Objective To investigate functional connectivity between the two hemispheres in patients with positive symptoms of schizophrenia using voxel-mirrored homotopic connectivity ( VMHC ) based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI). Methods Eighteen patients with positive symptoms of schizophrenia and 22 healthy controls underwent the rs-fMRI. The whole brain VMHC was calculated in order to provide imaging basis for the study of the pathological mechanism of schizophrenia. Results Compared to the controls, VMHC values were decreased in the bilateral orbitofrontal cortex (t=-5.31, P<0.01), fusiform gyrus (t=-5.16, P<0.01), middle occipital gyrus (t=-5.31, P<0.01) in patients with positive symptoms of schizophrenia. Conclusion The functional coordination between homotopic brain regions is impaired in patients with positive symptoms of schizophrenia .

PURPOSE: Although the effect of lysosome-associated protein transmembrane 4 beta (LAPTM4B) on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of breast cancer (BC) cells has already been studied, its specific role in BC progression is still elusive. Here, we evaluated the effect of different levels of LAPTM4B expression on the proliferation, invasion, adhesion, and tumor formation abilities of BC cells in vitro, as well as on breast tumor progression in vivo. METHODS: We investigated the influence of LAPTM4B expression on MCF-7 cell proliferation, invasion, adhesion, and tube formation abilities in vitro through its overexpression or knockdown and on breast tumor progression in vivo. RESULTS: Cell growth curves and colony formation assays showed that LAPTM4B promoted the proliferation of breast tumor cells. Cell cycle analysis results revealed that LAPTM4B promoted the entry of cells from the G1 into the S phase. Transwell invasion and cell extracellular matrix adhesion assays showed that LAPTM4B overexpression increased the invasion and adhesion capabilities of MCF-7 cells. More branches were observed in MCF-7 cells overexpressing LAPTM4B under an electron microscope. In comparison with LAPTM4B overexpression, LAPTM4B knockdown decreased the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-A and significantly inhibited the vasculogenic tube formation ability of tumors. These results were also verified with western blot analysis. CONCLUSION: LAPTM4B promoted the proliferation of MCF-7 cells through the downregulation of p21 (WAF1/CIP1) and caspase-3, and induced cell invasion, adhesion, and angiogenesis through the upregulation of hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha, matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2), and MMP9 expression. This specific role deems LAPTM4B as a potential therapeutic target for BC treatment.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of acupuncture at the "reflection points" of affected side on the peripheral facial paralysis in acute phase. METHODS: Ninety patients with peripheral facial paralysis in acute phase were randomly divided into a reflection group (group A), a conventional acupuncture group (group B) and a physiotherapy group (group C), 30 cases in each group. The same basic medication were given in all three groups. In the group A, acupuncture at "reflection points" of the affected side and local acupoints in acute phase, such as Dicang (ST 4), Jiache (ST 6), Quanliao (SI 18), Xiaguan (ST 7), Yangbai (GB 14), Taiyang (EX-HN 5), etc. were applied. The electroacupuncture was added in the stationary phase, and Zusanli (ST 36) was added in the recovery phase. In the group B, acupuncture at Yifeng (TE 17) of the affected side in acute phase and local acupoints, such as Dicang (ST 4), Jiache (ST 6), Quanliao (SI 18), Xiaguan (ST 7), Yangbai (GB 14), Taiyang (EX-HN 5), etc. were applied. The electroacupuncture was added in the stationary phase, and Zusanli (ST 36) was added in the recovery phase. In the group C, ultrashort wave on Yifeng (TE 17) of the affected side in acute phase was applied, and the treatment in the stationary phase and the recovery phase was the same as the group B. The treatment was given once every day, 5 times as one course for 4 courses. The House-Brackmann (H-B) grading scale, facial disability index scale, the symptom and physical score integral scale were used to score before and after treatment, and the clinical effects of the three groups were compared. RESULTS: After treatment, the functional grade of H-B facial nerve was better than that before treatment in the three groups (<0.01). There was no significant difference among the three groups after treatment (>0.05). After treatment, the course of treatment required to reflect the healing in the group A was shorter than that in the group B and the group C (<0.01); the body function scores and social function scores in the three groups were better than those before treatment (<0.01), there was no significant difference among the three groups after treatment (>0.05). The scores of symptoms and signs in the three groups were lower than those before treatment (<0.01), there was no significant difference among the three groups after treatment (>0.05). H-B facial nerve function grading scale and facial disability index (FDI) scale were used as the evaluation criteria, the curative rate was 66.7% (20/30) in the group A, 50.0% (15/30) in the group B and 46.7% (14/30) in the group C, the curative rate in the group A was better than the other two groups (<0.05). The curative and markedly effective rate in the group A was 83.3% (25/30), 70.0% (21/30) in the group B and 63.3% (19/30) in the group C, the curative and markedly effective rate in the group A was better than the other two groups (<0.05). The scores of symptoms and signs were used as the evaluation criteria, the curative rate was 66.7% (20/30) in the group A, 50.0% (15/30) in the group B, and 46.7% (14/30) in the group C. The curative rate in the group A was better than the other two groups (<0.05). CONCLUSION Compared with general acupuncture and physiotherapy, acupuncture at the "reflection points" of the affected side on the peripheral facial paralysis in acute phase could shorten the course of treatment and improve the curative effect.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of moxibustion at different temperatures (38 ℃ and 45 ℃) on blood lipoids and serum level of oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and nitric oxide (NO) in rats with hyperlipidemia, and to explore the correlation between regulating blood fat and anti-oxidative stress and protection of vascular endothelium of moxibustion at 45 ℃. METHODS: According to random number table, 60 SD rats were randomly divided into a normal group, a model group, a moxibustion at 38 ℃ group and a moxibustion at 45 ℃ group, 15 rats in each group. The rats in the normal group received no treatment; the rats in the remaining three groups were fed with high-fat diet for 8 weeks to prepare rat models of hyperlipidemia. After successful modeling, the rats in the model group received no treatment; the rats in the moxibustion at 38 ℃ group and moxibustion at 45 ℃ group were treated with moxibustion at "Shenque" (CV 8) and "Zusanli" (ST 36), and the temperature was controlled at (38±1) ℃ and (45±1) ℃, respectively. The moxibustion was given for 10 min at each acupoint, once every two days, and totally 4-week treatment was given. After treatment, the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were measured by using biochemical colorimetric method; the levels of ox-LDL and NO were measured by using ELISA method. RESULTS: ① Compared with the normal group, the levels of TC, TG and LDL-C were significantly increased in the model group (all <0.01); compared with the model group and moxibustion at 38 ℃ group, the levels of TC, TG and LDL-C were significantly decreased in the moxibustion at 45 ℃ group (<0.01，<0.05); compared with the model group, the levels of TC, TG and LDL-C were insignificantly decreased in the moxibustion at 38 ℃ group (all >0.05). ② Compared with the normal group, the level of ox-LDL was increased but that of NO was decreased in the model group (both <0.01); compared with the model group and moxibustion at 38 ℃ group, the level of ox-LDL was decreased but that of NO was increased in the moxibustion at 45 ℃ group (<0.01, <0.05); compared with the model group, the level of ox-LDL was decreased but that of NO was increased in the moxibustion at 38 ℃ group (both <0.05). CONCLUSION Moxibustion at 45 ℃ has regulating effects on blood lipid in rats with hyperlipidemia, which can regulate blood lipid through various ways, such as anti-oxidative stress and protection of vascular endothelium.

BACKGROUND:Stem cells,characterized with convenient collection,wide sources and great potential,have been developed in the cell therapy.The most commonly used stem cells include bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,placental mesenchymal stem cells and umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells.OBJECTIVE:To compare the biological changes in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,placental mesenchymal stem cells and umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells after co-cultured with nerve cells.METHODS:Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,human placental mesenchymal stem cells and human umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stem cells were isolated and cultured in vitro.The morphological changes of mesenchymal stem cells differentiated into nerve cells were observed by co-culture with Transwell culture plates.The expression of neuron-specific enolase was detected after induction.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the co-culture system,these three kinds of mesenchymal stem cells gradually formed a star-like shape and were interconnected.Moreover,all the cells were positive for neuron-specific enolase.These findings reveal that the microenvironment provided by nerve cells can induce and promote the differentiation of three kinds of mesenchymal stem cells into neuron-like cells.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of infection prevention and control measures on the management of rational use of antimicrobial agents.Methods Patients who were admitted in a hospital from 2011 to 2015 were as the research object,a series of infection prevention and control intervention measure were taken,efficacy of intervention measures were evaluated.Results After the implementation of comprehensive intervention measures,compliance rate of hand hygiene increased year by year,from 38.17 ％ in 2011 to 87.16 ％ in 2015,difference was statistically significant (x2 =48.50,P＜0.05).Incidence of healthcare-associated infection dropped from 1.45％ to 1.06％,difference was statistically significant (x2 =42.50,P＜0.05);antimicrobial use density in 2011-2015 were 63.1,44.4,40.0,40.8,and 40.5 respectively,which showed a decreasing tendency.Conclusion Effective infection prevention and control measures have obvious effect on promoting management of rational use of antimicrobial agents,it is helpful for reducing the clinical use density of antimicrobial agents.

Objective To understand the actual implementation of hand hygiene(HH)of health care workers(HCWs), and provide evidence for improving HH management.Methods HH performance appraisal began to implement in a hospital in 2016, at the same time, third party(healthcare-associated infection management professionals in other hospitals)was invited to carry out 4 times of anonymous survey on HH among HCWs in the hospital, change in HH compliance rate among HCWs was compared.Results HH compliance of HCWs surveyed by the third party was 60.68％, HH rates in the first half and second half year were 52.72％and 68.62％respectively, difference was statistically significant(P＜0.001).Compliance rate of HH in key departments(intensive care unit and neonatal department, 87.44％)was higher than surgical departments(64.71％)and internal medicine departments(53.74％), difference was statistically significant(both P＜0.05).HH compliance rates of HCWs before and after contact with patients and after contact with the surrounding environment of patients were all low(53.59％, 58.07％, 43.97％, respectively).Conclusion HH surveyed by the third party can effectively reduce the Hawthorne effect during the observation process.HH performance appraisal can significantly improve the compliance of HH among HCWs.

Proper physical activities may improve strength and endurance, and improve flexibility and coordination, which contrib-ute to improving the quality of life and independence in patients with post-polio syndrome (PPS). Patients should exer-cise in a controlled and sensible manner, avoiding intensive training and excessive muscle use, for fear that exacerbated symptoms and further loss of muscle strength appear. Exercises should not be performed until the patients have been checked and evaluated by experts, followed closely and with certain conditions. The exercise intensity should be adjust-ed and not exceed the patient's fatigue threshold. Individualized exercise prescription should be carried out after disease, surgery or injury.

To study the application and effect of Role-playing in the teaching of Medical Immunology for foreign students.Role-playing method was tried using in the practical teaching of the pathway of complement activation and the related components in the"Medical Immunology" in Grade 2014(83 foreign students),and the teaching effect was analyzed and evaluated.In the study,we found that role-playing teaching method could not only help foreign students develop their initiative and comprehensively understand the difficulties of knowledge,but also cultivate their teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.At the same time,role-playing improved teaching efficiency and quality.Role-playing is a teaching method that meets the learning habits,characteristics,contents and rules of foreign students,which can improve the teaching quality and effect.

Objective To investigate the risk factors associated with epididymitis after transurethral resection of prostate.Methods A retrospective analysis of 352 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) who underwent transurethral resection of prostate in X'an Aerospace General Hospital from January 2015 to December 2017 was performed.There were 14 cases of epididymitis and 338 cases of nonepididymitis.Measurement data were expressed as ((x) ± s),t test was used for comparison between groups;count data was expressed by rate (％),and chi-square test was used for comparison between groups.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used for factors that may lead to post-urethral epididymitis.Results Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that preoperative leukocytic positive,urine glucose positive and prostate volume had significant effects on postoperative epididymitis (P ＜ 0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that prostate volume increased (OR =0.182,P =0.005)was an independent risk factor for postoperative epididymitis.Conclusion The enlargement of prostate volume is an independent risk factor for postoperative epididymitis.For large-volume prostate surgery,the purpose of relieving obstruction can be achieved.
