Objective:
To evaluate the clinical efficacy of ultrafast dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE)-MRI using a compressed sensing (CS) technique for differentiating benign and malignant soft-tissue tumors (STTs) and to evaluate the factors related to the grading of malignant STTs.
Materials and Methods:
A total of 165 patients (96 male; mean age, 61 years), comprising 111 with malignant STTs and 54 with benign STTs according to the 2020 WHO classification, underwent DCE-MRI with CS between June 2018 and June 2023. The clinical, qualitative, and quantitative parameters associated with conventional MRI were also obtained. During post-processing of the early arterial phase of DCE-MRI, the time-to-enhance (TTE), time-to-peak (TTP), initial area under the curve at 60 s (iAUC60), and maximum slope were calculated. Furthermore, the delayed arterial phase parameters of DCEMRI, including Ktrans , Kep, Ve, and iAUC values and time-concentration curve (TCC) types, were determined. Clinical and MRI parameters were statistically analyzed to differentiate between benign and malignant tumors and their correlation with tumor grading.
Results:
According to logistic regression analysis, the TTE value (P < 0.001) of the early arterial phase and Ve (P = 0.039) and iAUC (P = 0.006) values of the delayed arterial phase, as well as age, location, peritumoral edema, and contrast heterogeneity on conventional MRI, were significant (P = 0.001–0.015) in differentiating benign and malignant tumors. Among all the quantitative parameters, the TTE value had the highest accuracy, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.902. The grading of malignant tumors was significantly correlated with peritumoral edema; CE heterogeneity; visual diffusion restriction; minimum and mean ADC; TTP, Kep, and Ve values; and the TCC graph (all P < 0.05).
Conclusion
Among the quantitative parameters obtained using ultrafast DCE-MRI, early arterial phase TTE was the most accurate for distinguishing between benign and malignant tumors.

Journal of Nutrition and Health 2024;57(5):496-507
Purpose:
This study examined the nutritional status and Korean Healthy Eating Index (KHEI) scores pre- and post-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak in elderly men and women living in rural areas.
Methods:
The participants were 1,747 rural elderly people aged 65 or older who participated in the nutritional survey of the 2018–2021 Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey. The nutrient intake was estimated from a 24-hour recall.
Results:
Following the COVID pandemic, the intake of fat, saturated fatty acids, and sodium increased in elderly men and women, whereas the intake of thiamine decreased. In elderly men, the intake of protein, niacin, and vitamin D decreased, but the sugar intake increased. In elderly women, the cholesterol intake increased. The KHEI score was significantly lower in rural elderly men and women after the pandemic than before (male: 62.60 ± 0.56 for the post-COVID-19 and 64.76 ± 0.75 for the pre-COVID-19, p < 0.05; female: 64.07 ± 0.80 for the post-COVID-19 and 64.47 ± 0.62 for the post-COVID-19, p < 0.001). Regarding the KHEI component, in men, the intake of meat, fish, and legumes, all sources of protein, decreased significantly after the COVID-19 pandemic. In women, the total food intake and the intake of breakfast decreased significantly after the pandemic. In the moderation components, men were unable to limit their total sugar and sodium intake, while women were unable to control their saturated fatty acids and sodium intake. Furthermore, considering the total KHEI score, both elderly men and women had decreased values in the moderation and adequacy components following COVID-19.
Conclusion
These results provide foundational data for elderly nutrition policies or educational programs targeting the elderly population in rural areas in similar pandemic situations in the future.

Journal of the Korean Society of Maternal and Child Health 2023;27(3):154-166
Purpose:
This phenomenological study aimed to comprehend the altered parenting experience of nurses during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.Method: Using a qualitative approach, the research design employed a phenomenological methodology. The participants were 6 nurses with elementary school-aged children. The nurses were employed in tertiary general hospitals, working on rotating shifts during the COVID-19 pandemic. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect individual data, which were then analyzed using Colaizzi phenomenological method.
Results:
Analyzing the collected data led to 178 significant results, from which 13 themes were derived. These 13 themes were further integrated into 5 distinct theme clusters: (1) struggling as a nurse-mom, (2) providing a supportive presence, (3) facing challenges in facilitating children's learning activities, (4) navigating parental roles in a chaotic situation, and (5) pursuing physical safety. These clusters were subsequently categorized into four overarching categories: “suffering,” which encompassed the themes of pressure of infection and providing a supportive presence, as well as “controlling,” “parenting,” and “seeking,” representing the remaining clusters, respectively.
Conclusion
The parenting experiences of shift nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic encompassed various aspects, including the challenges posed by the pressure of infection, the importance of providing a supportive presence, difficulties in managing children’s learning activities, navigating parental roles amid chaotic circumstances, and the pursuit of physical safety. These experiences significantly impact the stability of shift nurses’ caregiving abilities for both their patients and their children. Therefore, it is crucial to establish a comprehensive nationallevel care support system in times of disaster situations like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2022;83(2):406-413
Malignant tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TsGCT) is a rare disease that can arise as a recurrent lesion or co-exist with a benign TsGCT lesion. Here we report a rare case of malignant TsGCT in a 73-year-old male with a history of lymphoma. The tumor appeared as a superficial soft-tissue mass in the subcutaneous fat tissue of the left knee.
