Objective: To analyze the association between poor sleep characteristics and the coexistence of negative emotions and overweight/obesity among college students, so as to provide a scientific basis for improving their physical and mental health. Methods: From November to December 2023, a convenience sampling method was used to survey 6 600 college students from nine universities in Jiangxi, Hunan, and Hubei provinces. The Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and physical examinations were employed to assess negative emotions, poor sleep characteristics, and overweight/obesity. Chi square test and Logistic regression were used to analyze the impact of poor sleep characteristics on the coexistence of negative emotions and overweight/obesity. Results: The coexistence rates of different categories of negative emotions (depression, anxiety, stress) and overweight/obesity were 6.1% ( n= 405), 8.0% ( n =529), and 3.3% ( n =217), respectively. Gender, grade level, major, maternal education level, annual family income, physical activity level, only child status, and carbonated beverage consumption were statistically associated with the coexistence rates of different categories of negative emotions and overweight/obesity ( χ 2=4.01-35.18, all P <0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for gender, grade level, major, only child status, maternal education level, annual family income, physical activity level, and carbonated beverage consumption, poor sleep characteristics were significantly associated with an increased risk of the coexistence of negative emotions and overweight/obesity ( OR =1.41-6.65); moderate and poor sleep quality levels were significantly associated with an increased risk of the coexistence of different categories of negative emotions and overweight/obesity among female students ( OR =1.99-4.71) (all P <0.05). Conclusions Poor sleep characteristics are associated with the coexistence of negative emotions and overweight/obesity among college students. Greater attention should be paid to sleep issues in this population, and sleep education should be actively promoted to reduce the risk of comorbid negative emotions and overweight/obesity.

OBJECTIVES: To analyze the changes in disease burden and risk factors of atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter (AF/AFL) in China and globally from 1990 to 2021 to provide epidemiological evidence for developing effective preventive measures for AF/AFL in China. METHODS: Based on data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021, we analyzed sex- and age-specific AF/AFL burden metrics across 204 countries or territories. Age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), prevalence, mortality rate (ASMR), and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) rate (ASDR) were calculated. Joinpoint regression was employed to compute average annual percentage changes (AAPC) in trends. The risk factors were systematically evaluated and further validated using Mendelian randomization analysis. RESULTS: From 1990 to 2021, China experienced an increase in ASIR of AF/AFL (from 42.63 to 44.93 per 100 000), contrasting with the global decline. While China's ASMR decreased (from 4.93 to 4.33 per 100 000), global ASMR rose slightly (from 4.24 to 4.36 per 100 000). China's ASDR remained stable at 93.29 per 100 000, whereas global ASDR increased marginally (100.81 to 101.40 per 100 000). Significant sex disparities were observed: males showed higher ASIR and ASDR, while females exhibited greater ASMR and ASDR. China had higher incidence and prevalence but lower mortality and DALY rates compared to global averages. In 2021, the key risk factors for AF/AFL included elevated systolic blood pressure, high BMI, smoking, alcohol use, high-sodium diet, and low temperature. Gender-specific patterns emerged: smoking was predominant in males, whereas high BMI disproportionately affected females. CONCLUSIONS AF/AFL incidence and prevalence keep increasing in China, and its large population base and demographic aging pose significant public health challenges. Maintaining healthy lifestyle habits, including smoking cessation, alcohol moderation, and a low-sodium diet can help to lower AF/AFL incidence, and regular screenings is crucial for its early detection and treatment.

Objective To reveal the pharmacodynamic material basis of Kaixinsan by using high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS)and the integrated analysis of"chemical component spectrum-plasma exposure component spectrum-mitochondrial function".Methods Through a review of literature,databases,and previous studies,the chemical components of ginseng,polygala,poria,and acorus were systematically cataloged.A qualitative analysis method for the chemical constituents in the aqueous extract of Kaixinsan was developed,allowing for the identification of its chemical components.A qualitative analysis for rat plasma based on HPLC-MS/MS was established,which was applied to analyze the plasma exposure component spectrum following oral administration of Kaixinsan aqueous extract in rats.Aerobic respiration was evaluated using a seahorse cell energy metabolism analyzer,and the effect of key components of Kaixinsan on mitochondrial aerobic respiration was assessed.Results Four main types of components were identified in the Kaixinsan aqueous extract,including saponins,oligosaccharide esters,xanthones,and triterpenes,comprising a total of 231 identified compounds.Analysis of rat plasma 30 minutes after gavage with Kaixinsan identified 55 compounds.The analysis revealed that ginsenoside Rg1,3,6'-disinapoylsucrose,polygalaxanthone Ⅲ and poricoic acid B could significantly enhance mitochondrial respiratory capacity using in vitro cellular assays to detect aerobic respiration of four main components entered blood.Conclusions Saponins,oligosaccharide esters,xanthones,and triterpenes may be the material basis for the pharmacological effect of Kaixinsan by improving mitochondrial function.The integrated analysis of"chemical component spectrum-plasma exposure component spectrum-mitochondrial function"provides a new approach for in-depth exploration of the material basis underlying the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the regulatory effect of autophagy on the resistance of human liver cancer cell Huh7 to lenvatinib. METHODS Using human liver cancer cell Huh7 as subject， the lenvatinib-resist cell model （Huh7-LR） was generated by the low-dose gradient method combined with long-term administration. The sensitivity of parental cell Huh7 and drug-resistant cell Huh7-LR to lenvatinib was detected by using CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry. Western blot assay and GFP-mCherry-LC3 plasmid transfection were performed to detect the expression levels of autophagic protein Beclin-1， autophagic adapter protein sequestosome 1 （p62）， microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 （LC3） and autophagic level. Furthermore， an autophagy activation model was constructed by cell starvation， the protein expression of p62 and autophagy level were detected by using Western blot assay and GFP-mCherry-LC3 plasmid transfection， and the effect of autophagy activation on the sensitivity of Huh7-LR cells to lenvatinib was detected by flow cytometry. RESULTS Compared with parental cells， the drug resistance index of Huh7-LR cells was 6.2； protein expression of p62 was increased significantly， while apoptotic rate， protein expression of Beclin-1 and LC3Ⅱ/ LC3Ⅰ ratio were all reduced significantly （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）； the level of autophagy was decreased to some extent. Autophagy activation could significantly increase the protein expression of p62 in Huh7-LR cells （P＜0.05） and autophagy level， and significantly increase its apoptotic rate （P＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS Autophagy is involved in lenvatinib resistance， and activating autophagy can reverse the resistance of liver cancer cells to lenvatinib to some extent.

Objective:To analyse the clinical significance of selective single embryo transfer by time-lapse mo-nitoring(TLM)or conventional morphology assessment(CMA)in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm in-jection and embryo transfer(IVF/ICSI-ET),and to initially explore the predictive value of Raman spectral analy-sis of embryo culture medium for clinical pregnancy rate.Methods:The study is a prospective randomized con-trolled clinical trial.We assigned 139 patients treated with IVF/ICSI-ET in Reproductive and Genetics Center of Suzhou Municipal Hospital from April 2019 to July 2020,which were randomly assigned to either the CMA or the TLM group.We performed selective single-embryo transfer(fresh cycle and FET)after selecting the optimal em-bryos with TLM or CMA respectively.If the patient's first embryo transfer was unsuccessful,a second one would be performed to compare the differences in the cumulative live birth rate of embryo transfer and other pregnancy outcomes between the two groups.Meanwhile,we collected 15 μl of embryo culture medium at day 3 after IVF/ISCI fertilization for Raman spectroscopy analysis.Results:There were no differences in cumulative live birth,cu-mulative clinical pregnancy,cumulative premature birth,cumulative early spontaneous abortion,cumulative ectopic pregnancy and LGA or SGA between TLM and CMA groups(P＞0.05).The Neonatal sex ratio in the TLM group was lower than that in the CMA group,but the difference was not significant(P＞0.05).Raman spectros-copy analysis of embryo culture medium predicted the clinical pregnancy rate with 67.21％accuracy.Conclu-sions:In young women with a good ovarian reserve,the advantage of using TLM to evaluate embryos is not obvi-ous,so we should remain vigilant that embryo selection based on morphokinetic parameters may affect the sex ratio.Raman spectroscopic analysis of embryo culture medium is not yet able to effectively predict the planting ability of embryos.

AIM:To investigate the mechanism of action of Wenweiyang decoction(WWYD)in treating func-tional dyspepsia in rats based on mast cell activation and stem cell factor(SCF)/receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit signaling pathway.METHODS:Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into control group,model group,ranitidine hydrochloride capsule group,and low-,medium-and high-dose WWYD groups,with 10 rats in each group.The rat model of functional dyspepsia was established by tail clamping and irregular feeding compound senna method.After modeling,the rats in con-trol group and model group were given normal saline,while those in low-,medium-and high-dose(0.743 g/mL,1.485 g/mL and 2.970 g/mL)WWYD groups and ranitidine hydrochloride capsule(3 g/L)group were treated with corresponding drugs by intragastric administration.After treatment,the propulsion rate of the small intestine was measured by the carbon ink propulsion method.Rat duodenal mast cells were observed and counted by toluidine blue staining.ELISA was used for determination of mast cell tryptase(MCT)and histamine(HA)content in rat duodenum.The mRNA levels of SCF and c-Kit in duodenum were detected by RT-qPCR.Western blot and immunohistochemistry were employed to determine the ex-pression levels of SCF and c-Kit in the duodenum.RESULTS:Compared with model group,WWYD treatment signifi-cantly increased the propulsion rate of the small intestine in rats(P<0.05).ELISA results showed that WWYD reduced the number of mast cells and the content of MCT and HA in the duodenal mucosa tissue of rats(P<0.05).Western blot and immunohistochemistry results suggested that WWYD up-regulated the protein expression levels of c-Kit and SCF in the duodenal tissue of rats(P<0.05),and increased the numbers of SCF and c-Kit positive cells.RT-qPCR results indicated that WWYD up-regulated the mRNA expression of c-Kit and SCF in the duodenum of rats(P<0.05).Moreover,the small intestinal propulsion rate was negatively correlated with MCT and HA content,and positively correlated with the expres-sion of SCF and c-Kit.CONCLUSION:Wenweiyang decoction promotes rat duodenal motility,and its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of rat duodenal MCT and HA production and activation of SCF/c-Kit signaling pathway.

Methods:A retrospective study was conducted at the Center for Reproduction and Genetics of the Affiliated Suzhou Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. A total of 2 506 patients received IVF/ICSI-ET treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) protocol from March 2015 to June 2020 were selected. With Spearman rank correlation analysis and path analysis, we explore the relationship among the changes of these hormones and the baseline characteristic of patients, as well as the relationship among the changes of these hormones and the outcomes of IVF treatment.Results:The increase of hCG was accompanied by the rise of progesterone and the decline of estradiol change rate ( r=0.094, P<0.001; r=-0.093, P<0.001). Meanwhile the rise of progesterone was accompanied by the decline of estradiol change rate ( r=-0.089, P<0.001). The dosage of hCG trigger was directly positively correlated to hCG level after hCG trigger, path coefficients (PC) was 0.307 ( P<0.001). Body mass index (BMI) was directly negatively correlated to hCG level and progesterone level after hCG trigger (PC=-0.434, P<0.001; PC=-0.154, P<0.001), whereas positively correlated to estradiol change rate (PC=0.097, P<0.001). Meanwhile the duration and dosage of gonadotropin (Gn) used were positively correlated to progesterone level after hCG trigger (PC=0.102, P<0.001; PC=0.080, P=0.030). hCG level and progesterone level after hCG trigger had positive correlation to oocyte retrieved rate (PC=0.098, P<0.001; PC=0.080, P<0.001). While estradiol change rate was not correlated to oocyte retrieved rate ( P>0.05). Progesterone level on hCG trigger day negatively related to normal fertilization rate (PC=-0.050, P=0.039). hCG level, progesterone level and estradiol change rate after hCG trigger had no correlation with high-quality embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate (all P>0.05). Conclusion:Oocyte retrieved rate was positively affected by hCG level and progesterone level 12 h after hCG trigger. While normal fertilization rate, high-quality embryo rate, clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate were not affected by the change of hormones level 12 h after hCG trigger. Therefore we should pay attention to hCG level and progesterone level 12 h after hCG trigger.

Objective:To summarize the complications and prevention after botulinum toxin type A(BTA) injection for masseter muscle hypertrophy(MMH).Methods:The clinical data of patients with masseter hypertrophy who received BTA injection in Shanxi Bethune Hospital from January 2019 to September 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Injection method: 100 U BTA was prepared into a solution with a concentration of 50 U/ml with 2 ml 0.9% sodium chloride injection. The "safe injection zone" of the masseter muscle was marked. The anterior and posterior boundaries were the anterior and posterior edges of the masseter muscle, respectively. The upper boundary was the line from the corner of the mouth to the earlobe, and the lower boundary was the lower edge of the mandible. The injection points(3 or 4 points) were at least 1 cm away from the four borders, and 25-40 U was injected on each side. The patients were followed up after treatment, the types of complications were recorded, and the treatment measures were summarized.Results:A total of 160 patients were enrolled, including 8 males and 152 females, with a mean age of (30.6±6.2) years. All patients were followed up for 1 to 6 months. The masseter muscle of all patients was reduced to varying degrees, the lower facial lines were softer, and the facial contour was improved. The incidence of complications was 81.3%(130/160). There were four main types of complications: (1) Complications with a nonmuscular etiology include ecchymosis in 5 cases (3.1%) which resolved spontaneously in 5 to 7 days and headache occurred in 2 cases (1.3%) which disappeared in 2-3 days with proper rest. (2) The complication related to the toxin effect mainly was the decrease of masticatory power in 86 cases (53.8%), which gradually recovered with the drug metabolism for 3-12 weeks. (3) Dose-related complications include facial ptosis in 4 cases (2.5%) with 30-40 U dose per side. 2 cases without special treatment, gradually recovered in about 8-12 weeks. One patient underwent the BTA injection to raise the mandibular margin and gradually recovered about 2 weeks later. One patient recovered gradually with the treatment by Thermage in another hospital. There were 9 cases (5.6%) of paradoxical rigid masseter muscle bulge. 5 cases resolved within 1 week after supplementary injection of 4 U botulinum toxin, and the other 4 cases resolved spontaneously within 1 to 2 weeks without special treatment. (4) Complications related to the injection site include abnormal smiles in 3 cases (1.9%). Patients were instructed to practice the smile correctly and gradually recovered in 4-12 weeks. Twenty-one patients (13.1%) had sunken cheeks. One patient improved by injection of hyaluronic acid, and the other patients recovered gradually within 8-12 weeks without special treatment.Conclusion:The incidence of complications after BTA injection for MMH is high, and the manifestations are diverse. The injection should be performed in the recommended safe area of the masseter muscle. A reasonable dose and depth of injection can reduce the occurrence of complications.

【Objective】 To investigate the feasibility of laparoscopic simple prostatectomy (LSP) in the treatment of large volume benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). 【Methods】 Clinical and follow-up data of 30 patients with large volume BPH treated with LSP in our hospital during Feb.2019 and Dec.2021 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent extraperitoneal LSP operation. The perioperative and 1-12 month postoperative follow-up data were analyzed. 【Results】 The average prostate volume was (92.4±38.9) mL, operation time (125±45) min, and weight of resected prostate (60.25±16.90) g. The hemoglobin decreased by (12.21±7.25) g/d after operation. No blood transfusion was needed. There was no need for bladder irrigation after operation in 21 cases (70%), and 9 cases (30%) had bladder irrigation time of (0.95±0.49) d. The postoperative catheter indwelling time was (6.92±2.51) d, and hospital stay (5.36±1.63) d. During the follow-up of (9.25±5.4) months, there was 1 case of postoperative intestinal obstruction (Clavien-Dindo grade II), 1 case of transient urinary incontinence (Clavien-Dindo grade I), and 1 case of delayed hematuria (Clavien-Dindo grade I). No urethral stricture occurred. The maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), post-void residual urine volume (PVR), International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and quality of life (QoL) 3 months after operation were significantly improved compared with those before operation (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in sexual function before and after operation (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 LSP is safe and effective in the treatment of large volume BPH. It has advantages of complete resection of glands, minor bleeding and short postoperative bladder irrigation time. However, it still needs to be confirmed by a prospective control study of large samples.
