Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Quhan Tongluo Formula in treating knee osteoarthritis(KOA)of cold-dampness obstruction pattern. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 231 patients with KOA of cold-dampness obstruction pattern admitted to Dongfang Hospital,Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from December 2022 to December 2023.The patients were divided into an exposed group(105 cases)and a non-exposed group(126 cases)based on whether Quhan Tongluo Formula was applied. The exposed group received Quhan Tongluo Formula combined with celecoxib, while the non-exposed group received only celecoxib.Using propensity score matching based on the baseline data of the medical records,76 pairs(a total of 152 cases)were matched. The changes in Visual Analog Scale(VAS)scores,Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)total scores, and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores before treatment and at 2,4,and 6 weeks after treatment were compared between the two groups, and safety was evaluated. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in VAS scores or WOMAC pain scores between the two groups. After treatment, both groups exhibited significant reductions in VAS scores and WOMAC pain scores, with the exposed group demonstrating significantly greater reductions compared to the non-exposed group(P<0.01).The total clinical effective rate was significantly higher in the exposed group than in the non-exposed group(P<0.01).Conclusion The clinical application of Quhan Tongluo Formula combined with celecoxib demonstrated superior efficacy over celecoxib monotherapy in treating knee osteoarthritis of cold-dampness obstruction pattern. The combined regimen significantly reduced VAS scores, total WOMAC scores, and TCM syndrome scores, with marked improvements in long-term efficacy.

The outbreak of COVID-19 around the world has made more than two millions of confirmed patients and serious shortages of healthcare resources and medical staff in many countries. In the battle of fighting COVID-19 in Wuhan, many microsurgery staff across China were sent to Wuhan and put on duty in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The purpose of this article is to review the personal experiences of microsurgery staff in fighting against COVID-19 as well as to analyse how to act professionally when facing the challenges and change of roles and meanwhile having to give full play to the professional advantages subject to make contributions to the battle of COVID-19. A reference is hereby provided for the microsurgery staff in dealing with a sudden and major epidemic outbreak in the future.

OBJECTIVETo assess the association of a single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) in tumor suppressor gene P53 with the risk of endometriosis (EM) in Han Chinese women.
METHODSFor 460 EM patients, 113 patients with endometrial carcinoma and 530 matched unrelated controls, a rs1042522(C/G) SNP of the P53 gene was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-single strand polymorphism (PCR-SSP) and DNA sequencing.
RESULTSA significant difference has been detected in the distribution of rs1042522 alleles and genotypes between the EM patients and controls (P< 0.01). Allele G has increased the risk of EM by 1.209 times, while allele C has reduced this risk by 0.837 times. Compared with GG genotype, GC and CC genotypes have both increased the risk for EM (OR=2.073, 95%CI: 1.521-2.820, and OR=1.930, 95%CI: 1.363-2.733, respectively). Significant differences were also detected in the distribution of rs1042522 alleles and genotypes between endometrial carcinoma patients and controls (P< 0.01). Allele G has increased the risk to endometrial carcinoma by 1.311 times, while allele C has reduced this risk by 0.757 times. Compared with GG genotypes, individuals with GC and CC genotypes are more likely to be affected with endometrial carcinoma (OR=2.778, 95%CI: 1.585-4.870, and OR=2.864, 95%CI: 1.557-5.263, respectively).
CONCLUSIONOur study has suggested a significant association between the rs1042522(G/C) polymorphism and susceptibility to EM in Han Chinese women. The mechanism of EM is similar to carcinoma from genetics point of view.

To study the chemical constituents of Buddleja lindleyana Fort.. Methods The constituents were isolated and purified by various chromatographic methods and structurally identifed by physico-chemical properties and spectral analysis. Results 10 compounds were obtained as α-spinasterol (Ⅰ), stigmasterol (Ⅱ), β-sitosterol (Ⅲ), ursolic acid (Ⅳ), oleanolic acid (Ⅴ),phenanthrene (Ⅵ), glycerol mono tetracosanoate (Ⅶ), nonacosane (Ⅷ), acaciin (Ⅸ) and 6-O-vanilloyl-ajugol (Ⅹ). Conclusion All these compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.
