Objective:
To explore the association between takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province, so as to provide theoretical basis for the prevention of anxiety and depressive symptoms co-occurrence among adolescents.
Methods:
A random cluster sampling involving 8 500 first year junior high school students in 11 counties in Yunnan Province was conducted by a questionnaire survey from October to December 2022. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) was applied to assess anxiety and depressive symptoms in first year junior high school students. Chi-square test was used to compare the anxiety-depression co-occurrence symptoms of first year junior high school students with different demographic characteristics. The association between takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms of adolescents was analyzed by binary Logistic regression models.
Results:
The detection rate of co-occurrence of anxiety and depression symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province was 26.92%. After controlling for demographic variables and other confounders, takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption( OR=1.50, 95%CI =1.27-1.77) was associated with anxiety-depression co-occurrence symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province ( P <0.01). Stratified analysis showed that both Han ( OR=1.37, 95%CI =1.07-1.77) and ethnic minorities ( OR=1.60, 95%CI =1.29-2.00) exhibited statistically significant associations between takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms(both P <0.05).
Conclusions
Takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption increases the risk of co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province. It is recommended to strengthen guidance on the consumption of such products among junior high school students to prevent co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms.

This study aims to determine the nephrotoxic effects of 3-monochloropropanel-1,2-diol(3-MCPD)on female and male SD rats.A nephrotoxicity model was established by gavage of dif-ferent doses of 3-MCPD,and 80 SD rats were randomly divided into four groups:the control group(0 mg/kg 3-MCPD),low-dose group(15 mg/kg 3-MCPD),medium-dose group(30 mg/kg 3-MCPD),high-dose group(60 mg/kg 3-MCPD),with half female and half male. The body mass and food intake of the rats were recorded weekly, and the urine and blood and kidney tissues were col-lected after 28 consecutive days of gavage, and the blood erythrocyte count(WBC),white blood cell count(RBC),hemoglobin(HGB),erythrocyte-compaction-transfer-value(HCT),creatinine(CREA),serum urea nitrogen(BUN),and the indexes of blood phosphorus(P)and calcium(Ca)were detected;the level of kidney injury molecule(KIM-1)was measured by ELISA kit;the renal pathological changes was observed by histopathology method;and transcriptome sequencing was used to analyze differential genes in female and male rats. The results showed that 3-MCPD did not significantly affect the growth of male rats, but high doses significantly reduced the weight and food intake of female rats. The high-dose group of 3-MCPD caused a significant decrease in RBC,HGB,and HCT levels in both male and female rats, resulting in a significant increase in KIM-1 and P,and a significant decrease in Ca,but only a significant increase in CREA and BUN in female rats.Histopathology showed that in the high-dose group of male rats, only mild renal tubular dilation, epithelial cell edema, and clear tubular type were observed in the kidneys, while in female rats,a large number of renal sacs, clear tubular type, and interstitial inflammatory cells with fibrosis were observed in the kidneys.Transcriptome sequencing showed 1 712 differentially expressed genes in the high-dose group of female rats and 1 153 differentially expressed genes in the high-dose group of male rats.KEGG enrichment analysis showed that both male and female rats in the high-dose group experienced oxidative stress and cell apoptosis, but 3-MCPD may also participate in the process of kidney damage in females by inhibiting autophagy and inducing iron death pathways. The above results indicate that high-dose 3-MCPD has a more significant nephrotoxic effect on fe-male rats.

Objective To evaluate the effect of hypotension factor on endotracheal tube cuff-in-duced damage to tracheal mucous membrane of rabbits. Methods Eighty healthy rabbits of both sexes, aged 3.0-3.5 months, weighing 2.5-3.5 kg, were divided into 16 groups(n=5 each)according to the cuff pressure and mean arterial pressure(MAP): different cuff pressures when MAP did not decrease groups(C1M1group, C2M1group, C3M1group, C4M1group), different cuff pressures when MAP de-creased by 20% of the baseline value groups(C1M2group, C2M2group, C3M2group, C4M2group), dif-ferent cuff pressures when MAP decreased by 30% of the baseline value groups(C1M3group, C2M3group, C3M3group, C4M3group), and different cuff pressures when MAP decreased by 40% of the baseline value groups(C1M4group, C2M4group, C3M4group, C4M4group). Different cuff pressures were 0, 10, 20 and 30 cmH2O.At 2 h of tracheal intubation, the tracheas in the cuff-compressed area were harvested and sliced for examination of the pathological changes of tracheal mucous membrane after haematoxylin and eosin staining(with a light microscope), and the damage to tracheal mucous membrane was scored. Results When at the same low pressure(MAP decreased by 20%, 30% and 40% of the baseline value), the score of damage to tracheal mucous membrane increased with the increasing cuff pressures(P<0.05). When at the same cuff pressure(10, 20 and 30 cmH2O), the score of damage to tracheal mucous membrane in-creased with the increasing MAP(P<0.05). There was interaction between cuff pressure and MAP, F=2.034(P<0.05). Conclusion There is interaction between the effects of hypotension factor and endotra-cheal tube cuff factor on damage to tracheal mucous membrane; hypotension factor can aggravate endotra-cheal tube cuff-induced damage to tracheal mucous membrane of rabbits.

BACKGROUND:Most stroke patients affected walking dysfunction. Virtual reality-enhanced body weight-supported treadmil training has been proposed as a strategy for gait training of cerebral infarction subjects.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality-enhanced body weight-supported treadmil training on lower limb motor function in subacute cerebral infarction patients.
METHODS:Twenty cerebral infarction patients (within 3 months of onset) were randomly divided into experiment group (virtual reality-enhanced body weight-supported treadmil training) and control group (conventional physiotherapy). Three-dimensional gait analysis in lower limb motor function was carried out before and after 3-week gait training. Intergroup and intragroup comparisons in the fol owing parameters were done before and after training:walking speed, cadence, step time, single limb support time (%), double limb support time (%), nonparetic swing (%), step length, pace, range of motion in the lower limb, functional ambulation category, Fugl-Meyer Assessment of the lower limbs and Brunel Balance Assessment.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:No significant differences in patient’s gender, age, course of disease, affected. side, walking speed, functional ambulation category, Fugl-Meyer Assessment of the lower limbs and Brunel Balance Assessment were detected between the two groups before training (P>0.05). Fugl-Meyer Assessment and functional ambulation category were improved in patients of the two groups after training (P<0.05). The improvement in walking speed, cadence, step time in affected side, step time in healthy side, single limb support time in affected side (%), nonparetic swing (%), pace, step lengths in affected and healthy sides were better in the experimental group than those in the control group.

BACKGROUND:Total hip arthroplasty is known to be a successful surgical procedure to al eviate hip pain and to regain gait ability, but there are many debates on whether patients’ gait could reach a normal level several years later. OBJECTIVE:To investigate spatiotemporal parameter characters of lower extremities in patients during walking in sequela period fol owing unilateral total hip arthroplasty, and to probe into patients’ walking abilities.
METHODS:In accordance with the method of Case Database Data Analysis detected by Motion Reconstruction Laboratory, 14 patients at 5-10 years after total hip arthroplasty served as the experimental group, and 14 matched healthy persons served as the control group. Gait parameters of lower extremities during walking were col ected by Vicon Nexus. Spatiotemporal parameter characters of lower extremities during gait cycle were analyzed by using Polygon.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the control group, walking speed, cadence, stride length and step length decreased, but double support and opposite foot off increased on both affected and unaffected sides in the experimental group (P<0.05). Both stride time and step time of the operated lower extremities increased (P<0.05). Foot off of non-operated lower extremities increased (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in al spatiotemporal parameters between operated and non-operated lower extremities (P>0.05). The results suggested that gaits of patients showed good gait symmetry at 5-10 years after surgery. However, they do not reach the level that observed in healthy subjects, and walking ability was poorer than normal persons. Systematic rehabilitation training is needed to improve walking ability.
