Objective To investigate the effect of Compound Lingdan Capsule on serum biochemical parameters and liver fibrosis degree in a mouse model of liver fibrosis. Methods A total of 125 specific pathogen-free male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into normal control group with 5 mice, CCl 4 model group with 15 mice, low-, middle-, and high-dose CCl 4 groups (0.8, 1.6, and 3.2 mg·g -1 ·d -1 ) with 15 mice in each group, DDC model group with 15 mice, and low-, middle-, and high-dose DDC groups (0.8, 1.6, and 3.2 mg·g -1 ·d -1 ) with 15 mice in each group. After successful modeling, the mice in the administration groups were given Compound Lingdan Capsule suspension at the respective doses by gavage, and those in the normal control group and the model group were given an equal volume of normal saline by gavage, for 4 consecutive weeks. Blood samples were collected from the eyeballs, and serum was used to measure aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), albumin, and bilirubin. Liver tissue samples were collected at the same site of the right lobe of the liver for pathological observation, Sirius Red staining, α-SMA antibody staining, and COL1A1 antibody staining. A one-way analysis of variance was used for comparison of continuous data between multiple groups, and the Bonferroni method was used for further comparison between two groups. Results Compared with the model group, each dose group had significant reductions in the serum level of ALT and a significant increase in the serum level of albumin after the administration of Compound Lingdan Capsule (all P < 0.05), the levels of AST and bilirubin in the middle and high dose groups were lower (all P < 0.05), and the difference of each index in the high dose group was more significant than that in the low dose group (all P < 0.05). Each dose group had varying degrees of improvement in the pathological changes of the liver and a significant reduction in the number of Sirius Red staining-positive cells, as well as varying degrees of reduction in the protein expression of α-SMA and COL1A1. Conclusion Compound Lingdan Capsule can improve liver function and reduce liver fibrosis degree in mice with liver fibrosis.

Dyslipidemia is one of the most common complications of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). This article reviews the latest research on lipid profile, the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and treatment of PBC with hyperlipidemia. Different from other liver diseases, PBC with hyperlipidemia has a unique lipid profile, which changes dynamically with disease progression. It is generally not considered that there are increased risks of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. For those who have indications for treatment, statins are recommended as the first choice. In the future, more in-depth systematic studies are needed to clarify its diagnosis, treatment, and management processes.

Male breast cancer (MBC) is rare and accounts for approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases worldwide. Previous studies have suggested that several factors significantly increase the risk of MBC. Prolactinoma has the highest incidence rate among patients with functional pituitary tumors. However, whether prolactinoma is involved in the onset and progression of breast cancer remains unclear. To date, there are only five case reports globally on MBC with concurrent prolactinoma. We hereby describe the first case of MBC with prolactinoma in China. We also explored the patient's genetic profile using whole exome sequencing. Our findings may help advance our understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of MBC. Further molecular analyses of such cases are warranted to improve auxiliary molecular diagnostic methods and targeted therapy for MBC.

Objective:
To assess application of reconstruction of retrohepatic inferior vena cava using artificial blood vessel in right lobe living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) beyond Milan Criteria.
Methods:
The clinical data of 9 HCC patients who underwent right lobe liver transplantation after reconstruction of retrohepatic inferior vena cava using artificial blood vessel between June 2015 and Nov 2016 at Liver Transplantation Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. The liver of the patients was removed with retrohepatic inferior vena cava, and then the right donor graft was implanted by conventional orthotopic liver transplantation.
Results:
All 9 liver transplantations were performed successfully. The time of reconstruction of hepatic venous outflow of the donor graft was (22.6±3.0) min, anhepatic time was (45.0±7.1) min, and total operation time was (321.9±52.5) min. All patients recovered uneventfully, ICU and hospital stay day were (1.2±0.4) days and (18.4±3.0) days. 2 patients suffered from thrombosis of artificial blood vessel, one recovered after conservative treatment and another was treated by placement of vein stent. No abdominal/pulmonary infection and non-artificial blood vascular complications were found, and none died in perioperative period. Postoperative pathological results showed that all patients were hepatocellular carcinomas and vascular tumor thrombosis was found in 5 cases. All patients were follow up, 1 patient died of pulmonary and brain metastasis 10 months after operation. One patient survived with local recurrence of tumor in liver. The other patients had no tumor recurrence and metastasis.
Conclusion
Replacement of retrohepatic inferior vena cava using artificial blood vessel in right lobe living donor liver transplantation is safe and feasible in the treatment of HCC beyond Milan Criteria, and might improve the resection rate of diseased liver and the prognosis of HCC patients after living donor liver transplantation.
