Ecoflex is a commercial designation for elastomers developed based on the principles of environmental sustainability and flexibility. Various manufacturers offer different types of Ecoflex products with distinct compositions and functions. Among these, the platinum-catalyzed silicone rubber Ecoflex series has demonstrated considerable applicability in various fields of oral medicine due to its excellent flexibility, biocompatibility, stability across a wide temperature range, and tunable mechanical properties. In tissue engineering, it can simulate the mechanical behavior of oral mucosa, and is used in cleft lip surgical training models and preoperative evaluation for temporal bone defect reconstruction. In the field of wearable devices, leveraging its encapsulation protection and flexible characteristics, highly sensitive sensors constructed from Ecoflex can monitor signals such as oral bite force and masticatory muscle activity, thereby aiding in the diagnosis of temporomandibular joint disorders and postoperative evaluation of cleft lip and palate. Moreover, when combined with bio-waste materials, it promotes the functionalization and sustainability of oral wearable devices.In drug delivery systems, its conformability and controlled-release capability address challenges in localized oral drug administration. Designs such as flexible microneedles and temperature-responsive composite systems provide precise solutions for treating periodontitis and oral ulcers. In minimally invasive surgical instruments, its softness enables the development of soft robots and magnetically controlled microfluidic valves, enhancing surgical safety and precision. In the field of oral rehabilitation, Ecoflex soft liner materials, inspired by the suction cup structure of octopus tentacles, improve denture retention. Their low modulus reduces mucosal irritation, ensuring both comfort and durability. Although Ecoflex shows great potential in biomedical applications, it still faces certain challenges, particularly regarding long-term stability after implantation, mechanical fatigue resistance, and microbial colonization, which require further investigation. In the future, with advancements in 3D printing technology, Ecoflex is expected to achieve more precise clinical translation across multiple fields and drive innovation in intelligent biomaterials.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Yiqi Huoxue Prescription(derived from Shengyu Decoction)in the treatment of mild cervical spondylotic myelopathy(CSM)with qi deficiency and blood stasis type.Methods A total of 128 patients with mild CSM of qi deficiency and blood stasis type who admitted to Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to January 2024 were randomly divided into the control group and the trial group according to the random number table method,with 64 cases in each group.The control group was treated with oral administration of Mecobalamin Tablets,and the trial group was treated with Yiqi Huoxue Prescription orally on the basis of treatment for the control group.The two groups were all treated for four weeks,and then were followed up for three months after the completion of treatment.The CSM scores of the Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)and the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores in the two groups were observed before treatment,after two weeks of treatment,after four weeks of treatment,and three months after the completion of treatment.And then the clinical efficacy,progression of CSM and the incidence of adverse reactions of the two groups were evaluated.Results(1)During the trial,two cases in the control group and three cases in the trial group fell off,and eventually a total of 123 cases were included,62 cases in the control group and 61 cases in the trial group.(2)Three months after the completion of treatment,the total effective rate of the trial group was 93.44%(57/61)and that of the control group was 82.26%(51/62),and the intergroup comparison(tested by chi-square test)showed that the efficacy of the trial group was significantly superior to that of the control group,the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)After two and four weeks of treatment as well as three months after the completion of treatment,JOA scores in the two groups were increased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and JOA scores of the trial group at various time points mentioned above were higher than those of the control group,the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).(4)After two and four weeks of treatment as well as three months after the completion of treatment,TCM syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and TCM syndrome scores of the trial group at various time points mentioned above were lower than those of the control group,the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).(5)During the follow-up period,there was none case of significant aggravation or progression to moderate-severe illness in the two groups,and there were no adverse events such as allergies and gastrointestinal reactions.Conclusion Yiqi Huoxue Prescription exerts certain efficacy in treating patients with mild CSM of the qi deficiency and blood stasis type,and the treatment method is effective on improving the spinal cord function and symptoms of qi deficiency and blood stasis type,and slowing down the progression of disease in the patients,with high safety.

Objective: To evaluate the application of blood conservation measures in obstetric patients with different red blood cell transfusion volumes and to assess the impact of different transfusion volumes on postpartum outcomes. Methods: A retrospective investigation was conducted on 448 obstetric patients who received blood transfusions at the Shanghai General Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January 2016 to December 2022. Patients were divided into four groups (1-2 units group, 3-4 units group, 5-6 units group, and >6 units group) based on the volumes of red blood cells (RBCs) transfused during and within 7 days after delivery. The maternal physiological indicators, pre- and postpartum laboratory test indicators, obstetric complications, application of blood conservation measures, use of blood products, and postpartum outcomes were reviewed. The clinical characteristics, application of blood conservation measures, and their impact on postpartum outcomes were compared among different transfusion groups. Results: There were statistically significant differences in the multivariate logistic analysis of history of previous cesarean section (OR=1.781), eclampsia/pre-eclampsia/(OR=1.972) and postpartum blood loss>1 000 mL（OR=1.699）(P<0.05) among different transfusion groups. In terms of blood conservation measures, the more RBCs transfused, the higher the rate of mothers receiving blood conservation measures such as balloon occlusion, arterial ligation, autologous blood transfusion with a cell saver, and hysterectomy. With the increase in the volume of RBCs transfusion, the demand for fresh frozen plasma（FFP）, cryoprecipitate, and platelet transfusions also increased. The hospitalization days for the four groups of parturients were 6.0 (4.0-9.0), 7.5 (5.0-14.8), 7.0 (4.5-13.0) and 11.0 (9.0-20.5), respectively (P<0.05) and the rates of ICU transfer were 2.0% (5/250), 9.4% (12/128),18.2% (6/33) and 51.4% (19/37), respectively (P<0.05). Both increased significantly with the increase in the volume of RBCs transfusion, and the differences between groups were statistically significant. Conclusion: Parturients who received higher volume of RBCs had multiple risks factors for bleeding before childbirth, had higher postpartum blood loss, and had a higher rate of application of various blood conservation measures. In addition, an increase in the volume of RBCs transfusion may have adverse effects on postpartum recovery.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of Dengue virus (DENV) infection among voluntary blood donors in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, and to evaluate the necessity of implementing nucleic acid testing (NAT) for blood donors during the rainy season (May-October). Methods: Prior to initiating donor screening, the Xishuangbanna Central Blood Center conducted in-house validation of reagent performance and participated in external quality assessment (EQA) organized by the National Center for Clinical Laboratories (NCCL). During the surveillance period (August-October 2024), a total of 2 919 donor samples were screened using a 6-sample mini-pool NAT strategy. Daily internal quality controls were recorded. Samples that tested positive in pooled screening were deconvoluted and retested in duplicate; only those reactive in both replicate wells were sent to the NCCL for confirmatory testing. At NCCL, samples underwent re-testing using five domestic NAT reagents, as well as serological assays for NS1 antigen and DENV-specific IgG/IgM. Confirmed positive samples were further characterized by serotyping, envelope (E) gene sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis using the maximum likelihood method. Results: The DENV NAT reagent demonstrated consistent detection of 40 copies/mL controls in individual donor (ID)-NAT test (mean CT: 35.61±0.40). During the 63-day quality control monitoring, DENV detection remained stable (mean CT: 22.53±0.72). The center achieved full marks in EQA assessments for 2023 and 2024. Three reactive pools were identified in initial screening, and subsequent individual testing confirmed three DENV RNA-positive donors (sample numbers: 2401, 2402, and 2403). The confirmatory test results from NCCL were: all five NAT platforms consistently detected DENV RNA in the three samples; for serological tests, 2 samples (2402, 2403) were positive for NS1 antigen, while all three samples were negative for both IgG and IgM antibodies. DENV serotyping reagents identified DENV-2 in all cases, which were further confirmed as DENV-2 Genotype Ⅱ-Cosmopolitan by E gene sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that samples 2401 and 2402 clustered with Southeast Asian strains (Thailand/MZ636802.1, Laos/PQ775621.1), while sample 2403 closely matched a previously reported local Yunnan strain (PV544686.1). Conclusion: DENV-2 infection was detected among blood donors in Xishuangbanna during the rainy season, indicating concurrent risks of imported and local transmission. We recommend implementing pooled NAT screening for blood donors in high-risk areas during dengue epidemic seasons, along with strengthened laboratory quality control, to enhance blood safety.

OBJECTIVE To study the inhibitory effect of ethyl acetate extract from Mimosa pudica root （ethyl acetate extract for short） on acute myeloid leukemia in mice. METHODS Different concentrations of ethyl acetate extract （0.062 5， 0.125， 0.25， 0.5 mg/mL） were used to treat acute myelomonocytic leukemia cell lines WEHI-3， and their effects on cell viability were investigated. Fifty BALB/C mice were randomly divided into blank control group， model group， positive control group （5- fluorouracil， 13 mg/kg）， and ethyl acetate extract low-dose and high-dose groups （50， 200 mg/kg）， with 10 mice in each group. Except for the blank control group， the leukemia model was constructed by intraperitoneal injection of WEHI-3 cells in other groups， and from the second day of modeling， corresponding drugs/water were orally administered once a day for 14 consecutive days. After the last administration， the liver and spleen indexes of mice were measured， and liver tissue pathological morphology observation， hematological analysis， and white blood cell differentiation detection were performed； the levels of cytokine [interleukin-2 （IL-2）， IL-3， interferon-γ （IFN-γ）， tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）] in serum were determined； the levels of leukocyte surface markers [cluster of differentiation 3 （CD3）， CD19， CD11b， CD107b （Mac-3）] in whole blood were all detected. RESULTS After treated with 0.062 5-0.5 mg/mL ethyl acetate， the inhibition rate of cell proliferation were increased significantly （P＜0.05）. After intervention with high-dose ethyl acetate， the liver and spleen index， serum level of TNF-α， the levels of CD11b and Mac-3 in blood were significantly reduced （P＜0.05）， while serum levels of IL-2， IL-3 and IFN-γ， and the levels of CD3 and CD19 in blood were increased significantly （P＜0.05）. Occasional lymphocyte infiltration was present in the liver parenchyma， with almost no infiltration of inflammatory cells； hematology improvement and weakened white blood cell differentiation were found. CONCLUSIONS The ethyl acetate extract of M. pudica root can inhibit the proliferation of WEHI-cells， and improve symptoms in acute myeloid leukemia mice， the mechanism of which may be associated with enhancing the immune function.

[摘 要] 目的：研究芳香烃受体（AHR）在乳腺癌中的表达及其对乳腺癌细胞增殖、凋亡和药物敏感性的调控机制。方法：通过GEPIA数据库数据分析乳腺癌组织及癌旁组织中AHR的表达水平，探讨其与患者生存期的关联。利用基因敲低和过表达技术构建AHR表达变化的乳腺癌细胞，采用CCK-8实验、细胞计数和流式细胞分析等方法评估AHR对细胞增殖、凋亡和药物敏感性的影响，通过免疫印迹法验证相关分子机制。此外，利用AHR激动剂6-甲酰基吲哚并[3,2-B]咔唑（FICZ）研究外源性激活AHR对乳腺癌细胞多柔比星（DOX）敏感性的影响。结果：GEPIA数据库数据分析结果显示，乳腺癌组织中AHR呈明显低表达（P < 0.05）；对155例乳腺癌患者的生存期进行统计分析也显示AHR低表达与不良预后呈正相关（P < 0.05）。敲低AHR促进细胞增殖（P < 0.05），过表达则能抑制其增殖（P < 0.05）并促进其凋亡（P < 0.05）。外源激活AHR能增强乳腺癌细胞对DOX的敏感性（P < 0.05）。AHR可与MYC基因启动子结合，抑制MYC表达（P < 0.05），从而影响乳腺癌的进展。结论：AHR在乳腺癌中通过调控MYC表达影响细胞增殖和凋亡，外源激活AHR可能成为提高乳腺癌细胞对DOX敏感性的治疗策略。

Objective:To assess the effectiveness of a 6-month Ba Duan Jin exercise program in improving the balance of community-dwelling older adults.Methods:A two arms, parallel-group, cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted in 1 028 community residents aged 60-80 years in 40 communities in 5 provinces of China. Participants in the intervention group (20 communities, 523 people) received Ba Duan Jin exercise 5 days/week, 1 hour/day for 6 months, and three times of falls prevention health education, and the control group (20 communities, 505 people) received falls prevention health education same as the intervention group. The Berg balance scale (BBS) score was the leading outcome indicator, and the secondary outcome indicators included the length of time of standing on one foot (with eyes open and closed), standing in a tandem stance (with eyes open and closed), the closed circle test, and the timed up to test.Results:A total of 1 028 participants were included in the final analysis, including 731 women (71.11%) and 297 men (28.89%), and the age was (69.87±5.67) years. After the 3-month intervention, compared with the baseline data, the BBS score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group by 3.05 (95% CI: 2.23-3.88) points ( P<0.001). After the 6-month intervention, compared with the baseline data, the BBS score of the intervention group was significantly higher than the control group by 4.70 (95% CI: 4.03-5.37) points ( P<0.001). Ba Duan Jin showed significant improvement ( P<0.05) in all secondary outcomes after 6 months of exercise in the intervention group compared with the control group. Conclusions:This study showed that Ba Duan Jin exercise can improve balance in community-dwelling older adults aged 60-80. The longer the exercise time, the better the improvement.

Objective:To explore the predictive effect of European treatment and outcome study long term survival (ELTS) score on survival outcomes in chronic myeloid leukemia of chronic phase (CML-CP) children.Methods:A single-center retrospective cohort study was conducted. Clinical data of 216 children with CML-CP in Peking University People′s Hospital from January 2010 to December 2023 were analyzed. Children were divided into low, intermediate and high-risk groups according to ELTS score. The survival outcomes and prognostic factors were analyzed. Kaplan-Meier method and Log-Rank test were used for survival analysis.Cox regression model was applied for analysis of prognostic factors.Results:Among the 216 children with CML-CP, there were 122 males and 94 females, with the diagnosis age of 11.0 (8.0, 14.7) years. The follow-up time was 77 (57, 99) months. According to ELTS score, 145, 52, and 19 children were classified as low, intermediate and high-risk group. For the low-risk and intermediate/high-risk groups, the 6-year failure-free survival (FFS) rates were (83.0±3.1)% and (64.6±5.7)%, the 6-year progression-free survival (PFS) rates were (91.4±2.3)% and (78.7±4.8)%, and the 6-year event-free survival (EFS) rates were (80.8±3.3)% and (64.2±5.7)%, with statistically significant difference ( χ2=9.45, 7.16, 7.40, P=0.002, 0.007, 0.007), respectively.The 6-year overall survival (OS) rates were (98.5±1.0)% and (95.6±2.4)%, without statistically significant difference ( χ2=0.35, P=0.550). Multivariate analysis showed that ELTS score was an independent prognostic factor or tendency for FFS ( HR=1.97, 95% CI 1.11-3.49), PFS ( HR=2.95, 95% CI 1.18-7.39), and no independent prognostic factor for EFS and OS were found. Conclusions:ELTS score at diagnosis can help stratify the risk of children with CML-CP. The children in intermediate/high-risk group are more likely to have treatment failure, disease progression than those in low-risk group, but the predictive ability of ELTS score for OS is limited.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of electromagnetic guidance and bedside ultrasound in the placement of nasointestinal feeding tubes in neurocritical care patients,providing a reference for nurses to accurately and efficiently place tubes at the bedside. Methods A tatal of 85 patients were selected as the study subjects,who required nasoenteric tube placement and treated in the department of neurocritical care unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2023 to June 2023. Patients were randomly divided into an experimental group (43 cases) and a control group (42 cases) using a random number table. The experimental group used electromagnetic guidance-assisted nasointestinal tube placement,while the control group utilized bedside ultrasound technology. The differences in the success rate of one-time tube placement,placement time,and complications between the two groups were compared. Results The success rate of one-time tube placement in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group[97.67％ (42/43) vs. 95.24％ (40/42)],but the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The placement time in the experimental group was significantly reduced compared to the control group (minutes:16.23±3.06 vs. 25.07±3.26,P<0.05),and the number of positioning attempts was significantly fewer[attempts:1 (1,3) vs. 3 (3,4),P<0.05]. Scores for theoretical knowledge,operational practice,placement preparation,catheter position visualization,and catheter position interpretation in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group[theoretical knowledge score:2.67±0.52 vs. 4.67±0.52,operational practice score:2.50±0.55 vs. 5.00±0.00,placement preparation score:2.33 (2.00,3.00) vs. 3.00 (2.00,4.00),catheter position visualization score:1.83±0.41 vs. 4.83±0.41,catheter position interpretation score:1.83±0.41 vs. 3.83±0.41,all P<0.05]. The technical difficulty score was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (11.17±0.75 vs. 21.33±0.82,P<0.05). The incidence of nasal bleeding complications in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group[6.98％ (3/43) vs. 23.81％ (10/42),P<0.05]. No other placement complications occurred in either group. Conclusions The success rates of one-time tube placement using electromagnetic navigation and bedside ultrasound for bedside placement of nasointestinal feeding tubes were comparable,but electromagnetic guidance offered higher efficiency and safety. It is suggested that bedside ultrasound be used for gastrointestinal evaluation before electromagnetic guidance-assisted tube placement to assist nurses in implementing personalized pre-placement preparations,thereby further increasing the success rate of tube placement.
