatrizoate). That is, by improving the method of developer, the magnetic microspheres can carry the developer to make new nanoparticles magnetic imaging composite particles. Under the action of external magnetic field, the magnetic imaging composite particles brought by blood circulation continue to stay and gather in the blood vessels in the magnetic field area, and the developer carried by the magnetic microspheres in the blood vessels in the magnetic field area is concentrated to reach the imaging concentration, so as to realize in vivo intravascular vascular imaging. By adjusting the ratio of the two reagents, the charge can be neutralized and condensed into small groups to improve the development efficiency. Thus, the electron microscope experiment, CT in vivo experiment, rabbit imaging experiment, experimental rabbit tissue picture confirmation, CT in vivo human body (the author is a volunteer) imaging experiment were carried out step by step. Results:Electron microscope experiment: meglumine diatrizoate, scanning electron microscope, the particle diameter is about 20 nm. Scanning electron microscope showed that the diameter of the magnetic microspheres was about 100 nm and the distribution was uniform. After the two reagents are mixed in a certain proportion, the neutralizing charge condenses into small groups, but it still has magnetohydrodynamic properties and strong paramagnetism. In vivo rabbit imaging experiment: the ideal intraosseous vascular imaging of the proximal tibia was captured. The tissue pictures of experimental rabbits confirmed that the distribution of Fe 3O 4 was obviously visible in the blood vessels in the proximal tibia on the side with magnetic field, but not on the side without magnetic field. In vivo human imaging experiment: the ideal intraosseous vascular imaging of the proximal fibula was captured. Conclusion:Through the preparation of new reagent of magnetic imaging composite particles (magnetic microspheres + meglumine diatrizoate), the concentration of in vivo bone developer can be achieved under the action of external magnetic field, and the in vivo external diameter ≥ 0.5mm can be achieved under CT thin-layer scanning.

Objective:To investigate the diagnosis and treatment value of intraoperative ultrasound (IOUS) in video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) of small solitary pulmonary nodule (SSPN).Methods:Of the 35 SSPN patients who received VATS in Tianjin Third Central Hospital from January 2016 to January 2020, the visual and touch examination (VTE) and IOUS method were used to locate pulmonary nodules during the operation. The differences between the two methods in the locating success rate and locating time were compared. The imaging findings of SSPN were classified and the sonographic characteristics of SSPN were summarized by univariate analysis. Results:The success rate of IOUS locating was 91.43%(32/35), which was higher than that of VTE 48.57%(17/35), and the difference was statistically significant (χ 2=15.310, P<0.001). The time of IOUS locating (6.23±1.93)min was shorter than that of VTE(9.98±1.56)min, and the difference was statistically significant ( t=6.940, P<0.001). The sonograms of 32 SSPN(17 malignancy and 15 benign) patients were all hypoechoic, univariate analysis showed that heterogeneous echo (χ 2=10.615, P=0.01) and unclear borderline (χ 2=10.041, P<0.001) were helpful to judge the benign or malignant. Conclusions:In video-assisted thoracic surgery, using IOUS could quickly and accurately locate and diagnose SSPN, which can shorten the operation time, improve the resection efficiency and guide the operation.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(5):616-621
BACKGROUND:Electroacupuncture has promoting effects on the functional recovery of the injured spinal cord, can decrease pain, and elevate postoperative effect after acute spinal cord contusion.OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of electroacupuncture on apoptosis in the injured site after spinal cord contusion, and analyze its neuroprotective effects on neurological function in rats with spinal cord contusion. METHODS:A total of 66 adult female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into: sham surgery group (n=20), spinal cord contusion group (n=20), electroacupuncture stimulation group (n=20) because six rats were excluded due to modeling failure and death. Before model establishment, at 1, 3 days, 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks after model establishment, motor functions were evaluated by BBB score and the inclined plate test. At 3 days after model establishment, apoptosis of nerve cels could be detected in the site of injury in each experimental group using TUNEL assay. mRNA and protein expression of bax, bcl-2 and caspase-3 was detected surrounding the injury site using RT-PCR and western blot assay. Morphological changes in the site of injury could be observed using hematoxylin-eosin staining. The regeneration of nerve fibers was observed using HRP tracing. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Motor function score was significantly increased at various time points in the 2nd week of treatment in the electroacupuncture stimulation group than in the spinal cord contusion group (P< 0.05). (2) Apoptotic index was significantly lower in the electroacupuncture stimulation group than in the spinal cord contusion group at 3 days after model establishment (P < 0.05). (3) mRNA and protein expression of bax and caspase-3 was significantly lower in the electroacupuncture stimulation group than in the spinal cord contusion group at 72 hours (P < 0.05); bcl-2 gene and protein expression was significantly higher (P < 0.05). (4) The number of HRP-positive nerve fibers was highest in the sham surgery group, folowed by electroacupuncture stimulation group, and lowest in the spinal cord contusion group at 4 weeks (P < 0.05). Results indicated that electroacupuncture plays a protective role on the spinal cord contusion by reducing apoptosis of nerve cels at the site of injury.
