This study was aimed at understanding the Blastocystis,Enteroc ytozoon bieneusi,Cryptosporidium spp.,Gi-ardia duodenalis, and Pentatrichomonas hominis infection status in Chinese Milu deer(Elaphurus davidianus)in various prov-inces of China.A total of 81 fecal samples were collected from Beijing,Inner Mongolia,Hebei, and Hubei.PCR was used to detect the protozoans, and their subtypes and zoonoticity were determined through sequence and phylogenetic analyses.PCR re-sults indicated an infection prevalence of 40.74%,19.75%,and 8.64%for Blastocystis,E.bieneusi, and Cryptosporidium spp.,respectively, whereas G.duodenalis and P.hominis was not detected.Only one subtype of Cryptosporidium spp.(Cryptosporidium deer genotype)was detected.Four E.biene-usi genotypes were detected:HLJD-V,MWC-d1,BEB6,and CGC2.Five Blastocystis ST types were found:ST10,ST14,ST21,ST23,and ST25.Cryptosporidium spp.,E.bieneusi,and Blastocystis infections were prevalent, and zoonotic subtypes or genotypes of E.bieneusi and Blastocystis were i-dentified.The prevention and control of intestinal protozoa in Chinese Milu deer would support population health and is im-portant for public health.

Interleukin 6,a cytokine secreted in innate immune resistant virus infection, has recently attracted widespread attention because of its effects in cytokine storms.High IL-6 levels have been shown to effectively suppress viral infections, but experiments increasingly indicate that excessive IL-6 secretion in complex immune responses in the body is not only counterpro-ductive but also causes severe damage to the body. This article reviews current research progress in the roles of IL-6 in hepatitis B virus, influenza A virus, respiratory syncytial virus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2,rotavirus,and en-cephalomyocarditis virus infections,to provide new ideas and approaches for blocking viral infection and developing new antivi-ral drugs.

The paper explores the evolution of "bone-approaching" acupuncture, its effect target and mechanism. The concrete operation procedure of "bone-approaching" method is recorded originally in Huangdi Neijing (Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor) as short needling and Shu needling (referring to the category of the five needling technique). The periosteum is the most effective stimulation target of "bone-approaching" acupuncture for analgesia, regaining consciousness and regulating spirit. The "bone-approaching" acupuncture is not only prominently effective on bone bi syndrome, but also has the unique effect on painful, encephalogenic and emotional diseases. The paper summarizes and improves "bone-approaching" acupuncture, i.e. "touching bone surface" with needle tip by slow insertion, "touching bone surface" without pain by swift insertion and "touching bone" with needle body by oblique insertion. It contributes to the inheritance, development and supplementation to the bone needling techniques in Huangdi Neijing and is significant for broadening the clinical application range of acupuncture.

Objective: To investigate the lifespan of erythrocytes in megaloblastic anemia (MA) patients. Methods: A prospective cohort study analysis. Clinical data from 42 MA patients who were newly diagnosed at the Department of Hematology, Lanzhou University Second Hospital from January 2021 to August 2021 were analyzed, as were control data from 24 healthy volunteers acquired during the same period. The carbon monoxide breath test was used to measure erythrocyte lifespan, and correlations between erythrocyte lifespan and laboratory test indexes before and after treatment were calculated. Statistical analysis included the t-test and Pearson correlation. Results: The mean erythrocyte lifespan in the 42 newly diagnosed MA patients was (49.05±41.60) d, which was significantly shorter than that in the healthy control group [(104.13±42.62) d; t=5.13,P=0.001]. In a vitamin B12-deficient subset of MA patients the mean erythrocyte lifespan was (30.09±15.14) d, and in a folic acid-deficient subgroup it was (72.00±51.44) d, and the difference between these two MA subsets was significant (t=3.73, P=0.001). The mean erythrocyte lifespan after MA treatment was (101.28±33.02) d, which differed significantly from that before MA treatment (t=4.72, P=0.001). In MA patients erythrocyte lifespan was positively correlated with hemoglobin concentration (r=0.373), and negatively correlated with total bilirubin level (r=-0.425), indirect bilirubin level (r=-0.431), and lactate dehydrogenase level (r=-0.504) (all P<0.05). Conclusions: Erythrocyte lifespan was shortened in MA patients, and there was a significant difference between a vitamin B12-deficient group and a folic acid-deficient group. After treatment the erythrocyte lifespan can return to normal. Erythrocyte lifespan is expected to become an informative index for the diagnosis and treatment of MA.

In the research on cancer theranostics, most environment-sensitive drug delivery systems can only achieve unidirectional and irreversible responsive changes under pathological conditions, thereby improving the targeting effect and drug release performance of the delivery system. However, such irreversible changes pose potential safety hazards when the dynamically distributed delivery system returns to the blood circulation or transports to the normal physiological environment. Intelligent reversible drug delivery systems can respond to normal physiological and pathological microenvironments to achieve bidirectional and reversible structural changes. This feature will help to precisely control the drug release of the delivery system, prolong the blood circulation time, improve the targeting efficiency, and avoid the potential safety hazards of the irreversible drug delivery system. In this review, we describe the research progress of intelligent reversible drug delivery system from two main aspects: controlled drug release and prolonged blood circulation time/enhanced cellular internalization of drug.
