Objective:To understand the characteristics of faculty in high-level public health schools in China, and analyze the differences in age, area and school level.Methods:Based on the internet information, the faculty information of 18 high-level public health schools was collected for a descriptive analysis on faculty characteristics.Results:There were 1 642 faculty members in the schools of public health in China, in whom 51.8% were women, 92.8% had doctorate, 32.4% had postdoctoral experience and 56.8% were former students staying to teach. The average age of the faculty members was (45.6±9.8) years. Meanwhile the top three study subjects were epidemiology and health statistics (31.0%), occupational health and environmental sanitation (16.5%), and health toxicology (16.3%). In the faculty members aged >40 years, 90.2% had doctorate, 62.6% were former students staying to teach, and 24.7% had no educational background of public health. The proportions of faculty members aged ≤40 years in the three groups mentioned above were 98.2%, 45.8% and 39.1% respectively. In terms of study subject, big data study were mainly conducted in the schools with top subject ranking and the schools in developed areas.Conclusions:The public health faculty was characterized by cross education background and high capability. The study subjects and sub-disciplines varied with schools and areas.

Objective To investigate the correlation between WT1,BCR-ABL genes and interleukin-6(IL-6),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),plasma protein C(PC),plasma protein S(PS)in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms(MPN).Methods A total of 54 MPN patients treated in this hospital from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the MPN group,and 54 healthy subjects undergoing physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group.The gene relative expression levels of WT1,BCR-ABL and levels of IL-6,VEGF,PC,and PS were detected and compared between the two groups.The correlations between WT1,BCR-ABL gene relative expression levels and IL-6,VEGF,PC,PS levels were analyzed,and the diagnostic efficacy of WT1 and BCR-ABL genes for MPN was evaluated by receiver operat-ing characteristic(ROC)curve.Results Compared with the control group,the gene relative expression levels of WT1,BCR-ABL and the levels of IL-6 and VEGF in the MPN group were higher,while the levels of PC and PS were lower,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that WT1 and BCR-ABL gene relative expression levels were positively correlated with IL-6 and VEGF levels,and negatively correlated with PC and PS levels(P<0.05).The combined use of WT1 and BCR-ABL genes has higher diagnostic efficacy for MPN than single indicators,with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.833 and a sensitivity of 88.69%.Conclusion The relative expression levels of WT1 and BCR-ABL genes are correlated with IL-6,VEGF,PC,and PS levels in MPN patients.The combination of WT1 and BCR-ABL genes can effec-tively diagnose MPN.

The prevalence of allergic diseases is increasing year by year.The phenotype of allergic diseases changes in stages as children age，following an allergic march from atopic dermatitis，food allergy in infancy to allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma in school age.Common influences on the development of allergic diseases include genetics，environment，and diet.Reducing the risk of developing new allergic diseases during the allergic march is one of the goals of prevention.It has now been found that diet during pregnancy may affect the foetal immune response，and that the early addition of complementary foods and increased dietary diversity may influence the development of allergic diseases in children.This article provides a review of the impact of dietary interventions early in life on the allergic march in children.

Objective To identify determinants affecting the implementation of outpatient mutual aid policy and propose evidence-based optimization strategies.Methods By utilizing the Horn-Mitton policy implementation framework,this article sys-tematically examined implementation barriers through multi-dimensional analysis.Results The implementation process was con-strained by multiple interacting factors:overly broad policy objectives,insufficient adoption of digital health technologies,shorta-ges of health insurance professionals,policy fragmentation due to lack of horizontal communication within organizations,an in-complete fiscal compensation mechanism,imbalance of cohesive policies,and limited public acceptance.These factors collective-ly hindered the advancement of outpatient mutual aid policy.Conclusion In order to improve the implementation efficacy,it is urgent to build robust digital monitoring platforms equipped with regulatory systems,establish multi-dimensional fiscal compensa-tion mechanisms,cooperate with a variety of policies to promote coordination,explore reform plans for employee health insurance payment fairness,unify the reimbursement level orientations,and construct differentiated reimbursement policy systems.

This study aims to investigate the function of lmo2363 gene in stress resistance of Liste-ria monocytogenes strain LM83-1.In this study,the lmo2363 gene deletion strain and complement-ation strain of Listeria monocytogenes were constructed using overlapping extended PCR and ho-mologous recombination techniques,and the growth ability,stress survival rate and biofilm forma-tion ability of wild,deletion strain and complementation strain were compared under different stress environments.lmo2363 gene deletion strain and complementation strain of Listeria monocy-togenes were successfully constructed in this experiment.The growth curves showed that the growth capacity of the deletion strain was weaker than the wild strain LM83-1 under 4 ℃,7％NaCl,10％NaCl,3.5％ethanol,4.0％ethanol and pH5 stress(P＜0.001).The results of stress survival test showed that the survival rate of the deletion strain was significantly lower than the wild strain after 1 h treatment with pH3 and 10 mmol/L H2 O2 stress(P＜0.010).The biofilm forming ability of the deletion strain was decreased compared with that of the wild strain(P＜0.050).This study confirmed that lmo2363 gene mediated the adaptation of LM to low temperature,high osmotic pressure,ethanol and acid stress environment and affected the formation of LM bio-film.This study laid a foundation for further exploring the function of lmo2363 gene in the stress resistance process of Listeria monocytogenes.

Objective:To analyze regional differences in MMACHC gene variations among patients with cblC-type methylmalonic acidemia (MMA) in China and to explore the relationship between these variations and neonatal screening, biochemical markers and prognosis.Methods:Retrospective case summary. Clinical and laboratory data, including general condition, biochemical markers and genetic analysis, were collected from 1 859 cblC MMA patients from 2005 to 2023. Patients were divided into 7 groups according to their regions: north China, northeast China, east China, central China, south China, southwest China and northwest China. They were also classified into neonatal screening and non-neonatal screening groups. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to compare biochemical marker levels. In contrast, the Chi-square test was applied to compare MMACHC gene variant frequencies, neonatal screening proportion, onset age and prognosis between groups. Results:Among 1 859 cases of cblC MMA, 1 019 were male and 840 were female, with a consultation age of 1.0 (0.1, 5.0) month. A total of 1 787 cases carried compound heterozygous or homozygous variants and only 1 variant site was identified in 72 cases. The 10 most frequent variants were c.609G>A (1 238 cases), c.658_660delAAG (343 cases), c.80A>G (284 cases), c.482G>A (239 cases), c.567dupT (191 cases), c.656_658delAGA (131 cases), c.217C>T (109 cases), c.394C>T (105 cases), c.445_446delTG (51 cases) and c.1A>G (50 cases). The frequency of the c.609G>A was the lowest in northwest China (28.8% (44/154), χ2=-18.42, P<0.05). The frequency of the c.567dupT was the most common in southwest China (25.0% (20/80), χ2=71.70, P<0.001) and c.656_658delAGA had the highest frequency in northeast China (9.3% (19/205), χ2=32.08, P<0.001). Non-missense variants (91.2% (62/68), 88.5% (46/52)) and early-onset patients (90.0% (36/40), 94.4% (34/36)) were both more prevalent in southwest and south China ( χ2=14.95, 31.69, both P<0.05). The proportion of neonatal screening was the lowest in south China (22.2% (8/36), χ2=98.48, P<0.05), where the mortality rate was the highest (19.1% (4/21), χ2=38.98, P<0.001). East China exhibited the highest frequency of missense variants (21.5% (339/1 579)), the highest proportion of patients identified through neonatal screening (54.5% (465/853)), and a more significant proportion of patients with good prognosis (36.6% (227/621), χ2=14.57, 93.49, 38.98, all P<0.05). In addition, the c.482G>A variant was more frequent in patients diagnosed by neonatal screening compared to those diagnosed by other methods (8.3% (132/1 586) vs. 5.9% (122/2 060), χ2=7.97, P<0.05). Conclusions:The frequency of MMACHC gene variation varies across different regions. The c.609G>A was least frequent in northwest China, c.567dupT was most common in southwest China, and c.656_658delAGA was most prevalent in northeast China. South China had the lowest neonatal screening rate and the highest mortality. At the same time, east China exhibited the highest frequency of missense variants, the highest proportion of patients identified through neonatal screening and the best prognosis. The c.482G>A variant was more frequent in patients diagnosed by neonatal screening compared to those diagnosed by other methods.

Background and Objectives: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common, frequently-occurring disease and poses a major health concern. Unfortunately, there is current no effective treatment for COPD, particularly emphysema. Recently, experimental treatment of COPD using mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) mainly focused on bone marrow-derived MSCs (BM-MSCs). Human umbilical cord-derived MSCs (hUC-MSCs) have more advantages compared to BM-MSCs. However, studies on the role of hUC-MSCs in management of COPD are limited. This study sought to explore the role of hUC-MSCs and its action mechanisms in a rat model of VEGF receptor blocker SU5416-injured emphysema. Methods: and Results: hUC-MSCs were characterized by immunophenotype and differentiation analysis. Rats were div-ided into four groups: Control, Control＋MSC, SU5416 and SU5416＋MSC. Rats in model group were administered with SU5416 for three weeks. At the end of the second week after SU5416 administration, model group were infused with 3×106 hUC-MSCs through tail vein. After 14 days from hUC-MSCs transplantation, rats were euthanized and data were analyzed. HE staining and mean linear intercepts showed that SU5416-treated rats exhibited typical emphysema while emphysematous changes in model rats after hUC-MSCs transplantation disappeared completely and were restored to normal phenotype. Furthermore, hUC-MSCs inhibited apoptosis as shown by TUNEL and Western blotting.ELISA and Western blotting showed hUC-MSCs rescued VEGF-VEGFR2-AKT pathway in emphysematous lungs. Conclusions The findings show that hUC-MSCs effectively repair the emphysema injury. This study provides the first evidence that hUC-MSCs inhibit apoptosis via rescuing VEGF- VEGFR2-AKT pathway in a rat model of emphysema.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of extensively hydrolyzed protein formula(eHF) in very low birth weight(VLBW) infants.Methods:A prospective controlled signal-center trial was conducted in this study, the preterm infants with gestational age of 28-33 weeks and birth weight of 999-1 500 g who were hospitalized at Department of Neonatology, Zhuhai Maternal Hospital within the first 12 hours between January and December 2018, were selected.They were assigned into breast feeding group(HM) and formula feeding group according to the mothers′ disease and parents′ breastfeeding willingness.The formula feeding group was assigned into eHF group and preterm formula (PF)group according to the parents′ breastfeeding willingness.The infants discharging or dead before achieving full feeding, discharging within 28 days after birth, with congenital malformation (complex congenital heart disease, digestive system malformation, etc) and severe sepsis were rolled out. Chi- square test and One- Way ANOVA were used for statistical analysis.Prospective study was conducted among the 3 groups comparing the incidence of feeding intolerance, duration of meconium discharge, the time to regain birth weight and reach full enteral feeding, average hospital stay, incidence of necrotizing enterocolitis of newborn(NEC), cholestasis and extrauterine growth retardation(EUGR), the growth rate of head circumference, length and weight in the first 4 weeks of life, and blood biochemical indices at the first 2 weeks and 4 weeks of life. Results:A total of 102 infants were enrolled, 35 cases in the eHF group, 37 cases in the PF group and 30 cases in the HM group.Compared with the PF group [54.0%(20/37 cases)], the eHF group[22.0%(8/35 cases)] and the HM group [16.7%(5/30 cases)] had lower incidence of feeding intolerance, and the differences were statistically significant( χ2=7.366, 9.901, all P<0.05). The time to regain birth weight[(8.9±1.8) d, (9.1±1.4) d vs.(10.8±2.9) d], time for achieving full enteral feeding [(42.8±2.8) d, (42.3±3.3) vs.(45.5±3.4) d], the duration of meconium discharge [(7.2±1.8) d, (6.6±1.8) d vs.(8.7±2.1) d], and average hospital stay [(52.9±1.1) d, (52.3±1.2) d vs.(54.1±1.2) d]in the eHF group and HM group were shorter than those in PF group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05); and there was no statistically significant difference between the eHF group and the HM group(all P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of incidence of NEC, cholestasis and EUGR, the growth rate of head circumfe-rence, length and weight in the first 4 weeks of life, the serum albumin, creatinine, urea nitrogen at first 2 weeks and 4 weeks of life among the 3 groups (all P>0.05). Compared with the PF group, the serum total bilirubin levels in the eHF group and the HM group were lower at 2 weeks [(109.4± 4.6) μmol/L, (110.2±1.0) μmol/L vs.(115.0±7.6) μmol/L]and 4 weeks after birth[(79.3±9.7) μmol/L, (80.0±1.7) μmol/L vs.(81.5±8.4)μmol/L], and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05), but no statistically significant difference was found between the eHF goup and the HM group(all P>0.05). Conclusions:For VLBW infants, eHF can reduce feeding intole-rance, promote defecation, achieve full feeding faster, promote bilirubin metabolism, shorten hospital stay, does not affect growth and development in short-term.
