AIM To investigate the protective effects of Shuangyi Qushi Tongluo Capsules(Shuangyi Capsules)on Dexamethasone(Dex)induced osteoporosis in mice.METHODS The C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into the control group,the model group,the Xianling Gubao Capsules group(1.5 g/kg),and the low-dose,moderate-dose,and high-dose Shuangyi Capsules groups(0.6,1.2,and 2.4 g/kg).The mouse model of osteoporosis was induced by 8-week intraperitoneal injection of Dex sodium phosphate injection(5 mg/kg).The mice had their femur osteogenesis observed with hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP)staining;their serum alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and osteocalcin(BGP)activities detected by ELISA;their femoral mRNA expressions of Col-Ⅰ,OCN,and OPN detected by RT-qPCR;and their femoral protein expressions of OPG and RANKL detected by Western blot.Upon the MC3T3-E1 cells exposed to Dex and Shuangyi Capsules,their viability was evaluated by CCK-8 assay;their mineralization determined by alkaline phosphatase staining and alizarin red staining(ARS);and their intracellular ROS level detected using DCFH-DA probe.RESULTS Compared with the model group,Shuangyi Capsules groups demonstrated improved fracture of femoral trabeculae and reduced number of osteoclasts;increased serum ALP and BGP activities(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);increased femoral expressions of Col-Ⅰ mRNA and OPG protein(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);and decreased RANKL protein expression(P＜0.05).Compared with the MC3T3-E1 cells stimulated by Dex,those underwent further treatment of Shuangyi Capsules demonstrated increased cell viability and ALP activity(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);increased mineralization and calcium nodule formation;increased expressions of Col-Ⅰ,OCN,OPN mRNA and OPG protein(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);decreased RANKL protein expression(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);and reduced ROS levels.CONCLUSION Shuangyi Capsules ameliorate Dex-induced osteoporosis in mice by suppressing osteoclast overactivation,enhancing osteoblast activity,and stimulating bone formation through modulation of Col-Ⅰ,OCN,OPN mRNA and OPG/RANKL protein levels.

Objective To investigate the short-term efficacy of 3D-printed artificial vertebral body combined with PEEK-Cage implantation in anterior cervical surgery for ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament of the cervical spine(OPLL).Methods The clinical data of 15 patients with OPLL who underwent anterior cervical surgery with 3D-printed artificial vertebral body and PEEK-Cage implantation in the Fifth Department of Orthopaedics,Liaoning Provincial People's Hospital from September 2022 to June 2023 was retrospectively analyzed.The surgical time,intraoperative blood loss,postoperative drainage volume,bed rest time,hospital stay,and surgery-related complications of patients were analyzed.The Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score and visual analogue scale(VAS)score of patients were counted before surgery,3 days after surgery,1 month after surgery and 6 months after surgery.The changes of Cobb angle of fusion segment of patients were recorded before surgery,3 days after surgery,1 month after surgery and 6 months after surgery.Results All 15 patients successfully completed the surgery.The surgical time was 130 to 160 minutes,with an average of(148.68±10.04)minutes.The intraoperative blood loss was 50 to 200 mL,with an average of(130.0±18.8)mL.The postoperative drainage volume was 220 to 980 mL,with an average of(270.0±24.6)mL.The bed rest time was 3 to 11 days,with an average of(3.6±2.8)days.The hospital stay was 7 to 16 days,with an average of(8.2±2.6)days.All patients'incisions healed in the first stage,and no infection occurred.One patient suffered from dural sac tear during surgery;4 patients had dysphagia after surgery;1 patient suffered from muscle weakness of one limb after surgery;Hematoma formed in the incision of cervical spine in 1 patient 3 days after surgery.At 3 days,1 month,and 6 months after surgery,the Cobb angle,VAS score and JOA score of 3 patients with myeloid symptoms and upper limb root pain were significantly improved compared with those before surgery(P<0.05),and the Cobb angle and JOA score of 12 patients with only myeloid symptoms were significantly improved compared with those before surgery(P<0.05).Conclusion 3D-printed artificial vertebral body combined with PEEK-Cage implantation in anterior cervical surgery is an effective method for the treatment of OPLL,which can significantly relieve patients'pain and improve their dysfunction in a short time,with good stability and fusion effect.

Objective To design a centrifugal agtomization principle-based disinfection and disinsection device for plateau areas.Methods A disinfection and disinsection device was developed based on centrifugal atomization principle,which was composed of a spraying body,lifting and rotating mechanisms,an electrical control system,a spray tank and a sprayer carriage.The spraying body consisted of spraying components,a motor,an air blower,a fan and etc,and the spraying components adopted the structural form of multi-layer disc stacking to realize the atomization of liquid medicine;the lifting mechanism implemented up-and-down adjustment of the air blower through an electric actuartor,and the rotating mechanism executed left-and-right adjustment of the air blower thrgouth the worm gear motor and limit switch;the electrical control system was made up of a power source,electrical devices,a distribution system and a control system,in which a lead-acid battery pack was used for power supply and a DGUS touch screen and a DCS001 controller were involved in the control system;the spray tank was formed of a tank body,a needle valve,a water pump,float switch,etc;the sprayer carriage comprised a frame,a pusher,two sealing plates and four wheels.Some disc samples with different diameters were trial produced,and comparison experiments were carried out to investigate the relationship between disc diameter,motor speed,spray flow rate and atomization effect;a prototype was manufactured for performance testing of the device.Results The disc diameter and motor speed were inversely proportional to the droplet size;the spray flow rate was directly proportional to the droplet size,when the spray flow rate increased by 60%,the increment of the droplet size was restrained within 2%to 11%.The prototype test results indicated that the device could be used for ultra-low-volume disinfection and insecticide in plateau areas,with the D50 and D90 of the droplet size being 31 and 48 μm,respectively.Conclusion The device developed gains advantages in atomiztion,and meets the requirements for epidemic prevention,disinfection and disinsection in plateau areas.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2025,46(4):35-39]

Objective:To investigate the related factors of cognitive impairment in middle-aged and old-aged patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:A total of 970 patients with T2DM(585 middle-aged group and 385 old-aged group)were selected from residents of a large community in Beijing from September to December 2018.The Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)was used to assess the cognitive func-tion.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the related factors.Results:The detection rates of cognitive impairment were 12.0％and 13.5％in middle-aged and old-aged patients with T2DM,respectively.Among mid-dle-aged patients with T2DM,work(OR=0.22,95％CI:0.03-0.77)and education at the junior college or un-dergraduate level and above(OR=0.18,95％CI:0.04-0.55)were protective factors for cognitive impair-ment.Myocardial infarction(OR=4.13,95％CI:1.26-13.63)was a risk factor for cognitive impairment.Among old-aged patients with T2DM,drinking tea 1-2 times a week(OR=0.11,95％CI:0.01-0.58)and education at the junior college or undergraduate level and above(OR=0.19,95％CI:0.05-0.54)were protective factors for cognitive impairment.Stroke(OR=3.64,95％CI:1.55-8.39)and good sleep self-assessment(OR=2.75,95％CI:1.13-7.35)were risk factors for cognitive impairment.Conclusion:Cognitive impairment in middle-aged pa-tients with T2DM is related to work,education level and myocardial infarction,and cognitive impairment in old-aged patients with T2DM is related to lifestyle,education level and stroke.

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of 3D-printed navigation guided pudendal lead implantation on nervous regula-tion of lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)in male patients.Methods:Twenty-eight male patients who underwent perineal nervous regulation treatment for LUTS in Gongli Hospital of Pudong New Area from October 2021 to October 2023 were randomly divided into observation group and control group.The technology assisted with 3D-printed navigation to regulate the genital nerves was used in ob-servation group.And the patients in control group were treated with regulation of the genital nerves by routine puncture.Operation time of puncture,number of surgical punctures,and stimulator debugging time compared between the two groups.The improvement of post-operative symptoms and surgical complications of patients in the observation group were recorded as well.Result:A total of 12 male LUTS patients were included in the observation group,with an average age of 36.5±6.5 years,including 7 cases of frequent micturi-tion,3 cases of perineal pain,and 2 cases of dysuria.Four patients showed no significant improvement in symptoms,including two pa-tients with pain and two cases of frequent micturition who did not undergo secondary surgery.While the other eight patients showed sig-nificant improvement in symptoms.The average time for successful puncture in control group was(21.13±4.53)minutes,which was longer than that of the 3D-printed navigation group([10.32±3.42]min)significantly(P＜0.05).The average number of punctures in the ordinary puncture group was 5.62±1.43,which was significantly higher than that in the 3 D-printed navigation group(1.5±0.56).There was no statistically significant difference in the average time for stimulator debugging between the two groups of patients.The conversion rate of the 3D-printed navigation group in the second phase was 66.7％,which was higher than that(37.5％)significantly(P＜0.05).Conclusion:3D printing navigation of pudendal nerve electrode wire implantation can improve the accuracy of electrode implantation and the conversion rate to a certain extent,which has the advantages of reducing the difficulty of surgery.
