OBJECTIVE: The relationship between fish consumption and stroke is inconsistent, and it is uncertain whether this association varies across predicted stroke risks. METHODS: A cohort study comprising 95,800 participants from the Prediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk in China project was conducted. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect data on fish consumption. Participants were stratified into low- and moderate-to-high-risk categories based on their 10-year stroke risk prediction scores. Hazard ratios ( HRs) and 95% confidence intervals ( CIs) were estimated using Cox proportional hazard models and additive interaction by relative excess risk due to interaction (RERI), attributable proportion (AP), and synergy index (SI). RESULTS: During 703,869 person-years of follow-up, 2,773 incident stroke events were identified. Higher fish consumption was associated with a lower risk of stroke, particularly among moderate-to-high-risk individuals ( HR = 0.53, 95% CI: 0.47-0.60) than among low-risk individuals ( HR = 0.64, 95% CI: 0.49-0.85). A significant additive interaction between fish consumption and predicted stroke risk was observed (RERI = 4.08, 95% CI: 2.80-5.36; SI = 1.64, 95% CI: 1.42-1.89; AP = 0.36, 95% CI: 0.28-0.43). CONCLUSION Higher fish consumption was associated with a lower risk of stroke, and this beneficial association was more pronounced in individuals with moderate-to-high stroke risk.

Lymphoma is a highly heterogeneous malignancy characterized by complex molecular regulatory mechanisms that result in significant differences in aggressiveness and prognosis across its subtypes.Gene copy number alteration(CNA)analysis,an emerging technology,has become a pivotal tool in the precision re-search and management of lymphoma.By detecting DNA deletions,amplifications,and chromosomal copy number changes,CNA analysis addresses the limitations of traditional cytogenetic techniques,enhances the ac-curacy of subtype classification,and aids in evaluating tumor heterogeneity and disease progression.This re-view provides a comprehensive summary of CNA detection methods and their applications in lymphoma,with a focus on recent advancements in the field.It offers a comparative analysis of CNA detection techniques and discusses their role in precision diagnosis,subtype classification,monitoring disease progression,predicting therapeutic resistance,and assessing prognosis.Additionally,the review explores the potential applications of CNA analysis in uncovering molecular regulatory mechanisms,optimizing therapeutic strategies,and impro-ving patient survival outcomes.

The accumulation of uremic toxins such as urea nitrogen, blood creatinine, and uric acid of patients with renal failure in vivo would lead to aggravated kidney damage. In this study, coated aldehyde oxy-starch (CAO) was used as an adsorbent to investigate its in vitro adsorption performance on renal failure indexes for urea, indoxyl sulfate (INS), monomethylamine (MMA), dimethylamine (DMA), uric acid (UA), and creatinine (Cr). The effects of variables such as pH, temperature, concentration, dosage, and time on the adsorption capacity of CAO were systematically investigated, employing analytical techniques of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC). The results revealed that CAO exhibited a strong adsorption capacity for urea, INS, and MMA, alongside a moderate adsorption capacity for DMA, UA, and Cr. The adsorption kinetics and thermodynamic studies indicated that the adsorption of urea and UA by CAO were fitted in pseudo-first-order kinetics, and the adsorption isotherm aligned with the Freundlich adsorption model. The enthalpy change ΔH of urea in adsorption was in the range of 40 to 60 kJ·mol^-1, which demonstrated the presence of strong adsorption force due to the interactions of coordinating groups. The ΔH of UA was greater than 80 kJ·mol^-1, indicating the generation of chemical bonds during the adsorption. Both of them, Gibbs free energy ΔG was less than 0, within the range of -20 to 0 kJ·mol^-1, suggested that the adsorption of urea and UA by CAO occurred spontaneously as physical adsorption process. The adsorption entropy ΔS of urea and UA was > 0, which indicated an increase in entropy throughout the adsorption. The infrared spectroscopygram showed the formation of a chemical bond, specifically the imine bond, following the adsorption of urea by CAO, thereby indicating a chemical reaction during the adsorption. This study elucidates the adsorption mechanism of CAO on various indexes of renal failure, providing a scientific basis for its clinical usage.

AIM To establish LC-MS and GC-MS method and analyze the chemical constituents of Dendrobium huoshanense C.Z.Tang & S.J.Cheng flowers.METHODS LC-MS was performed on a Zorbax Eclipse C18 column(2.1 mm×100 mm,1.8 μm),with the mobile phase comprising of water(containing 0.1％formic acid)-acetonitrile flowing at 0.3 mL/min,and electrospray ionization was operated in both positive and negative ion modes.The GC-MS employed headspace solid-phase microextraction for sample preparation,and the analysis was performed on an HP-5MS column(30 m×0.25 mm,0.25 μm),with the following temperature program:initial temperature 50 ℃(held for 2 min),increased at 5 ℃/min to 180 ℃(held for 5 min),then raised at 10 ℃/min to 250 ℃(held for 5 min),and electron impact ion source was employed.RESULTS A total of 62 compounds were identified by LC-MS,including 35 flavonoids,4 coumarins,6 alkaloids,6 terpenoids,3 amino acids,2 polyphenols,2 ketones and 4 others.A total of 101 volatile components were identified by GC-MS,including ketones,aldehydes,alcohols,esters,ethers,and acid.CONCLUSION This method can comprehensively analyze the chemical constituents of D.huoshanense flowers,and provide a scientific basis for elucidating its pharmacodynamic material basis.

Objective:To measure pancreatic fat deposition by magnetic resonance chemical shift imaging (CSI), and analyze the correlation between pancreatic fat deposition and pancreatic fistula after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the data of 55 patients who underwent PD in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from September 2021 to April 2024. Among them, 34 were male (61.8%) and 21 were female (38.2%), with the age of (63.5±12.0) years. The 55 patients included 17 cases (30.9%) of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, 1 case (1.8%) of pancreatic serous cystadenoma, 2 cases (3.6%) of pancreatic mucinous cystadenoma, 1 case (1.8%) of pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumor, 11 cases (20.0%) of ampullary carcinoma, 10 cases (18.2%) of common bile duct carcinoma, and 13 cases of other pathological types (such as high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia of the ampullary gland, duodenal adenocarcinoma, etc.) (23.6%). Before the operation, pancreatic fat deposition was measured by CSI and the fat fraction was calculated. With a fat fraction of 6.2% as the cut-off value, 55 patients were divided into the normal pancreas group (fat fraction ≤ 6.2%, n=29) and the fat pancreas group (fat fraction > 6.2%, n=26). The total hospitalization cost, postoperative hospital stay, biochemical leakage, grade B pancreatic fistula of the two groups were compared, and the correlation between pancreatic fat fraction and pancreatic fistula was analyzed. Result:The total hospitalization cost in the normal pancreas group was (91 527.3±19 118.4) yuan, and the postoperative hospital stay was 9.0 (8.0, 13.0) days, both of which were lower than those in the fatty pancreas group (107 772.4 ± 27 055.6) yuan and 11.0 (8.0, 22.0) days, and the differences were statistically significant ( t=-2.59, P=0.012; Z=-2.08, P=0.038). In the normal pancreas group, 8 cases (27.6%) of biochemical leakage and 1 case (3.4%) of grade B pancreatic fistula occurred after the operation. In the fat pancreas group, 10 cases (38.5%) of biochemical leakage and 8 cases (30.8%) of grade B pancreatic fistula occurred after the operation. There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of biochemical leakage between the two groups ( χ2=0.74, P=0.391). The incidence of grade B pancreatic fistula after surgery in the adipose pancreas group was significantly higher than that in the normal pancreas group, and the difference was statistically significant ( χ2=5.61, P=0.018). The relationship between pancreatic body fat fraction and the occurrence of pancreatic fistula is correlated (the correlation coefficient was 0.334, 95% CI: 0.127-0.515, P=0.013) The relationship between the overall fat fraction of the pancreas and the occurrence of pancreatic fistula is correlated (the correlation coefficient was 0.472, 95% CI: 0.235-0.689, P<0.001). Conclusions:The incidence of grade B pancreatic fistula after PD in patients with a low fat fraction of the pancreas measured by CSI was lower than that in patients with a high fat fraction. Fat deposition in the pancreatic body and the pancreas as a whole is associated with the incidence of pancreatic fistula.

Objective:To investigate the role of telomere length in the causal effects of immune-mediated diseases on liver fibrosis.Methods:Genome-wide association study (GWAS) data were extracted from open GWAS (https: //gwas.mrcieu.ac.uk) for a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis. Five immune-mediated autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, primary biliary cirrhosis, primary biliary cholangitis, and Crohn′s disease) individually and collectively were included as exposure factors, telomere length as a mediator, and liver fibrosis as the outcome. The Wald ratio and inverse variance weighted (IVW) methods were performed to assess causal effects. The MR-Egger intercept test was adopted to evaluate the level of horizontal pleiotropy. Multivariable MR was employed to quantify the proportion of the effect of immune-mediated diseases on liver fibrosis mediated by telomere length. And sensitivity analyses were performed to assess the robustness of the results.Results:The results of IVW analysis revealed that the overall category of immune-mediated diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, primary biliary cirrhosis, primary biliary cholangitis, and Crohn′s disease were causally related to the high risk of liver fibrosis, and the OR were 1.63 (95% confidence intervals (95% CI): 1.33 to 2.10), 1.28 (95% CI: 1.14 to 1.43), 1.34 (95% CI: 1.02 to 1.74), 1.36 (95% CI: 1.27 to 1.47), 1.37 (95% CI: 1.23 to 1.52), and 1.52 (95% CI: 1.15 to 2.01), respectively ( P<0.001, <0.001, =0.032, <0.001, <0.001, =0.003). Horizontal pleiotropy was detected in the association between Crohn′s disease and liver fibrosis (MR-Egger intercept test, P=0.025).The results of multivariable MR indicated that telomere length acted as a mediating factor in the causal relationship between liver fibrosis and the overall category of immune-mediated diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, primary biliary cholangitis ( OR=2.24, 95% CI: 1.41 to 3.56; OR=1.78, 95% CI: 1.03 to 3.06; OR=2.11, 95% CI: 1.31 to 3.40; OR=2.01, 95% CI: 1.06 to 3.80; P<0.001, =0.038, =0.002, =0.032, respectively ). Conclusion:The causal effects of the overall category of immune-mediated diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and primary biliary cholangitis on liver fibrosis are mediated by telomere length.

The study aims to investigate the effects of adding different proportions of Codonopsis radix compound crude extracts to the rabbit diet on growth performance,immune status,intesti-nal enzyme activity,structure,and microbial composition.A total of 96 5-week-old New Zealand White rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups,with 6 replicates per group.The control group(BC)was fed a basal diet,while the experimental groups(CM-H and CM-L)were fed a basal diet supplemented with 1 000 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg of Codonopsis radix compound crude extracts,re-spectively.The antibiotic group(CK)was fed a basal diet supplemented with 300 mg/kg of keto-tifen.The experimental period was 42 days.Blood samples were collected at days 21 and 42,and se-rum biochemical and immune markers were determined.Intestinal segments and contents were col-lected at day 42 for analysis of intestinal health.The results showed that compared with the BC group,the average daily gain,feed-to-gain ratio,and diarrhea rate were significantly higher(P＜0.05)in the CM-H and CM-L groups.The total cholesterol(Tchol)content in the serum was sig-nificantly lower in the CM-H group at day 21 and the CM-L group at day 42(P＜0.05).The high-density lipoprotein(HDL)was significantly higher in the CM-H and CM-L groups than in the CK group at day 42(P＜0.05),and the total protein(TP)in the serum was significantly higher in the CM-H and CM-L groups than in the BC group(P＜0.05).The IgG and IgM levels in the serum were significantly higher in the CM-H and CM-L groups than in the BC group(P＜0.05).In the CM-H and CM-L groups,the content of acetic acid in the colon was significantly higher than that in the BC group(P＜0.05).The content of propionic acid in the colon of the CM-L group was also significantly higher than that in the BC group(P＜0.05).The content of α-amylase in the duode-num,the content of trypsin in the duodenum,the pancreas,and the ileum of the CM-H group were significantly higher than those in the BC group(P＜0.05),and the content of trypsin in the duode-num of the CM-H group was significantly higher than those in the BC group and the CM-L group(P＜0.05).Compared with the BC group,the content of GPX1 in the ileum and jejunum of the CM-L group and the ileum of the CM-H group was significantly increased(P＜0.05),and the length of the villi in the duodenum of the CM-H group was significantly increased(P＜0.05).Compared with the BC group,the expression level of ZO-1 in the ileum of the CM-H group was significantly upregulated(P＜0.05),and the expression level of Claudin in the jejunum of the CM-H group and the CM-L group was significantly higher than that in the CK group(P＜0.05).The high-throughput sequencing results showed that the Sob index was significantly higher in the CM-L group compared to the BC group(P＜0.05).At the phylum level,the Firmicutes and Bacteroid-ota phyla were the main phyla.At the genus level,Akkermansia and Ruminococcus were the main genera.The relative abundance of Papillibacter and Eubacterium_ruminantium_group in the CM-L group was significantly higher than that in the CK group(P＜0.05).In summary,adding a Codonopsis radix compound crude extract to the diet can improve the growth performance,immu-nity,antioxidant capacity,integrity of intestinal mucosal structure,enzyme activity in the intestine,and increase the diversity of microorganisms in the blind intestine when the diet is supplemented with 500 mg/kg of Codonopsis radix compound crude extract.

To explore the immunomodulatory effects of a new vegetable oil adjuvant(named E515)containing vitamin E(VE)and ginsenosides(GS)on rabbit peripheral blood lymphocytes and Bordetella of rabbit inactivated vaccine.E515,Bordetella bronchiseptica(Bb)and LPS were co-cultured with rabbit peripheral blood lymphocytes in vitro,and the lymphocyte conversion rate was detected by CCK8 method,and the content of lymphocyte supernatant cytokines was detected by ELISA method.After rabbits were immunized with E515-Bb vaccine,the antibody level was detec-ted by indirect ELISA,the serum cytokine content was detected by ELISA,and the protective effect of E515-Bb vaccine on rabbits was observed by challenge test.In vitro cell experiments showed that E515 could significantly increase lymphocyte proliferation and TH1/TH2 cytokine se-cretion in rabbit peripheral blood.In vivo animal experiments showed that E515 adjuvant could sig-nificantly enhance the level of Bb specific antibody induced by Bordetella vaccine in rabbits.In-crease the secretion level of TH1/TH2 cytokines and decrease the secretion level of TNF-α;It can effectively protect rabbits against Bordetella infection with a protection rate of 91.67％.Therefore,E515 as a new vegetable oil adjuvant deserves further study.

Objective To construct a predictive model for the 3-year recurrence-free survival(RFS)after total endoscopic resection of early and mid-stage esophageal cancer,and to test it,in order to provide decision support for standardized management after total endoscopic resection of early and mid-stage esophageal cancer.Methods A retrospective study was conducted to include 306 patients with early-to-mid stage esophageal cancer who underwent total endoscopic resection in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2020.The patients were divided into a modeling set(n=204)and a validation set(n=102)according to a 2∶1 ratio.Univariate analysis and random forest algorithm were used to screen variables,and Cox regression analysis was used to analyze the factors affecting the 3-year RFS after total endoscopic resection for early-to-mid stage esophageal cancer.The R language was used to construct a nomogram prediction model for model validation,and the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC curve)was drawn to calculate the area under the curve(AUC).The discrimination of the prediction model was evaluated,and the calibration curve and decision curve(DCA curve)were used to evaluate the predictive performance and clinical applicability of the prediction model.Results Among the 306 patients with early and mid-stage esophageal cancer who underwent total endoscopic resection,18 died 3 years after the operation,55 relapsed,233 achieved RFS,and the 3-year RFS rate was 76.14％.Through univariate and random forest algorithm screening,seven factors were identified as being associated with the RFS of patients three years after surgery.These factors were entered into a Cox regression analysis,and the results showed that positive abdominal lymph nodes,vascular cancer thrombus,clinical stage Ⅲ,gross type of erosion,age ≥ 65 years,and tumor diameter＞3 cm were risk factors for RFS three years after surgery(P＜0.05).Based on this,a nomogram prediction model for RFS three years after full endoscopic resection for early-to-mid stage esophageal cancer was constructed.Internal and external validation showed that the consistency index of the prediction model in the modeling set was 0.881,and the consistency index in the validation set was 0.867.The ROC curve validation showed that the AUC of the prediction model in the modeling set and validation set were 0.855(95％CI:0.778-0.932)and 0.826(95％CI:0.763-0.890),respectively.The DCA curve validation showed that the risk threshold of the modeling set and validation set were 0-0.95 and 0-0.77,respectively,when the model could achieve high net benefits.Conclusion The 3-year RFS after total endoscopic resection for early and middle stage esophageal cancer is related to multiple factors.The nomogram model based on clinical stage Ⅲ,positive abdominal lymph nodes,vascular tumor thrombus,and gross type of erosion has good clinical utility for predicting the 3-year RFS of patients after surgery,and is of guiding significance for medical staff in making decisions about the management of early and middle stage esophageal cancer after surgery.
