Relative/absolute adrenal insufficiency is not uncommmon in the patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. However, this complication was rarely reported due to its unspecific clinical presentations and the unawareness of ICU physicians and cardiac surgeons. However, this puts them on a higher risk of hemodynamic instability and cardiovascular adverse events during hospitalization. Systematic reviews concentrated on it are rarely reported currently. We aim to review the etiology, risk factors, potential pathogenesis and related research progress for this complication.

OBJECTIVE:
To study the correlation and clinical value of the arc height of upper and lower endplates, the height of intervertebral space and osteophyte of posterior edge of intervertebral space in patients with cervical spondylosis.
METHODS:
A total of 108 patients with cervical spondylosis who underwent cervical spondylosis surgery from September 2017 to September 2018 were included in the study. Including 48 males with an average age of 52 years (30 to 72) and 60 females with an average age of 54 years (37 to 79). Among them, C of 6 cases, C of 15 cases, C of 32 cases, C of 42 cases, C of 13 cases. X-ray films of cervical spine were taken before and after operation. The images were accessed by PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) system. The lower and upper endplate arc heights (L, L), intervertebral space height (L), and posterior osteophyte width (L) were measured. Spearman was used to analyze the correlation between them.
RESULTS:
L was negatively correlated with L (r=-0.34, <0.05), L was negatively correlated with L (=-0.36, <0.05). L was positively correlated with L (=0.38, <0.05), L was positively correlated with L (=0.48, <0.05). There was no significant difference between L and L (>0.05), L and L (>0.05).
CONCLUSION
The arc height of the lower endplate is negatively correlated with the width of osteophyte in the posterior margin of the intervertebral space. The cervical degeneration degree can be determined by measuring the arc height of the lower endplate, which has guiding significance for the early prevention and treatment of cervical spondylosis.

Objective To investigate the sexual behavior types, condom use and influencing factors of gonorrhea patients in Yunnan Province, and to provide evidence for the adjustment of sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention and control strategy. Methods A cross-sectional study was carried out to investigate gonorrhea patients in 14 STD clinics in 7 more prevalent prefectures (cities) of Yunnan Province. A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the socio-demographic and sexual characteristics of the patients in a one-to-one way. Multiple Logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of sexual behavior. Results A total of 179 cases of gonorrhea were investigated. The average age was (29.01±8.93) years old. 95.53% (171/179) patients were 40 years old and 88.27% were male patients (158/179). Unmarried patients accounted for 55.31% (99/179). Service and self-employed patients accounted for 34.64% (62/179) and 23.46% (42/179) respectively. The rate of sexual intercourse with opposite sex was 98.32% (176/179), the rate of men who have sex with men was 1.68% (3/179) and the rate of having more than two sexual partners was 27.93% (50/179). The rate of sexual intercourse between temporary partners, spouses/fixed partners and commercial partners were 53.07% (95/179), 37.99% (68/179) and 8.94% (16/179) respectively. Recent sexual activity had lower condom use rate, 17.89% (17/95), 19.12% (13/68) and 18.75% (3/16) respectively. The main ways for gonorrhea patients to make temporary partners were friend introductions or gatherings, accounting for 66.32% (63/95). Condom use in male patients was worse than that in female patients (OR=0.234, 95% CI: 0.084-0.656, P=0.006). Conclusions The patients with gonorrhea were mainly unmarried young adults. The main risk behaviors were unprotected behaviors between heterosexual temporary and spouse/fixed sexual partners. The condom use consciousness was generally low. The promotion of safe sex education for young adults should be further strengthened, with special attention to the use of condoms for temporary sexual behavior and spouse/fixed sexual intercourse.

Objective:
To construct and confirm a predictive model for the risks of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) with metabolic syndrome (MS) and its factors in Xinjiang Kazakh population.
Methods:
A total of 2 286 Kazakh individuals were followed for 5 years from 2010 to 2012 as baseline survey. They were recruited in Xinyuan county, Yili city, Xinjiang. CVD cases were identified via medical records of the local hospitals in 2013, 2016 and 2017, respectively. Factor analysis was performed on 706 MS patients at baseline, and main factors, age, and sex were extracted from 18 medical examination indexs to construct a predictive model of CVD risk. After excluding the subjects with CVD at baseline and incomplete data, 2007 were used as internal validation, and 219 Kazakhs in Halabra Township were used as external validation. Logistic regression discriminations were used for internal validation and external validation, as well as to calculate the probability of CVD for each participant and receiver operating characteristic curves.
Results:
The prevalence of MS in Kazakh was 30.88%. Seven main factors were extracted from the Kazakh MS population, namely obesity factor, blood lipid and blood glucose factor, liver function factor, blood lipid factor, renal metabolic factor, blood pressure factor, and liver enzyme factor. The area under the curve (AUC) for predicting CVD in the internal validation was 0.773 (95%

Chinese Journal of Radiological Medicine and Protection 2020;40(2):140-144
Objective:
To use TLDs and radiochromic films to verify the prescribed doses to both planned target volume (PTV) and organ at risk (OAR) and the 2D dose distribution in IMRT.
Methods:
Eight accelerators of different models were selected in Henan province. The polystyrene phantom provided by IAEA was scanned using CT scanners and then the scanned images were transmitted to treatment planning system (TPS) for prescribing respectively the doses to PTV and OAR. IMRT was performed with phantom exposed to a 6 MV X-rays. The irradiated TLDs and films were delivered for measurement and estimation at Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory at National Institute for Radiological Protection, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Results:
According to IAEA requirements, the relative deviations of the TLD-measured and TPS-planned values were within ±7.0% for the prescribed doses to PTV and OAR. The measured results for PTV have shown that the relative deviation of TLD-measured and TPS-planned values were within -0.3% to 6.9% for 8 accelerators, all consistent with the IAEA requirements. For OAR, the relative deviations of TLD-measured and TPS-planned were within -7.0% to 0.3% for 6 accelerators, consistent with the requirements, whereas those for other 2 accelerators were within -10.8% to -8.4%, not up to the requirements. IAEA required that, for 2D dose distribution, the pass rate of 3 mm/3% be ≥90%. The measured values for 7 accelerators were from 90.2% to 99.9%, consistent with the requirements, whereas that for another one was 70.0%, not meeting the requirement.
Conclusions
The method to verify, using radiochromic film and TLD, the prescribed doses to PTV and OAR and the pass rate of 2D dose distribution is simple and reliable. It is an important step to implement quality control for IMRT and can provide effective support for medical or third-party service institution to verify clinically prescribed dose.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 2019;26(2):186-191
Acute lung injury is a kind of common complication after cardiopulmonary bypass. Acute lung injury is attributed to the ischemia-reperfusion injury and systemic inflammatory response syndrome. Several factors common in cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass may worsen the risk for acute lung injury including atelectasis, transfusion requirement, older age, heart failure, emergency surgery and prolonged duration of bypass. Targets for prevention of acute lung injury include mechanical, surgical and anesthetic interventions that aim to reduce the contact activation, systemic inflammatory response, leukocyte sequestration and hemodilution associated with cardiopulmonary bypass. We aim to review the etiology, risk factors and lung protective strategies for acute lung injury after cardiopulmonary bypass.
