Jinqi Jiangtang Capsule (JQJTC) is clinically used for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes, but the contents of its main chemical components are not yet clear. In this study, an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) method was established for the determination of 15 components in JQJTC, including new chlorogenic acid, chlorogenic acid, cryptochlorogenic acid, formononetin, ononin, calycosin, calycosin-7-glucoside, astragaloside IV, berberine, epiberberine, berberrubine, coptisine, jatrorrhizine, palmatine and magnoflorine. The method was used to determine the contents of 15 components in the capsule and then to investigate the influence of excipients on the contents of the components in JQJTC. The separation was performed on a ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 column (100 mm × 2.1 mm, 1.7 μm) with a mobile phase consisting of 0.1% acetic acid and 5 mmol·L-1 ammonium acetate (A) and acetonitrile (B) with gradient elution at a flow rate of 0.3 mL·min-1 and a column temperature at 40 ℃. Electron spray ionization was used for mass spectrometry in positive ion mode. The established method meets the requirements of methodology of content determination in Chinese pharmacopoeia. The contents of 15 components in JQJTC varied from high to low. The top 5 contents were berberine, chlorogenic acid, magnoflorine, coptisine, and cryptochlorogenic acid, accounting for 87.31% of the total content. The contents of 10 components, including the alkaloids of coptidis rhizoma (berberine, epiberberine, berberrubine, coptisine, jatrorrhizine, palmatine and magnoflorine) and the organic acids of honeysuckle (new chlorogenic acid, chlorogenic acid, and cryptochlorogenic acid) in the whole formula extract without excipients was significantly lower than that in the capsule. These components accounted for 99.20% of the determined component contents. In this experiment, an accurate, sensitive and efficient UHPLC-MS/MS method for the determination of multi-components in JQJTC was established, which stably and reliably detected the contents of 15 components in the capsule and could provide the basis for more comprehensive quality analysis. It was also found that excipients had an increasing effect on the contents of detected alkaloid and organic acid components, which may be beneficial to the effectiveness of the capsules.

Microplastics pose a serious threat to the environment and human health, but the circulating distribution and transport processes of microplastics in organisms have not been fully assessed. Therefore,it is of great significance to construct a probe that can image trace microplastics and visually monitor their circulation and transport in vivo.Afterglow semiconducting polymers are attractive for applications in biological imaging as they do not contain heavy metal ions, are easy to biodegrade and allow high signal-to-noise ratio afterglow imaging without continuous excitation. In this study, with styrene as reaction monomer, polyvinylpyrrolidone as surfactant, and sodium persulfate as initiator, afterglow polystyrene microspheres for in vivo imaging of microplastics were prepared.During the polymerization process,poly[(9,9-di(2-ethylhexyl)-9H-fluo-rene-2,7-vinylene)-co-(1-methoxy-4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-2,5-phenylenevinylene)](PF-MEHPPV)and photosensitizer silicon 2,3-naphthalocyanine bis(trihexylsilyloxide)(NCBS)were co-doped into polystyrene microspheres. The prepared afterglow polystyrene microspheres exhibited an afterglow duration of 96 h and a tissue penetration depth of 1.8 cm.It was found that co-doping of PF-MEHPPV and NCBS had little effect on the particle size and Zeta potential of the microspheres, and allowed to monitor the afterglow luminescence signal in vivo for 24 h.Imaging of mouse organs after anatomy showed that the afterglow signal was still observed in the stomach of mice 48 h after gavage. This study provided a new method for imaging and tracing microplastics in vivo.

Purpose:
Polyacrylamide hydrogel (PAHG), which had been used widely for breast augmentation, has been banned for more than 15 years. Patients who had been injected PAHG for breast augmentation need evacuation surgery to remove as much as possible. To provide a series of diagnosis and treatment process MRI and intraoperative color Doppler ultrasound are combined for maximal removal of PAHG.
Methods:
The patients who received evacuation surgery in Peking University Third Hospital from 2010 to 2022 after PAHG injection for breast augmentation were included in this research. MR scanning was performed preoperatively and postoperatively in some of these patients and color Doppler ultrasound was applied to help evacuate PAHG intraoperatively. The mean clearance rate of PAHG was calculated according to the MRI outcomes.
Results:
Two hundred and 4 patients had received evacuation surgery after PAHG injection for breast augmentation with an average age of 42.8 years and an average body mass index of 21.2 kg/m 2 . The average PAHG retention time was 13.5 years. Among them, 52 patients underwent pre- and postoperative MRI scanning. The mean three-dimensional (3D) volume of PAHG was 684.8 mL (range, 350.0–1,123.9 mL), and the average residual 3D volume of PAHG was 53.7 mL (range, 12.4–98.3 mL). The mean clearance rate was 92.1%.
Conclusion
MRI and intraoperative color Doppler ultrasound can provide effective and precise location information of PAHG for evacuation surgery, which is a reliable method to ensure the maximal removal of PAHG.

Nanotechnology has shown obvious advantages in the field of medical treatment and diagnosis. Through the encapsulation of nano carriers, drugs not only enhance the therapeutic effect and reduce toxic and side effects, but also become intelligent responsive targeted drug systems through the modification on the surface of nano carriers. However, due to the obstacles in relevant basic research, production conditions, cost, clinical trials, and the lack of pharmacokinetic research on various drug loading systems, few nano systems have been used in therapy. In order to solve the above problems, this paper reviewed and analyzed the research progress of nano carriers in drug delivery, including their auxiliary role and characteristics, types and functions, pharmacokinetics, application prospects and challenges.
