Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and changing trends of non suicidal self injury (NSSI) behaviors among middle school students in Jiading District of Shanghai, from 2015 to 2023, so as to provide a basis for the development of NSSI prevention and control measures among students. Methods: Using a stratified cluster random sampling method, a total of five times for Shanghai Adolescent Health Risk Behavior Surveys were conducted for every two years in Jiading District of Shanghai from 2015 to 2023. A total of 5 231 middle school students from junior high schools and senior high schools were selected for questionnaire surveys. Intergroup comparisons were performed using the x 2 test or the χ 2 trend test, and the JointPoint 5.0 software was used to analyze the changing trends, with the annual percent change (APC) used for evaluation. A binary Logistic regression model was employed to analyze the related factors of NSSI behavior among middle school students. Results: In 2023, the reported NSSI rate among middle school students in Jiading District was 14.2%. The rate was significantly higher among junior high school students (17.1%) than that among senior high school students (11.1%), and higher among females (19.2%) than that among males (10.0%) ( χ 2=10.04, 23.21, both P <0.01). From 2015 to 2023, the overall reported NSSI rate showed an increasing trend, rising from 8.6% in 2015 to 14.2% in 2023 ( χ 2 trend =22.25), with an APC of 6.64% ( t =3.49), and the APC for girls was 9.79 % ( t =3.20) (all P <0.05). Among students reporting NSSI, the proportion experiencing ≥6 episodes increased from 10.8% in 2015 to 19.2% in 2023 ( χ 2 trend =6.57, P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that girls, junior high school students, those with insomnia, depressive emotion and drinkers had higher risks of NSSI, compared to boys, senior high school students, those without insomnia, non depressive emotion students and non drinkers ( OR =1.71, 1.96, 3.44, 4.76, 1.77, all P < 0.05 ). Conclusions The reported rate of NSSI among middle school students in Jiading District of Shanghai, increased annually from 2015 to 2023, and the proportion of repeated NSSI also showed an upward trend. Early intervention measures targeting middle school students, especially junior high school students and females, should be implemented to prevent and control its occurrence and development.

Objective: To analyze the trajectory of dietary behaviors among middle school students in Jiading District, Shanghai, from 2021 to 2023, and longitudinally verify their association with anxiety and depression symptoms, aiming to provide scientific evidence for promoting the mental health of adolescents. Methods: The data were sourced from the National Monitoring and Intervention Project on Common Diseases and Health Impact Factors of students in Jiading District, Shanghai. A total of 1 217 middle school students who participated in at least two surveys from 2021 to 2023 were selected as the research objects, and group-based trajectory model was constructed to identify their dietary behavior scores trajectories. Modified Poisson regression was used to investigate the impact of dietary behavior scores trajectories on anxiety and depression, while Logistic regression was employed to explore the association between trajectories and changes in depression score levels. Results: The dietary behavior scores trajectories of middle school students were divided into three groups: Persistent Healthy Dietary Behavior (9.5%), Persistent Relatively Unhealthy Dietary Behavior (85.0%), and Persistent Very Unhealthy Dietary Behavior (5.5%). Students who perceived their academic performance as poor and whose parents had a cultural level of high school or below had a significantly lower proportion in the Persistent Healthy Dietary Behavior group compared to students with other characteristics ( χ 2=12.87, 8.69, 6.50, P <0.05). Compared with the Persistent Healthy Dietary Behavior group, the risk of anxiety symptoms in middle school students in the Persistent Very Unhealthy Dietary Behavior group was significantly increased ( aRR=3.04, 95%CI =1.15-8.02); Persistent Relatively Unhealthy Dietary Behavior and Persistent Very Unhealthy Dietary Behavior increased the risk of depressive symptoms ( aRR = 1.80 , 2.45, respectively), and were positively correlated with the increase in depression scores ( aOR =1.70, 2.24) ( P <0.05). Conclusions The dietary behavior of middle school students have not changed significantly in the past three years, with persistent unhealthy dietary behavior being the most common. Unhealthy dietary behaviors are positively correlated with the risk of anxiety and depressive symptoms and an increase in depression scores.

Objective: To investigate the current status of refractive errors and insufficient hyperopia reserve in preschool children aged 3-6 years in Hefei and to analyze influencing factors, so as to provide a scientific basis for formulating targeted myopia prevention policies and comprehensive interventions. Methods: In May 2022, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 897 preschool children from 8 kindergartens across four districts (Baohe, Yaohai, Shushan, and Economic and Technological Development Zone) in Hefei, and Children’s Visual Health related Behavior Assessment Scale was used to collect personal information and environmental factors. Pre and post cycloplegic refraction tests were conducted to assess insufficient hyperopic reserve and refractive development levels. Group comparisons were conducted using 2 test, t-test or analysis of variance. Multivariate regression analysis was performed to identify key factors influencing hyperopic reserve, axial length and spherical equivalent in preschool children. Results: The detection rates of refractive errors among preschool children were 6.8% for hyperopia, 1.6% for myopia, and 11.1% for astigmatism. Notably, the prevalence of myopia was significantly higher in boys (2.3%) than in girls (0.7%) ( χ 2=3.88, P <0.05). Additionally, 8.8% of the children exhibited insufficient hyperopic reserve. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that preschool children with high myopia in the father, high myopia in the mother, longer daily duration of near work, and longer daily electronic product use time had increased risks of axial growth ( β =0.12, 0.09, 0.15, 0.11), SE reduction ( β =-0.10, -0.07, -0.18, -0.13), and insufficient hyperopic reserve ( OR=1.87, 2.22, 1.40, 1.28) (P <0.05). While, preschool children with longer sleep time and daily outdoor activity duration had lower risks of axial growth ( β =-0.11, -0.10 ), SE reduction ( β =0.39, 0.51), and insufficient hyperopia reserve ( OR =0.54, 0.51) in preschool children ( P <0.05). Conclusions The rates of refractive errors and insufficient hyperopia reserve in preschool children in Hefei are relatively low, which are influenced by many factors. Parents, kindergartens and relevant departments should implement early vision monitoring and intervention for preschool children, and cultivate their scientific eye use habits.

ObjectiveTo observe the effectiveness and safety of modified Taohong Siwu Decoction （桃红四物汤） for patients of chronic heart failure with lower limb deep vein thrombosis in the chronic stage of blood stasis syndrome. MethodsA total of 120 patients of chronic heart failure with lower limb deep vein thrombosis in chronic stage of blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into 60 cases each in control group and observation group. Both groups were given basic treatment of western medicine， and the observation group was additionally given modified Taohong Siwu Decoction （桃红四物汤） for oral administration， one dose per day. The treatment course for both groups lasted for 4 weeks. The total effective rate and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups after treatment. Cardiac function indexes including left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）， and left ventricular end-systolic internal diameter （LVESd）， left ventricular end-diastolic internal diameter （LVEDd）， serological indexes including N-terminal natriuretic natriuretic peptide precursor （NT-proBNP）， high sensitivity C-reactive protein （hs-CRP） and vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）， score of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） symptom including chest pain， swelling of the affected limb， fixed tenderness， and bruising， haemodynamics indicators including high cut whole blood viscosity， low cut whole blood viscosity， and erythrocyte pressure， and coagulation indices including activated partial thromboplastin time （APTT）， plasminogen time （PT）， and fibrinogen （FIB） levels were compared before and after treatment. ResultsDuring the study， 3 cases were excluded and 2 cases lost follow-up in the observation group， while 2 cases were excluded and 3 cases lost follow-up in the control group. A total of 110 patients completed the trial， 55 cases in each of the two groups. The total effective rate in the observation group was 92.73% （51/55）， which was significantly higher than that of the control group， 78.18% （43/55， P＜0.05）. Compared within group before treatment， LVEF， APTT and PT levels increased， LVESd， LVEDd， NT-proBNP， hs-CRP， VEGF， high cut whole blood viscosity， low cut whole blood viscosity， erythrocyte pressure volume and FIB levels decreased， chest pain， swelling of the affected limbs， stationary pressure pain and bruising score decreased in both groups after treatment， and the improvement of all above indexes was better in the observation group than that in control group （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. The incidence of adverse reactions was 7.27% （4/55） in the observation group and 21.82% （12/55） in the control group， and the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group （P＜0.05）. ConclusionModified Taohong Siwu Decoction （桃红四物汤） as adjuvant treatment for patients of chronic heart failure with lower limb deep vein thrombosis in the chronic stage of blood stasis syndrome showed better clinical effectiveness when compared with western basic treatment， which can improve the clinical symptoms， cardiac function， haemodynamics， and coagulation， with good safety.

Thyroid cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the endocrine system and head and neck region,mainly including papillary thyroid cancer(PTC),follicular thyroid cancer(FTC),medullary thyroid cancer(MTC)and anaplastic thyroid cancer(ATC).Over the past few decades,the global incidence of thyroid cancer has risen rapidly,nearly doubling in some developed countries.Geographically,thyroid cancer incidence is higher in economically developed regions.Although the fastest increase in incidence has been observed in high-income countries,certain middle-income countries have also reported significant growth.Demographically,the incidence rate is notably higher in women than in men.In China,the incidence of thyroid cancer has increased significantly in recent years,while the mortality rate has remained stable at a low level.Urban areas report higher incidence rates than rural areas,and eastern coastal regions have higher rates compared to central and western regions.The etiology of thyroid cancer is multifaceted,with major risk factors including genetic predisposition,radiation exposure,iodine intake levels,endocrine disruptions,environmental and lifestyle factors.Among these,radiation exposure(particularly ionizing radiation during childhood)is a recognized critical risk factor.In addition,both insufficient and excessive iodine intake can disrupt thyroid function,thereby increasing disease risk.Genetic factors,such as familial clustering and gene(BRAF,RET/PTC,etc.)mutations,have been widely studied,while environmental pollution and modern lifestyles may also contribute to disease onset.Therefore,it is beneficial to conduct early screening for people with a family history of thyroid cancer,reduce unnecessary medical radiation exposure and conduct intervention on lifestyle-related risk factors such as obesity to prevent and control thyroid cancer.Most patients with thyroid cancer have a favorable prognosis.The main factors influencing the prognosis include pathological typing(PTC has a relatively better prognosis,while MTC and ATC have poorer prognoses),clinical staging(patients at TNM stages Ⅰ and Ⅱ have better prognoses,while those at stages Ⅲ and Ⅳ have worse ones),physiological factors(the overall prognosis of females is superior to that of males),genetic factors and environmental factors.Understanding the epidemiological trends and identifying factors influencing the onset and prognosis of thyroid cancer are essential for its prevention,treatment and health management.Future research should focus on identifying high-risk populations and developing targeted interventions to prevent and control thyroid cancer,reduce its disease burden,improve quality of life for patients,and lower healthcare costs.

Objective To analyzing the correlation between serum microRNA(miRNA,miR)-128-3p,miRNA(miR)-126 expression and Gensini score in patients with coronary artery disease.Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 60 patients with coronary artery disease who were treated in the Department of Cardiology,Harrison International Peace Hospital from June 2020 to 2022.They were selected as the observation group,and another 60 patients with non-coronary artery disease who were treated in the hospital during the same period were selected as the control group.Serum miR-128-3p,miR-126 and Gensini scores were measured and compared between the two groups,and compared the serum miR-128-3p,miR-126 and Gensini scores of patients with single,double,and multiple vessel lesions in the observation group.According to the stenosis rate of coronary arteries,they were divided into I degree,II degree,III degree and IV degree groups.The serum miR-128-3p,miR-126 and Gensini scores were compared among different stenosis grading groups.According to the Gensini score,patients were divided into mild and severe lesion groups.According to the Gensini score,patients were divided into mild and severe lesion groups.The serum miR-128-3p and miR-126 levels were compared between the mild and severe lesion groups.Pearson analysis determined the correlation between serum miR-128-3p and miR-126 levels and Gensini score.Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was plotted,and the area under curve(AUC)was calculated to analyze the predictive efficacy of the combined detection of serum miR-128-3p and miR-126 levels for coronary artery disease.Logistic regression analysis of influencing factors of coronary artery disease.Results Compared with the control group,the observation group showed an increase in serum miR-128-3p(4.28±0.52 vs 2.61±0.36)and Gensini score(31.29±5.62 score vs 6.16±1.04 score),observation group showed a decrease in serum miR-126,with statistically significant differences(t=21.678,34.058,11.002,all P<0.05).Compared with the double vessel disease and single vessel disease groups,the serum miR-128-3p and Gensini score in the multi vessel disease group increased(t=4.945,7.171;6.795,11.686),the serum miR-126 decreased(t=3.104,5.033),and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Compared with the I～II group,the serum miR-128-3p and Gensini score in the III～IV group increased significantly(t=5.590,12.961),the serum miR-126 decreased significantly(t=6.021),with statistical significance differences(all P<0.05).Compared with the mild lesion group,the serum miR-128-3p level increased in the severe lesion group(t=4.056),the serum miR-126 level decreased(t=4.806),and the differences were statistically significant differences(all P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between serum miR-128-3p and Gensini score(r=0.404,P<0.05),and a negative correlation between serum miR-126 and Gensini score(r=-0.393,P<0.05).The AUC of combined detection of serum miR-128-3p and miR-126 was higher than that of single detection,and the differences were statistically significant(Z=2.768,2.152,all P<0.05).The differences in smoking,triglycerides(TG),uric acid(UA),fibrinogen(FIB)between the observation group and the control group were statistically significant(t/χ2=4.231～28.732,all P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with coronary artery disease have high expression of serum miR-128-3p and low expression of serum miR-126,which is correlated with Gensini score.The combined detection of serum miR-128-3p and miR-126 can improve the predictive efficiency of coronary artery disease,and the occurrence of coronary artery disease is related to multiple factors,which should be given clinical attention.

To describe the incidence and mortality of adult head and neck cancer (HNC) in different regions worldwide and their temporal trends.

Objective:To investigate the effect of metformin(MET)on endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptosis and its role and molecular mechanisms in preeclamptic(PE)rats.Methods:Thirty SD rats were ran-domly assigned into control,PE and MET groups,10 in each group.From days 14 to 18 of gestation,rats in the PE and MET groups were subcutaneously injected with L-nitro-arginine methyl ester(L-NAME)at a dose of 200 mg/(kg·d),while the control group was administered subcutaneous injections containing a 0.9％solution of sodium chloride at the same dose.Additionally,the MET group was administered MET by gavage at a dose of 200 mg/(kg·d)from days 13 to 18 of gestation.On days0,6,12,15,17,and 19 of pregnancy,blood pressure of rats was measured.On days 12 and 19 of pregnancy,24-hour urinary protein content was assessed.On day 20 of pregnan-cy,rats were anesthetized and underwent cesarean section to measure pup weight,crown-rump length,placental weight,and diameter.We used reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),Western blotting,and immunohistochemistry(IHC)to detected mRNA and protein expression of apoptosis-related genes in rat placental tissue,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)to assess the expression of apopto-sis-related genes in rat serum.Results:Compared with the control group,systolic blood pressure on days 15,17 and 19 of gestation and 24h proteinuria level on day 19 of gestation were significantly higher,and body mass and top rump length of littermates were lower in the PE group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);Compared with the PE group,systolic blood pressure on days 15,17 and 19 of gestation and 24h proteinuri-a level on day 19 of gestation were significantly decreased,and body mass and top rump length of littermates were increased in the MET group,and the differences were all statistically significant(P＜0.05).Pairwise com-parisons of placental weight,placental diameter,and the number of pups born among the three groups showed no statistically significant differences(P＞0.05).Compared to the control group,the PE group exhibited significantly increased expression of B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)associated X protein(Bax),bcl-2 antagonist/killer 1(Bak),and apoptosis-inducing factor(AIF)mRNA and protein in placental tissues,decreased expression of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein,as well as elevated levels of Bax,Bak,and AIF in serum,while Bcl-2 expression levels were de-creased.These differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Compared to the PE group,the MET group exhibited decreased expression of Bax,Bak,and AIF mRNA and protein in placental tissue,along with increased expression of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein.Serum levels of Bax,Bak,and AIF were decreased,while Bcl-2 expression levels were increased.All differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusions:L-NAME significantly induced elevated levels of apoptosis in rat placental tissues,whereas MET was able to effectively inhibit L-NAME-induced apoptosis induced by endoplasmic reticulum stress,which has the potential to be a new therapeu-tic intervention point for PE.

BACKGROUND:The clearance pathway of metabolic waste in the brain is crucial for maintaining neural homeostasis.The accumulation of metabolic waste disrupts this equilibrium,representing a common pathological feature of many central nervous system diseases.In recent years,research focusing on the glymphatic system has emerged as a hotspot in the nervous system field.OBJECTIVE:To construct a knowledge map of glymphatic system research,visually analyze the current state of research,main hotspots,and future development trends within this area.METHODS:Utilizing CiteSpace,VOSviewer,and the Bibliometrix package in the R language environment,this study conducted an in-depth visual analysis of glymphatic system-related literature from the Web of Science Core Collection database,spanning from January 2012 to March 2024.This analysis included authors,institutions,countries,journals,keywords,and co-citation frequencies.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 687 related articles were included in this study.The number of publications in this field increased year by year,showing an explosive growth trend in the past three years.The countries,institutions,and authors with the largest number of publications in this research field were the United States,University of Rochester,and Professor Maiken Nedergaard.The journal with the highest number of publications was JOURNAL OF CEREBRAL BLOOD FLOW AND METABOLISM.The high-frequent and high-central keywords mainly focused on the mechanism such as cerebrospinal fluid hydrodynamics,neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease,and imaging techniques such as diffusion tensor imaging.The literature with the highest co-citation frequency was a classic review of the glymphatic system.The above results show that the research of glymphatic system is an emerging and active field,which has attracted wide attention at home and abroad and gradually expand from theoretical research to clinical practice.

Objective:To explore the molecular mechanism by which the methionine adenosyltransferase 2A (MAT2A)/β-catenin/zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1)/epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) pathway regulates neural tube defect (NTD) through intracellular S-adenosylmethionine (SAM).Methods:A mouse NTD model was induced using the SAM metabolic disorder inhibitor ethionine. Eighty specific pathogen-free C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups: a normal group (36 mice), an ethionine group (46 mice), and an ethionine+SAM group (44 mice). Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), ethionine, and ethionine+SAM were respectively injected intraperitoneally on embryonic day 7.5 (E7.5), and the mice were sacrificed on E10.5. Embryonic tissues were collected, and the morphology of embryos in each group was observed under a stereomicroscope. The interaction between ethionine and MAT2A was analyzed using Autodock software. The expression levels of MAT2A, β-catenin, ZEB1, and EMT-related proteins in the brain tissues of embryos from the three groups were measured using immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Variance analysis was used for intergroup comparisons.Results:(1) Autodock analysis results showed that MAT2A binds to ethionine through covalent bonds, exhibiting a complementary effect, thereby accelerating the expression of MAT2A. (2) After successful construction of the NTD model, normal embryos were plump with well-developed brains. NTD embryos showed delayed development, obvious anencephaly, unclosed neural tubes, and asymmetry. (3) The levels of SAM and SAH in the embryonic tissues of the ethionine group were significantly lower than those in the normal group (1 737.56±95.64 vs. 872.33±205.11, and 89.17±9.50 vs. 51.25±9.48, respectively). The SAM and SAH levels in the ethionine+SAM group was 1 197.00±222.27 and 66.61±12.25, significantly higher than those in the ethionine group ( P<0.017). Compared with the normal group and the ethionine+SAM group, the expression of MAT2A mRNA in the embryonic brain tissue of the ethionine group was significantly upregulated (1.00±0.00, 1.59±0.52, and 2.42±0.53, respectively, F=49.64, P<0.001; pairwise comparisons between groups P<0.017). (4) Compared with the normal group, the expression of Ctnnb1 in the ethionine group was reduced, and the expression of Ctnnb1 in the ethionine+SAM group was higher than that in the ethionine group (1.00±0.00, 0.38±0.16, and 0.76±0.10, respectively, F=149.03, P<0.001; pairwise comparisons between groups P<0.017). (5) The expression of ZEB1 in the ethionine group was higher than that in the normal group and the ethionine+SAM group (2.91±0.55, 1.00±0.00, and 1.61±0.20, respectively, F=150.01, P<0.001; pairwise comparisons between groups P<0.017). (6) The expression levels of E-cadherin and Vimentin in the ethionine group were lower than those in the normal group. In contrast, the expression of N-cadherin was higher than that in the normal group. After SAM supplementation, the expression levels of E-cadherin and Vimentin were upregulated, and the expression level of N-cadherin was downregulated (0.54±0.12, 1.00±0.00, and 0.72±0.14, respectively, F=87.44; 0.53±0.17, 1.00±0.00, and 0.76±0.09, F=87.44; 3.11±0.53, 1.00±0.00, and 2.13±0.56, F=95.54; all P<0.001; pairwise comparisons within the same index group P<0.017]). Conclusions:Ethionine promotes the expression of MAT2A, leading to reduced SAM production. Ethionine regulates the level of ZEB1 by increasing MAT2A and inhibits the EMT process to interfere with methionine cycle metabolism, ultimately resulting in NTD.
