1.Correlation of serum pentraxin 3, fatty acid-binding protein 4 and prolyl hydroxylase 2 levels with the severity of diabetic macular edema

AIM: To explore the correlation of the levels of serum pentraxin 3(PTX3), fatty acid-binding protein 4(FABP4), and prolyl hydroxylase 2(PHD2)with the severity of diabetic macular edema(DME).METHODS:A total of 157 DME patients admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to March 2025 were selected as the DME group, categorized into mild, moderate, and severe groups based on the severity of their condition. Additionally, 157 patients with simple T2DM during the same period were also selected as the T2DM group. ELISA was used to detect serum levels of PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2; Logistic analysis was conducted to identify factors affecting severe DME; and ROC curves were drawn to analyze the evaluation value of serum PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2 in patients with severe DME.RESULTS: There were differences between the T2DM group and the DME group in the duration of diabetes, fasting blood sugar, glycated hemoglobin, and homocysteine levels(all P<0.05). Compared with the T2DM group, the serum levels of PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2 in the DME group were significantly elevated(all P<0.05). In comparison to the mild group, the moderate and severe groups had significantly higher serum levels of PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2(all P<0.05). Compared with the moderate group, the severe group had significantly higher serum levels of PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2(all P<0.05). Logistic analysis showed that PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2 are risk factors affecting severe DME(all P<0.05). The results of the ROC curve indicated that the AUCs for the individual and combined evaluations of serum PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2 in severe DME patients were 0.788, 0.802, 0.814, and 0.957, respectively, with the combined evaluation having a higher AUC than the individual evaluation(Z=2.696, Z=2.711, Z=2.714, all P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Serum levels of PTX3, FABP4, and PHD2 are significantly elevated in patients with DME, and the three are associated with the severity of the patients' condition. Combined testing has a certain clinical value in assessing patients with severe DME.
2.The correlation research between carotid intima-media thickness and enlargement of left atrium and left ventricle for patients with acute cerebral infarction

Objective To investigate the correlation between carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and left atrial and left ventricular enlargement in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 224 patients with acute cerebral infarction were included. Based on the thickness of CIMT, it was divided into three groups which were normal CIMT group, thickening CIMT group, and carotid plaque (CP) group, with 57, 97, and 70 patients included respectively. Clinical data were collected, and carotid artery color Doppler ultrasound, cardiac color Doppler ultrasound and other examinations were determined to carry out relevant statistical analysis.Results The left anterior-posterior diameter (LAD) , left atrial diameter index (LADI) , left ventricular end-diastolic septal thickness (IVSD) , and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) in the CP group were all higher than those in the normal CIMT group and thickening CIMT group (P < 0.05). The percentage of the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) took in the thickening CIMT group were both higher than those in the CP group (P < 0.05). Multi-factor logistic regression analysis indicated that there were statistically significant differences in age, homocysteine and left LVMI (P < 0.05). In the Pearson correlation analysis, CIMT and LADI were positively correlated (r= 0.184, P < 0.01) , and there was a positive correlation between CIMT and LVMI (r = 0.236, P < 0.01). Conclusions Left ventricular enlargement is one of the highrisk factors for CIMT abnormalities in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Left atrial and left ventricular enlargement are closely correlated to the severity of CIMT in patients with acute cerebral infarction, indicating that abnormal CIMT in patients with acute cerebral infarction has a certain predictive effect on left atrial and left ventricular enlargement.
3.The curative effect of nasal flush combined budesonide suspension liquid atomizing inhaled treatment in infant allergic rhinitis

Objective To observe the nasal flush combined budesonide suspension liquid atomizing inhaled treatment of allergic rhinitis in infants,explore the allergic rhinitis treatments in infants. Methods 137 cases diagnosed as allergic rhinitis were collected and randomly divided into 70 cases as the treatment group and 67 patients as the control group. The patients in control group were washed the nasal cavity with 2.8% warm sodium chloride solution using 50ml and 0.5% metronidazole injection 30ml by turn. At the first week, 1 time/d, then one time every other day,while according to age,body mass the patients were given to loratadine, 1 time/d. Treatment group were used budesonide nasal inhalation of 1 ml at the base of treatment of the control group. Before and after the treatment , nasal congestion,sneezing, flow clear nose, sleep snoring and sleep quality score index were observed and compared.Results 70%of the treatment group the nasal congestion,sneezing,flow clear in 3 times after treatment with ease.The children sleep quality improved and the snoring fewer over night,only 56.7% of the control group of these symptoms improved. After the treatment the efficiency evaluation of treatment group and control group respectively was 95.1% and 77.7% ,there was statistically significant difference( x2 =9.83 ,P <0. 01 ). 137 cases of patients without a side effects. Conclusion curative effect of nasal flush combined budesonide suspension liquid nasal spray inhaled treatment of allergic rhinitis was distinct,infant effect-acting quickly,without side effects,easy to use.
4.Role of immediate quantitative coronary angiography analysis in percutaneous coronary intervention

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of immediate quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) analysis in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods The parameters of QCA and conventional methods before and after PCI were compared and statistics was performed by using t test or ANOVA methods. Results One hundred and two patients were enrolled in our study. Significant differences between QCA and conventional methods were found in evaluation of lesion length [ ( 22.9 ± 8.9 ) mm vs (24. 8 ± 10. 6) mm,t = 9. 63, P < 0. 05 ], stenosis diameter [ (3.0 ± 0.4 ) mm vs (2. 9 ± 0. 7) mm, t = 6. 31, P < 0. 05 ] and stenosis area [ ( 87. 8 ± 10. 7 ) mm2 vs ( 85.0 ± 12.9 ) mm2, t = 2. 54, P < 0.05 ], and also in different vessels. Stenosis diameter and stenosis area after stenting in target lesion were lower than the international standards. Conclusion Immediate QCA analysis can be effective in directing stent implantation.
