Background/Aims: Growing evidence suggests histologic healing (HH) improves clinical outcomes in ulcerative colitis (UC) patients beyond endoscopic healing (EH). We hypothesize that HH is associated with better clinical outcomes in Asian UC patients, for whom data is lacking. Methods: We performed a retrospective study of UC patients in clinical remission (CR) with a follow-up colonoscopy and minimum 1-year follow-up post-colonoscopy. Primary outcome was clinical relapse (CRL), defined as either a Simple Clinical Colitis Activity Index score of > 2, medication escalation, hospitalization or colectomy. Predictors of CRL and HH were assessed. Results: One hundred patients were included with a median follow-up of 22 months. At index colonoscopy, 80 patients were in EH. On follow-up, 41 patients experienced CRL. Of 80 patients in EH, 34 (42.5%) had persistent histologic activity (Nancy Index ≥ 2) and 29 (36.3%) relapsed during the follow-up period. Amongst patients in CR and EH, those with HH had lower CRL rate (26.1% vs. 50.0%, P= 0.028) and longer CRL-free survival (mean 46.1 months vs. 31.5 months, P= 0.015) than those with persistent histologic activity. On bivariable analysis of 100 patients in CR, HH, and Mayo endoscopic score (MES) of 0 were significantly associated with lower risk of CRL. On multivariable analysis, only MES 0 remained predictive of lower CRL risk. Conclusions Above and beyond CR and EH, achieving HH improves clinical outcomes in Asian UC patients. However, HH may not confer incremental benefit if MES 0 has been achieved. Further prospective studies evaluating the benefit of histologically guided therapeutic decisions are needed.

Lymphoma is a highly heterogeneous malignancy characterized by complex molecular regulatory mechanisms that result in significant differences in aggressiveness and prognosis across its subtypes.Gene copy number alteration(CNA)analysis,an emerging technology,has become a pivotal tool in the precision re-search and management of lymphoma.By detecting DNA deletions,amplifications,and chromosomal copy number changes,CNA analysis addresses the limitations of traditional cytogenetic techniques,enhances the ac-curacy of subtype classification,and aids in evaluating tumor heterogeneity and disease progression.This re-view provides a comprehensive summary of CNA detection methods and their applications in lymphoma,with a focus on recent advancements in the field.It offers a comparative analysis of CNA detection techniques and discusses their role in precision diagnosis,subtype classification,monitoring disease progression,predicting therapeutic resistance,and assessing prognosis.Additionally,the review explores the potential applications of CNA analysis in uncovering molecular regulatory mechanisms,optimizing therapeutic strategies,and impro-ving patient survival outcomes.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the improvement effect and mechanism of triptolide （TP） on sciatica rats. METHODS Sciatica rat model was prepared and then randomly divided into model group （normal saline）， indomethacin group （positive control， 7.5 mg/kg）， TP low-dose and high-dose groups （TP-L group and TP-H group， 50， 100 μg/kg TP）， and high-dose TP+ stimulator of interferon gene （STING） activator group （TP-H+DMXAA group， 100 μg/kg TP+25 mg/kg DMXAA）， with 12 rats in each group. Another 12 unligated rats were selected as sham operation group （normal saline）. After 14 days of intraperitoneal administration， the paw mechanical withdrawal threshold （PWT） and paw withdrawal thermal latency （PWL） were detected； the pathological changes， morphology of sciatic nerve and the number of microglia in sciatic nerve were observed. The levels of interleukin-1β （IL-1β） and tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）， mRNA and protein expression levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate- adenosine monophosphate synthase （cGAS） and STING in sciatic nerve were detected. RESULTS Compared with sham operation group， PWT and PWL of rats in model group were obviously reduced and shortened， the number of Nissl bodies was obviously decreased， while the number of microglia， sciatic neuropathology score， the levels of IL-1β and TNF-α， mRNA and protein expressions of cGAS and STING were obviously increased （P＜0.05）， and sciatic nerve injury was serious. Compared with model group， the changes of various indexes in indomethacin group， TP-L group and TP-H group were opposite to the above （P＜0.05）， and sciatic nerve injury was reduced. STING activator DMXAA weakened the inhibitory effect of TP on the activity of microglia and inflammatory response in sciatica rats （P＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS TP may reduce the activity of microglia and inflammatory response by down-regulating the cGAS/STING signaling pathway， thus alleviating sciatica in rats.

Objective:To assess the impact of the construction of smoke-free government on the smoking and cessation behaviors of staff members.Methods:This was a retrospective cohort study. The study used stratified random cluster sampling method to select 144 government institutions from 31 Provinces (Autonomous Regions and Municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The survey was carried out between October and November, 2023 by filling out questionnaires online among the insiders of the institutions and all the smoking staff members. The main indicators included the number of smokers before and after the construction of smoke-free governments and the measures for the construction of smoke-free governments. 144 questionnaires from insiders were recovered, all of which were included in the analysis; 1 776 questionnaires from smokers were recovered, including 1 716 valid questionnaires. The SAS 9.4 was used to perform χ 2 test and log-binomial regression analysis. Results:The percentage of smoking staff members decreased from 8.81% before the construction to 6.70% after the construction, and the difference was statistically significant ( χ 2=63.23, P<0.001). Comprehensive smoking ban in indoor public places ( OR=2.301, 95% CI: 1.433-3.694), punishment mechanism for smoking staff members ( OR=1.219, 95% CI: 1.124-1.322), smoking cessation competitions ( OR=1.865, 95% CI: 1.234-2.818) and reimbursement for or provision of smoking cessation medications ( OR=2.210, 95% CI: 1.002-4.874) were facilitators to motivate the smoking staff members to quit (all P<0.01). Numbers of smoking leaders ( OR=0.858, 95% CI: 0.807-0.913) and smoking years of smoking staff members ( OR=0.932, 95% CI: 0.918-0.946) negatively influenced the smoking staff members to quit (both P<0.001). Conclusions:The construction of smoke-free governments can effectively promote the smoking cessation behaviors of smoking staff members. In addition, comprehensive smoke-free policies, punishment mechanism for smoking staff members and activities such as smoking cessation competitions, and reimbursement for or provision of smoking cessation medications are important.

Objective To explore the mediation effect of emotional intelligence in social support and subjective happiness,and to provide practical guidance for scientific management of nursing talents in hemodialysis center.Methods Using a cross-sectional study,by a proportional stratified sampling method,from October 2022 to January 2023,800 hemodialysis nurses in Guangzhou area were selected as the respondents,using the general data adjustment table,general well-being schedule(GWB),social support rating scale(SSRS),and wong law emotional intelligence scale(WLEIS-C).The pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between emotional intelligence,social support and subjective happiness of hemodialysis nurses in Guangzhou;the process macro program was used to explore the mediation effect of emotional intelligence in social support and subjective happiness in Guangzhou.Results 707 valid questionnaires were collected,and the effective recovery rate was 88.38%.The total score of subjective well-being of hemodialysis nurses in Guangzhou was(75.67±8.17),the total score of emotional intelligence(82.29±16.20),and the total score of social support(38.76±8.40).The total score of social support was positively associated with the total score of subjective well-being(r=0.517,P<0.01)and the total score of emotional intelligence(r=0.633,P<0.01),the total score of emotional intelligence was positively related to the total score of subjective well-being(r=0.634,P<0.01).Social support had a direct effect on subjective well-being(β=0.165,95%CI:0.103-0.261),and indirectly affected it through the partial mediation effect of emotional intelligence(β=0.095,95%CI:0.069-0.142),and the indirect mediation effect accounted for 36.54%of the total effect.Conclusion Guangzhou area hemodialysis nurses subjective well-being is in upper level,and emotional intelligence in hemodialysis nurses social support and subjective happiness plays intermediary effect,managers should focus on hemodialysis nurses emotional intelligence,take various measures to improve their emotional intelligence level,enhance social support,so as to improve hemodialysis nurses subjective well-being.

Objective: To understand physical health of pre school children aged 3-6, so as to analyze the early life influencing factors, and to provide a reference for physical health promotion of preschool children. Methods: The method of random sampling was used to select 1 580 preschoolers aged from 3-6 in Guangzhou. National physical health test and questionnaire survey were conducted to assess physical health. Results: The physical fitness pass rate of preschool children was 87.2%, among which the excellent rate was 30.8%. With the increase of age, the rate of good physique of both boys and girls increased. There were statistical differences in body shape indexes (except dermal fold thickness) between male and female children at all ages ( P <0.01). The rate of overweight and obesity was 14.7%, which was higher in boys (17.2%) than in girls (12.0%). There were significant differences between overweight and non overweight obese people( χ 2=4.84，3.96，5.73，4.85， P <0.05). Logistic regression showed that preterm birth was negatively correlated with the rate of good physique of preschool children ( OR=0.81, P <0.05). There was a positive correlation between birth weight greater than gestational age and the rate of physical fitness of preschool children ( OR=1.37, P <0.05). Conclusion Preschool children aged 3-6 years old in Guangzhou have poor physical health overall, and the rate of good physical health is related to factors such as preterm gestational week in early life delivery and birth weight greater than the gestational age.

Objective:To describe the current situation on quit intention and quit attempts among current smokers aged 15 years and above in China and explore the main factors affecting their smoking cessation behaviors.Methods:The subjects were people aged 15 years and above in China. A stratified multi-phased randomized cluster sampling method was used. The survey covered 200 districts/counties in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government), including 19 376 people under investigation. The data were weighted with SAS 9.4 for complex sampling analysis, and the frequency and weighted component ratio were used for description. The influencing factors were studied using the Rao Scott χ2 test and unconditional multivariate logistic regression. Results:Among current smokers, 6.63% reported that they planned to quit smoking in the next month, 5.44% for men and 8.49% for women. 17.96% of the current smokers made quit attempts in the past 12 months, with 17.80% men and 22.15% women. People who smoke occasionally ( OR=3.42, 95% CI: 2.09-5.59) made quit attempts in the past ( OR=4.91, 95% CI: 0.33-0.52) and knew that smoking would lead to three diseases ( OR=2.24, 95% CI: 1.48-3.40) had higher quit intention. People who occasionally smoke ( OR=1.68, 95% CI: 1.20-2.34) received smoking cessation suggestions from medical staff ( OR=1.96, 95% CI: 1.62-2.37), were a ware of that smoking causes three diseases ( OR=1.63, 95% CI: 1.32-2.02) and had smoking prohibition regulations in indoor areas of their homes, had a higher rate of quit attempts. Conclusion:Providing effective smoking cessation intervention services and creating a supportive tobacco control environment are significant in promoting smoking cessation behavior.

Objective:To investigate secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure among non-current smokers aged 15 and over and its influencing factors in China in 2010 and 2018.Methods:The 2010 and 2018 China Adult Tobacco Surveys used multistage stratified cluster random sampling methods to obtain national representative samples across 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China. This study selected non-current smokers aged 15 and over as the research subjects to describe the general demographic characteristics, perceptions of SHS hazards, attitudes towards smoking bans in indoor areas in public places, and SHS exposure and the smoking restriction regulations in different places. The Rao-Scott χ2 test was used to compare the rates, and the unconditional logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of SHS exposure. All the subjects in the analysis were weighted based on a complex sampling design. Results:Among non-current smokers aged 15 and over, from 2010 to 2018, the percentage of indoor smokers had decreased from 84.7% to 71.9%. The rates of people who saw smoking in various places declined with a statistically significant difference ( P<0.001). The exposure to SHS for females, people aged 45-64, teachers, medical staff, workers in enterprises, businesses, waiters, and people who live in rural and central areas declined. The differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). In 2018, the percentage of SHS exposure for those who reported a comprehensive smoking ban in households or allowed smoking in certain areas was lower than for those who reported allowed or without a smoking ban. Among those aged 25-44, SHS exposure for those who reported complete smoking prohibition in workplaces was lower than those who reported allowed or without smoking prohibition ( OR=0.65, 95% CI: 0.49-0.87). The proportion of SHS exposure for those who believe that smoking should not be allowed in indoor areas of 0-5 public places is higher than that smoking should not be allowed in the indoor spaces of 8 public places ( OR=2.13, 95% CI: 1.35-3.36). Among people aged 45-64, the proportions of SHS exposure for teachers ( OR=0.37, 95% CI: 0.17-0.78) and medical staff ( OR=0.35, 95% CI: 0.16-0.76) and staff working in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, and water conservancy were lower than governmental staff ( OR=0.49, 95% CI: 0.29-0.84). Conclusions:Data from the decreased exposure of Chinese non-current smokers aged 15 and over to SHS suggests the initial achievement through constructing a smoke-free environment, but continued efforts are needed. It is necessary to actively advocate for smoke-free families, strengthen publicity and education on the hazards of tobacco and SHS, and improve the skills of non-smokers in rejecting SHS exposure.
