Objective To explore the effect of the horticultural therapy in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in elderly care institutions.Methods A convenient cluster sampling method was used.The study was conducted among the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in 2 nursing homes with 5A-level in Guangzhou,from March to September 2024.Using a lottery method,subjects from 2 nursing areas across 2 elderly care institutions were allocated to an experimental group,with the other 2 nursing areas serving as a control group,each group comprising 55 cases.The experimental group participated in horticultural therapy on the basis of control group interventions,while the control group was given routine care and daily leisure activities.The cognitive function,basic psychological needs and quality of life were compared between the 2 groups after the intervention.Results Eventually,37 cases in the experimental group and 38 cases in the control group completed the study.After the intervention,the cognitive function,basic psychological needs and quality of life in the experimental group were all better than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The horticultural therapy program can delay the progression of cognitive decline in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in nursing homes,meet their basic psychological needs and improve their quality of life.

Objective: To investigate the effects of poor sitting postures on muscle fatigue in schoolage children, so as to provide evidence for developing healthy sitting guidelines. Methods: In May 2024,30 children aged 6-12 were recruited from Changping District in Beijing. A combination of surface electromyography (sEMG) and psychophysical scales were used to assess muscle fatigue at varying deviation angles under four sitting postures (forward head tilt, lateral head tilt, uneven shoulder height, and forward trunk inclination). Oneway ANOVA and LSD post hoc multiple comparisons were employed to analyze the differences in electromyographic (EMG) data among various deviation angles under different sitting postures. Results: The mean integrated electromyography (IEMG) of representative muscles showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05) across deviation angles in all postures, with muscle fatigue worsening as deviation angles increased. Forward head tilt:significant IEMG differences were observed in the left/right sternocleidomastoid and left/right splenius capitis (F=13.74, 13.21, 5.43, 6.11,P<0.05). Lateral head tilt:significant differences were found in the right sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM), right splenius capitis, and left trapezius (F=5.13, 4.73, 12.13, P<0.05). Uneven shoulder height:significant differences occurred in the right SCM, bilateral splenius capitis, and left trapezius (F=12.46, 12.56, 32.49, 5.98, P<0.05).Forward trunk inclination, significant differences were identified in the left/right SCM, left/right splenius capitis, and left/right lumbar muscles (F=4.45, 9.84, 14.49, 26.44, 8.02, 18.34, P<0.01). Temporal analysis revealed varying fatigue onset times across postures:severe fatigue occurred earlier in lateral head tilt and forward trunk inclination, while excessive forward head tilt, lateral head tilt, and uneven shoulder postures predominantly induced mild to moderate fatigue. Conclusions Under different sitting postures, both the integrated IEMG of relevant muscles and subjective evaluations in schoolaged children increase with greater postural deviattion. Head tilt and trunkleaning postures require particular intervention, with emphasis on unevenshoulder alignment and trunk inclination control.

Objective:To investigate the effect of DExH-box helicase 9(DHX9)O-linked N-acetylglucosamine(O-GlcNAc)modifi-cation(O-GlcNAcylation)on the proliferation of hepatitis B virus(HBV)-associated hepatoma cells.Methods:The pAdTrack-TO4-DHX9-3Flag recombinant adenovirus plasmid was constructed by molecular cloning and transfected into HEK293 cells for packaging and amplification of the recombinant adenovirus AdDHX9.The interaction between DHX9 and O-GlcNAc transferase(OGT)was con-firmed using co-immunoprecipitation.The co-localization between DHX9 and OGT was measured by immunofluorescence.The level of DHX9 O-GlcNAcylation was determined using succinylated wheat germ agglutinin(sWGA)and glycosylated immunoprecipitation(IP).The effect of DHX9 O-GlcNAcylation on the proliferation of HBV-associated hepatoma cells was assessed using the colony-forming assay and cell growth curves.Results:The recombinant adenovirus AdDHX9 was successfully obtained,and DHX9 expression was confirmed by Western blot.DHX9 interacted with OGT,and the two proteins were co-localized on the nucleus.The sWGA and gly-cosylated IP experiments showed that DHX9 underwent O-GlcNAcylation,which was further enhanced by HBV infection.The colony-forming assay demonstrated that the number of cell clones was increased in the AdDHX9 group(386.667±15.630)compared with the AdGFP control group(142.667±7.572,P<0.001).Moreover,cell growth curves demonstrated that the overall cell growth rate was en-hanced in the AdDHX9 group(22.860±0.770)compared with the AdGFP control group(13.670±0.517,P<0.001).Conclusion:HBV infection promotes DHX9 O-GlcNAcylation,which enhances the proliferation of HBV-associated hepatoma cells.

Objective:To investigate the effect and safety of the double-cross dressing technique for composite rhytidectomy.Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed on a total of 121 patients with face and neck ageing, who were admitted to the Facial and Neck Plastic Surgery Center, the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from June 2020 to May 2023, all female with the age ranged 34-72 years old. All the patients underwent a full facial and neck composite rhytidectomy. Immediately after surgery, a double-cross bandaging was applied. The cotton pad was nested on the outer auricle, so that the front of the ear and the back of the ear were the first cross. This cross aimed to accurately pressurized the temporal, buccal region and postauricle flap. The second cross occurred at the radix. It secured composite tissue flap at the zygomatic arch and the buccal fat pad zone. Patient′s external auricle was not compressed after bandaging. The healing and the occurrence of complications were observed.Results:All the patients were satisfied with the comfort of the bandaging, the satisfied rate was 100% (121/121). All the patients had different degrees of periocular and perioral swelling 72 hours after surgery. Conjunctival edema and xanthochromia occurred in 30 patients, and oral mucosal congestion occurred in 25 patients, all of which were spontaneously resolved 2-4 weeks after surgery. Postoperative nursing was easily managed. There were no events such as dressing loosening, blocked draining tubes, and difficulty in replacing tubes. All the patients were followed up for 3-12 months after surgery, the flap in the postauricular area of all patients healed well, and there were no adverse complications such as wound infection, necrosis of the flap in the operative area, and delayed healing of the incision.Conclusion:The double-cross bandaging technique achieves the comfort bandaging and good protection of the face, which is safe and effective.

Objective:To investigate the relationship between oxidative stress-related genes and pros-tate cancer(PCa)from a multi-omics perspective using summary-data-based Mendelian randomization(SMR),colocalization analysis,and cellular experiments.Methods:Summary-level data on DNA methylation,gene expression,and circulating proteins were obtained and filtered.The PRACTICAL con-sortium was used as the discovery cohort,with the deCODE database serving as the validation cohort.SMR analysis and heterogeneity in dependent instruments(HEIDI)tests were conducted to assess the association and heterogeneity between oxidative stress-related genes and PCa.Colocalization analysis was performed to determine whether oxidative stress-related genes and PCa shared common causal variants.Final-ly,CCK-8 assays,wound healing assays,and Transwell invasion assays and Western blotting,were con-ducted to examine the effects of oxidative stress-related genes on the biological behavior of the PCa cell line C4-2.Results:Multi-omics analysis identified SCP2 as significantly associated with increased PCa risk across gene methylation,gene expression,and circulating protein levels.GSTP1 showed significant associations at the methylation and protein levels,while LPO was associated at the protein level.At the methylation level,SCP2 sites cg00581603(OR=1.11,95％CI:1.05-1.17)and cg13078931(OR=1.12,95％CI:1.05-1.18)were identified as pathogenic.Among the four methylation sites in GSTP1,only cg05244766(OR=0.89,95％CI:0.84-0.95)was considered protective.At the gene expression level,SCP2(OR=1.05,95％CI:1.02-1.07)was also found to be a pathogenic factor.At the circu-lating protein level,SCP2(OR=2.10,95％CI:1.34-3.29)showed a consistent pathogenic trend.In addition,GSTP1(OR=1.16,95％CI:1.07-1.25)and LPO(OR=1.12,95％CI:1.05-1.19)were significantly associated with increased PCa risk.Further functional assays demonstrated that knock-down of SCP2 significantly reduced the oncogenic phenotype of prostate cancer cells.Conclusion:Through integrated multi-omics analysis and experimental validation,this study confirmed a significant as-sociation between SCP2 and increased PCa risk.These findings enhance our understanding of PCa patho-genesis and provide new potential targets and therapeutic directions for PCa treatment.

Objective To investigate the effects and underlying mechanisms of microRNA (miR)-34a on isoflurane anesthesia-induced cognitive dysfunction in aged rats. Methods Forty rats at 20 months of age were randomly divided into control (Con) group, model group, miR-34a inhibitor group and miR-34a mimics group, with 10 rats in each group. Rats in the miR-34a inhibitor and miR-34a mimics groups received a tail vein injection of 100 nmoL/kg of the corresponding drug, while those in the Con and model groups received an equal volume of saline, once daily for 5 consecutive days. At the 6th day, all groups except the Con group underwent a single 6-hour isoflurane anesthesia to establish a postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) model. Twelve hours after modeling, the Morris water maze test was used to assess the escape latency and time spent in the target quadrant. Immunofluorescence staining was performed to observe the positive expression rate of ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 (Iba-1) in the hippocampal tissue. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to measure the relative expression levels of miR-34a, B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) and Bcl-2-associated X-protein (Bax) mRNA in the hippocampal tissue. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was conducted to detect serum levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), reactive oxygen species (ROS) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), as well as the content of glutamate (Glu), Ca²⁺ and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor 2B (NMDAR2B) in the hippocampal tissue. Western blotting was used to determine the relative expression levels of calcium-calmodulin-dependent protein kinase Ⅱ (CaMKⅡ), phosphorylated CaMKⅡ (pCaMKⅡ), cyclophosphoadenosine effector-binding protein (CREB), and phosphorylated CREB (pCREB) in the hippocampal tissue. Results Compared with the Con group, the Model group exhibited significantly prolonged escape latency, elevated serum levels of IL-6 and IL-1β and ROS, as well as increased positive expression rate of Iba-1, relative expression levels of miR-34a and Bax mRNA, contents of Glu, Ca²⁺ and NMDAR2B in the hippocampal tissue; in contrast, the time spent in the target quadrant, serum GSH-Px levels, Bcl-2 mRNA relative expression levels, Bcl-2/Bax, as well as pCaMKⅡ/CaMKⅡ and pCREB/CREB in the hippocampal tissue were significantly reduced (P < 0.05). Downregulation of miR-34a expression shortened the escape latency and decreased serum levels of IL-6, IL-1β and ROS, as well as Iba-1 positive expression rate, relative expression levels of miR-34a and Bax mRNA, Glu, Ca²⁺ and NMDAR2B content in the hippocampal tissue (P < 0.05). It also extended the time spent in the target quadrant and increased serum GSH-Px levels, Bcl-2 mRNA expression levels, Bcl-2/Bax, as well as pCaMKⅡ/CaMKⅡ and pCREB/CREB in the hippocampal tissue (P < 0.05). Upregulation of miR-34a expression promoted abnormal activation of microglia, inflammation, oxidative stress and apoptosis, inhibited the activation of the CaMKⅡ/CREB signaling pathway, and exacerbated cognitive dysfunction in the model rats. Conclusion MiR-34a is highly expressed in POCD in aged rats. Inhibition of miR-34a expression can improve isoflurane anesthesia-induced cognitive dysfunction in aged rats by activating the CaMKⅡ/CREB signaling pathway.

Tumor cells use glycolysis to provide material and energy under hypoxic conditions to meet the energy requirements for rapid growth and proliferation， namely the Warburg effect. Even under aerobic conditions， tumor cells mainly rely on glycolysis to provide energy. Therefore， glucose transporter protein 1（GLUT1）， which is involved in the process of glucose metabolism， plays an important role in tumorigenesis， development and drug resistance， and is considered to be one of the important targets in the treatment of malignant tumors. In recent years， research on tumor glucose metabolism has gradually become a hot spot. It has been shown that various factors are involved in the regulation of tumor energy metabolism， among which the role of GLUT1 is the most critical. In this paper， the authors reviewed the latest research progress of GLUT1-targeted traditional Chinese medicine（TCM） active ingredient nano-delivery system in tumor therapy， aiming to reveal the feasibility and effectiveness of this system in the delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs. The GLUT1-targeted TCM active ingredient nano-delivery system can overcome the bottleneck of the traditional targeting strategy as well as the high-permeability long retention（EPR） effect. In summary， the authors believe that the GLUT1-targeted TCM active ingredient nano-delivery system provides a new strategy for targeted treatment of tumors and has a broad application prospect in tumor prevention and treatment.
